Greggs in Melton

After visiting Greegs, I felt that I have to inform you of our findings with great concern. On entry we noticed that all tables outside, and then entering inside were covered with food residue, paper, crumps, paper napkins bottles etc. I managed to find a somewhat clearer table to sit at and waited for my husband to join me to sit to eat our lunch at 13.30. After having to wipe the table myself and looking around the cafe, that’s when we noticed the dirty carnage around everywhere, on tables and the floors to your cafe. Wow I thought this is absolutely filthy. Never in my life of visiting Greggs cafe have we ever come across such absolute filth and mess. I took photos of this carnage. I will point out that at this time it was not busy at all, so I took it upon myself to go and talk to one of the 3 staff members that were working in your store. 1 young female and 2 males with glasses. I questioned the young female as to why the store was in such a filthy mess why tables inside and out the floor was not swept and everything was not cleaned and cleared after all this is where people come to eat there lunch. I was told by her I know it’s dirty!! That’s it. I told her that this is not acceptable if the state of the cafe is in such filth what on earth is going on out back in the food prep zone. I pointed out to her that I would be making an official complaint the following day and also I will be contacting the Environmental heath dept as this is a major issue for public health. Also there after there was no attempt of any cleaning going on, the surroundings are a total health hazard and it is absolutely not good enough or acceptable. Nothing followed by any of the staff members to even try and put this right in fact they all just stood behind the counter doing absolutely nothing not even filling up with any food as the counters which were quite empty. What on earth is going on in this Cafe. Where is the Manger in all this. They all need sacking for potentially putting the public’s heath at risk. I have now sent my complaint to the CEO and head office now, and have suggested that they should make an unannounced visit to this cafe to see this filthy mess and also read all reviews that we the Customers have left on Tripadvisor and read all the comments that people are leaving for them. Reply: Greegs is now dealing with the matter. Well let’s hope so!!

Absolutely disgracefully filthy Toilets are absolutely filthy with big cobwebs dirty dust. They never get cleaned and all of my friends say the same. I’ve never seen anything so disgusting and the serve food l!

Called in here today for take away food, and while i waited in the very long queue i looked around at the place and it was filthy,the lights were covered in dust and spiders webs,the same as the fan above the door and the aircon,they were thick dust and fluff on them,god knows what its like behind the scenes,the toilet was very dirty too,it had months worth of grime in it and toilet paper thrown all over the floor and toilet system.The whole place needs closing down for a deep clean.

Just had the misfortune today to visit Greg's in Melton. Absolute filthy floor (not raining today), tables not clean and not one of the 4 staff made any attempt to clear tables or floor. Toasties were inedible and hard enough to break your teeth. Worst eating place ever.

Please note you cannot re-heat any food that has been cooked and can only be out on show for selling 20 mins You are not allowed.

This place is absolutely appauling, I come here often with my family and the condition of this place is actually terrible. The Staff are often very rude towards me and my family, quite often there has been an issue with staff members being rude towards us as well as other members of the public. My family has even made complaints to the company themselves about this store. Its always untidy and unsanitary, the cobwebs everywhere and visible dust, dirty floors, bins are often full and the toilets are really dirt. I don't understand how this Greggs has a 5 for food rating as everytime I have been here, its always dirty.

Rebecca is a hopeless manager. Left two members of staff not serving customers whilst the queue was out of the door. Useless.

Requested that my sausage roll be replaced with a hot one as mine was lukewarm was told she couldn’t do that she also said that the sausage rolls weren’t kept warm once they came out the oven. Asked when would you the next batch be ready and was told 20 mins asked could she microwave it for me was told no they weren’t allowed to. The staff member was Emily. Very unhelpful and not the least bit interested in my query. I won’t be going back !! We normally visit here on a regular basis. It’s not the furniture that needs replacing it’s the staff!!!

Doughnuts and sickly cup cakes now seem to be the norm, Greggs used to have a great range of cakes buns etc and we used it a lot..no anymore sorry and the coffee is mediocre

There is a sit in cafe if you prefer and decide not to enjoy the take away aspect of Greggs all the food that is available at reasonable prices can be eaten inside the building plus hot drinks etc

Great cafe with good seating and great coffee. Outdoor seating available too. Always fresh food. Lovely place for a quick drink and a bite to eat.

Greggs has the reputation of being a good place for cakes and other foods if you are a veggie then you will find food to eat plus all the usual hot drinks in the cafe area

I know, it’s fast food on the hoof. But here the staff make the difference. Consistently polite, efficient & welcoming. Always a pleasure to pop in for my Latte & buttie/pasty.

A good selection of cakes and snacks they also do vegan food and hot drinks that you can eat and drink in the shop

I generally only shop takeaway as the seating is limited and generally full. The cakes and breads are good and the varied selections of Pasties and rolls are good. It is obviously popular for coffee drinkers and I will give it a try if ever there’s a table free.

Had a coffee and bite to eat here and was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. I was informed I could get what I ordered cheaper if I had a meal deal which worked out well. The money I saved however was used to buy a cake so you could say I had a coffee and sandwich with a free cake.

Great place for a bacon sausage and omelette baguette. Bread tastes very fresh and delicious. Accompanied by a double espresso. Friendly efficient and busy staff.

I often go in for a bacon bap & a coffe which as in all Greggs is very well priced. The bacon here isn’t as well cooked as in some Greggs & the service is not always the best but usually friendly

Like it or loathe it, fast food is here and not going away. The Melton Mowbray Greggs is a local haunt of mine and provides great service and food/drink that provides exactly what it should. Consistent, tasty and value for money. No, it’s definitely not Cordon Bleu, but it is £2 for a decent coffee and a bacon buttee! Beat that.

Called in for a meal deal lunch,a lot of choices.very busy but got served quickly will polite staff.the only let down was the fact that the place wasn't very clean so chose to eat my Gregg's out doors

Stopped for lunch on a day trip. Had four filled baguettes between our group along with drinks and pastries.Have to say very very poor, we located 2 pieces of chicken in my neighbours lunch and mine was not much better. (Tuna)Always liked greggs before now as fillings are normally ample, but today was a joke. Baguettes were extremely chewy and we left hungryReally unimpressed !

This is more a cafe than a restuarant that sells a wide range of excellent food and drinks to the locals the prices are reasonable and the place is always busy

Nice cakes and pastries plus sandwiches etc at reasonable prices you can also stop and have a coffee and a snack to eat inside or outside.

I've been to many Greggs within my 26 years. Though I was disappointed that they did not have any Chocolate ring doughnuts, they did have a large selection of pastries and cream cakes.There is a lot of seating for such a small place, seating is outside too.The staff member who served me was very friendly, and I heard other staff members being very friendly towards a rude man.

Great latte here not too strong and a Belgian bun on a deal, this is a nice chilled place to come. The sausage rolls and savoury pastries are cooked here so nice and warm, highly recommend the sausage rolls, good range of sandwiches and filled rolls and nice choice of cakes, helpful staff, bear in mind it gets busy so be patient
