Greggs in Thanet

Unfriendly staff. One of the most unhygienic greggs i have witness. All the seating area tables was full of left over rubbish from previous customers put us off our food. Not a pleasant place to have food and drink. The steak bake was soggy and luke warm. Waste of money and will not be returning. If there was a option I would give 0 star.

I’ve always liked Greggs food but the toilets in the Westwood Cross branch (Broadstairs) are beyond disgusting. There is no hygiene standard here at all. There is always thick filth, grime and dust on every surface in the toilets, even up the walls. They are very clearly not checked, cleaned or maintained regularly at all. They are often out of toilet paper, faeces spread on the seats and walls, urine on the floor, and when you complain to staff they just shrug as if it isn’t their problem. Whose problem is it then? Who is responsible for cleaning as the staff clearly have no interest in the job? I wonder if the hygiene in the kitchens is the same? I have complained via the main Greggs website a few times as well but they are not interested that one of their branches falls so far short of the most basic of hygiene standards either.

Ok. I appreciate a lot of the reviews are negative about Greggs at Westwood Cross. However, the manager, and two other members of staff that I dealt with were polite and helpful. I often feel irritated by reviews about the state of toilets in establishments or other public areas. After all, it is a number of the customers who are leaving toilets in a wretched state. My cappuccino and my daughter's mocha were great.

I visited the shop at Westwood cross in Thanet with my granddaughter today and could not believe how dirty the seating area was and i could see from previous reviews that the situation does not seem to have improved at all. When i mentioned the state of the tables to a staff member, he simply replied that he was finished for the day and walked away. He seemed to be speaking to another member and i assumed that the tables would be cleared and cleaned. Unfortunately that was not the case. The staff continued to walk straight past the dirty tables, ignoring them. A lady sitting at another table had to return her baked slice as it was not cooked in the middle and asked for a refund. This clearly was not the standard i would expect from your company.

Filthy tables very rude staff. Toilets were disgusting and the food was horrible so left it totally mad about this

Still a horror story. Lunchtime and no sausage rolls available! Steak bite was lukewarm and mushy. Tables filthy!!

Food was good until I'd seen the toilets the smell was horrible. Then I regretted eating there, it really shocked and annoyed me. I complained straight away in email was told the area manager would contact me but no so I'm here to make sure someone sees it. As someone who cleans I see such neglect for long periods of time.

Went into greggs. I will never go in that greggs again they can't even spread the fake butter or what ever it is. Anyway it made me feel sick and the staff in their need to go on some training days. the food is terrible I will never go again

Popped in for coffee , sat at the back of the shop looking round couldn't believe how filthy it is ,customers crockery not cleared and when it was tables not wiped or sanitised ,crumbs left on tables and floor looked like never been cleaned from day before, tissues cake bits everywhere Babies high chairs covered in mess and large runs of drink unbelievably dirty won't be going back

we stopped here for a coffee staff are helpful and friendly and it was very clean and situated in the centre which is great

This place is a disaster area and health hazard in the current climate. I arrived at 1300 to find the place completely full and queueing out of the door. There was no distance between the people and no masks other than mine and one other were visible. There was no coffee because the machine was broken and the hot food was not abundant. To add to this the outside tables were filthy, mine being covered in baked beans. If there is a manager in this place then they clearly don't understand their job description. I hope someone from the company is reading this as it is damaging their reputation!!

nice but can be hit and miss wether your food is hot or luke warm ,i like my food hot ,but tasty snacks all the same .

I don't normally frequent Greggs but after shopping with the family inc. grandchildren we needed a snack. Everyon found something that appealed to them and the prices were reasonable. All the food was good

Always busy. Queueing out the door. Not the staffs fault. They are welcoming and pleasant. I will return.

When I went there I pick up a sandwich and a drink with the meal deal, on the price it said three pound take out/ sit in, so I'm thinking this is going to be £3.15 with the meal deal and dosent make a difference if I take it out or not, I go and pay and it comes to about four pounds questioning the staff there and they're saying they add VAT to because it is a then restaurant if you seat in, if you have to pay VAT to eat in it should be said on it and not saying that is the same price

One of my favourite Greggs. Ideal for a pit stop whilst shopping and when weather allows, sit in one of the outside areas at Westwood cross. Easily the best value food at Westwood and hence the long queue. Staff were superb, especially the young man serving me. They put up with a lot of oafs and unpleasant types that don’t say please or thank you from what I saw. Steak bake is popular, but have a couple of back ups in case. It’s a bit of luck at times as they are cooking all the time to keep up with demand. I loved the cup for life for refills and it’s easily the best value one out there. Really nice white coffee. There is more seating at the back and good toilets. All clean and tidy, which is hard considering the people this wonderful chain attracts. Having to see a tattooed behemoth stuffing a pierced eared toddler with coke and covering it in sausage roll pastry, leaving a mess, and not using a bin, is a side effect of a visit, but I’m always prepared to do that for this branch.

Good food nice sandwiches/roll/wrap/ baguette selection. Nice hot drinks. Good clean eating areas.friendly staff

Stopped here for a snack? Ok getting food, but a great lack of seating. Plenty of floor space but no seating to accommodate the customers

Queue was long and stayed long. Staff were certainly not in any hurry to serve. No vegan sausage rolls which we were disappointed with. My steak n cheese pastry was luke warm. We ate in. Seating area was clean. Coffee very nice and my daughters cheese n ham toastie was good. Will hopefully one day try a vegan sausage roll!!

Have been here every week these past few weeks shopping and on every occasion have joined the long queue (coming out of the door!!) waiting to see if there is anything left. Usually only one member of staff hopelessly overloaded. People are leaving the queue the whole time as cannot be bothered to wait. All the tables are full of empty cups and plates in all a disaster area. I feel sorry for the staff who clearly are not being managed which begs the question is there a manager because if so they need to either be replaced or shown how bad they are. Yesterday when I arrived at the hot counter just after one there were sausage rolls and little else!

As we were shopping here, we visited Greggs purely for their sausage rolls which are the best anywhere. However, unless you specifically ask for hot ones, they are served cold. Coffee here is somewhat tasteless and a better quality of coffee is desirable with more strength. Just have the sausage rolls.

Standard greggs with nice sandwiches and hot snacks but they do not seem to be able to serve the snacks hot.

Called in here whilst at the shopping centre, was a queue even though early. But not a long wait. Ordered just a coffee to go. Good tasty brew, shop clean and tidy and pleasant polite staff. Thanks

Great fresh sandwiches & a well made cup of Latte. Friendly staff, who dealt efficiently with orders.

Lots of people serving. Good food. Just a shame that everywhere is filthy including the cups. Wasn’t even a busy time in there

Bought a pack of mince pies from this shop and they were the worse I have ever tasted. The pastry was nice but the fill8ng may have turned me off minced pies forever, threw the pack in the bin

As long as one accepts what sort of place this is - and don't use at lunch time !! - it offers very good value for money and the coffee is pretty good tooIf used at none peak times to buy sandwiches and then keep them for lunch so missing the queues then offer good value

Rude very slow staff with horrid food that we waited ages for ! Would advise against using this place it is terrible on every level YUK !

W Waited 45 minutes to be served. Only I person serving and a queue of 15 or more people. When eventually served could not have a bacon sandwich or baguette as this was deemed as breakfast. Settled for something different which was very good. Such a shame as an extra member of staff would have made a big difference.

Coffees-fineCakes etc-fineAnd that's all it has going for it, never a great selection for eating in, never found staff particularly polite or helpful..I had such a bad experience in here previously that after complaining to head office it was resolved and I was given free vouchers which I chose to use in a different branch which wasn't a whole deal better :)
