Lovely cafe / restaurant, polite friendly staff, good menu and very reasonable prices. I had a sausage and onion baguette with salad garnish £5:99 which came with a good amount of onions not your usual smattering. Also had a large white coffee £3:50. Highly recommended.

We are using Greensteds more for either lunch or morning coffee and find every time that the food and coffee is of great quality and a great price, also the manager and all the staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

Just the job for a good breakfast or light lunch. Fast and pleasant service of good sensibly priced food. Hit on this unpretentious gem the first day of spring break and enjoyed it every day. (Their Spanish omelette best I have ever had)

Not overpriced gourmet, good honest freshly prepared snacks, drinks and meals. We were lucky to hit on this one first time and ate there daily throughout our stay in Herne Bay

A very popular cafe in Herne Bay. Had double egg and chips, the eggs were not runny, but the chips were good. You have to walk through the kitchen to the toilet and i noticed the chief was opening reduced yellow label produce. I am all for non waste, but they should pass on the saving to the customers eating possible out of date food.

Service was a bit slow but I appreciate it was busy, somehow. Ordered Chicken Curry and Chips and I am sorry to say I could eat just a few mouthfuls of the Curry, far far to salty for Me.. Probably won't return.

Spotless cafe- nice menu- the usual breakfast items and a few special deals with breakfasts. Our order was mushrooms on toast- lots of mushrooms - and side order of toast and jam and lattes. All piping hot and lovely coffee- polite service- top class cafe.

Wouldn't bother. Ordered 9:48. Delivery Expected 10:10-10:20. Time kept getting pushed back. Decided to call at 10:54 (1 Hour and 6 minutes since ordering) Was told "Sorry no drivers" - Asked why wasn't I contacted "Sorry, Didn't think about that"

We found free table, sat down and couldn’t believe how big the menu choice was. We all ordered four different meals and each we’re great! Hot tasty food. Our waitress was lovely and friendly. We would defo return!

A standard cafe, really nothing special. Good if that is what you want and the staff were efficient and friendly but if you want better quality food there are other places only a few doors away.

Very expensive Milk shake at £4.50, though it would be much bigger for that price, only 1/2 the size of McDonald's.

This place used to be the best cafe restaurant in Herne Bay, in my humble opinion. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill in my estimation. The orders are usually incorrect, the prices far too high and the ambiance isn't great either.

This is one of the cleanest seaside cafe that we have ever visited the food is excellent for the price and the staff are professional and friendly.

Went for breakfast with my partner while we waited for the Seaside Museum to open, we were impressed. Clean and tidy with NO sticky tables, relaxing music and well maintained (they even oiled the slightly squeeky door while we were there). The food was really tasty and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Herne Bay.

Centrally located, spacious corner cafe. Standard vinyl and formica decor, but comfortable, with soft background music and quietly efficient and friendly staff. Selection of breakfasts (coffee included) : my 'Special' (two of everything) was tasty and more than filling, and good value at £6.95. Straightforward Full English in a convenient position. Recommended.

This has become our go-to place for lunch …. whether it is an Omelette, Fish and Chips or Breakfast plate … you won’t be dissapointed

So was in Herne bay as my late dad was born here and mum hadnt visited for 20 years we visited the pier and seafront then headed into town found this cafe and decided to eat they had a set meal roast and a pudding for £10.99 so I went to the till to order from a young girl ordered drinks 2 roasts and 2 puddings sat back at table and the girl I ordered from came to our table and said was we eating! Hello I just placed an order 2 minutes ago she then came back and asked if we had ordered the roast! Food and drink came quick food was ok then our plates took ages to clear it wasn't busy managed to grab a waiter and asked for dessert he then came back and asked what we had ordered! Desserts came and halfway through he came to clear our drinks which we still had about 1/4 of our glass in sorry but won't eat here again

My husband and I visit Herne Bay regularly on a Saturday and always have lunch here.We sit outside if possible ,and enjoy the busy atmosphere.Service is quick and efficient by the young servers.Food is always piping hot and well cooked,not greasy at all.Good coffee too....

Central to the town, clean, BUT the food quality is poor. Cheap meats fried for a few quid more they could buy decent produce to cook. Such a shame as it is in prime position

Make sure that you explain exactly what you want, slowly and very clearly.I have eaten breakfasts at this establishment and the food was tasty and well cooked and very good value for money.Their milkshakes are excellent, although a recent chocolate one was slightly suspect in taste. Their ice-creams are excellent in both taste and value.The pavement eating area is clean and tidy and excellent for watching the world go by.

I was quite surprised to see a full steak meal for less than £10 on the menu. This is a cafe which has gone slightly up-market. The meal was very good indeed and only marred by the waiter forgetting things I asked for. Interesting milkshakes - I had a Daim one! Very tasty but very expensive. They were advertising for waiters and I think they certainly need them. In true cafe style, it's up to the counter to pay. The food was good and the place clean. Value was excellent. I might try elsewhere next time I visit Herne Bay.

I called in at Greensted's after walking along the seafront from Whitstable, resulting in a large appetite at hand. So one of their larger meals was taken, which was their mega grill (with bacon, sausage, liver, burger, fried egg, chips, tomatoes and garden peas). A guaranteed filler upper and no room for more, once that was eaten. Though as many people do mention (myself included from entries dating back a while), it does have a huge menu choice incorporating most types of cuisine. Along with child sized servings if needed, so families are catered for as well. I personally have used Greensted's many a time since before the millennium, when staying at Herne Bay, and have never been served a bad meal yet. Finding the waiting staff quick on the ball and always courteous to people, going out of their way to ensure proper table service is carried out. It can get busy at lunch/dinner times, as today's experience showed on paying the bill and leaving for pastures new. As the place was almost full by then, though there are a number of outside tables if the weather is warm enough. Even in February (spring half term break) with the mild spell at hand, there were some people taking this option.

Visited with my son for a meal but was disgusted to find a long hair in my meal. The staff were more interested in suggesting that the 4inch long hair came from my crew cut head than trying to rectify the situation. We left the meals and invited them to keep our money which they did.

Great Katya and sandwiches. Staff great too. Sit in or out. Service Great. Great for families. Always accomadating.

Took my family for lunch on Sunday. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and freshly cooked. We all had different meals that arrived together quickly. The restaurant is very clean. They also sell lovely ice cream too. My family were impressed.

I meet friends here for lunch most Saturdays. I usually have the all day breakfast but the jacket potatoes are also a favourite!

We visit regularly on a Saturday lunchtime often having different things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The staff are great, always willing to please.

We have been going to Greensteads since we moved to Herne Bay four years ago, the staff are always friendly and we are on first name terms with most of them. The menu is varied, the food well cooked and reasonably priced. Would recommend the restaurant to anyone.

As a family we visited Herne Bay for the day. It was a pleasant afternoon and we decided to stop at this lovely coffee shop located in the centre of herne bay the ambience was lovely, the staff were ever so friendly and helpful, very accommodating. We were 6 all together the cafe was overly busy staff approached very kindly and they made an effort to get us in we were kindly helped to be seated. There was a range of milkshake sellection kids enjoyed it very much (can’t ask for more) all hand made and at a taste of choclate bar you love. (Snickers, mars, oreo, malteasers and terys orange and more) The coffee was superb with a lovely creamy taste. The breakfast was something else, the sausages were so flavoursome, the eggs were definitely free range İt was such tasty havent eaten any breakfast like it whole my life. I will definitely be coming back, lovely and welcoming. Sit outside in the sun watch the world go by or inside in the attractive surroundings.

We visited this cafe today while we was waitting for our car at garage was very busy when we went in we took our seats and man came over to take our order partner n kids knew what they wanted but as usual i didnt lol he was very patient got us a high chair for little one.We ordered our food n drinks.Food was good cooked perfect good size portion aswell also the nutella milkshake was amazing highly recommend defently be visiting again staff was great thank you

Had a burger with cheese. Burger was tasteless and slimy the worst burger I have ever eaten. Reasonable priced menu but cheap quality and to top it of was over charged, will not return.

Faded grander this once was a lovely place for coffee and cake. Our outside table was not clean. The toilets were through the kitchen and not that clean.

Always look for the food hygiene rating...Couldnt see it , this place needs a make over. Had a sandwich and a coffee ...ok ish ...as I sat pondering I downloaded the food hygiene app... this place had 3 stars . Thats why I couldnt find the rating hung up in the cafe.

Two roasts and two large mugs of tea for £15.10 - well presented, tasty, hot and very filling - indeed so much so we weren't able to take advantage of the sweet.

Come here with my elderly parents and my mum is poor mobility but still walks.Good variety of food, both non traditional English and traditional. Sunday lunch good and value for money.Staff always helpful and polite. Disabled loo needs a rethink regarding grab rails and you have to go through the kitchen area to get to it. Have eaten here on numerous occasions.

Las dos veces que íbamos a tener uno de sus dulces, ya tenían una pinta estupenda en el menú, pero la comida principal era más que suficiente. Sin duda volveremos cuando en Herne Bay.

Very clean restaurant/cafe with very attentive staff. Orders taken at your table. Our food was lovely, the chips were beautiful and not at all greasy. Fried eggs were perfectly cooked although my husband's jacket potato could have had a bit of extra butter. Quite a varied menu. Will certainly visit again when next in Herne Bay.

This is the third time we have been here this year, so I guess we are reasonable happy with the food and service. The food is good for the price you pay. The atmosphere, to my mind, is more like that of an upmarket transport cafe rather than a restaurant.

This place is fantastic if you want simple,no fuss,honest food with a great service then I would recommend this place. We eat here almost every time we visit hernebay and have never has cause to complain.

Popped in for some drinks and toast for 4 of the family. Got sat down and then waited and waited to such an extant wondered if we should go to the till to order. Anyway ordered some hot drinks and then four rounds of toast with jam and marmalade and jam. Drinks came out then toast of two plates so given to two of the girls. It was only after a bit that my mum said that as there was 2 slices cut into 4 that perhaps this was for all four of them. Wife got the menu to show that it was two slices to only see it was one slice. Maybe the cleaner was on a go slow and so were cutting back on washing up. Forgot the jam as well.Cost £10 for 4 hot drinks and 4 slices of bread so not too bad from a cost point of view.

I suppose you could say we are regulars as go here all the time , I personally really like their chicken curry and the crumble and custard which I get as a take away to eat at home ,The staff are always lovely to us and the kitchen and bathroom are clean, I think the prices are very fair and will continue to vist as often as we can

Went here for a drink and snack while visiting family, there was 3 adults and a 1 year old, tried to order a kids meal to be told can't as we are not children even though it was going to be for the 1 year old, very rude man kept saying " well are you child?!"We decided to cancel our order of drinks as the man left our table so I called out for them to cancel it. As we was making our way to the door with the buggy got harrasssd in the door way by another member of staff saying they had made one of the drinks and we had to pay for it, he didn't even ask why we was leaving, when I explained they wanted us to order an adults meal for a 1 year old I then got accused again of not being a child , which I clearly am not but was pushing one in his buggy. Told them they are very rude and left, would never go there again and quite frankly it ruined our day out.

Went to greensteds on Saturday morning. With family members. Now ordered egg and chips and a burger. So when it arrive o dear a quashed white thing that some people would call a egg in a burger with a microwaved bun the had been burnt in the toaster. Now when I ask for egg and chips with a burger on the side I didn't expect what turned up. I really should have said something but I couldn't be bothered as the staff member didn't really know what to do. So the the manager of greensteds please make sure your staff listen to the customers

The sausages were very gristly and the bacon had a lot of fat on which wasn't cooked. The portion size of our breakfast didn't impress us too much either. None of the breakfasts come with tea/coffee and bread/toast as it does in other cafes which made it a very expensive breakfast. We left feeling very disappointed and hungry! we won't be returning

First of all I DO recommend this café as they have a terrific choice for a very reasonable price (I recommend the thick shakes!).But the guy who served us looked really miserable, I mean fair enough we can't all be smiling all the time but he didn't say a word either, even when we thanked him we weren't acknowledged at all. Overall: Just work on the service and you've got a five star café!

Have been using Greensteds for many years, great menu, very good staff, we came to the air show, very busy, there was a table outside, but there was not any chairs, the staff found 4 chairs for us, visited again this week, very good as usual.

We went in because it look very clean and welcoming. There is a big selection of dishes on the menu Our jacket potatoes, omelette and salad were delicious and after this we had chocolate and nuts Sundae. Whaaaaw !!!!!!!!We left happy and very full. This was super food at great price.

Staff really need to work on their customer skills / service and need to smile and make customers feel welcome.... We sat down on the very compacted seats and had to stare down a member of staff to be served... Then waited a good while for our over priced meal (2 x chicken burger & chips to share between us both) to be brought over to us.... Not once did a member of staff come over to make us feel welcome or check if all was ok.... The burger itself tasted like the 2 minute microwave burger... We wasn't asked if we wanted any sauce in the burger & to top of the £3.50 each chicken burger we only got 1 slice of tomato and cucumber and bare minimal lettuce... Only thing that was ok was the special Mars Bar Milkshake... Even when we went to pay we wasn't asked if the meal was ok or anything... We didn't even finish the meal it was that bad... Couldn't make a complaint as staff didn't come to the table and even if we did nothing would of been done about it!! We won't be returning,...

the jacket spuds are very nice I had tuna sweetcorn and mayo my daughter had jacket potatoe chicken mayo and sweetcorne with salard it was very nice will go nexttime I am in hernbay

Clean, friendly, reasonably priced. The wife and I were scouring the Hern Bay charity shops and wanted a break - there are so many. We popped in for a cup of tea and were impressed enough to grab a bite to eat aswell. Would recomend.

They cook good breakfasts here at very reasonable prices.It can get a bit crowded at time, but there is the opportunity to sit outside.Service is friendly and efficient

Greensteds appears to be very popular with Herne Bay residents. However, I cannot see why, other than being fairly cheap to eat and drink at, it is dated and appears grimy.

I've had two bad meals in a row now. This time I had grilled chicken and chips, which is hard to get wrong - unless you're grilling *reconstituted* chicken that is. Horrible stuff. We won't be coming back. There are better places to eat.

Staff were very happy to help, the atmosphere of the cafe was lovely and American styled. Food was tasty and perfect for all ages, providing special milkshakes for the kids, which they loved.

I am a regular at this place use my mobility scooter to get there and a a tea and a smoke most days. Father and the Sons are always very helpful Food is very good value and you are able to sit outside if you wishBest wishes for 2016 to you all.

The corner-located large café is in the heart of this Kent seaside town and although the brown décor is a bit dated, that is the only minor moan.The capacity is large and there are a lot of tables and chairs inside which are reasonably well spaced apart. There are numerous laminated menus on each table with easy-to-read prices and lay-out and there prices are competitive too. There is also a large colour menu affixed to the window of the café too. My jacket potato and coffee was quickly served and well-prepared. On one wall is a television screen that has a Powerpoint-style presentation of local views - of both old postcards and modern photographs and this is an efficient use of space and promotes the resort.

Herne Bay on a cold Sunday morning. Looking for a delicious cooked breakfast, we thought we would give Greensteds a go. We have been walking past this place for years. Well, what a great breakfast and such a good choice. You name it, they do it. Very clean and excellent toilets. (Always a good sign) Very good service. Obviously they have there regulars as well as passing trade and it always seems busy. Definately go again. Highly recommended.

Situated in herne bay on corner of the market you can't miss this cafe. Service is fast and friendly, all day breakfasts are wonderful. Pancakes are wonderful, every time we go herne bay we go to Greensteds.

There isn't a great deal to say about Greensteds, other than the fact it occupies a tidy little spot in central Herne Bay which undoubtedly gifts them footfall. It is simply okay, there is nothing to make it standout, the food is average and typical cafe fare - not bad, not amazing, but nothing interesting or memorable. I've seen worse, but I've seen many better day to day cafes too. The plus side is that it is clean and they have a lot of choice.The bad side is that the service has zero enthusiasm and feels unfriendly. Also this is another place where you ask for mayonnaise and ketchup and end up with weird, watered down versions of both. So yeah...it's okay, but there is no great need to return and I find its prime position in town somewhat of a waste.

Friendly service where they don't hurry you. Food is excellent, well cooked and promptly served. If you are visiting Herne Bay would definitely recommend it whether it be for a meal or a snack - their toasted tea cakes are wonderful! Only drawback was no free WiFi and unable to get a 3G signal in the restaurant

Been here quite regularly. Their "Greensteds Breakfast" is the best. The eggs are always perfectly cooked and their open prawn sandwich is unusual and very nice.The service is always friendly and very prompt.

The food and service was really great. A very friendly and relaxing atmosphere.Definitely would recommend to a friend.Their coffee is to die for, better than Costa's.
