When I was a kid Greenhalghs was synonymous with quality and taste. We have an unwritten rule in our household - risk Greenhalgh's but not anything with meat in it. We have had so many dodgy chunks of something in the meat and potato pies, inconsistent often burned pasties, overchilled horrible sandwiches and all for a premium price. If ever an outlet was to be defined by 'service with a scowl' Greenhalgh's would seem to be it. I have never felt welcome in store and combining this with the knowledge that a premium will be paid and the food most likely end up in the bin, why would you bother. If we are hungry and passing a Greenhalgh's and I hark back to those fond memories, my partner reminds me, we will always end up at the nearest bin, and then have to to find food elsewhere. Quality used to be everything. Sadly Greenhalgh's does not seem to be this anymore. In case of any contention, I would invite any member of the Greenhalgh's Board to mystery shop any store around Wigan. You will not be happy.

Frustrating experience ordering from here no matter if you turn up at lunch time or a couple of hours later they never seems to have cheese pasties or cheese and onion pies. And they are not in the over either why not?? I suspect these are not popular products where the shop is located. I've been told to pre-order by telephoning in advance. Why would l do that when Greggs have cheese pasties at the Middlebrook stadium? Basically this shop has lost my custom. Shame as l prefer their pasties/pies over Greggs but have to travel to Greenhalgh's @ Chorley Old Road, where they have no problem serving me.

This is exactly what you expect, it's a Greenalgh's just like any other, you don't need to study the menu, there will be no chef's specials or regional varieties. It's great value, good food which you know will be good.

Our server Charlie went out of his way to ensure that we had a fabulous time! He ensured that the food was quick and served with a joke and a smile! I went with my sister and friends and we all had a fab time out! Thanks to Charlie and the team. Xx

First time at this restaurant since it moved. Very impressed with food and service. Menu has good choices. All food arrived hot and was of good quality. The portion sizes were also good value for money. Based on our experience would certainly recomend.

April 2023 Very disappointed in my experience at Prezzo. My daughter who is 7 ordered a child's menu spaghetti and informed me she had metal in her mouth. Spat the metal out and yes there was a big sharp piece of metal in her food. Very large lump. Very concerned this could have been very dangerous if she had swollowed or ingested the metal. Informed the waiter. Had to ask for the plate to be removed and new food ordered. No apology from the chef or senior management which I would expect from a serious incident. No concern or reassurance provided for my daughter that was very distressed from metal hurting her teeth. Extremely concerned about the experience.

Ordered via Uber Eats, untracked service as they use own drivers. Placed order at 20.40 pm, called up an hour later and was told very busy and will be another15 minutes. They arrived at 20.15 and I had to reject. Shocking service. Complaint logged with Uber Eats, why are restaurants allowed to be on their who can't be tracked and don't keep to their true times at time of placing orders. These restaurants need to be barred. Disgraceful service from both restaurant and Uber eat agents

We ordered a doner kebab and double cheeseburger from one of the eat apps. The estimated delivery time kept changing and got later and later, very frustrating when the rest of the family were tucking into food that had arrived on time. It took well over an hour in the end which might have been ok given it was Good Friday, but the fact we kept getting messages saying it was coming, then it didn’t, then another message saying another 15 mins and so on, it was a farce. The doner kebab was just doner meat on chips, no bread. I’m half Turkish and know that a doner kebab comes with bread. The doner meat was pale and didn’t taste good. My cheeseburger was bland and the meat tasted cheap. The chips were good because I like soggy chips. The Oreo milkshake was very good. I called to ask for a refund, even if only partial, but was told no, the most they offered was a free milkshake next time. No good to us as there will not be a next time!!
