The Greenwood Centre is a quiet, hidden corner of the Coalbrookdale/Ironbridge town landscape. The cafe is fantastic. We sat outside in a cool corner and enjoyed a brunch of a grilled New York sandwich, tomatoes and hoummous on toast, hoummous and breadsticks, scrambled eggs, bread and pastrami, and slaw and bread, fizzy drinks. Service was smashing too and prices were not too steep. One grumble - it would have been good to have a mix of breadsticks and veggies for my son's hoummous, which he said was the best he'd tasted. The spot is so peaceful, chilled and green. I think if we had this cafe round the corner from us, we'd be there everyday, every weekend at least. We will be going back, again and again

I love it at Green Wood, the cafe is excellent, the menu a little different and not the usual cafe fare, the coffee was first class and you get to enjoy it in peace and tranquility. Plenty to see too, and some great walks to enjoy afterwards. All in all one of my favourite places in the Gorge on a sunny Saturday morning.

What a lovely place! It’s in a fabulous quiet location with lots of outdoor seating. I had a wonderful vegan salad which was large, tasty and full of variety. My husband enjoyed his toasted sandwich. My macchiato was top notch (rich and smooth) as was my coconut and chocolate slice. The staff were lovely. If we lived closer we’d be regulars.

Well worth heading slightly away from the usual gorge attractions for this cafe. Very friendly, superb coffee, delicious sandwiches and lovely cake. There are some nice walks on the doorstep, easy parking, even blankets if you fancy wrapping up and eating all fresco.

I called in for coffee and cake a couple of weeks ago, I do so fairly often. It's the only place in Ironbridge where I can get a soya cappuccino and a cake which is not only delicious but gluten and dairy free. Sitting outside in the sunshine listening to the birdsong and surrounded by trees, good cake and coffee - it doesn't get much better!

Had a delicious lunch of home baked gammon, charlotte potatoes and salad and home made coleslaw! It was delicious. Not eaten here before just happened to stumble across it whilst out for a walk with a friend. Service was personal and polite. Lovely setting and quite busy, seemed to be some sort of class or something in the next room. Lots going on down there, putting up a yurt the next day - volunteers got coffee/tea and cake!!

This is not merely just a good place to visit, the cafe does a wicked sunday lunch.... very generous portions of well cooked good old fashioned home cooking...... this will fill you up and make you toddle off very content.... the advantage is you can go for a really good walk here afterwards to help burn off those really big portions, and I mean the plate was literally overflowing

Booked Cheery's for my wife's 50th Birthday celebration. Polly was so helpful sorting out menu's prior to the night. A group of circa 20 aged 12 - 82, had a fantastic night, the food and atmosphere couldn't have been better. The team at Cherry's were great. Would highly recommend for a function or a standard visit, we have there on previous occasions.

I had seen signposts for a few years from Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale for the 'Green Wood Centre' and did wonder what was there. Eventually, on a spare day I drove out to find the Centre. I haven't got round to looking at it yet- Cherry's Cafe stops me every time! What you get is the best eaterie I have ever been to in Telford- rustic and wholefood that you sense is sympathetic to vegetarianism and veganism without actually being exclusively so. Veggie food if you want it- meaty and fishy pates if you don't- with roast pork and roast beef baguettes and a Sunday roast on too. It is alternative and green without being 'in your face'- excellent and so friendly staff that it is a joy to tip them. A homemade vinaigrette that screams 'sell me commercially' on every table and as a free condiment while you dine in. Gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape. A family atmosphere that welcomes solos. Two words of warning- it only opens Wednesday to Sunday in GMT time and will be shut at 3. And the road to it is narrow and tight: only really good to approach from the southern end. But a must do when in this part of the world.

We held our daughter's 18th birthday bash in the adjacent hall to the Cherry Cafe and couldn't fault the food and service provided by the Cherry Cafe. The buffet was locally sourced and very tasty. The service was excellent and all delivered as planned. The room itself (provided at no additional cost and attached to the cafe ) provided a wonderful ambient setting on a cold Winter's day with the fairy lights and woodburner. Everyone had a great time and our daughter will has some great memories of her special day. I would highly recommend it as a cafe to visit or as a venue for a special day. Many thanks to all concerned.

We (4 adults) and baby went here for a xmas meal on Friday 21st December. Agree with 'HappyGiraffe' that the staff were friendly, the range of food available was good for the likes of us vegans. The service was good. The ambience was nice as well. The other patrons were very friendly and chatty and smiled at us when we came in, We had vegan nut roast. I had veg with it but the others had to have salad as they had a staff party on the same day. I did point out at the end that their menu only included 'suitable for vegetarians' so hopefully they would have taken this on board for the future. All in all an enjoyable experience and hope to go back there soon. :)

Lovely cafe serving a good range of food including vegetarian and vegan. Staff were friendly, service a bit slow but not too bad. Don't go here if you want to be entertained, it is a working site but mainly offices however it is an interesting little spot and you can go on walks from the centre to explore more of the area. There are bits of information dotted about the place.

This has a small cafe with a HUGE menu, 3 staff for about 7 customers and it still takes half an hour. We had home made fish cakes. They tasted ok, but looked like someone had dumped a soggy veg pattie on the plate, really unpleasent

I really love this cafe, it is by far the best in Ironbridge, although a little walk out from the main area it is worth it. The cafe is situated in The Green Wood Centre on the edge of Coalbrookdale, the site is very tranquil and has several old fashioned barns where wood working is carried out in the day, there are a few woodland paths near to the centre which are very pleasant for a stroll after lunch. The cafe itself is a wooden building raised up from the main walk way with a wooden area at the front with a few picnic tables, these over look the disused rail tracks and the whole area is surrounded by trees. Inside the cafe there are on the walls main meals (around £8) which are home made lasagne's or french cooked beef in a yorkshire pudding, salad nicoise etc. There are menus for sandwiches/deli baguettes ranging from £3.50 - £5.50 depending on your choice and they come with a well prepared salad. I have tried several different sandwiches and have always been impressed with the quality of the ingredients and importantly the bread. I had earlier today a local ham and tomato chutnet on wholemeal bread with fresh salad and a large cappucino and this came to £5.50, which is extremely good value, especially in this area. The service is brilliant, they are very knowledgeable about the area and the food they serve and are very friendly. The only downside is that the place is not open enough, so I struggle to get there as oten as I would hope, and I think they could do better with there advertising, I am sure i they opened earlier they could attract people to come to them or breakasts or example.- OPEN: weds to sunday 11-3pm, although they do sometimes open for functions in the evening so if you join there mailing list they will let you know.
