Green Routes Cafe in Oxford

Service not great and slow. Plant based menu pretty good. Plant reuben was tasty. Warm lentil salad very filling. Large portions. Iced coffee was very good.

A gem of a vegan Cafe on Magdalen Road. Food excellent and reasonably priced. A steady stream of students frequent this Cafe. Get there early in the day because it closes @ 4pm.

A small restaurant with outside seating that serves locally grown food. Interesting recipes and excellent sourdough!! Coffe was excellent too. Loved the friendly staff.

Great and super creative vegan menu, which is regularly updated. Most often a really chilled space, although sometimes (when a certain member of staff is working in particular) the music is way to loud to read, or have a quiet conversation :) The coffee is very, very good… Friendly staff… …Can thoroughly recommend.

I really enjoy green routes when I am actually served. It’s probably one of the better food choices in Oxford. Maybe I’m unlucky but each time I come here the service is quite slow. Once I had to wait 45 minutes to be served and I tried hailing the server but it felt so rude. If you are wanting a bit of food and coffee and are happy to wait until you’ve aged another year round the sun then it’s for you. They also don’t let you order at the till if you are sitting inside.

We visited this cafe due to staying locally at an Air bnb in the area. We attempted to visit on Saturday but it was full which clearly shows how popular it is. We made it this morning and we were not disappointed. Plenty of seating, yet cosy with a homely feel. The food and drinks were delivered, great service - despite being busy and we felt everything was reasonable priced. If only we had a little gem like this back at home! We will certainly visit again on our next trip to Oxford.

Amazing staff, amazing drinks, but closes much too early! In Oxford, if it's after 3:30 there's nowhere to go except a chain or a pub. Not everyone wants alcohol at...4pm.

Had never been in a vegan-only restaurant in my 58 years (to my eternal shame) but wanted my v daughter to have a good choice of dishes for an informal birthday lunch and also to give serious consideration for future alternatives to my existing diet. Selected some delicious, variable and good-sized plates, from the brunch menu. What emerged, was colourful, flavoursome and beautifully presented fayre, served in a light, airy setting by fun, attentive staff. Surprisingly substantial menu options came in at £7 & £9, as opposed to 'touristy' Oxford, where you would probably expect to pay £12 -£15 for lesser quality. £30 of food was easily enough for our three adult party and we ended up taking some away in boxes too. Will definitely be going back here to sample more. It's very easy to see why this place has attracted such positive and notable reviews, with inside and outside covers available in quirky surroundings. A complete gem which has produced a sea change in my attitude to vegan food.

Two sandwiches to go, very tasty but 20 mins to prepare. Ours was the only order they had on….come on - Wakey wakey!!

Pleasant veggie cafe in studenty hip Cowley area. Food good and imaginative, coffee and tea excellent. Thankfully they do offer cow’s milk!

I pick up coffee regularly here and sometimes lunch, always spotless in an interesting setting with a warm welcome in a very clean cafe. Fairly busy as its popular but has a fair amount of outdoor seating so never waiting for long. A great asset to East Oxford and needs to venture West!

We used to come here all the time and the food was great, but they've recently halved their menu offerings. Halved portion sizes too: we ordered French toast and was shocking the change. Need to rethink the prices if you want to continue being fair and enjoyable.

Beautiful atmosphere and incredible plant based food. I’m not vegan, just dairy free, and it is honestly some of the best cafe food and cakes I’ve ever had. (The coffee is also incredible and the people who work there are all lovely).

We dropped by for lunch and were lucky to get a table outside on a sunny November day. Good vegan menu and super friendly service (no attitude). Made to feel very welcome and left feeling set up for the rest of the day. Strongly recommended

I had the breakfast bap. And it was good. Nice people, quick and very nice food. I do recommend for a breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Excellent food. The Full Monty vegan breakfast was very filling and tasty, the tofu "scrambled-egg" was a revelation! Flat White was the best my partner had had in the UK. Friendly staff and a lovely relaxed decor. Great place to start the morning.

Great coffee, friendly service… just don’t expect a healthy, balanced meal! There were only a couple of options which did not involve a heavily processed meat substitute, and the sweeter dishes were extremely sweet. Probably great if you’re a vegan student trying to recover from...

Fantastic plant-based menu, great outdoor seating, and amazing coffee. Definitely recommended for a weekend coffee, or in the week when it's a little quieter
