Green Gates Renfrew in Renfrewshire

Ordered from this restaurant on Uber Eats many times and also sat in a few times too. Definitely one of my favourites in Renfrew. Our latest dine-in experience on Thursday 7th March was excellent. We didn't have a booking as it was a last minute idea but a table was cleared for us and we were sat quickly. The hospitality here is always fantastic, all of the staff are very friendly, welcoming and professional. We were recommended their new dumplings to try, so we went with the vegetable version. They came out after our poppadoms and were delicious, I could have eaten another portion! We also got a small glass of complimentary soup, which was very nice. It was like tomato soup with a twist, I'd like to have the full portion as a starter one day. For our mains, we ordered Paneer Tikka, Aloo Baingan (I can't remember its exact name but it was a vegetarian curry with aubergine, potato and peas), a portion of garlic naan and a portion of rice to share. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the Paneer Tikka was an absolutely gigantic portion. I expected small cubes of paneer in the curry sauce but it was a platter of large cubes of paneer cheese, onion and pepper on a cast iron dish with the curry sauce on the side. Absolutely delicious. The Aloo Baingan was also very nice - my partner always gets the Aloo Gobi Mattar, but this was a nice change. We both love the naan bread from here, it's huge and is just the perfect texture. Our bill was £43 (that's with two rounds of soft drinks each), so a very affordable restaurant despite the excellent quality, portions and service. If you are looking for a delicious, filling meal and wonderful service, look no further than Green Gates Renfrew. Would 100% recommend.

Went to Green Gates with family and all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I shared chicken pakora and tandoori broccoli, both were delicious. Lovely light batter on the pakora with tender chicken and broccoli was so tasty. I had a chickpea curry for my main, which was also delicious.Everyone commented on how tasty and fresh the food was. The staff were all super lovely and very attentive. Will definitely be back, and recommend to others.

The food is authentic indian and the service. I enjoyed the Lal Maas in particular. There is plenty of parking spaces...

What a shock to find our favorite Indian restaurant in the world so far within minutes of downtown Glasgow, Scotland while were traveling from the United States and Paris to visit friends. I can't recommend one thing over the other, as each dish the four of us enjoyed were absolutely wonderful, perfectly prepared and served by an enthusiastic and diverse staff of men and women. The curries, in particular were superb. Our only regret was that we didn't have enough time left to return before departing on our journey home. We met the owner, who works in the restaurant daily along with his manager Payal, who gets five stars herself for charm and enthusiasm.

Although we've lived in Renfrew many years, last night was only the second time we've been here. Both times our meals were absolutely delicious, hot, very tasty, nothing greasy or watery and all served on proper hot plates. Staff are lovely and attentive. We normally go to Glasgow for an Indian meal but it will be here from now on . AND bonus, we can walk there !!

Great atmosphere and the smell from the kitchen has your mouth watering. Staff are Brilliant and the food is to die for. Very wide range of dishes all prepaited to perfection. Highly recommend you try Grean Gates Renfrew if you live authentic Indian food

Exquisite atmosphere to accompany Exquisite food. Customer service 100%. You don't feel you are pushed into over ordering. All staff very professional but also extremely friendly. I will definitely be recomeding to everyone. Also the soup was gorgeous.

Decent food and reasonably priced for the set meal for 2. Chicken tikka masala was fab, but the butter chicken sauce was a little looser than I like and was a little cold which I think may have meant it had been sitting a while before I got it.

I've been here twice now with family. The menu is quite small but they are more than happy to make something that isn't on the menu. Overall, very accommodating.

Really nice food, lots of choice with lots of dishes that were new to me. We had a Chicken chat to start which was lovely and came in chick peas and a side salad. I had a main of chicken methi murgh and my husband had lamb bhuna. All of the dishes were fab. The service and staff were really friendly. Recommended.

Mid week Indo-Chinese street buffet was good.We enjoyed a variety of dishes from chilli chicken to Gobi manchurian.Gol Gappa and pav bhaji n samosa were out top favourite.Well done to Tarun and his team for the awesome spread. Will be back for sure.Thank you.

We visited restaurant as a family to try recently advertised Indo-Chinese buffet which was mouthwatering! The menu had all our favourites right from the starters such as paani puri, momos, veg 65, Honey chilli potatoes, soya chaap. After tasting yummy starters we enjoyed Manchurian with noodles & fried rice . The food at this restaurant never fails to impress. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The owner gives personal attention to all guests as well. A must visit for all foodies !!

I’ve never had the opportunity to enjoy a sit in meal here, however we have had a number of takeaway meals. The food is divine; perfectly cooked, fresh, with a superb range of rices and breads. There’s something for every palate, and the service is always quick and reliable. The staff are always very friendly when I’ve collected the food - and the restaurant is always busy - so that’s testament to the quality. Looking forward to sitting in for a meal next time.

Fabulous food and very attentive staff. Good value for money. We were a party of 5 and as the restaurant was busy on this Saturday evening, we were seated in the rear where the ambiance isn't as pleasant. However, I would thoroughly recommend the Green Gates. We had a wonderful time.

I’ve been to India twice and This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants ever ! The staff is always friendly, and the food always amazing !

Went for dinner for friends birthday. A kids birthday party was going on in the back,manager apologised for.the noise but at that point we didn't mind. Fast forward 25 minutes and the restaurant bit was full of screaming kids running riot with no adults in sight.ruined the ambience. Food was just below average.had chicken chasni like I have never had before.sauce was runny, 4 prices of chicken and rather stodgy rice.had a garlic nan ,was a good size but lacked flavour. First time there as we had heard so many good reviews.will.be our last

Top quality Indian cuisine, our meal was delicious. The peshwari naan with nuts and honey was best I've ever had. Left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.

We visit Green Gates on a very regular basis simply because the food is amazing and innovative. The chef is constantly coming up with new ideas and dishes and we have been fortunate enough to sample quite a few. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and the staff really take time to get to know their customers. I have included a few pictures of some of the food we enjoy - all 10/10

This is a very good authentic Indian restaurant owned and managed by an experienced and qualified chef! Food is nice, with great presentation. The quality is consistent. This place does fantastic king prawn dishes and the soya chaap here is the best I have had in the UK. The catering services offered by this place is also excellent. We recently got an event catered and the owner, Mr Tarun, took special care of our dietary requirements. The pricing is reasonable and Mr. Tarun didnt mind about quantities etc and focussed on providing a good experience. We will definitely be back here to dine and will most definitely consider catering whenever there is a need. Thanks.

Found this restaurant while on a trip to Glasgow on new year Eve , the food quality and taste was too 9 out of 10. The ambiance was good too and the menu was priced reasonably. The place was extremely busy which also meant the service was slower which we didn’t mind as the food was good and customer service by the staff was good too . 4/5

The worst Indian restaurant I have visited. Insane waiting time for Christmas meal. Took 3 hours to find a table then serve the food. Sloppy service. Plates, tables and glasses were dirty. The floor of their kitchen was filthy, with old food lying on the ground with nobody bothering to clean it up. Staff tried to overcharge twice. Vegetarian dish contained meat. Do not book this place for Christmas. They are only interested in taking your money and providing the lowest level of service. Best Indian Food in Glasgow The interior design is great, the food and service was excellent. When I visited Glasgow city with my friends for the first time, we tried Indian food for the first time in Glasgow. So we ordered 4 dishes, and all looked so reasonable also they cook fresh dishes instead of instant food. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the meal as well as our trip. A complete mess. 35 minute standing wait for a pre-booked Christmas meal. Mains took 90 minutes to come out. The vegetarian pakora contained chicken. Rice was served 10 minutes after the mains Dessert was melted ice cream. To top it off, they attempted to overcharge on the bill.

Very nice Indian food. I visited the restaurant for the second time with my husband. I would highly recommend for people who wish to have authentic Indian food.

Very disappointed. It took more than 2 hours for our delivery to arrive and that was after me chasing them up twice and assuring me the driver was on his way. When the food finally arrived it was cold and needed reheating and it was so late that nobody really felt like eating. The food was also average at best. It really ruined what should have been an enjoyable evening when we had family staying for the weekend. We have been promised a curry "on the house" when we order with them next time but after tonight unfortunately there will be no next time.

The food was amazing. The vibe and staff was good too. We ordered honey chilli potato, dal makhni and kadhai paneer. The taste was good. A typical North Indian taste creamy and spicy main course which we all crave for.
