I bought the set meal for 2 £23 ordered the traditional chicken curry the sauce seemed to separate on the plate very watery taste wasn’t anything special either had a lot better would not order again pakora sauce is also like water very little taste the actual chicken pakora was nice though value for money I would rate this takeaway a 3/10

Stumbled across this restaurant on social media and decided to give their three course lunch menu a try at a bargain £9.99 upon arrival however the price has risen to £10.99 which still ain't bad for a three course lunch - the surroundings were convivial and the staff attentive - the lunch menu was certainly varied with something there to please everyone - the restaurant itself was fairly busy indicating to me a loyal customer base - I opted for the additional popodoms with chutney at only £1 extra - this was followed by chicken bhuna and boiled rice with an optional chapati at extra cost - instead of ice cream I chose to have a coffee to finish off which was of good quality - the main portion wasn't huge but sufficient for a lunchtime treat - would l return - not really sure about that but certainly was excellent value for the price

Cosy atmosphere with Indian music playing in background. Decor good and comfortable seating. Service pleasant. Disappointed with the food though. We had Tandoori mix, the chicken was dry, lamb was tough, kofta fell apart and looked a strange colour, the prawn was rubbery .. I had bhuna sauce, it tasted fresh but was not smooth, large cut onion ,& tomatoes in it, unusual. Both the rice & sauce portions were on the small side. We will not be returning and I would not recommend.

This is one of the best restaurants out there. The staff are so welcoming and go out of their way to ensure that everything is to your liking. We have been on many occasions and have tried different dishes. All are perfect and tasty, especially the Tandoori king prawns and the peshwari naan. Will definitely be back and have been on multiple occasions.

I didn't enjoy chicken bhuna I ask for hot wasn’t hot and only 4 slices of chicken was in the bhuna

Lovely restaurant and although we've only just found it, we will definitely be back. The food was outstanding, service was first class and the staff were so attentive, pleasant and courteous and great prices too. Dee was our waitress and couldn't have done any more for us. Highly recommend it.

Went here for lunch on 28th June for our sons 23rd birthday, food from start to finish was outstanding, I've had a few Indians out a few different places and this was the best one I've ever had by far. We all had Pakora to start, 2 of us had the Masala 1 with Chicken Tikka other with Lamb both said they were amazing, another had Chicken Korma, couldn't fault it either, and I had Chicken Tikka Chasni best one I've ever had. The Garlic Naans were the best we've ever had. If you've never been......GO, I just can't think of any negatives about it.

First time eating here and had a very tasty meal with my grandson and we both enjoyed it so much and will return it was early evening and was quiet but very relaxed, the staff were lovely and attentive could not fault the service

Visited last Thursday with my sister and on Friday with hubby. Today meet up with childhood friends/neighbours with one visiting from Canada. All 3 days, friendly attentive welcomes. Nothing too much bother. The food as always was fresh, well presented and oh so tasty. Chicken pakora then with Lamb bhoona being my favourite Rice and Nan bread sometimes Garlic nan. Then a lovely coffee. Today changed for a tantalising tasty chasni having to try a taste of the korma sauce which was really smooth with coconut flavours bursting through. We travel from Elderslie to here and are never disappointed. 1st class 👏 👌

The first we have visited this wonderful Indian restaurant, and it certainly won't be the last. We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon and were seated within a moment. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service exemplary, and the food was superb!

1st time visit and will return for sure. Staff were friendly and attentive. Seating is comfortable and toilets immaculate. Well done Royal Taj ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

have been to The Royal Taj a few times now, both sit-in and takeaway and have sampled many of their curries - the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Takeaway is always ready to collect on arrival, and the table service is prompt and pleasant as well. Particularly excellent dishes are the South Indian garlic chilli and the Kathmandu Namaste, although the latter is unfortunately not available on the takeaway menu for some reason, hoping this will change soon. That aside, a highly recommended Indian restaurant in the west end of Paisley, definitely worth the trip!

My wife and I had, what we can only describe as an OUTSTANDING culinary experience, we had chilli paneer to start, STUNNING, then a King Prawn Sagwala, beyond PERFECTION, the garlic naan was beautiful. Well done Royal Taj, stay consistent.

First time trying Royal Taj. We chose the Tapas menu which was the perfect amount for 2. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

The pre theatre menu which isn't really pre theatre as it goes on till 10pm, is outstanding value at £14.95 for a starter, main and either rice or nan. Me being me, I ordered a rice and a nan which cost an extra £2.95 however, even at that, for £17.90 with a starter (6 large pieces) main of normal sized portions, a normal sized nan and rice it really is a wonderful experience on your wallet and taste wise it's right up there. In today's world where eating out is very expensive, The Royal Taj with the delightful staff is a welcome break at under £18.00 all in, than some more expensive alternatives.

Never had a runny curry till tonight. We picked it up. Don't know what it is, but it's bland goo. £27 for 1 curry, 1 rice, popadoms, spiced onion, and two nans. I'll not be back.

Unbelievable. Best Indian meal I've had in a few years! The service was superb, the food was all fantastic! 5 of us shared starter platters and poppadoms, followed by 5 different curries, all cooked to perfection.

Great choice of food on set menu, pipping hot, freshly made. Perfect wine to go with it. Remaxed atmosphere, gentle music and excellent friendly staff

Very welcoming. Good atmosphere and lovely surroundings. Excellent service and very prompt in taking our order. Meals were excellent and given poppadoms while we waited for our meals. Obviously fleshly cooked and ample servings. Staff were so friendly and efficient. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back! 100% recommend trying this establishment

Second visit to the Royal Taj and this time a bit disappointed. Chicken chasni tasted nothing like the chasni (even a different colour sauce) from what I had been served before and paid £3.50 for a garlic nan and it was half the size of the one we were presented with on our last visit. Will give it another visit in a couple of weeks.

You've not tasted the best Chasni ever unless you've been here. Oh forgot about the Peshwari nan, amazing.

Worst customer service for 2nd time. Not recommended. They service is very slow. We have ordered starter he gave us main and he is say thet you have order mains

After a long drive from England I popped in here with my old man and 4 kids for some food after another resteraunt was closed. The kids were looked after, no problems at all, friendly and attentive staff. My Cobra beer on tap was lovely, our pakoras was crispy and fresh, nann bread thin and crispy and my Madras was excellent. I also took a takeaway for my sister who was equally impressed. We will be returning when next up from England.

Excellent, freshly cooked food, at a good price. It’s as simple as that. We’ve been a few times over the last few months for takeaways and sit in.

I attended Royal Taj and ordered to takeaway. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Balti with Pilau Rice. The description of the Balti saying "hot but very tasty" took me away from my initial decision of Garlic Chilli. I'm disappointed with the choice. The Balti isn't very tasty, mostly the taste of base curry sauce and lack of said taste of any other flavours. Make it more tasty Royal Taj.

We returned to the Taj as a family of 6 for my birthday, the food was sublime, various pakoras including my fish pakora was simply outstanding, usual top quality freshly cooked to order, we had an assortment of chicken and lamb dishes which were fabulous, chocolate cake and ice cream topped it off, huge thanks to Mike and the guys for the day and service and of course the aperitif's, made my day

Visited many different places for food. The Royal Taj is however is our favourite go to. The food always fresh, tasty and so well presented. Bonus is the friendly staff.

I just had a delivery from royal taj. Hands down, one of the best curries I’ve ever had. Lots of lamb in my madras, the naan was perfect and was the pilau rice. 100% would have it again. Well done to the chef. Very good

Thought we would give the lunch a try and so glad we did. Food excellent, staff courteous and attentive. Very good value for money for the lunch menu. Will definitely be back in the near future. Loved the written gesture on the bottom of bill which was "thank you" with a smiley face.....

Very nice welcome from a very nice waitress. Showed us to our seat and commented on our mode of dress ( Tramps 😂) . The menu was 3 courses for 9.95 Well I must say service and food was above our expectations for the price . Our first visit ,but will not be our last . Great value for money .

Found a pubic hair in my pakora half way though a meal. My whole family stopped eating and the food was wasted. I contacted them and was given an apology. Can't possibly eat food from here again, absolutely disgusted

Everything’s light. As you would expect from the price. Even the nan was to. Portions were done in. South Indian garlic chilli had no heat. Dreadful.

If we could give 6 stars we would. Our dinner tonight was absolutely gorgeous. Would highly recommend the mixed sharer plater, the Pasana curry and the Peshwari Naan. This was the best Peshwari Naan we have ever had. 12 out of 10, will be back.

Great food, wish this was my local restaurant, some of the best Indian food I’ve had

This is one of my locals, we have been quite a few times and Ive reviewed it before, we decided to book for xmas dinner at £36 per head, the place was fully booked, I often get the south indian garlic chilli chicken as does my daughter in law, The restaurant prides its self on serving fresh pakora not the re heated garbage, unfortunately my wifes pakora if not reheated was burnt to a cinder and remained uneaten, it was crispy, hard and very unappetising, the other pakoras were fresh and tasty, the mains for the wife and my son were as expected but mine and my daughter in laws certainly wasnt south indian garlic chilli chicken as the dished served were quite sweet. The guys were ran off their feet despite additional help I dare say the kitchen also had additional staff, I decided not to pile more pressure on them and ate my meal as Im not over fussed but my daughter in laws meal went home with me which I ate the following day, we will put it down to being very busy but was it worth £36 per head, to be honest it wasnt much different to what we generally get on a Saturday for £10 One of our 4 pakoras was burnt, two of our meals were wrong dishes, one was left, not a great result as we were all looking forward to our meals, turned out to be a talking point for the wrong reasons, as a table of 4 we spent close to £200 inc drinks It was disappointing but wont deter us from returning, another place has opened close by but if they dont alter the pricing they wont be busy which is good for the Taj which is generally good, fresh quality at reasonable prices esp on a Saturday The staff werent aware of our disappointment, Im sure they would have rectified it but we felt we had waited long enough understandably on xmas day but just werent prepared to extend our visit into an uncomfortable duration which it was becoming, I was out voted as the others couldnt be fussed with the complaints

Our first trip to The Royal Taj and have to say the food and service were exceptionally good. Would highly recommend if you're visiting Paisley.

Absolute disgrace, 2 hours wait on a small meal delivery, if they are too busy then say at time of order but this should have been 45 mins and 2 hours later its still normal arrived, food will probably be great when it does arrive

Ordered on just eat, over an hour late, food luke warm. Ordered the royal mixed grill which was a small container of a few bits of meat for 16 quid. Called up and was advised it came with rice and naan ect. If you want authentic sauce you'd be better served out a jar, tikka masalla and South Indian garlic sauce was bog standard. To finish it off there was a black hair stuck to our chicken. In the BIN and ordered a Maccies now. Cheers Royal Taj

Great value. Had the set Kmeal for £15.00 ie pre 6 pm.on Saturday. Service could have been a bit better but this was great value and v tasty food. When we left, the place was full, so I would book if going later . Parking is easy if you turn left down the side street before the lights if the resteraunt is on your left.

Literally just walked out this restaurant and had to review . Best Indian food I’ve had locally and we’ve eaten in most Indian restaurants in paisley . Fresh authentic food with excellent serve and lovely staff . Give this place a try , you will not be disappointed. X
