Bought a lamb biryani with a naan bread. Paid £11 for basically a tub full of rice with 4 bits of lamb. Go elsewhere if you looking for value for money.

Hemos estado aquí un número y siempre hemos tenido una bienvenida muy amable. Las pakoras eran preciosas y frescas y los currys eran excelentes. Teníamos pollo con chile al ajo del sur de la India y pollo jaipuri con arroz hervido y un pan naan simple. Bien presentado y una comida deliciosa.

The food was okay, not too good but not bad either, some of our starters were cold in the middle and then when we asked to take our food away with us, they mixed my vegetarian food in with the meat my family had? therefore couldn't finish it but not missing out really, just disappointing they didn't think to separate the food.

I picked up a meal deal for two take away on Sunday. The food was fresh and flavorful. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the poppadoms and spiced onions and chicken pakora starter. My South Indian garlic chili with lamb was amazing 🤩 Royal Taj has become our new go to Indian take away! 👏

Used Royal Taj for the first time tonight. We got the meal for 2 which was decent. Some of the starters were not eaten at the time but when we went to eat them later on we noticed a hair in the Mango Chutney. This has put us right off so won't be back.

This was my wife and I first time at your restaurant, the experience was amazing great food & atmosphere and service even though there was a 40th on very busy service and staff were great.lovely gesture of a liqour after our food. WILL BE BACK SOON. THANKS

The Royal Taj is the best Indian in Paisley by far in my opinion. The staff are great and so is the food. The restaurant is absolutely spotless as well. A really good value for money restaurant as well.

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would, fantastic service, wonderful staff and amazing food. First visit to the restaurant but it definitely won’t be the last!

Been twice won't be back. First time in my life I have found a bone in a chicken pakora in my life (chicken breast meat) decomposing bone in the meat DISGUSTING. Left without eating our mains and the manager had the cheek to charge me for the fish pakora and 2 soft drinks. Won't be back 👎

Meal deal: paneer masala and Kashmiri korma. Watery, tasteless, strange colour. This is easily the poorest curry I’ve had in living memory. Avoid this place.

Word o mouth was enough for 3 of us, to enter this wee Jem o a restaurant on our family get together. Before going in at around 6pm, we tried the buddies pub first, and really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, and reasonably priced drinks. With having a couple o pints in buddies, I checked out the taj toilets, and first impression was , spotlessly clean, and alway maintain that if that clean, so is the kitchen. Also nice a local for us, with sunny Renfrew a stone throw away. Will definitely be back at some point, and would thoroughly recommend the prices as well. Nice one.🥳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

Really, very disappointed with my carry out; veg pakora were inedible, rock hard & over done! Curry was bland & nan was cold.

Another fantastic dinner at the royal Taj, as usual the starters were fresh and delicious, we opted for mix & haggis pakoras with the obligatory poppadoms and condiments, before ordering a chicken tikka biryani and a methi gosht for main and a garlic naan to share. Brilliant as always, a tremendous Indian dining experience!

I had a very disappointing experience with Royal Taj. Both the naan and tandoori chapati were poorly made—parts were raw, and others were burnt, making them completely inedible. Parts of the chapati were so raw that I could roll it back into a dough ball. The paneer makhani was also not what is expected. As an Indian with a lifetime of experience eating at Indian restaurants, I’ve never had a paneer makhani like this. Not sure they've ever tried real makhani sauce before. Also it was very watery. I called the restaurant to address these issues, but they were unhelpful and insisted that I was wrong. I am very disappointed by this as serving raw food is not something to be taken lightly. Any decent establishment would have offered to replace the raw items. Overall, this meal was a major letdown, and I ended up having to order from Domino’s instead. I wouldn’t recommend Royal Taj based on this experience.

have been to The Royal Taj a few times now, both sit-in and takeaway and have sampled many of their curries - the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Takeaway is always ready to collect on arrival, and the table service is prompt and pleasant as well. Particularly excellent dishes are the South Indian garlic chilli and the Kathmandu Namaste, although the latter is unfortunately not available on the takeaway menu for some reason, hoping this will change soon. That aside, a highly recommended Indian restaurant in the west end of Paisley, definitely worth the trip!

Whenever I’m in Glasgow or surrounding we make sure to visit this hidden gem! Delicious food, great friendly staff, and perfect as they cater for gluten free and vegan. The whole package. The food is so good and well worth a visit! Genuinely such a delight!!

This is one of the best restaurants out there. The staff are so welcoming and go out of their way to ensure that everything is to your liking. We have been on many occasions and have tried different dishes. All are perfect and tasty, especially the Tandoori king prawns and the peshwari naan. Will definitely be back and have been on multiple occasions.

Visited Royal Taj tonight for the first time. It was such a great experience. Great surroundings, absolutely fabulous food and staff who provide an excellent service. We will be back.

A hidden gem. First class food and service. Worth the trip.

Decided on a whim to visit, only one other table occupied. Strange for a Friday night, Anyway easy enough to park. We had pappadums to start (1 each) mixed platter starter then a main each. Few drinks each and it’s £80. Toilets clean however we felt it was expensive, Be nice to see busier with more of a buzz but with those prices in Paisley it’s going to have to rely on its takeaway side..

I bought the set meal for 2 £23 ordered the traditional chicken curry the sauce seemed to separate on the plate very watery taste wasn’t anything special either had a lot better would not order again pakora sauce is also like water very little taste the actual chicken pakora was nice though value for money I would rate this takeaway a 3/10

Decor pleasant. Only one table occupied but the waiter still had to check his diary for availability? Chicken, lamb & kofta tasted dry & clearly not fresh. Portions small, our rice was in a finger bowl. Waiters continually watching over us. We tried this restaurant partly because of wonderful reviews .. but I definitely would not recommend this place and will not return.

Stumbled across this restaurant on social media and decided to give their three course lunch menu a try at a bargain £9.99 upon arrival however the price has risen to £10.99 which still ain't bad for a three course lunch - the surroundings were convivial and the staff attentive - the lunch menu was certainly varied with something there to please everyone - the restaurant itself was fairly busy indicating to me a loyal customer base - I opted for the additional popodoms with chutney at only £1 extra - this was followed by chicken bhuna and boiled rice with an optional chapati at extra cost - instead of ice cream I chose to have a coffee to finish off which was of good quality - the main portion wasn't huge but sufficient for a lunchtime treat - would l return - not really sure about that but certainly was excellent value for the price

Cosy atmosphere with Indian music playing in background. Decor good and comfortable seating. Service pleasant. Disappointed with the food though. We had Tandoori mix, the chicken was dry, lamb was tough, kofta fell apart and looked a strange colour, the prawn was rubbery .. I had bhuna sauce, it tasted fresh but was not smooth, large cut onion ,& tomatoes in it, unusual. Both the rice & sauce portions were on the small side. We will not be returning and I would not recommend.

Went here for lunch on 28th June for our sons 23rd birthday, food from start to finish was outstanding, I've had a few Indians out a few different places and this was the best one I've ever had by far. We all had Pakora to start, 2 of us had the Masala 1 with Chicken Tikka other with Lamb both said they were amazing, another had Chicken Korma, couldn't fault it either, and I had Chicken Tikka Chasni best one I've ever had. The Garlic Naans were the best we've ever had. If you've never been......GO, I just can't think of any negatives about it.

Visited last Thursday with my sister and on Friday with hubby. Today meet up with childhood friends/neighbours with one visiting from Canada. All 3 days, friendly attentive welcomes. Nothing too much bother. The food as always was fresh, well presented and oh so tasty. Chicken pakora then with Lamb bhoona being my favourite Rice and Nan bread sometimes Garlic nan. Then a lovely coffee. Today changed for a tantalising tasty chasni having to try a taste of the korma sauce which was really smooth with coconut flavours bursting through. We travel from Elderslie to here and are never disappointed. 1st class 👏 👌

My wife and I had, what we can only describe as an OUTSTANDING culinary experience, we had chilli paneer to start, STUNNING, then a King Prawn Sagwala, beyond PERFECTION, the garlic naan was beautiful. Well done Royal Taj, stay consistent.

First time trying Royal Taj. We chose the Tapas menu which was the perfect amount for 2. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

The pre theatre menu which isn't really pre theatre as it goes on till 10pm, is outstanding value at £14.95 for a starter, main and either rice or nan. Me being me, I ordered a rice and a nan which cost an extra £2.95 however, even at that, for £17.90 with a starter (6 large pieces) main of normal sized portions, a normal sized nan and rice it really is a wonderful experience on your wallet and taste wise it's right up there. In today's world where eating out is very expensive, The Royal Taj with the delightful staff is a welcome break at under £18.00 all in, than some more expensive alternatives.

Never had a runny curry till tonight. We picked it up. Don't know what it is, but it's bland goo. £27 for 1 curry, 1 rice, popadoms, spiced onion, and two nans. I'll not be back.

Unbelievable. Best Indian meal I've had in a few years! The service was superb, the food was all fantastic! 5 of us shared starter platters and poppadoms, followed by 5 different curries, all cooked to perfection.

Second visit to the Royal Taj and this time a bit disappointed. Chicken chasni tasted nothing like the chasni (even a different colour sauce) from what I had been served before and paid £3.50 for a garlic nan and it was half the size of the one we were presented with on our last visit. Will give it another visit in a couple of weeks.

You've not tasted the best Chasni ever unless you've been here. Oh forgot about the Peshwari nan, amazing.

After a long drive from England I popped in here with my old man and 4 kids for some food after another resteraunt was closed. The kids were looked after, no problems at all, friendly and attentive staff. My Cobra beer on tap was lovely, our pakoras was crispy and fresh, nann bread thin and crispy and my Madras was excellent. I also took a takeaway for my sister who was equally impressed. We will be returning when next up from England.

I attended Royal Taj and ordered to takeaway. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Balti with Pilau Rice. The description of the Balti saying "hot but very tasty" took me away from my initial decision of Garlic Chilli. I'm disappointed with the choice. The Balti isn't very tasty, mostly the taste of base curry sauce and lack of said taste of any other flavours. Make it more tasty Royal Taj.

We returned to the Taj as a family of 6 for my birthday, the food was sublime, various pakoras including my fish pakora was simply outstanding, usual top quality freshly cooked to order, we had an assortment of chicken and lamb dishes which were fabulous, chocolate cake and ice cream topped it off, huge thanks to Mike and the guys for the day and service and of course the aperitif's, made my day

I just had a delivery from royal taj. Hands down, one of the best curries I’ve ever had. Lots of lamb in my madras, the naan was perfect and was the pilau rice. 100% would have it again. Well done to the chef. Very good

Very nice welcome from a very nice waitress. Showed us to our seat and commented on our mode of dress ( Tramps 😂) . The menu was 3 courses for 9.95 Well I must say service and food was above our expectations for the price . Our first visit ,but will not be our last . Great value for money .
