Greek Grill House in Manchester

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, they overcharge and try cheat you! I was overcharged £12! The two staff members were so incredibly rude, this was on an evening and it’s very clear they intentionally are taking advantage of people on an evening (after a few drinks) assuming they will be too drunk to notice. Please make sure you check how much they are charging before paying. Absolutely disgusting. No respect for customers, I’m appalled. The food itself has gone down hill, I used to like coming here and enjoyed the food but the theft and shocking customer service is not worth it.

Had a very unpleasant experience here today unfortunately. I asked for a halloumi wrap, minus the wrap. I was told that this was impossible. Just asked for the contents of the wrap, without the wrap, in a box instead which I could see a big pile of. They said they have to charge me £4 extra for the price of a box. They also said that they ‘didn’t have a license’ to sell boxes. Very difficult staff, with an unhelpful attitude. Won’t be going here again.

Rip off. If you are in the market for very average food and there are absolutely no other options available, please at least pay with cash. I paid by card. He said it hadn’t gone through and asked me to try again. I pointed out it was showing as already pending. He assured me it was an error and would be refunded. He then went through the same rigmarole with my colleague. Again he assured us it was just a thing his card reader did and it wouldn’t charge twice. Two days on and we can both confirm that we have been charged £12 x2. So that’s £24 for one very very average gyros.

I don’t often leave reviews, but the service here is dreadful - the man serving me was really rude, doesn’t seem to know anything about good customer service or even just how to communicate in a polite way. I’m surprised they have not picked up on this from several other reviews - I have been here twice and both times been served by the same man, who has been particularly rude. The food is not good enough - overall lacked flavour and chicken was really dry. Need to reflect on reviews and improve, better Greek options around.

Unfortunately 1 star is too generous. The food is absolutely disgusting. The meat is old and hard the salad is old and soggy, chips are undercooked oven type chips which were cold. I couldn't even eat it and at £10.50 for a box it's not worth it.

Way too overpriced for what it is. £9.50 for a basic chicken wrap and it wasn’t even very good. Probably the worst gyros I’ve ever had.

I'm Greek, and I can say that this is probably the worst gyros I've ever had.

Went for a quick bite, horrible service. The guy was chatting to a girl, then asked what we want and carried on talking away. Then asked the same thing again, food was average and overpriced.

Horrendous service, gave me half the portion of those that ordered after me, wrap fell apart as he put it together and he just gave it to me anyway. Not worth the price. Tzatziki was good though

Hair on the food. Food did not seem to fresh, even it was 12 at day time. Nothing Greek here. Total disappointment 😞

Lovely, fresh Greek food. The serving size is reasonable but would probably expect a little bit more for the price, otherwise it’s great e.g. include a drink I paid £8 for a chicken wrap (a box is £9.50)

The food was embarrassing. Two gyros and 'halloumi fries' set me back £26. The halloumi wasn't even fries. It was charred on a grill. Priced at £6.50 I have attached a picture of the 'fries'. False advertisement. I asked politely for a box and my server refused. I can see why this is a pop up near bars. Sober people wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Steer clear

Used to love this place until last night, after 10 minutes queuing and getting to the front of the line they decided to shut, and rather than serving the people in the line which had been waiting for ages they turned everybody away, they was rude! Will never waste my money here again.

I visited the cute outdoors cantina of the Greek Grill House, for getting some “birthday lunch” to treat my colleagues, at work 🍢🌯🌮🍱 🎂!! The friendly employees explained the menu to me, and I honestly had to restrain myself from diving onto their worktop!! Delicious gyros on the rotisserie, prime cuts of halal chicken & lamb, along with burgers and 🧆 kebabs🍢 were inviting me to have a taste!! There was the vegetarian option🌱 as well, with vegan burger 🍔 or pita wrap 🫓 but I went for their delicious “boxes” for 2 people! The boxes included a big amount of grilled meat served with salad 🥗 chips 🍟 halloumi sticks 🧀 and your choice of sauces 😍😋!! I chose this option so I got happily back with 3 variety boxes and cans of refreshments, only to enjoy a fantastic and healthy Birthday meal 🥘, made with craft & love❤️ along with my very happy colleagues, who were kind enough to share the joy with me💗🌯🥂🎊 Thank you “Greek Grill House” for an unforgettable and most tasty experience🥰!!!!!

I loved the food here, the customer service was glorious and the food was flavourful, I cant sleep now because I want more food, it was exceptional here.

Rotten place. We spent almost £50.00 on gyros including 2 full sized ones for the children. The staff didn’t smile throughout the visit, and looked like they couldn’t be less interested (If you hate your job go elsewhere). The gyros took ages and were handed to us one by one so were luke warm. As the children were struggling, we asked if they had a spare box. This was refused as they equated the box with a bread wrap so we couldn’t have both ! We then offered to buy a box from them and this was abruptly refused also. Food not good value and rude service unacceptable. Greek Hour off Bury New Road is far superior, friendly and a fraction of the price. Highly dissatisfied 🤬

Very disappointing experience. - the 2 girls operating the van looked like they would rather be anywhere else - meat was dry and they just cover it with loads of tsatsiki - literally impossible to eat the wrap without dropping half of it in the floor. I asked them for an empty lunch box so it wouldn’t end up feeding the pigeons…. It was too much to ask. If I wanted a “plate” I should have paid for a platter and not a wrap…. Sure enough most of my food ended up on the floor. Won’t be coming back

I have heard so many good reviews about this place. I thought to try a mix halloumi and chicken box. And it was tasty and I could tell it was freshly made and I could taste the tasty sauce it reminded me of my time in Greece. Would definitely recommend. :)

Very bad and not tasty dry gyros, I told the people not to serve it if it wasn't freshly cook as I would be able to tell, been Greek and worked in takeout for 20years. They still proceeded serving and through away 3/4 of it as it was dry and old

Miserable service for a very expensive sandwich that wasn’t particularly great.

After hearing rave reviews about this place and missing some comfort food from home thought would give this place a try. For something that is a nice reasonably priced treat in Greece this was £9.50 for a single pork wrap which was small and not very authentic used frozen chips and then covered it in sriracha which is a mix of cuisines. Clearly catering for drunk punters from the nearby bars will not be returning.

Just a naff takeaway being served from a trailer. Two stars because it didn't give me food poisoning.

Got the Mixed Box and won't be going back. The Chicken was so over cooked and dry. The Pork was equally over cooked and seemed more fat than meat. The halloumi was good as was the pita, but neither of those are prepared in-house, so I can't really give them credit for either. Felt dirty after eating this, of what I did eat...

Disappointed in this particular place. I'm all for giving local/independent places a chance, but I got 2 chips in my mixed gyros, 2! Feel a bit short changed to say the least

Pretty bad! Nothing in my wrap was fresh: cold chips and chicken pieces, the wrap itself also lacked freshness, tasted like a bad quality supermarket wrap...

Amiable hosts, but badly organised. Pay first, then wait, and wait....for pretty low quality food. Maybe Covid-era success (the queue!) has gone to their heads. Perhaps the operators should be thinking about how to keep their market AFTER the competition re-opens. Frozen chips were low-end industrial, lazily prepared, kept warm too long. Tzatziki can be a joy, but this isn't. If you are going to serve grilled halloumi it needs to be grilled, not warmed. Chicken lumps had been kept warm too long: hard and brittle. Serving food jumbled in a wrap is one thing: dumping the wrap contents in a cardboard box, no divisions, is just a mess. Charging an extra quid or so for the box really isn't on. Maybe consider offering tzatziki separately in a tub, chips/bread in a bag: or consider boxes with divisions to keep the chips/bread away from the mush. It gets an extra star for initiative and being open in the Covid days. But it's not a place I'd return to.

Was taken here by a friend and was not disappointed. Staff were polite and friendly and the food was prepared right in front of me. It’s a shame it was so good because I would have loved to enjoy it for longer than I did but when it’s this good I can’t help myself eating it quickly. Will certainly be returning in the future.
