I recently hosted an engagement do on the 1st March at The Well, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Abbimay and the team went above and beyond, making sure we were well taken care of, and the service was spot on. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the drinks were flowing! Huge thanks ❤️

We ordered the signature sharing steak platter, but shortly after placing the order and making payment, a member of staff returned to inform us that they'd unfortunately run out of it. We chose something else, only for the manager to come over not long after to let us know that the schnitzel wasn’t available either. So, we had to change our order yet again. In the end, we went with the deluxe burger and the Korean fried chicken – both were decent. However, the flat iron steak, which we specifically asked to be cooked medium rare, arrived quite underdone – closer to rare. Drinks were okay, but overall, it wasn’t the most enjoyable experience for a family meal out over the weekend. A bit disappointing, to be honest.

Disappointing. Prices were out the roof for the amount of food you're getting. 2 glasses of coke (which was half ice) was £8, The burger looked like it was only 3 inches wide (litterally). Food mediocre, was served RAW broccoli with mystery green gloop.

Place was completely empty yet our food took 45 minutes to arrive. We ordered drinks, 20 minutes later I had to go to the bar to see where these were. Went to the bar only to find our drinks waiting there. I asked the woman behind the bar if I was meant to have come to collect these myself, she said (entirely unapologetically) no, someone should have brought them to us. Roast was mediocre and massively overpriced at £20. Not impressed.

1.) The cocktails were over prices. 2.) The food was extremely poor. We ordered two Bang Bang Chicken Fried rice. They came slightly warm, we tasted the rice which was hard and tastless, and seemed like packet rice (Uncle Ben's probably better). So we asked for them to be heated up. Returned the same, slightly warm. So we ended up not eating it. 3.) Service wasn't great. Had to wait a long time to ve seated eventhough a table was booked. And hard to find service, having to try catch the attention of anyvwaiter. And with the issue of the food, the waiter was not very helpful and had an attitude. Definitely won't be going there again.

It was ok, the table layout wasn't great, one of the meals had to be returned as it was rock hard. Cocktails took about 20 minutes to come out. My own meal was tasty but quite small for a main meal. I would choose somewhere else next time.

We booked here as a family for pre drinks and food before a show. Never again! Yes, the 2 for 1 cocktails were ok but the service and food was horrendous! Over 2hrs for chicken wraps? 1 samosa for 8.95? A rude waitress? Somebody had to share their chips with the group and wrap the fajita in tissue to eat on the way to our show it took that long. I wouldn't say it was overly busy either. No excuse. Avoid if you value your money and time!

We ate yesterday, party of 4 with 2 children. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Was left waiting a while before we had to actually ask to order. Drinks eventually came. Food after about 35 mins. Told some of kids options reduced/off menu, meals for kids came, no sides, half eaten meal then told no peas, no sweetcorn when eldest child had almost finished meal and youngest actually fell asleep at table. Then after another 20 mins they brought 1/2 of one carrot slices in 4 peices (£1) and slice of garlic bread (£1) Ordered another drink waited a further 15mins. Absolute chaos, disorganised. I would understand if it was full but it wasn't. Need to get their act together and get staff trained. Spoilt the lunch completely for us all. Little one didn't even eat her food I'd paid for because of waiting so long she went to sleep.

Went today to Xmas markets. So we chose here for a meal. Waited over 35 mines for food to come. Had to go ask if ready. When came was not even warm. Told them took away to replace. By the time my food came back. My husband had eaten his. And then had to wait for me. Was very disappointed. As don't go to Manchester much. When we do we treat ourselves to a meal. This is the 3rd restaurant we have tried in the corn exchange. Defo won't be going again

I dined solo, and Stefan made me feel so welcome and well looked after. His recommendation of the Bang Bang Chicken was spot on—it was perfectly cooked, with an amazing balance of spice and flavor. The 2-for-1 cocktails were a fantastic treat, and each drink was crafted to perfection. Stefan’s friendly and attentive service truly made the experience memorable. We ate here as a party of 7 on Friday evening. We had private dining in ' the well' which is a beautiful room in the downstairs of the building. Food was delicious and delivered really smoothly all evening, starters were out together. Mains were out together and desserts were out together with no delays so the evening flowed really well. Nobody in my party waited for drinks we were really looked after. The place was busy as it's right near the christmas markets but the atmosphere was great and the service was brilliant. Will definately be back and wouldn't hesitate to choose this venue again for a group meal, they couldn't do enough for us. Thank you to all of the Banyan Corn Exchange team for a lovely evening and especially Julian who was our server all evening and did a fabulous job.

Upon entering the restaurant, my first impression was a bit unsettling, as I noticed the chef in the kitchen cooking while simultaneously speaking on the phone—a curious mix of multitasking that seemed to detract from the focus one would expect in such a setting. To make matters worse, despite the restaurant being only half-full, we were seated at an unusually small table for three people. The occasion was a birthday celebration, and my partner had received a dining voucher for two. We began with squid as a starter, which unfortunately tasted more like overcooked, burnt chips than a delicacy. For the main course, we ordered a steak and Korean chicken. The steak was disappointing, especially when we realized we had to pay an extra £5 for a few slices of toast—something that felt quite unreasonable. The Korean chicken, while decent in flavor, was unexpectedly spicy, even though I had double-checked with the waiter about its level of heat when placing the order. For dessert, we opted for crumble, but it failed to resemble anything close to the classic dish. Instead, it tasted like a cheap, pre-made cake of indistinct origin—nothing like the comforting, homey crumble one would hope for. Overall, the experience left much to be desired, and sadly, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience.

Booked a table for a family of five at the corn exchange for my daughter’s birthday. We arrived and was told that the reservation couldn’t be found, we was then seated and sat there for 30 minutes and no one had been to us so to take our order, so we grabbed a waiter as they walked past and asked whether we go to the the bar or does someone take your order, he said someone would come to us. We ordered food and drinks, the drinks came about 10 minutes later…. We sat and watched as other people’s food orders were just left on the side for well over 10 minutes to be collected by staff. Our food came about 20 minutes later, it was warm-ish but very standard, my daughter’s burger was burnt and had a blonde hair in it. The portions were rather small, Safe to say we left £140 lighter and still quite hungry. Also just to mention the music was so loud you had to shout to each other to talk, we left very disappointed and unfortunately doubt that we would bother visiting again.

A busy place to hang out but wouldn’t go back. Service: we were shown to a dirty table. Food: very small portions for the money and it was microwaved rubbish and lukewarm. Atmosphere: it was very busy. Took ages to get served at the bar as only one person serving. Despite being there for 2hours our table was never cleared of the food plates nor were we ever asked if everything was okay. Recommend: Not from us.

Dreadful. Staff unorganised. Ordered a Bloody Mary with my breakfast, paid for it and then was told they didn’t have the ingredients to make it. Said I could choose a different drink and they will bring over the Bloody Mary once they have been to the shop for the sauce but that didn’t happen. Ordered 2 poached eggs and avocado. All the eggs over done…. Really poor. Such a shame as we have been to the one in Spinningfields and it was really nice. The place was dead so I don’t know how the food and service can be so bad. Avoid!

We arrived early Saturday afternoon, there were 3 people in our party but it wasn’t very busy. Host seemed like she couldn’t be bothered being there and she served us when we ordered food. It seemed a bit chaotic. Food took a little while to come, we ordered starters from the sharer menu then got 3 burgers. It was up there being the most bland food we have all eaten in our lives. Chips were meh and the burgers were just warm, not very hot. Our bill came to £81 and it was not worth that at all. Wouldn’t recommend nor return. Sorry folks!

Recommended by a friend to visit for the 2-4-1 cocktails and won't return again! Some guy manager with short blondish hair on duty was SO rude and had such an attitude. Get off your high horse and be polite to customers. My friend and I visited Friday afternoon and ordered the June Bug. When they came, we weren't entirely happy with them because they were nothing but ice. We told an employee, and the manager was called. No friendly greeting but attitude and a glaring stare from the start. He said, "Well, that's our standards across the company," and then just stared, no smile or warmth. He explained they put that amount of ice to make the most of the 2-4-1 offer, like they were scrimping on ingredients - bar the ice. From that comment, I assumed you'd get a better standard on a day the 2-4-1 offer wasn't on. You dont. He said it would be the same 👀 so his comment about adding all the ice to compensate for the 2-4-1 offer was unnecessary. He was combative and didn't make us feel like valued customers. He didn't at least try to offer a resolution like one of the employees did, just stare. He refused to give us a refund, so I asked if we could have the same drink without all the ice and received about half a glass of a cocktail (picture attached). We didn't even want to stay for food, so we left and won't be returning. Why would we when we could get better customer service elsewhere and better value for money. If you have certain standards to abide to, fine. But don't be so rude or have an attitude, and I suggest some training for that manager on problem-solving skills.

Ridiculous portions. Paid £30 for a taco sharing platter, supposedly meant to feed 2 people. Came with the chewiest steak in existence, absolutely impossible to eat. Was meant to be half chicken and half steak, but the chicken was barely a 1/4 of a breast. Comes with a lot of silly little plates and dishes to make it look like you’re getting your moneys worth. Pay £30 to make your own ‘guacamole’!! It’s a lovely experience to smash a pestle and mortar whilst the table next to you is trying to enjoy their drinks. The salsa verde was so incredibly flavourless it could’ve been grass from the park behind the bar. The ONLY highlight of the “meal” was a jalapeño chutney that they probably just buy in. Places like this make you want to stick to what you know and not bother exploring new establishments. After this disappointment of a meal, we went to our lovely usual spot and spent the SAME AMOUNT of money for 4 plates of amazing delicious sushi. Please come back to reality and either charge people what your food is actually worth, or have a little chat with your chef as it is just embarrassing pushing this food out to paying customers.

Do not come as a large group! Despite a pre order form being put in mains came with starters. Took ages for anyone to ask for a drink order. And we were mostly ignored by servers. Paying was a joke. It took almost an hour to sort a split payment. The pre order form should be sufficient to split it down. To top it off after half the party payed for food they realised they hadnt accounted for the £100 deposit. So it hadnt been applied to the bill and they werent sure if they could refund. Guess we will have to wait and see. Food was reasonable though including price point, cant say the same about drink prices.

They need to do better for the prices being charged. The food was pretty nice but the service was very poor. We werent noticed when we arrived, having an embarrassing wait at the entrance while staff chatted. Even though it was quiet (we went on a Sunday) the waiting staff were slow and inattentive. We spent more than we normally would going here and definitely wouldn't go back.

Didn't stay for food, and didn't buy any more drinks. Very poor. The staff avoid eye contact. It's as if they don't want to make eye contact incase they get asked for something. Which would have been food and beer if the opportunity had arisen.

Are food in the sun outside the corn exchange restaurant and it was lovely. The Me&I order at the table never worked properly abd I've paid twice. I have been told that I will receive a refund but I've no idea how because it wasn't explained to me, but I don't blame the staff because it's not her fault. It's not convenient that I have to chase my money down. The food was really nice and the veggie options were great. The spicy mushroom tacos were the best. Cocktails were 2 for 1 and were delicious

I can’t rate the food as we ate at The Real Greek. 29/06/2024 - The bar service was shocking, there was plenty of staff working but just 1 person serving at any point on a Saturday night. At one point, there was 1 person cleaning bottles, another re-organising an area at the bottom right of the bar, another cleaning glasses, 2 standing talking whilst 5 customers were waiting at the bar. This is a perfect example of staff acting as though customers are an interruption to their work instead of acknowledging customers are the reason they have work at all! The decor was pretty standard, atmosphere ok but we wouldn’t return.

Booked a table for birthday celebrations,arrived early and ordered on the app for food and drinks. We moved inside as the rest of the party had arrived, I proceeded to tell the bar we had moved so the food would arrive to the correct table, however the food took 25 minutes to come and as there was only one person on the bar, i did not get the chance to tell the bartender we had moved tables. The food and drinks runner proceeded to shout at my friend, saying he went to every table outside and proceeded to raise his voice at us and proceeded to call my friend a ‘little girl’. We then asked to speak to a manager,they sent over an 18 year old to ask us to speak to the manager at the bar, the manager then proceeded to come over,in response to our complaint about her floor staff, she proceeded to say we were ganging up on her. Awful service, do not recommend.

Disappointed with our visit for breakfast this morning. Very little interaction with staff other than offering to replace my poached eggs, which were way too overdone. Second attempt not well presented and to be honest, not enjoyable at all. Hubby’s full English was acceptable but wrong choice of bread served. Both coffees were lukewarm. Not at all good value or an enjoyable experience.

I ended up here as I was with friends and it seemed to tick the menu compatibility boxes. As we sat inside the Corn Exchange, we were told to select and pay using the QR code on the table. This was a really pleasant place to sit. It's lovely and light, plus there's a nice atmosphere with diners from nearby restaurants. If you're after a more lively experience, you probably want to sit inside the building. The QR code opened a 3rd party site (Men&u). This was easy to use, making a selection and buying. The food was okay, sort of underwhelming in a fast food chain way... The picture of the food looks much better than what you're served.

Was served by Harry at the spinning field location and was left extremely disappointed. He was extremely rude to our whole table, and very reluctant to serve us. All round lack of manners and pressured us into taking off the service charge and paying a manual tip so he doesn’t have to share the tip with the other waiters who served us. The other waiters were however lovely, though this were entirely ruined by Harry’s miserableness and all round con man vibe. Will not be coming back nor recommend.

Came here today as a spontaneous walk in, and ordered a few drinks (cocktails) which was decent, then ordered a few small plates including the duck plate, which after not realising it contained mayo I requested to switch to another dish and was simply told no as I ordered it. Sorry just terrible customer service that, anywhere else would've accommodated. Not impressed tbh. Understand the 3.6 rating.

I had a horrible experience from start to finish the communication from staff was confusing and attitude when you need to make them aware of a complaint. Me and friend just wanted to have a drink and a meal normally no issues before seeing take that. We were looking for a table. A young lad who started that day said it’s full and then people left a table and he said grap the table before it goes. So we ordered a bottle of wine each because we thought we would be staying for a meal. We sat at the table and there was glasses on the table. I spoke to a young girl and she said it’s reserved with two tables next to them they were also not aware it was reserved. My friend was ordering food. I had to tell my friend not to order until we know the table is free. We waited then the going lady said you can stay they are not coming. So my friend went inside to order food because QR code did not work. 25 mins later my friends comes out and said they are not serving food now. My friend asked about a lid for the wines has we wanted food and had two bottles of wine. We were told no. So not very happy siting there want something to eat. A few ladies sat near us and they were looking at menu we told them they have stopped serving. ‘My husband is the owner we are eating food’. My friend was upset and myself. I seen people sitting down inside with no reservation then ordering food. I was told they booked. I asked to speak to the manager about what happened. I repeated what happened 5 times and she blamed me and my friend for sitting at a reserved table. If we know we would not have sat there you were told to sit there by the young boy. Anyway I got upset and just got my money for my bottle of wine not my friend so waited for her to drink her bottle . New staff that needed mentored and looked after and bad customer service. Didn’t find out the food just has well I was not a mystery shopper. I am a qualified teacher and trainer so disappointed by my experience . Marguerite

Great atmosphere, yummy cocktails🍹and wheelchair♿ accessible. I wish I could give 5 stars, but the staff are on the grumpy side. It takes zero effort to smile and say something like enjoy your drinks/food. I am aware how busy they are, but a smile and a friendly face makes a huge difference!

We travelled from Cumbria to watch a show and called ahead to inform we were held up in traffic and would be late for our reservation, but were reassured not to worry. Despite a delay to food service due to a fire alarm in The Corn Exchange building (which meant the gas supply was automatically disconnected and the kitchen had to temporarily close), the waitress who served us kept us informed and looked after with delicious cocktails. The 2 for 1 cocktail offer was great value and we tried our first Caramel 'Old Fashioned' after our waitress suggested we should. I was hesitant, but I am glad we did. They were delicious! The only reason I haven't given the full five stars was because we had to wait for over ten minutes at the entrance to be seen to by a member of the team. In the end my husband went inside to try and find someone but it felt less friendly than we feel it should have. Whilst we appreciate that it was very busy, we would have given the full five stars if someone could have just acknowledged us. Luckily, as soon as we were shown to our table, the waitress allocated to us turned everything around. We feel bad for not remembering her name, sorry!!! Banyan was recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint. Friendly, super efficient and the food was well worth the wait. We will be back!

It seemed a nice place to go for cocktails, but I wasn't sure if I liked any because I've never really heard of any before so I asked for captain Morgan- didn't have any, my partner asked for a light beer but was told that the taps are for show they don't actually work so they didn't have beers in. Won't be going back unfortunately.

Extremely disappointing, on entering were told by the staff that we could sit anywhere only to be told 20 mins later that the table we were sitting at was booked and we had to leave, we pointed out that this was not acceptable as we had just bought a bottle of wine and could not leave , we were then told that they could try and find us another table but the bar was very busy or we could sit outside. We were told that the table that we sat at was for food orders and we said that we were ordering food only to be told that they were extremely busy and not to bother ordering any food. Whole experience very upsetting, made to feel like we were second class citizens due to their mistake. We were told we could sit outside in the smoking area and when we said that we are not smokers we were reluctantly offered another table inside infront of the door with a draft every time the door opened. Shocking customer service skills definitely not returning!.

Came here Friday night 1/3/24 with my partner for a date night and it was amazing! I was firstly pleasantly pleased as I thought we were going to be seated outside which is cool and causal but I was looking for something more. We were kindly ushered inside by Frankie and her colleague to a beautiful, modern intimate location inside. The smell of the food and buzz of the atmosphere was a good sight to smell and see. After a joke or two with Frankie we were introduced to our waitress Amanda who we cannot fault in any way!! She was attentive, happy and professional throughout our bottomless steak experience. She went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after, thank you so much. The food was lush, we ordered the spinach and a bottle of red to keep us going (not that it was needed!) the salad was well presented and sauces kept coming..... the Chimichurri sauce! Mmmmmhhh mhhh. The Steaks were great and our plates were never empty. All of the staff from our greeter at the door to Andrew behind the bar were friendly and positive - especially Amanda. Thanks for lovely night out. Watch this space, we will be back! 😄 ⭐ 🥩
