Unbelievable location to shows restaurants etc ..

I’m so impressed with this hotel. I have no complaints whatsoever, and especially appreciated all the help we got from Marco in reception and the bell captain Mo. They are both treasures.

We loved our stay at GSY. The room is super plush and comfortable, probably the quietest HVAC system I've ever come across. The breakfast was spectacular, and the service was excellent. Being in the heart of downtown was great, too. Short walks to many tube stations and a short walk to the west end to see all kinds of shows and plays. Absolutely recommend 10/10

We went there for High Tea. I felt the staff in the bar before we went in were a little rude and not welcoming. Staff in the tea area were friendly. Food was nothing special for the price paid. I've had better food for half the price.

The Great Scotland Yard is more than a former police station which maintains and preserve heritage and luxury hospitality branding. Any guest staying at this iconic property will dive into the old Stuart Dynasty who ruled Scotland & the England. The interior design and every detail of decoration are preserving a treasure of deep history and connectivity with the central area of Westminster. I would like to congratulate the hard work of the whole team of this property. They all improved a very high level of service, kindness, generosity and hospitality. Alastair and his young French colleague (I forgot his name), Disha at the reception, Alberto & his bartender team at the 40 Elephants, Olena and her breakfast team were absolutely amazing. Last but not least, the creative partnership with prisoners involved in art and craftmanship represents a visionary idea. After visiting the Parisi Udvar in Budapest, the Martinez in Cannes, both parts of the Unbound collection of Hyatt, I hereby confirm that the Great Scotland Yard is the TOP 1 property in Europe among the Unbound collection of Hyatt.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Group’s Scotland Yard Hotel. I particularly appreciated the welcome from Alastair, Disha and a young Frenchman who did everything to make my stay pleasant. The hotel is close to the emblematic places of London: Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Big Ben, and magnificent parks. The decor of the hotel is extraordinary: the smallest details evoke the historical past of the place. Paintings, armchairs, door handles... are nods to the police investigations and legal cases that have marked local history. The visitor never tires of observing all these artistic scenes….

This is the worst hotel. Dirty and i found bed bugs.

It's a great place for one to spend time, especially with a spouse. Yes, the rooms were perfect, but services are minus 1 star, while the location is also minus a star because it is quite bustling and noisy. In all, it is admirable and enjoyable space.

Fantastic hotel with premium services and location. Located near Traflagar’s square, the west end, and embankment, there’s always something to do walking distance away. Great selection of restaurants and bars, including a hidden whisky bar! Services include daily room service, complimentary chocolates, and glassed water. The amenities were also great to use.

We've had a marvelous stay. 8 nights. Great staff, incredible restaurant and bars (there's 2), and the rooms and overall ambience are lovely. Plus the location can't be beat. 5 stars.

From check in to check out we had a wonderful 6 night stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful no matter what our request. So nice to be greeted always with a smile. The breakfast offerings were wonderful. And on top of the menu choices, there were many varied items on the buffet. Service was very friendly. The location is perfect near important London sights. Covent Garden and the Charming Cross train station. Looking forward to a return stay.

Worst service I have received in a hotel + hotel refuse to take accountability for stolen items I am a Globalist member at Hyatt and stayed at this hotel alone approx 60 nights this year. Unfortunately some personal items got stolen after my last stay but the hotel refused to take accountability. They simply state that they had investigated the incident and did not find the items + offered a room upgrade (which I should revive for the status anyway). In addition the hotel seems to be unable Tobiasse correct invoices. I always ask for the last address on my invoice and check during checkin and checkout that the people at the reception use this address. For some reason it still happens again and again that in the end they deliver invoices with faulty addresses and when I ask them over email to correct it they are unable to do so or don’t even reply.

A grand hotel with exceptional service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in the classy rooms situated in the very unique and intriguing hotel interior. The service at breakfast was on another level, the hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, going above and beyond to cater to your needs. I was truly impressed with their attention to detail. There are plenty of restaurant/bar options, each with their own flare. The location is excellent and within walking distance to many major landmarks / POIs in London. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

This hotel worked out great for our group! We had tea in the parlor and breakfast in the restaurant. We also had drinks at the bar and used the gym. The staff is amazing and the location is great!

Absolutely loved this hotel! The location was perfect for us, we were able to walk everywhere or get to the tube easily. Our room was street side but was not noisy at all. The room was super boujee! Just gorgeous and luxurious. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was exquisite. The shower felt amazing after walking around London all day. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others as well.

I agree with the other reviews about the service. It’s not terrible, but it’s not good either. The location is great, and the rooms were very clean and nice. Not sure I’ll stay here given the other choices in London. I’ve stayed at the Trafalgar St. James-Hilton, and the service was amazing from the first time you walk in the door.

Great hotel, satisfying service, no problems with the room. Location is central, which can be excellent but in my case is bad because throughout my visit there was constant protest, bad traffic, and suspended public transportation options. Definitely not a good hotel if you’re planning to work. WiFi is extremely slow, you can’t even do video calls. Found it embarrassing that the WiFi in nearby Nando’s and Flat Iron is faster than in the room.

The rooms are small, there is no trash can in the bathroom, and the bidet nozzle won't work. When I called the service about my stay, they were not very helpful. I would not recommend it. The staff is not very friendly.

Perfect placed and walking distant to Trafalgar Square. The hotel staff are super friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! The room and bathroom are lush and super clean. They have a great bar area with drinks and snack. There breakfast in the morning was good too. I had a buffet and then able to order off an a la carte menu. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay super central in London with a luxury vibe!

Beautiful hotel in a super central location. But they just can’t get the turnover correct for some reason. They didn’t have a room ready for me 30 minutes past their check-in window explaining “they were full”. Someone needs to work on the operations of this hotel. I was planning to stay another week later in July but will be updating my reservation somewhere else

Service is near non existent. All room preferences are ignored, even on a very special occasion. Nice hotel, but loud at night and not even given a room away from the elevator as a globalist, they also stuck me on the bottom floor near the street noise even though we requested a high floor away from the elevator. All this despite us being here on a baby moon ( I let them know it was special occasion via the app and the reservation hotline, and when I arrived they asked why we were visiting, so no, they don’t care why you’re visiting or if it’s a special occasion or not ). Not a five star hotel by any stretch of the imagination The response below is exactly what I’d expect out of this hotel. When I asked if they could move once a higher floor room came available, the front desk said “ Please call us throughout the day tomorrow to check on that”. So no, I am not surprised the manager wrote the most canned copy and paste response you could imagine.

Was lucky enough to stay here while in London for the marathon. Not only was the location really close to the finish line (0.2 miles) but it was also close to the National Gallery and some great pubs. The accommodations were cozy and modern. The food and beverage was delicious. But the staff was the shining star here. They went above and beyond with whatever you needed and then some. Can't wait to pay them another visit.

This is the quietest hotel I’ve ever experienced. Especially since it’s in a very busy area. It’s also in a convenient location- close to major museums, galleries, shops. The staff is exceptional- friendly, efficient and accommodating. I can’t think of a single negative thing about our stay. Food, bed, room, housekeeping were all unsurpassed.

Delightful Afternoon Tea in The Parlor.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful!! The location, staff, and room is superb! We could not get over our room and the amenities!!! But most important the location is PERFECT, if you’re looking for a hotel in the middle of everything central London this is it! We went to multiple areas and getting to and from was very easy! Wish we had more time to try the resturants/bar but this was a great stay!

Great Scotland Yard felt a bit like they were prioritizing profit over guest experience. The advertised room features, sizes, and amenities on their website weren't entirely accurate in my case. While the hotel itself is nice, it wasn't quite the luxurious stay I was expecting.

Lovely stay for a few nights on business. Can’t beat the locations access to so many walkable historic sights. Staff was fantastic and rooms had everything you need and more.

Amazing afternoon tea in The Parlour this afternoon. The freshest sandwiches with imaginative and creative fillings, quiches, scones with clotted cream and delicious jam, with hardly any room left for the scrumptious cakes. Attentive and charming staff. Two helpful concierges for directions and taxis. Two excellent bars although we only visited one for G&Ts. What’s not to love about this fabulous hotel. As Arnie says “we’ll be back”!

The services provided were top-notch, from the friendly staff to the delicious food at the restaurant and the thematic bars. What truly made our stay memorable was the story behind the hotel, filled with rich history and charm. Overall, our experience was nothing short of fantastic and we can't wait to visit again!

Update from original review, lowering to 2 stars from 4. The hotel charged an additional 5% service charge with no line on the bill. It was not until the travel agency contacted the hotel that they admitted to this which they are doing on every bill. The service fee is discretionary, however they are not disclosing it. This is dishonest and I would presume borderline illegal... Hiding fees is not okay. Watch out and make sure if you stay here they do not sneak this in without notice. Modern hotel with old world charm, this London boutique Hyatt has a cute ambiance from the lobby through the halls. As a frequent traveler for work to Europe, I know finding hot and strong water pressure is rare and I was pleasantly surprised that GSY fulfilled these requirements with a nice big shower and a towel warmer too. One frustration was that the rooms are not equipped for business travelers who need to get a little work done: there was no chair with a back, just little stools and the power outlets were far from the little table. Supposedly they have room service but no menu to be found. Perhaps the hotel is more geared towards tourists given its location. Overall a nice stay and I would go back.
