Great Himalayas Nepalese Restaurant & Bar in Sefton

Amazing food and lovely friendly staff, chicken biryani was 10/10 and very reasonable price for the quality, fabulous!!!

We recently dined at Great Himalayas Nepalese Restaurant and bar it was a delightful experience! The flavors of the traditional Nepalese dishes were exquisite, transporting me back to Nepal The cozy ambiance and friendly staff added to the overall enjoyment of the meal I highly recommend trying the momos and the flavorful curries A must-visit spot for anyone craving authentic Nepali cuisine! ❤️

Each time we book a table at the Himalayas we wonder, was the food really that good??? When we are eating we realise, with great pleasure, yes it really is that good - just excellent. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and professional and, as said, the food is delicious. Thank you to all at the Great Himalayas!

The food here is amazing, and we have never had a bad meal here, but last night we went with our family to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they had a large group booking of 30+ men, it was so noisy we struggled to hear the staff when ordering food and drinks, now I know large bookings can be noisy as your all chatting and trying to hear one another over all the noise, but it would have been nice if the staff had made an attempt o even ask them to be a bit quieter. We’ve eaten here many times when it’s been full and we’ve never not been able to hear each other to have a conversation, even with large bookings, it totally ruined what should have been a lovely catch up meal with family, but instead we gave up trying to have a conversation as it was impossible to hear and just ate our food as quickly as possible and left. Such a shame as things like this put you off dining and we will certainly think twice before booking again, I do think had the owner been on site the noise would not have been at the level it was, so maybe some staff training might be appropriate in how do deal with noisy customers would be helpful going forward.

The food here used to be some of the best Nepalese food I have ever eaten but this visit was a disappointment. The menu is more limited, seemingly loosing some of its more interesting dishes and everything, even the dishes that are supposed to be milder, are just hot. We ordered 2 mains with very different descriptions but the sauce looked and tasted virtually identical. Such a shame, it seems to have lost its way.

4 of us visited on a Saturday, only table available - we were advised to book and glad we did - was 5.15 though that was abit early we decided to go. As expected the restaurant quiet but by the time we left around 7 it was full. Anyway welcoming, friendly staff who were happy to offer advice on the menu - they will do meals mild, medium, hot, even if it doesn't say so on the menu, if you ask. We had 1 basket of popodoms and dips to share - enough for the 4 of us, 3 starters - all momos which were delicious and spicy, 1 fish curry, 1 lamb gulmeli, 1 lamb akbare and a chicken hariyali, 1 fried rice, 1 Nan bread, 3 gin and tonics and a lemonade. First time weve tried Nepalese food and hopefully not the last. Tasty and delicious, definitely different (though similar) to Indian food. Prices reasonable £102 for the 4 of us.

Wow just wow! Another takeaway, another gorgeous experience. Lived in India for 4 years and this food is as good as anything I had there and I love my curries. Personal preference I know but this is the best!

Last night I had the pleasure of ordering a takeaway from the incredible Himalayas Nepalese restaurant in Southport. This was the best takeaway I have ever had!! The food was amazing, full of flavours and spices and the portions were huge! Cannot wait to visit the restaurant next time!

We were just looking for somewhere to eat and found this place. They had table space but they told us that they were fully booked up later on in the evening. A good sign. We got change from £60 for a starter and main with poppadums, sundries and some drinks. The food was excellent and the staff were courteous. You might want to book if you want to eat here as when we left there was a queue for our table!

The individuals were really welcoming, and the food was just fantastic. I will definitely return the next time. It truly brought back memories of my time in Nepal.

My girlfriend and I were delayed and arrived at the Great Himalayas Restaurant 40 mins late. The Manager mentioned that the kitchen had closed which was a disappointment. He then stated that he would provide 4 different starters and 2 portions of pilau and egg fried rice which was from the meal set aside for his restaurant staff. We also had an amazing curry type soup that we poured over our meal. My girlfriend and I stated that it was one of the best meals we had for a long time and the generosity and warmth presented by the manager and other staff members made our visit a memorable one and we will definitely be heading back to Great Himalayas Nepalese restaurant very soon.
