The best restaurant for North Indian and Nepalese food in Liverpool by far

Food was excellent but could have been hotter (spicier) which was surprising as i ordered a hot dish. But everything else was great.

Always a good place to eat service is very good, they will also adapt heat if the curries on request if required.

Went for a birthday celebration and what a fab evening it was. Manager was extremely helpful when I had to make a last minute group booking after being let down by a different establishment, and was very accommodating. Great choice of delicious food that is great quality and well presented. Lovely atmosphere, and really friendly and professional staff. Really lovely evening, wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Had takeaway, absolutely delicious and good value

Friendly staff, beautiful food. We've had takeaway a few times but visiting in person with the fresh hot food is much better. 4 star for atmosphere as is a small place and feels like any curry house, nil special there.

My friend and I had an absolutely fabulous evening at Da Mount Gurkha. The food was exceptional in all respects. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, which was great as we had not eaten Nepalese food before. Everything was very tasty, and a extensive menu to choose from. We will most definitely return when we are next in the area.

Finally tried this place and it did not disappoint! Food is so delicious , tastes fresh and light. Staff absolutely lovely, he didn’t push us to order more and actually suggested we share rice and bread instead of ordering for each of us. The curries and plain bread were so tasty. We will definitely be back! - great pricing too we were pleasantly surprised when our bill came.

This is a great place, all of the food is really good and Nepalese cuisine gives you a different set of cuisine and flavours. It has won an award in 2024 as best Nepalese and with a commendation for the chef. I can only agree. Portion sizes were good and left me satisfied with a starter curry main and rice. The breads looked great as well so I might go for that next time. Vegetarian options went down well for those who had them and no one felt short changed in that regard. Service was quick and unobtrusive which is my preference. I would not only happily return but will look forward to doing so

When you enter the restaurant it looks very nice nice decor and pictures, the ladies toilet,what a let down, it needs a makeover not very clean so this turns me off, if a restaurant doesn’t look after their toilets. It’s not a good start. 4 small containers of chutneys not enough for 2 people. Main meal was good but small we had to ask for extra rice has you only got a small bowl. garlic bread couldn’t taste garlic. We did enjoy but I was expecting a lot more due to the awards. we have had better but so disappointed

Never knew I needed Nepalese food in my life until I visited Mount De Gurkha. Been several times now service is always phenomenal, always accomodating and really friendly. Every dish I have had is great portion size and an incredibly tasty, excellent value for money. Special shout out the the Lamb Shank on the Chef's specials, up there with one of the best individual dishes I have had the pleasure of having.

Had a family celebration here recently, with a big group. The food, as ever, was superb and the staff could not do enough for us. We come here frequently and it never disappoints.

Love this place, food sometimes can take a little longer as they make things fresh but they do warn about the dishes that take longest when you order them. Always the most fresh, tasty Nepalese dishes that keep you wanting to go back, Can't recommend enough.

Lovely Nepalese restaurant. Our food was excellent, very tasty and beautifully presented. I don’t often order lamb curries, but took the risk based on the reviews and was not disappointed. Very tender, very well cooked in a lovely Achari sauce. Plenty for vegetarians too. The service was very friendly and attentive. And prices reasonable too. Altogether a great experience and I’d highly recommend.

This is our second visit within the last week - that’s how impressed we were. The food is tasty, not at all oily, every dish tastes and looks different. The mushroom rice is delicately flavoured. The breads are light and very delicious (especially the lightly layered bread that’s my favourite). Good choice for vegetarians too. Our friends were impressed and are planning on visiting again. Highly recommend.

We arrived just as they opened for an early meal at 5pm. A lovely place; staff very effective and attentive. Both the chicken and lamb curry were delicious; served with a basmati rice and garlic flatbread. A decent portion, enough to fill us without that over-eating feeling. Our first time visiting but won’t be our last. Highly recommend for tasty food.

Went here for a family meal. We were a party of 9 and obviously had booked. The staff were amazing, really friendly and accommodating and the food was lovely. I would definitely recommend.

We went here last last night after reading a review in the local newspaper. On arrival the greeting was very warm. We sat down and a waiter came and took a drinks order all good, shortly afterwards they came and took our food order. All good so far and then………. A large party started to arrive and it was obvious the lead person booking them in was known to the restaurant staff hugs kisses etc, that’s when things went down hill. We had ordered another round of drinks, they didn’t arrive but the large party next to us all their drinks arrived,so I prompted the waiter and they eventually arrived. The dips and popadoms were lovely the food we had was very good. We waited and waited and waited for some service none arrived but the large party next to us we’re getting VIP service, so I went to the bar and ask for the bill and paid they sort of apologised to late. Treat every customer the same. Will I return, not sure .

Well what an amazing treat, not only are we already spoilt by having this fabulous restaurant round the corner and enjoying their delicious food whenever we go there, what do they do? They have treated all their regulars to a free feast to thank them for their support. They are well deserved winners at The Nations Curry awards 2023 and Best Chef of the year 2023 at Curry Life.

Eaten in the restaurant many times. Always well presented with lots of flavour, not the best, but really good. On the restaurant experience alone, I would give a 4 star review. As a takeaway however, the food doesn’t travel well compared with other similar cuisine in the area and this isn’t just based upon this occasion. We had a specific issue this evening with popadoms being in bits on pick up (no biggie), more problematic is the absence of the dips in-spite of us paying for them (realised this on plating at home). We live a 5 minute drive away, but in instances like this we shouldn’t have to go and pick them up again, which is what was offered on ringing up. “I will remember you next time for complimentary poppadoms and dips” also not a good enough answer, sorry and you also didn’t even take enough details to really honour that either, not that we would be in a rush to order again anyway. I could clearly hear the manager/owner speaking to the person on the phone, giving him the answers, which is disappointing really. Just come to the phone and speak to me in person when you have made a mistake to offer your own apologies and rectify the situation. If this doesn’t happen very often, arrange for someone to drive it round the corner to us.

We are regulars to Da Mount Gurkha. The food is always stunning. I’m vegetarian and mostly have the paneer Dhede khursani. Never been disappointed. Portions are great, normally have some to take home for next days lunch! Geeta and the staff are lovely. Going again for our friend Robs birthday next Saturday, can’t wait. Cheers, Chris

First time eating Nepalese, and it will not be the last. Ordered a self pickup ... was worth it. No waiting, good containers ... tried the Everest beer and JO2 orange drink ... Fit to the dinner. We had lamb, shrimp, chicken wings (start up) along with some roti bread ... didn't order enough of roti. We are going to refer this establishment to friends. Thank you for giving us a nice evening....

We were served by friendly staff, service was efficient. Our food was great with amazing flavours, only disappointed by prawns being chopped in my dish and so few. For me, Prawns need to be seen as prawns, not chopped morsels. A lovely restaurant with great food.

Love this place, consistently good food, affordable wine, friendly staff and I have just discovered they do fab crispy chips.

Went again last Monday. We tend to go around twice a month and it is really the only restaurant I go to. Tripadvisor only allows reviews at 3-month intervals or I would write more. The food remains consistently outstanding. I like spicy food and almost always have the same things. Chicken Pakhete to start followed by Chicken Namche or Chicken/Lamb Dhede Khursani with Lasooni (garlic)bread. Service is efficient and friendly. I think a recent bad review relates to another establishment with a similar name. This place is faultless.

Literally the best curry I have ever had. The staff were so helpful and welcoming and the food was just unbelievable. My new favourite place! Was able to park over the road on Milton road but could be an issue if we went on a busy day. Only negative was lack of baby changing facilities but not enough to ever put me off coming or recommending to everyone we know! Thank you so much!

Probably the best place to get a Curry in North Liverpool 👍. Food is excellent, not your 'typical Curry' (as it's Nepalese) but don't be put off, the food flavours are way better than usual Indians 😎 Service is good and food is served in good time, even when busy 👍. Price is pretty reasonable for the quality of food 👍

Went with family ,and year old grandchild , food was excellent 👌 The staff were accomadating and very friendly, good choice of beers, would reccomend for meal for party large of small, though reccomend booking in advance as it is a busy place 😉

The best Nepalese food in Liverpool!

We called here thinking it was an Indian restaurant; however it was a Nepalese restaurant. I have never eaten Nepalese food before and I was very impressed with the quality of the food. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely return.

This is a brilliant Restaurant the food is lovely and the staff are extremely good at what they do. If you have not been then give it a try.

This is the best place for a curry, exceptional service and quality of food. We also bumped into our old friend TV chef Ken Hom who joined us for a poppadom. Thanks Ken and everyone who made it a memorable night

What can I say about this place. It is absolutely fantastic, the best curry house I’ve ever been to. The food is all freshly cooked and is the best Asian food I’ve ever tasted. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. They’ve recently won a National award for their food, the outright winner of the competition. It is no surprise at all. Can’t wait until we’re there again.

The food is exceptional, really worth the visit. Momos are lush, never had them before! We got a bit unlucky and there were three big tables in just before us, which meant service for us was slow. It was a shame because the food is fab.
