Absolutamente impresionante lugar, excelente comida y personal 100% recomendable a cualquiera que quiera disfrutar de una noche impresionante con excelente comida y ambiente.

Absolutamente horrible, vine aquí el día 5 y con mi marido y mi sobrina solo para ser recibidos por una mujer grosera llamada Jane. Nunca volverá a venir.

Situado en el corazón de la calle James, a pocas calles del palacio de la calle James y a 5 minutos a pie de la parada de metro Piccadilly Circus, el restaurante está bajando un tramo de escaleras desde el conserje, el lugar ofrece una cálida bienvenida con elegantes vidrios descoloridos - paredes de paneles y techos, complementado por un bar bien equipado. El menú del almuerzo es atractivo, aunque la selección de vinos es limitada. Desafortunadamente, no hay martinis Dukes disponibles los domingos, ya que Dukes Bar está cerrado. El servicio se destaca: el personal es amable, atento y acogedor. Las opciones de asientos son cómodas, con cabinas acogedoras y asientos en fila para hasta cuatro. El menú se centra en la cocina clásica británica, con algunos aspectos destacados: • La berenjena ahumada maridada con galletas crujientes con semillas era sabrosa y bien preparada. • Sin embargo, el pez monje bateador era abrumador: la porción de pescado era pequeña y el bateador demasiado dominante. Dicho esto, las patatas fritas que las acompañaban estaban perfectamente cocidas. • Las vieiras con pudín negro eran promedio, sin sabores sobresalientes. • Lamentablemente, el cerdo estaba seco, aunque la salsa que lo acompañaba proporcionó cierto alivio. En cuanto a las bebidas, el vino por copa era algo agobiante, dejando margen para mejorar la selección de bebidas.

La comida era fantástica muy sabrosa en el menú y el servicio era muy rápido y todos eran tan amables que deben ir!

Mi pareja y yo hemos estado en los Duques en 2019 y tuvimos una hermosa experiencia. Incluso preferimos el té de la tarde Dukes antes que el Fortnum y el Mason. Sin embargo, cuando volvimos ayer y tomamos el té de la tarde, nos quedamos muy decepcionados. Han cambiado el estilo de té de la tarde muy tradicional donde la comida se sirve en una bandeja de 3 niveles con un menú de 4 platos, llamándolo una "cena fina". ¡Desafortunadamente esto tiene muy poco que ver con una experiencia tradicional de té por la tarde! Además, entre cada “plato” teníamos que esperar a que se sirviera el siguiente conjunto de comida. Entre los sándwiches y los bollos esperamos más de 20 minutos (! ! ! ). Esto destruyó totalmente la atmósfera y el sentido de un té de la tarde. Cuando los bollos finalmente llegaron eran duros como roca y no cayeron bien. Francamente, sabían como si hubieran sido horneados días antes. Cuando pedimos otro juego de bocadillos solo recibimos la mitad del juego para compartir lo que nos dio la impresión de que querían ahorrar gastos. Entonces tuvimos que compartir la mitad del set - ¡realmente desafortunado! Se lo comunicamos a la camarera. Ella agradeció amablemente nuestros comentarios. El servicio en sí era estándar y estándar solamente. Usted recibe este tipo de servicio en cualquier restaurante en Londres - no es exactamente lo que esperábamos de un hotel de clase alta. Desafortunadamente esta fue la última vez que vinimos a ser sus invitados. Para cualquier persona que desee experimentar un té tradicional de la tarde, especialmente las personas que nunca habían tenido uno antes, le recomendamos ir a otro lugar porque un menú de platos "buena cena" no es lo mismo! 2 Estrellas esta vez!

Pedí un ojo costal medio raro. La cosa estaba carbonizada y crujiente - demasiado cocida. Como si hubiera entrado en una freidora. Ningún camarero vino a preguntar si todo estaba bien y parecía olvidarse de nosotros, cuando pedí un palillo. Gracias a Dios que era mitad de precio gracias al Tenedor o me habría negado a pagar por completo.

An excellent experience. The menu is good - and offers the same list of starters and mains - just different portions. The pollock starter was very good and the lamb excellent. Good value. Service was very good.

I just got off a long flight from Chicago to meet my husband and the GBR was our first stop. This was one of our favorite meals in London. We enjoyed wine with incredibly well prepared entrees. My husband had the lamb (he still talks about it two weeks later) and I had a small burger. It was superb! The service was fantastic and we loved it. The restaurant had lovely decor. My 1st regret was that I had not taken the time to look a bit more polished as I was underdressed and my 2nd regret was that we did not make it back. Our servers were warm, professional, courteous, and kind. Truly a gem.

Disappointing service for afternoon tea. We were in a separate room with little attention and no atmosphere. Although the food items were delicious, there was no top up of tea offered and we had to ask for more jam and cream as there was clearly not enough for the scones. The staff had difficulties in allowing us to pay separately and at the time, we did not know the service charge was ‘discretionary’ It would not have been paid had I known. They even had the cheek to demand the small shortage of £1.90 which was a minor error considering we had almost paid the whole of the service charge. So sad as this was a very special occasion and some had travelled a long way to attend. Perhaps this establishment should take lessons from Cornish restaurants and cafes offering afternoon tea!

Restaurante escondido numa pequena rua próxima ao Saint James Palace ( e Buckingham - 10 minutos a pé). Ótimo ambiente e excelente comida, opções de todas as carnes, vários peixes e boas opções vegetarianas. Ainda possui opções de refeições para crianças. Uma ótima pedida para escapar dos muitos turistas e comer bem e com muito conforto!

Lovely high quality meal for 6 of us in this restaurant within Dukes Hotel .Low level music so we could all hear the news and views of our friends .Good menu and you could choose each dish as a starter or a main course . Considering the quality of the food and that we all had 3 generous courses, wine and cocktails ,we thought £75 each was really good value for a lovely venue in a 5 star hotel in St James’s. Would definitely go back and a great choice for a special occasion.

While there is a two or three course menu available, the thing to do at the GBR is to choose multiple items from the all day dining menu. Those various dishes come in starter and regular size. The wonderful thing about the starter size is that you can try multiple different plates without feeling stuffed at the end. The restaurant has an air of fine-dining, the prices are lower than one would expect in that setting. And the attentive but not intrusive service will take care of you even if you're sitting there in t-shirt, jeans and sneakers. I've visited this restaurant multiple times over the years and will go back and visit every single time I'm in London.

Booked a family lunch for 5 adults. In the restaurant it was not possible to have pre-lunch cocktails. We were advised there was no barman so could only have wine, bottled beer or soft drinks. Never been in a supposedly 5 star hotel where you cannot have pre-lunch G&T. One of the party ordered a started and a second starter as her main course. They were served the wrong way round so the dish requested as the main course was served as the starter. One of the party only ordered a main course. Without being asked her preference she was served this when the rest of us were served our starter although she would have preferred her main course when the rest of the party was having their main course. Never experienced this in 5 star hotel. The waitress serving the wine missed the glass and splashed the wine onto the table. No attempt to wipe it up. Had to dry the table off myself. Some were having still water whilst some were having sparkling water. Staff topped up the water incorrectly. After lunch we tried to go to the hotel bar for cocktails. Brusque barman told us that 5 people was too large for the bar as it is set out for groups of 2 or 4 and he would have to move the furniture for us and was not happy to do that. We left feeling that despite good food and some friendly staff overall it was poor service and we felt that many staff couldn’t care less. We won’t be returning. This place does not feel like the restaurant of a 5 star hotel.

Enjoyed an amazing meal. Beautiful ambience, delicious food and AMAZING customer service. A very special MAHALO and thank you to our waiter (UJWOL) for the top notch customer service.

Hidden away in the depths of The Dukes Hotel. This classic British eatery deserves huge praise 👏 Staff are attentive and professional with excellent, perfectly cooked steaks. Mirana was our host highly experienced and her knowledge in assisting us ordering proved key. Starters were superb monkfish scampi for me and hispi cabbage for Head Office both were excellent. I opted with medium ribeye which was faultless and HO's fillet steak medium hit the mark. Accompanied by perfectly cooked hand cut Jersey royals yum. Bottle of champagne and it's the perfect evening in fabulous surroundings.

We had breakfast here and the service was friendly, but not very attentive. The food was average at best. We ordered a Chai Latte and they brought a regular Cafe Latte, so we returned it. The server was apologetic and admitted the mistake. We ordered omelettes and the cost on the menu was £12.00, but the bill shows £16.00 and they charged us for the Cafe Latte we never ordered. A total of £13.50 overcharge on our bill. It is our fault for leaving in haste and not throughly checking the bill, but one should be able to trust that a high standard restaurant like this one would be honest and charge appropriately. They already charged a service fee which given the service we received was unwarranted. I remember thinking that the bill was a bit high for what we had, but we had to leave for Buckingham Palace Tour, so just paid and left. When we got to our hotel, and I looked closely, I saw what they did. Look at the receipt vs menu prices. We will not go back.

My friend and I met for lunch and to talk, as we hadn't seen each other in real life for a long time. We were delighted with GBR. Helpful staff, delicious food, quiet and civilised. I had the set lunch, which is available on some days of the week and is good value with great options. I liked the look of all the dishes and found it difficult to select one of the 3 choices for each course. With helpful advice from staff, I chose the aubergine and walnut starter with fine seeded wafers, the lamb as my main course, and the Yorkshire rhubarb with meringues and rhubarb ice cream. It was all excellent, especially the lamb, and beautifully presented, with a smile. I've never tasted such good British food. My friend was not very hungry and chose from the à la carte menu, and her dish and glass of wine wine was great, too. Without hesitation we both recommend GBR. I'll be back and will tell my friends.

GBR is back open and is a lovely Little restaurant in Dukes Hotel on Little Saint James Street, at the quaint little dead-end street. Lunch was lovely but service was very slow. Surfing stuff for fairy polite and converse.

We stayed at Dukes in June 2022, their restaurant, the 'GBR' really isn't' 'great' at all. We were so disappointed. It was quiet, soulless and boring. The food was very average and not well presented. We had to get someone's attention each morning (despite being empty) simply to order coffee and juice. Very strange. We felt uncomfortable having to ask each time. We noted the GBR was empty in the evenings, meanwhile there is a waitlist for a table at Dukes bar (which was fabulous!) This restaurant is in a fantastic location and could really be something special with more effort.
