My husband ordered a chicken dinner to be delivered for me. Veg all undercooked, the lumpiest mash I’ve ever had, no Garvey at all, I had to make some for myself. Very bland Yorkshire pudding and one roast potato that was very nearly raw, so undercooked I couldn’t even cut through it. Never again.

We only called in for a coffee, so can’t comment on the food, but the staff were very nice. They brought a plate of sausage for our dog, and it looked like he thought they were delicious 😁

Absolutely devastated and upset at the behaviour I've just come across in Grays cafe on Bedlington Front street. I don't get to see my family often, so on a rare occasion I have my grandad and grandma in one place, me and my mam had agreed we would treat them to a coffee and I suggested going to Grays. Initially the service was lovely, I had told them at the beginning I would like to pay as a treat. When it came time to pay, I jumped up and asked to pay before my grandad, me and my grandad always have this and we make a bit of fun out of it, I thought this would be an occasion where I won the battle. Until the owner started shouting saying I was upsetting my grandad, shouting and screaming at me and my mam across the cafe. I've never been so gobsmacked, all because I wanted to pay the bill? As someone who works in hospitality as a deputy manager, I would never ever dream of behaving in that manner and I garuntee you I've dealt with worst customers than a granddaughter trying to treat her grandad. I've left upset, in tears and my grandad is upset too because of the way we were treated. So well done, you've upset us all on what was supposed to be a nice family day and embarrassed yourself and my grandad in front of your customers. There was no need for that at all. I could understand if I'd snapped my fingers or shouted at you to pay, but I just asked if I could pay the bill and you kicked off straight away, that's not a fair way to treat anyone. Normally I'd walk away and not say a word, but my grandad and grandma are my best friends and you've absolutely ruined our day. Grays cafe bar

Popped in here for a quick coffee as my daughter was next door having her hair cut. A friendly, family place with a basic but nice lunchtime menu, so I ordered a panini to accompany my pot of tea. Tasted really nice and the tea went down well. This is the sort of place you can simply arrange to catch up with friends at or simply pop in for a brew by yourself. Will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our turkey dinner with all the trimmings: food was beautifully cooked, well presented, hot and tasty. Extremely good value for money. Frances and Hayley went out of their way to make sure everything was right. Highly recommended!

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime, we were the only ones in at first. We were greeted by a very friendly owner. We opted for a tuna toasted sandwich and a white cheese sandwich. A tin of orange Fanta and a Diet Coke. The sandwiches were fresh and presented well. We opted for a chocolate cake and a cherry scone. The portion of cake was huge and we took what was left home, It came to just over £15, which I thought was a bit steep. Nice people and nice food.

I’ve visited Gray’s now on two separate occasions, my first visit was for Sunday lunch with my family, first impressions a very bright welcoming warm friendly cafe bar with fantastic staff, food which was roast beef with all the trimmings was fantastic, piping hot and beautifully cooked, followed by a gorgeous cheese board, a bottle of Peroni and a glass of red wine with my cheese. My second visit a few days later where I opted for the full English breakfast, and a coffee, again beautifully cooked and piping hot. Gray’s has only been open a couple of weeks however first impressions were fantastic, I will definitely go back and I’m sure Gray’s will become a regular of mine. Looking forward to watching them go from strength to strength.

Its a while since we've been, won't hurry back. Went for breakfast, no egg on menu, no choice of white or brown bap, tea was bag in cup no pot, took so long to arrive our drinks were gone.

Lovely place great staff. We had sandwiches but was asked if we would like salad or crisps or coleslaw with them . Everywhere I’ve been to offers you all 3! Especially at £12 per sandwich. Too expensive.
