Fui a la sucursal en whiterose y pedí comida para una persona discapacitada que estaba cuidando. Le expliqué que su comida necesitaba ser mezclada y si podía usar un tapón. La señora que estaba detrás del mostrador fue a preguntar al gerente que él se negó a que ella viniera y me dijo que intenté explicarle que si no podía mezclarlo, eso significaba que ella no podía comer la comida. Otro miembro del personal se acercó, se encogió de hombros y dijo que no era culpa nuestra. El peor servicio al cliente que he presenciado. Todo el tiempo que estuve explicando que el gerente estaba parado detrás del mostrador de pescado mirándome con el ceño fruncido en su rostro hasta el punto en que me frustré tanto que tuve que preguntarle si había algún problema. Le expliqué que el sitio web dijo que son amigables para discapacitados, pero él dijo que puedes obtener un reembolso si no usas el enchufe. En absoluto shock, tuve que dejar la tienda e ir a cazar para encontrar un tapón para mezclar su comida. Graveleys nos atendió maravillosamente, el orden fue bastante importante (ya que estábamos alimentando a unas 25 personas) y ¡no hubo errores en absoluto! Visited on Saturday @ approx 12pm.No queue or very long wait - ordered 2 lots of chips and gravy for me and my 5yr old as is tradition to eat this for a game at elland rd. (We’re from Norwich)They were hot, fresh and delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed them. Set us up for the afternoon a treat.Fully recommend

Right next to Elland Road happens to be this fantastic chippy. The fish and chips really are top class; they even do scraps like all the best. Queues aren't short but move quickly. Prices are fair and square. What more could one ask for?

Visited in The Core Monday lunchtime before setting off back to Lancashire,served by a very friendly & polite polish lady ordered 2 x fish + small chips @ £4:50,gravy + drinks,it was hot fresh & tasty and was fairly busy,didn’t want a huge lunch therefore just enough,and sat on there seating area too in the core centre,would eat there again if we fancied fish + chips.

Really disappointed after visiting today. I remember this name from Leeds Market thirty years ago. Not a patch on what I remember, service was good and friendly but the fish and chips are rubbish. Thick wet batter around the fish, the fish itself tasteless. The best bit was the peas, shame would not buy again.

Always eat here on match days and never disappointed. It gets busy and queues are often down the street but the staff are super efficient and move people through quickly. Was there before the game against Port Vale for fish, chips and curry sauce and were of the highest quality as always.

I wouldn't return. It's a chip shop. If they can't do good chips then there's just no point! The chips were very undercooked. It wrecked the meal. It was a shame as this could be easily rectified.

Has the fish shop changed owners , managers , or suppliers this year ? , i have been here so many times , it has always been fab fish and one of my favourite fish shops , i travel 20 miles from South Milford to eat here , I went at lunch time today and was very disappointed , the batter was different , the fish was over cooked , not anything like it usually is , very disappointed

Where do I begin? I visited Graveleys fish and chip shop at 2pm on Thursday 22/10/2015 and encountered the following experience:I ordered one fish and chips for lunch with curry sauce. The order was accepted and the person at the back started preparing it.I then went to pick up my takeaway order from the Turkish Istanbul Grill next door for my husband.I returned to Graveleys to collect my fish and chips and to pay the gentleman at the till.I handed over my card, which he accepted and put into the card reader. This is a signature card that I have always used everywhere else without any hassle.The payment went through immediately and he noticed a signature receipt printing out.He said 'is this not chip and pin? We do not accept signature card' in a very rude tone.I said 'no, it's a signature card' and I reassured him that it's okay as I've just used it at the Istanbul Grill next door without any trouble. I also mentioned that the assistant at the back knows me because I'm a regular customer.He said 'I don't care who you know in here' in a loud and angry manner.'It's my responsibility for this till'.I was astounded by the aggressive tone used here as I was only trying to explain.He then voided and cancelled the transaction that had already gone through. I was angry with his dismissive approach.He made no attempt to be polite in the slightest and was just rude and abrasive. I lost my cool a little bit at this point and told him there and then that 'I think you are being an idiot' (which was putting it mildly tbh).He then shouted 'what did you say?'.He then said 'get out' before grabbing my Turkish takeaway from the counter!I said 'that's mine from next door and I've paid for it'.Sensing I was angry at this point he passed it back over. This was a very disappointing experience and there are no signs whatsoever that signature cards aren't accepted but, besides that, he did not even bother checking it before taking it and processing the payment. More to the point, the transaction had already gone through.One would expect someone calling himself the manager of this place to simply say 'sorry, we don't accept signature cards' or words to that effect. Instead I had to deal with the rudest customer service I have ever came across in a takeaway.When I got home I asked my husband to call Graveleys and ask for the Manager or owner's phone number. He said he was the manager and he could not give out the owner's number.I was a regular customer here (twice a week) and was very patient on my previous visit last Saturday (17 Oct) when I collected a separate order of 4 fish and chips but the till was broken and the lady was on the phone for 15 minutes trying to fix it. I simply waited with my (already cooked) fish and chips until I could pay. It seems the staff aren't as patient as their customers, however.I will certainly never be back and from now on I will be taking my custom to Hartleys Fish and Chips down the road and Cove Fish and Chips by the train station who both make great fish and have friendly staff!

No opinion of the restaurant section but the fish and chips served here are second to none! I use the takeaway about once a week and not had an imperfect meal yet. The fish are large and coated in a beautifully cooked crisp batter. The chips are quite chunky and perfectly cooked and one portion is ample to share. Mushy peas are a good consistency and not too runny. Bought the sausages once for grandchildren and they declared them "delicious". Definitely my favourite Chippy. Very reasonably priced, in fact a few pence cheaper than some other local Chippies.

You'd think you couldn't go far wrong with fish and chips, but the standard can vary greatly and too often you're left wanting more, or better... Graveley's won't disappoint!The kids voted Graveley's the best fish and chips in Horsforth - I'm not disagreeing ;-)

We live in Pudsey so we are very close to there cafe and take away.During the week you can have fish and chips for two for ten pounds. Tea is two pounds extra for a tea pot for two now if that is not good value i dont know what is, the meal is cooked to order and we have never had a complaint all the times we have been there.

A small and basic restaurant but the freshly cooked fish and chips are lovely and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Decided to get a take out and after not enjoying them last time from here decided to give them amother chance. This will definitely be the last as I had to put the oven on to further cook the very pale and un-appealing looking chips so they have any colour and the fish while freshly cooked was absolutely swimming in grease when you pressed down on it. Shall not be returning.

. . . to paraphrase that Stones classic single, these fish & chips were cooked with love & care - served hot from the fryer- succulent fish with perfect crisp batter coating & chips just right, proper size, from quality spuds & not too greasy. This was our first visit to Graveleys - enticed by the ' 2 for £10 ' offer ( ends on Feb 26th ) & we weren't disappointed, restaurant quality decor- no white formica here, granite- effect tables, classy chandeliers & Norah Jones enhancing the relaxed atmosphere ( no she wasnt the waitress ). The menu was comprehensive with a few interesting & enticing extras in the starter & dessert sections, but sadly we were told this would be reverting back to bog standard choices in the near future. There is a comprehensive drinks menu & perfectly adequate & good value wine list. All in all, this is a great asset to the Horsforth / Rawdon area & we wholeheartedly recommend it.

8 came here on friday lunchtime and had a traditional fish and chip lunch, crisp batter hot fresh chips and bread with proper butter, normally go to wetherby whaler but this meal far exceeds what they offer, will definatley recommend, small restaurant, good selection and well priced for the local competition.

We decided to try Graveley's in Horsforth for a change from our usual place in Headingley.We believe these fish and chips to be the best in Yorkshire. Fish succulent with crisp batter and cooked to perfection as were the chips.Lovely Yorkshire tea served in teapot with dainty cups.And finally, the staff, well to be precise Laura was so welcoming, friendly and efficient.Although it was very quiet when we visited and wonder how she would cope if the restaurantwas full.We would say that this is how fish and chips should taste and customer service was excellent.Well done to you all at this establishment, you should have a thriving business in Horsforth,andwe will be frequenting the restaurant probably every week from now on.Thank you so much.

Have visited this restaurant several times and the fish and chips are the best we have ever tastedand it never varies. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. The pensioners deal also includes tea and bread and butter, although this is not stated on the menu.Full marks to Graveleys and keep it up, no need to change anything.We cannot praise them more highly.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this place, not being a huge fan of fish and chips. We called here for a family lunch on Saturday and were immediately welcomed and brought drinks and colouring materials for the children. I ordered the regular haddock and chips, and have to say that it was probably the best fish and chips I have ever had. The batter was light, crunchy and not greasy, and the chips were excellent. I had the homemade beetroot cake with lemon curd for pudding, and it too was exceptional, and unexpected in what otherwise felt like quite a traditional chippy!

I called here with a work colleague for some lunch and was extremely impressed by all aspects of this superb restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and this helped make this a very pleasant experience. I did not have a starter or sweet but the Fish & Chips were perfect. The batter was light and crisp and the fish itself was cooked to perfection. The chips were also of the highest quality.I shall certainly be coming here again and my wife is looking forward to visiting next time

Having been long standing visitors to Graveley's in Leeds I was amazed that a restaurant had opened up just down the road from us and we had no idea until our friends recommended it to us!The fish & chips are, as expected from a graveley's, to die for!! Crispy batter, golden and thin, exactly how they should be!I also tried the Chocolate mouse for dessert, a little pricey at 4.75 but it was as the waiter claimed well worth the money!Will be back for our Christmas party!

visited for the second time and found it had been taken over in june this year by david.a new menu and new prices.a bit more expensive than last timewe chose the 3 course pensioners meal at £9.husband had prawn cocktail which was excellent with larger than normal prawns and quite a big portion.I chose butternut squash and it came with a strange roll. we asked david what this roll was and he said it contained black treacle. well it was different. it came with a very small portion of I think garlic butter.the fish and chips came with a light batter and they were ok. but no bread and butter.the vinegar came in an unusual spray bottle and the salt was sea salt which tended to bounce off the fish and chips.for desert my husband chose the £1 extra trifle which he said was delightful and I chose the standard desert of chocolate fudge cake with pouring cream but I wish I had gone for the £1 extra of eton mess( I love meringue ) but it unfortunately came with pineapple ( which I don't like) and not the usual raspberries.we drank tea from blue willow dainty cup and saucers which was very elegant.the menu seemed very extensive but I think the pensioners fish and chips should also include tea and bread and butter.access is good for disabled as there is a slope into the restaurant and a very large toilet.the owner david was an excellent host.

We went to the restaurant for our granddaughters birthday, we were 6 adults and 4 children. The menu is quite extensive and varied considering this is basically a fish and chip place, there's a choice of wines and real ales as well as all the usual soft drinks. Between us we had a range of starters, mains and deserts, all were freshly cooked and delicious, light batter on the fish, excellent real and tasty chips and really scrumptious deserts.We're all back again next month for more birthday celebrations.

I can’t praise this establishment enough! I have eaten Take Away from the Fish and Ship Shop as well as eating in the restaurant . The Fish and Chips were the best I’ve eaten, the batter was delicious and cooked to perfection and the fish was fresh and fantastically cooked. It felt like it melted in my mouth.The Restaurant next door was also great, it provides a great choice of interesting sea foods which I found refreshing from the usual meals other fish restaurants offer. I was also very happy that they provided a good selection of deserts . I chose the Chocolate mousse, It tasted AMAZING!! i will definately be going back for more. Overall I’d recommend both the shop and the restaurant to anybody who wants to eat great food. It’s definitely become mine and my boyfriend’s favourite take out choice.

I've been coming to Graveleys for a while now and can't fault them at all. Originally coming from the seaside town of Whitby, I have high expectations for fish n chips. Graveleys of Horsforth is definitely on par with it's fantastic food, pleasant, helpful service and spot on cleanliness. My parents came over last week so I decided to take them to the restaurant as I hadn't been in a long while. It was great to see a whole new menu in place. So many new additions that we were spoilt for choice! I opted for scampi, chips and mushy peas which was delightful. Dad, being boring as always, opted for plain and simple fish n chips. He cleared his plate, which is a rare occasion and said that he really enjoyed it. Normally all you get is a mumble after he finishes his meal! The best bit though was definitely without a doubt the amazing home made puddings!The chocolate mousse that I had was heavenly and as for mums 'piña colada'- that looked incredible! I can't wait to go back to sample it for myself. All round fantastic restaurant!

Went quite a while back not long after it opened and i wasnt totally impressed and wrote a mixed review. if anything it appears it has got worse. very indifferent staff, no friendly hello, no apologies for nothing ready and the wait and no thank you at the eventual sale. Its a real shame as it is just what Horsforth needed was a good fish n chip `restaurant`. There are plenty Fish n chip takeaways in Horsforth of which three are excellent. I have not tried the restaurant part and wont do now as this was my second try of the takeaway and I wont be back. I dont know whats wrong with whatever it is they fry in but it imparts a strange taste and smell which is a little `off putting` and as with my last review the chips were on the soggy side. I suspect they are frozen ones.The fish was passable but yet again that smell and the batter a little slimy. Such a shame. Ahh well its travel to Murgatroyds in future.

First time here and went for the pensioners special.£7.95 3 course. Or £6.95 for 2 courses.1st course was veg soup and I was told it was homemade. It was very nice and very very hot in temperature and a little spicy. A roll came with the soup.Next was haddock and chips but peas are extra.they were good and the chips were of a nice texture. Bread and butter came with it.uWe had a pot of tea included and this was a bit of a problem. The milk was more than off. Mixed with the tea, there were white bits floating on the top of the tea, but in my husbands cup, who hadn't poured his tea, the milk was all gloopy and thick and that made me feel quite sick.The staff were very apologetic of course.For pudding I had the treacle sponge and I was told this wasn't homemade but the jam sponge was. But treacle sponge being my favourite I plumped for that but it was very dry inside so maybe I should have had the homemade jam sponge. Maybe too long in the microwave?? Probably won't go again. The staff are very nice though.

Popped in for a fish & chip lunch yesterday ( Sat 1st Feb 2014 ) with my husband, 10 yr old son & Mum. We used to have Graveleys from the White Rose Centre but sadly this branch has gone now, it was always good quality. The restaurant is very modern & clean with shiny black tables & even chandeliers ! We were greeted very warmly & the service was very good, we felt well looked after. We all had fish of various sizes, our son was happy as they accidentally cooked him a Seniors size fish instead of the kids fish bites which they still gave him ! My Mum was happy with her Seniors 2 course meal, we all enjoyed the tasty white fish though it was lightly battered so we would probably ask for it with well done batter next time. It was nice the scraps we asked for came in a separate bowl. The only downside was some of the chips were a bit hard as if they needed a few more minutes in the fryer. Mum's chocolate fudge cake desert with cream was delicious. The toilet was spotlessly clean & there is a car park behind the small parade of shops. All in all a lovely meal, we would return if in the area.

Had my first ever taste of Graveleys fish and chips in the Horsforth shop. The fish was lovely, light and crisp. The chips were not so nice. They were good enough but a little on the sloppy warmed up side. However I am a strong believer in customer service and feel this is part of any food experiance. You can have great food but if the service isnt good then it puts you off from returning. I think many businesses dont appreciate this. There was no friendly welcome and staff were too busy chatting with each other instead of making the customer feel welcome and want to return. There is a lot of competition around for good quality fish n chips so you have to stand out or fail.. I wish the new shop well and I will probably try again one day.
