Best pub in all Cornwall with some of best views and very friendly staff were nothing is a bother

We love visiting The Grapes. The beer and cider is good, staff friendly and they play some great retro tunes as well. Our dog drags us in every time we walk past because they have dog biscuits in a jar. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is that the gents toilets have a bad smell about them that wafts up the steps.

Incredible atmosphere, my band played here during freshers week. We were met by the most welcoming, friendly staff and a really enthusiastic crowd of people that were all safe and looked after in this pub.

Large pub which has the feel of a brewery or chain run. Lots of people inside, decent selection of ales & some tables with a view out to the harbour

Lovely pub, and great prices ( until they're increased on a Friday evening by £1 a pint for the whole weekend). Staff were very hit and miss. They all seemed to be students, which is fine, but most have less character than one of their biros.

We arrived on 30th July to stay in apartment close by. Our initial experience was very positive with a busy pub and attentive staff. However, our experience on the 4th August was less than positive 3 staff, 10 customers. A request to view the Olympics on 1screen was happily acknowledged by 1 of the bar staff. But, another staff member obviously needs to watch the football whilst working and changed a screen that nobody other than is were watching. We left!

Have had a lovely time here before, but coming this time was awful, attitude one staff member was abhorrent. I mean I don't mind a dismissive person as I can understand if you're having a bad day or just feeling that way, but to be plain rude is just weird, I can never comprehend it. I'd come here again as long as she isn't working lol

Visited on a packed evening during the Shanty Festival. It was very crowded and warm. Service nevertheless was efficient with good numbers of staff on, all of whom were well trained and polite under considerable pressure. Live music was on. Visited two days later for an evening drink. Staff were very polite, St Austell beer range, good selection of wines. Beer garden is a small cordoned off area on the Church St Car Park area. Didn't order any food. Nice view across harbour to Carrick Roads.

Pop in for a beer. Proper Job , the beer was cloudy I.e. off. But instead of just replacing it with an alternative refused as the alternative was slightly more expensive

Went in falmouth shanty festival, was very difficult to get served, after 20 minutes we had to leave, but overall atmosphere was great!

Really excellent venue for all round entertainment especially during the Falmouth International sea shanty festival. Short Drag Roger had a fabulous gig there

Excellent beer...best prices in Falmouth. No food but in association with Ragamuffins you can get excellent food delivered whilst you enjoy a good pint , good views & relaxing atmosphere

What a lovely pub such pleasant helpful staff and the cheapest real ale beer in the town although they don't do food three door up is Ragamuffins and you are able to order there and they will bring it down to the pub for you great prices too so get down here what more could you want oh and there is a sea veiw too

One of them oldest pubs in Falmouth. Recently had a makeover. Usually very busy when the football is on. Had the feel of a sports bar with the multiple big screen TVs. Good pint.

Don't expect a warm welcome here, supervisor was not helpful at all. And most importantly they do not serve food. Apparently under new management. Bring back the old management I say

Pool table, dart board and sky sports. Lovely people and fabulous bar staff. Carling on tap so we went nearly every night . Thanks to all the staff for a really enjoyable few nights in a warm and welcoming pub with views over the harbour. Forgot to say the music in the pub is fabulous a real great mix

Great place to watch the sport and good selection of wine

Not many places open in the area this time of year. Enjoyed a great lunch time at this location with great staff. Returned in evening, security staff were welcoming, one barman matched the friendliness the second should not serve and the young lady could do with similar customer care training Maturity lacking in evening

I found at each round, buying exactly the same 2 drinks, that the price varied each time I was served. That said, it was a great evening and the atmosphere was good all round.

Great night of Kareoke, didn't eat.

Taken over by new ownership a short while ago, now a Craft Union pub. Service remains excellent, all of the bar staff are friendly and a good laugh. Drinks are affordable, even ridiculously cheap for the area on weeknights, around £3.50 for a pint of ale. Bear in mind they use dynamic pricing, so you're paying about 50p more on busy nights. Other than that, I can't fault the place. Kareoke on Thursdays and a pub quiz on Mondays, it's a lovely pub to spend a couple of hours.

It can take a while to get served here but it can get very busy, they have a good range of drinks at a good price and overall, karaoke on Thursdays is really fun.

Great concept to allow us to bring in our own food! We enjoyed a pasty from a local bakers alongside a pint of well kept beer in a large and busy pub!

First time since the new owners have taken over, well what an absolutely fantastic place, great atmosphere, great people, staff were really friendly. Will definitely be going back again.

My daughter was threatened and banned from the pub (even though she’d never entered it) because their supervisor slept with her brother!!! (And his mates 🙄) My daughter is a quite and innocent Young student starting out in a new town and this was very disturbing!! Tried to complain and they removed my comment, didn’t make contact to Rectify the upset their staff caused just blocked communication, which suggests to me they cover these awful wrong doings from the staff! Disgusting BULLY behaviour by supervisor!! The Grapes Inn should be ASHAMED. That their staff abuse their power to intimidate and bully young girls!!!!!

Fantastic Pub!!! Great Staff and Pint is perfect. It is situated very well. The Grapes is the best pub in Cornwall.

It has been re-done so well, the interior is one of the most pleasant out of most nightlife/pubs in Falmouth. Fresh and clean and welcoming to dogs. The staff are fabulous, so smiley and even joined in on tonight’s Karaoke!! The vibe is great as it’s locals and a mix of ages which is just great. Love the pool table and darts, the new seating is also great. Prices were: £5.15 for Rattler, £4.35 for Staropramen, and £5.50 for a double vodka (Smirnoff) and cranberry juice. Also worth a note they have feminine products in the female toilets, deodorant and body spray in the men’s and dog towels, treats and water- really accommodating. Overall a fantastic and welcoming pub with really good prices.

It's a cosy pub and has its own style. The staff were very friendly. It has a great view. For those looking for more entertainment there is a dart board and pool. I was also pleased to see that they have towels for wet dogs and sanitary products for women. I will definitely come back.

NEW OWNERS- have refurbished the Grapes really well much cosier with some lovely seating areas at the front of the pub as well as the back now. They won't be doing food so it will be a community pub something for everyone! They've got tv's for sports, games for families and children, so lovely that they have towels for wet dogs as well as a dart board and pool table. Great place to go on a very wet day as well as a sunny day. We'll be back thanks Mel and Gideon best of luck on your new venture! x

i was enjoying a delish pie cottage pie pne evening when a young sir who said his name is Michal came and spoke to me. I was in awe. He was so kind and treated me so fairly, i miss him. If anyone knows where i can find him, please let me know. Food was about 3/10 sausages were cold

Awful, if only we had read the other reviews before going. Under cooked burger served in a plastic basket. Complained about the burger and the same one was just l re cooked instead of a new one. Grim. Staff attitude was appalling also. Avoid!

Good food, good ales, excellent service, cooked as you wait, good service all round.

Wouldn't rush to go back. To be fair there are warning that the food is cooked to order ours took 50 minutes and we were prepared to wait. Mac and Cheese at nearly £15 was Luke warm and had to be sent back, fish and chips was ok and a hunters chicken Burger with limited chips poorly presented (red plastic basket) with less than a tablespoon of Coleslaw one glass of wine 2 diet cokes and a lukewarm cappuccino for £62 quid. I know the cost of living has risen but we had better pub grub in another establishment further down the road for just over £40 including drinks.

First time here,just popped into here for a quick pint lovely place with great veiws and outside seating and bar,unfortunately the barman who served us was very unhelpful and miserable I hope he was just having a bad day and not like that every day.

Woefull. 3x adults & 2x kids meals nearly £80 it’s a couple of drinks. What arrived was 2 meals for £10 quality at best.

Staff a bit off the pace or clueless hard to tell better pubs in the area

The guy who served us at the bar was very helpful and our food was really good quality with large portion sizes.

Very friendly and helpful staff, despite being very busy. Told that food would be roughly 30 mins, though didn't seem that long before it arrived, and was really good and worth the wait! Definitely worth another visit and would highly recommend 👍

Waited hour and half for food, very very slow, over cooked, definitely NOT worth waiting for.

Let me order drinks for family asked about food. Returned in a few minutes to make a order for some meals and was told they have “put a stop on food orders “ not really happy and misleading to customers.

Not a good choice on menu very slow service 90min to get a ploughman's then the apple was brown it had obviously been cut & left . The cheese was missing .nit enough pickle to put on enything it was in the same paper cup you get ketchup in at macD's . On the plus side the ham was OK. So cost £13 for a bit of ok ham . Got my money back as we didn't bother eating it . Been here before had several good meals . But definitely gone down hill

An adequate menu, had early evening meal, good was fine & staff very polite & efficient. Mac'n'cheese tastier than it looked. Good location, great views from inside. Outdoor seating available too.

Awful food miserable bar tender wont be back

Five of us had meals , one being a child's meal , nuggets, chips ,beans . The server rocked up with our meals ,two of which wer scampi , chips , peas and the child's meal an we looked at our meals and thought we had ordered all kids meals by mistake ! . Ours consisted of around six scampi , about nine chips in a stupid little basket and two dozen half cooked garden peas. Kids meals sizes at top dollar prices for dated pub /restaurant .

Expensive food and the staff refused to make a burger without relish when ordering. Pray you dont have any allergies since they wouldnt bother accommodating for it.

Nice bar staff who were helpful when choosing a beer. Great background music and nice atmosphere.
