Grand Ruby in Preston

Family get together ruined by, the worst food I've ever had in my entire life. Chicken tasted off and was green, the mushrooms were old and mouldy. Chips had been refried probably 10 times over in dirty oil, noodles tasted of a cleaning product. Curry Sauce was freezing and congealed to the tub it arrived in, prawn Toast also tasted funny. We spent £58 and it all went in the bin. PLEASE DO NOT USE, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!! Thank me later!

After having read mixed reviews we thought we would give Grand Ruby, Preston a try. They were very accommodating with our requests, vegan option and omitting other ingredients from our other dishes. I really wish I had listened to the negative reviews! What a waste of nearly £40. It was unappetising to look at and eat. The chips were dry and horrible, the crispy chicken was soggy and the noodle dishes had a strange taste...I wondered if they had been cooked and stood somewhere. Never again, horrendous!

Just placed an order and after the women on the phone read it back to me and I ticked it off my list the food came and was missing something. I phoned grand ruby up to be basically called a liar which I don’t appreciate. The right way to deal with this would’ve been ‘’sorry I made a mistake, you haven’t been charged for it, I will get it sent to you now but their will be a charge’’ but no she was rude! Lost a good customer as I always use this Chinese!

Probably the worse meal I’ve ever had. Not used grand ruby for a while, wish I hadn’t bothered returning. Portions were huge but everything tasted sweaty and re cooked, even the chips and noodles. Beef and mushroom dish tasted of a moist slipper. Noodles had the consistency of a tub of congealed porridge. The chips tasted like they’d been re cooked in cold cheap engine oil. Tasted like wet mouldy cardboard.. The fortune cookies were damp and soft and smelled like the 1970’s… £52 not well spent.

Disappointing and disgusting. Chips were warmed up and inedible. Hair in our main dish of lemon chicken. Prawn crackers had an old smoky oil taste.

Bought food from here for years but tonight the curry and satay were far too spicy. Couldn't eat much before it became inedible. Wonder if a change of chef or ingredients supplier! Non spicy dishes were excellent.

It is second time I have ordered from here, first time it wasn't nice ,even worse the second time, so tasteless absolutely awful

Ordered Special satay , picked up and when I arrived home I got chicken satay ,rang up and told them it was wrong order to be told that’s what’s written down, well I didn’t write it did I then they try and turn it back on to you as if you’ve ordered it wrong, LAST TIME, it won’t be happening again

Had a special fried rice however, the meat was very dry and overall, it wasn't very nice. This take away is conveniently located for us but unfortunately we would rather go further afield.

Food was pretty good for the price. We had quick delivery too - 25 mins to Hedon.

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. Either boiled to death or tasteless. Even chips cold and leave a greasiness in your mouth. If you can drive past do so is horrible

Shocking customer service, put on hold whilst taking other orders not a problem but they then delivered the wrong order, chicken instead of prawn and wouldn’t except the fact the mistake was on there part. Hubby had to make the journey and demand money back as they complete refused to send the correct order that we actually order every time. They now have two less customers. we should support small Business but it’s a luxury to have a takeaway so I want what I order not a substitute.

Popped in for the first time and ordered food for three. Two mains with fried rice and a Chow Mein (that comes with noodles) for £23. Not cheap, but probably about normal these days. The food was pretty good all in all, as was the service. The main oddity is that they only take cash - no cards etc. - so be prepared!

There's not much to say about a village take away atmosphere.... You go in, order, pay and leave. The staff are friendly enough and always have a smile. It can be hard to get through on the phone so sometimes quicker to just turn up. Food has been hot and tasty each time, the salt 'n' pepper chips are so good!!

Foods always good and they deliver to all the little villages around which is good too 😋

disappointed tried an hour to get through when they did answer i was put on hold for over 5 min while the other fone rang it was answered that happened twice staff needs a gee up used to be a great place and service

This is one of the best meals I have had,excellent service and super fast delivery,and as always the delivery driver has a smile on his face when delivering. You will be hard pressed to find a better takeaway in this area.

Use to be a nice Chinese years ago but year by year got bad and the owner greedy all food basically tastes the same and you can't really say anything is outstanding and when i say the owner as got greedy as an example.you use to get a omelet with either boiled rice or chips included i tried to order one the other day and asked for boiled rice and they tried to charge me 50 pence extra as they call it a swap out 24 years i have been using this place.

Excellent Chinese takeaway, personally the best in the area and they deliver.

We moved 2019 some distance but lately we have visited with our plates in the car to eat our sweet n sour dish. We have tried 3 Chinese over here on the South Bank and none matches our taste of grand ruby

Thought we would give this place another chance wish we had not bothered. Wrong order given chicken chow main was all noodles and a bit of chicken oh & sorry found one onion in it dry no sauce in it. The speciel fried rice cloggy anemic dry & meat dry peas tasted old never again sorry can not believe the place was busy.

Absolutely awful food ribs looked and tasted dry with the tray swimming in what was supposed to be barbecue sause looked like chip oil in a burger tray salt and chilli chips looked a week old Staff was rude and refused the refund keep the £12.90 mucky ....s

I honestly don't know how this place is open. I ordered for the first time tonight. The chips looked and tasted a week old. The ribs dry and swimming in something ( definitely not bbq sauce as asked for) . We didn't even open the rest. Returned within 5 minutes of pick up. Asked for a refund and told no. Rude staff especially the young one. I understand many people use it, they clearly don't have a pallet!!

This is the worst Chinese we have ever had. The order was nearly an hour late and when it came it was so dry. No sauce at all. And greatly overpriced. Please don't waste your time and money.

Absolutely disgusting. Salt and pepper chips really old and soggy. Stunk of vinegar. Crispy beef very dry hardly no sauce. Don’t know how dumps like this are still trading! Vile!

Reading the reviews I was expecting a great meal but no sadly not pork chow mein tasted like boiled cabbage absolutely disgusting. Singapore noodles was like you dropped a whole pot of curry powder in it. Worst chow meins ever!! Plus point was the pork balls and sweet and sour sauce. Needless to say I would not recommend.

The food was beautiful, Preston is quite a way from Keyingham but they deliver, it takes a long time but the food is still an acceptable temperature when is arrives. The price is pretty much as a muchness

If you love Chinese then you will love the food here and the price is good value

We decided to try this chinease after Hedon chinease went right down hill ( beef was like jelly ). Very pleased we did it was really good will be going here from now on

Served very quickly. Food was delicious.

They told us 20 minutes for our order to be delivered then an hour later it came with only half the order. They said they would go back collect the rest and drop it back in 30mins. When they arrived they told us they forgot the order and told us to call and re-order. Don’t waste your time ordering here.

The chips where dry old (yesterday's) the BBQ sauce was weak gravey. The meals where tasteless. Won't be going again

Lovely place little hidden gem. Food was fantastic, I'm a vegan so the manager was very patient and helpful with me. My family also found the food fantastic. We will definitely be back very soon. There was a young training girl she was lovely and really looked after us.

Just had chicken and mushroom and shredded crispy chicken in ok sauce and it was very very nice also chips were surprisingly good for a Chinese. Impressed will be back again
