A work colleague organized a meal out for us here. Made reservation for 20 people but more if us turned up. Not a problem. They organized extra seating. Food, service and ambience was fantastic. Staff are brilliant. Will definitely eat here again.

Visited for dinner, only 2 other tables in restaurant. Sadly very little atmosphere. Food was ok, nothing wow about it. Service mediocre considering how quiet it was. Staff appeared not to happy to be there which is a shame as the restaurant has very nice decor. 1st visit, not sure I'll be visiting again. Massalla Hut at Cross Gates is far superior and better value for money

Absolutely faultless! We went on a Saturday night and it was busy but not packed, we didn't need to book. The staff were very chatty and welcoming. Our food arrived quickly and was just lovely. Decent portion sizes and reasonably priced too. Can highly recommend the pickle tray and Peach Love. The waiter checked how our food was and the owner himself came over to check everything was ok. We'll definitely be back.

Not worth the money. ordered Tandoori king prawn. Only few overcooked and burnt prawns, full of onion masala for which they charged me 14 pounds.

I booked a table for 7.30 for a special birthday treat for myself, from stepping in the front door we didn’t feel like a valued customers… no one came to us, I had to go to the bar and said I had a table booked I was told to take a seat. There was a large party group already seated the staff seemed more interested in the larger party group that was already seated, we were placed on a table next to this group and in front window which was very cold. It’s not very nice being cold when sat eating out in a restaurant We had to wait to order drinks and they came again to ask if we wanted more drinks as the food was no where to be seen. I said I’m waiting for food not more drinks. …it was 1 hour when we eventually did see any food, The large party of people were very load and had screaming kids running around, we couldn’t hear each other speaking at all. I had to ask for the bill twice and still had to go to the bar to sort out the bill as no one came with it. There was a lack of communication from the waiters not very friendly no interest at all in making you feel welcome Wouldn’t go again

The curry was supposed to be an house special. It was watery, lacking depth and so disappointing. The starter a Tandoori mixed grill for two people priced at £14.95 was a joke. The lamb was tough and the portion size was poor. I won’t be ordering anything from this restaurant again .

As part of our Curry club, we visited the Grand Indian Lounge, Swillington Leeds last night. Excellent service food was great and great value for money. We will certainly visit this restaurant again in the future.

Been here several times and as always the food and service was excellent, table was booked for 7.30 but I rang them as we were ready an hour earlier and they fit us in without a problem, the meat thali was fantastic

I haven't visited The Grand Indian for a number of years - I'm so glad I returned! It has had a wonderful glow up since my last visit. My friend was able to be catered for, as she is coeliac, and so needed gluten-free options. I had Lamb Tava, which was extremely good. Kingfisher on draft is always a winner for me! And the staff were so friendly, chatty, and accommodating. Don't miss this place!

Out of date soft drinks on our takeaway order today, for the second time. Shocking Was a five star as can't fault the food. Great atmosphere. Good staff. Quick service. Very competitive prices. Great for takeaways and delivery service. Best curry house in the area by a long way.

No heating. Was freezing cold. Had my meal with a coat on..

What an utter joke…waited 50 mins for starter. Main course was lukewarm at best, tasteless and congealed. Rubbish, don’t waste you hard earned cash!

Visited the grand Indian on Valentine's it started well got our popadoms and pickle tray drinks gent serving us was lovey he brought are startes which was really nice we then didn't see him again after starters were cleared we then waited nearly 40 mins for our main course which was like warm and just plonked on the table .. we was supposed to get ice cream or coffee but after a further 35 minutes of waiting we was ready to leave we was offered some Bailey's shot when we asked for the bill we waited another 20 mins for the bill we got there at 6:10pm and it was 8:50 by the time we payed service was next to nothing food on par with a local take away not how we wanted to spend 3 hours of our night for a simple meal

We have supported the Grand Indian for a while now but think it’s time to find a new takeaway. Whether ordering through the app or on the phone, don’t tell me 25 mins & then leave me waiting an hour. It’s getting to be a habit - disappointing

Food was great but very overpriced for the size of portion you get in the mains. 11.99 for a tikka masala that had about 6 bits of chicken in. Staff were very attentive and couldn't ask for more but a bit out of our budget compared to other Indian restaurants in the area .

Visited this restaurant with a group of friends. The reviews were good and it certainly lived up to the hype. Lovely staff, friendly and attentive and the food was superb. Nice size portions and came out hot. I’d highly recommend the breads, we had rotis and garlic naan bread, awesome? Desert menu was terrific, just about everything you could want. We will definitely be going back 10/10

Fantastic restaurant I travel from Bradford to come here! Staff are super friendly amd helpful. The chefs can make you anything to your taste. After 15 years living in London and bradford by far my favourite Indian restaurant to date

What’s not to like. One of the best curry houses and very imaginative. Brian’s curry aside, go there to see what a Brian’s curry is about, how about beetroot chicken curry? Yes I thought odd and not for me, as I don’t like beetroot. WELL I DO NOW. A signature dish and very different. Staff very friendly. Buy a voucher for your friends as a present.

We was staying in holiday inn down the road and this was literally a few minutes down the road from us. The building is clean, spacious and inviting. The service was really good from the minute we walked in, to drinks and food etc. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything had so much flavour. We ordered too much but we really enjoyed everything we had and if we do ever come back to Garforth we will definitely be coming back for an Indian. The best Indian we’ve had and we have tried many Indians! 10/10

Service is spot on if you dine in. If you order take out, don't expect your order to be ready for the time you requested. Each time I go, I wait for 15- 20 mins after schedule time to have to ask where my order is to be told it is being bagged up & to take a seat. On this occasion, 3 other orders waiting a long time for online orders.

Normally I love food from here and visit the restaurant regularly. Tonight's food lacked depth of flavour and not very much 'filling', nearly all sauce. It was very oily, and there was no/little salt. I ate some of it because I was very hungry. Very disappointed.

Amazing quality food - didn't want to mark down on delivery time as took about 1hr but actually I am ordering from a restaurant 15 minutesn drive from my house at peak time so that seems fair (and was on time). We always recommend grand Indian lounge!

What can you say about The Grand Indian that hasn’t been said. The food is impeccable, the staff are absolutely and always amazing delivering quality food with nothing being too much trouble. We will continue to visit here in the years to come.

Amazing service, been coming here years, finally decided to bring my small children, one who has allergies and they were so accommodating. Food is amazing and staff are very pleasent. One of my favourite places to eat.

One of the best around Leeds 26, I normally go for a Madras, this time we had a chicken Bhuna and a Chicken Balti to see the difference. Not too hot, plenty of flavour, and the Garlic Nann was out of this world, well worth a visit, we will return at the end of August, but we can't make it any sooner due to work.

First time visit ,made to feel very welcome by front of house ,food was excellent ,very tasty and hot . Staff were pleasant and weren't pushy, making you feel like you need to hurry up like some other places in the area. All in all we would recommend this place and will be returning soon

Food was absolutely disgusting. The chips were the only thing that was nice. Thought we would give it a second chance as the first time wasnt nice however wont give it a third chance! VILE. However the delivery man was extremely lovley and he needs to work somewhere with his level of standards

We have supported the GIL since opening and have some very fond memories of family meals. fantastic pickle tray good starters and garlic nan Main course curry a bit hit and miss with flavour and chicken quality, but the owner and staff made up for it,. We wanted to book for a family 60th and retirement ,the total number was 32 plus one highchair and one wheelchair. We rang on Sunday 9th July at 5.25 to be told by a member of staff they did not have a ramp so the wheelchair user could not gain access he could not have cared less. Do not want to cause any embarrassment to the person in the wheel chair by lifting her out and up the two steps,so we have booked elsewhere.Can i say this is the first time ever we have encountered this problem, always staff have supplied a portable ramp and we have been welcomed . SO hurt by the staffs attitude, SHAME ON THEM WHAT HAPPENED TO DISABLED EQUALITY ACT!?? On average we spend £25/£30 pr head plus drinks when we visit. The bill would have been in total around £950. Surprised they can afford to turn custom away , on our last two visits there were just two other people in at 8pm. Oh well, all things come to a end. We will be trying a recommended one nearby. 1 CURRY ITSELF HIT AND MISS

Great food. Best Indian takeaway around

Gave this Indian 4 chances now, needless to say it hasn’t got better at all. In fact, it’s getting worse. The food is terrible and the sauce in the curry is non existent. The staff are fine but the food is what you go for and that’s not enough to lure me back anymore.

Just returned from a lovely evening at Grand Indian Lounge with my husband and our 11 year old son. We took advantage of the Wednesday Special 4 course meal for £16:95 per person which is incredible value for money. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely the best Indian food, in our opinion, in the area. The only thing better than the food was the service! Every single member of staff spoke with us at some point and were so friendly and welcoming. We had a great evening and can't wait to return again soon!

Wow, what a lovely meal here! The mixed grill starter was amazing and the curries had a great flavour but were a little thick/dry. Would try some different dishes next time and also try to go on a banquet set price evening - not sure what days of the week they are though.

Visited for the first time. Had a family member that had a birthday and the staff took the cake and played along with the surprise. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable. Best curry we have had for years. A must visit if you are in the area!!!

This restaurant has really gone downhill!Waited over an hour and a half for 4 mains despite chasing twice. Food was pretty bland too. You're better off going to Table 26 across the road, as the food and service is 100x better. I contacted Grand Indian about my experience and they didn't even bother to reply. Won't be returning. Very disappointing.

Food arrived 10 minutes early was hot and ready to eat. Tandoori chicken jalfrezi was 1 of the best I have had in years. Chicken tikka creamy was really good too. Rice and chapattis also good. If this is the quality of the takeaway we are off to the restaurant asap. Thanks for Everything.

Was our first visit last night. amazing place, fabulous stuff the food it’s just right also very clean. I’m very happy to found this place. Look like it’s gonna be my favorite Indian restaurant.

NO NO NO! Never again. £36:00 for 2 sounds about right for a quality curry. BUT, round obviously frozen naan bread grilled no, chicken tikka starter again probably grilled/microwaved. Mains "meat balti!" mmmm beef possibly but not the balti spice you expect. West Yorkshire does curry, these dont, if you want a £20 curry for over £36 fill your boots!!!!

Lamb chops were charred. Cheesy chips were put together in a bag so all cheese had melted to bag, very amateurish I thought. Curry, rice and naan all nice enough.

Had mixed starter for two 10.95 and rhubarb chicken 10.95 stuffed paratha 3.40 and pickle tray with four poppadoms 5.95. outstanding quality and service one of the best curries I have ever had. Two people prices per dish. Kingfisher 4.50 per pint approx.

What a fabulous night we had at the Grand Indian Lounge celebrating our sons 18th birthday. The food was amazing and the staff all went above & beyond taking care of us. Highly recommend and a big thank you to all.

Visited tonight for my Husband’s 50th Birthday. 10/10 as usual-food is always top notch and service. Has been my favourite indian food restaurant from when it opened and will continue to be so.

On a cold January night we were made to feel welcome by friendly staff, especially Enam, who ensured everything was just right. Food was excellent as normal.

Food not very nice. Ordered for 4 of us and nobody really enjoyed it. A lot of food wasted. After spending nearly £70 to be that disappointed, won’t be ordering again.

Having visited Saturday, the experience was nothing like our last visit some time ago. Chaos is the only word which can describe it. They seemed to be far too under staffed meaning the service was far too slow. We were all sat with empty drinks...

We've been going to this indian for a very longtime now.. Once a month taking a minimum of 20 people everytime. Firstly we sat at our confirmed table. Had the poppadom round then around 30 minutes later we were told we all had to move...

Worse Indian EVER… arrived 6:20pm and the restaurant was 1/3 full. When we tried to ask about the menu the waiter said he didn’t know and walked away. Only ordered a main course but after having to go and ask at the bar TWICE (...

Went here with family one weekend. Food was ok but nothing special. The restaurant was cold and we ate with coats on. We went late on and was one of the last in there . Maybe we were unlucky but I won't be going again...

A family birthday meal ruined. Service was terrible most avoided us after moving our table. Took 1hr to order starters and mains. 2 hours before food was served to be told rhe childrens meals were out of stock. 30 minutes to order a drink. Blue...

Nowhere near as good as eating in the restaurant. The butter chicken wasn't sent we got a korma and the meat was chewy like it had been microwaved, same for the bhajis-really chewy. Everything else was nice. Been to the restaurant loads and it's always much nicer.

Food was shocking, cold and horrible. If its on the menu as mild then its basically a korma, the sylheti bahar chicken, an overpriced korma. The chapatis were like cardboard to the point they were broken how they were folded they were that dry. The garlic nan was so greasy it was inedible. The poppadoms were either yesterday's or last weeks they were chewy!! The grand garlic balti was basically garlic with a bit more garlic and a whole load of garlic and a couple of pieces of overcooked chicken. As for the lemon rice, completely inedible and horrible. The chips didn't look to bad for all 8 chips but again were cold and last weeks! Basically spent just short of £50 on inedible food. Grand waste of money.

Christmas day booked in for 3.30. Stood outside for 35 min in the cold,waiting to get in.When we did get inside there was on man serving drinks which was why 25 people couldn't get in to the restaurant.Many of those waiting were elderly and were struggling to stand for so long.The place was under staffed and total mayhem. When I got to the front of the que I made my views known to a member of staff and demanded my £20 deposit returnd to me.I would not recommend this place to anybody. Felt like a sheep herded to the slaughter.Very poor way to treat so many customers paying £35 on Christmas day.Shame on who ever was in charge.Looked to me like the only interest they had was to get your money.
