I've been meaning to visit Gracey’s for a while, though it’s a couple of hours’ drive for us. It’s located in quite a charming little town. We’ve tried a few other spots in London, like Vincenzo’s and Patio Pizza, but we were very impressed with Gracey’s. We ordered one Margherita and one New Haven Apizza. The Margherita was flavourful, with a lovely richness in the tomato sauce. The basil was fresh, and the mozzarella was delicious. I’m tempted to try the buffalo mozzarella version next time I visit. The dough on this one was firmer than the New Haven but had that characteristic chew of a New York-style pizza. The New Haven Apizza was fantastic. We’ve been to Wooster Street in New Haven and have had Sally’s and Pepe’s a few times. Gracey’s version was remarkably similar to what we’ve experienced there. The pizza was not only fresh but had an amazing char, just like a proper New Haven pizza. The dough was crispy and thin. It would be great to see a few more New Haven items make their way onto the menu here. We said hello to Gracey herself at the end and she was very friendly and happy to chat. We’ll definitely be back. Worth the journey!

One of the best pizzas in greater London + I’ve tried them all and this ranks pretty high up as amazing pizza. I got the new haven and a margarita. Both spectacular but the new haven was the one to get again! Staff are super nice and accommodating.

Great pizza, service, the works, call in advance to reserve your pizzas and I understand they only make a limited amount every day and sell it whilst the dough is at its prime

Gracey's pizzas are exceptional! I placed an order for several pizzas for an event I was hosting on a Saturday afternoon. The service they provided was as good as they pizza they made! Highly recommend Gracey's and I look forward to visiting again soon.

Deliciously authentic pizza. Very close to pizzas I've had in Naples. Indoor and outdoor sitting areas. Friendly staff. The calzone was my favourite on the menu.

Not bad pizza but paying £2 extra for a tiny tin of sauce and £1 extra for hot honey on the pizzas to not even be able to tell there was any on there, unfortunately soured the experience. Service was also somewhat lacking as poor communication to what to do. Had to get our own drinks and ask for the sauces we had pre-paid for, and had to wait 25mins for the pizzas despite having a collection time of 8pm- which would have been if this all had of been communicated to us as to this was how it all worked. Could be great with some small improvements

Loved the pizza here and would definitely come back. Quite a low key location with not much parking so would be easy to miss but worth a visit if you’re a pizza lover! Restaurant has a sort of street food vibe, very casual. We opted for the larger size pizza and ended up taking more than half of it home in a box so I would say only order the larger size if you are sharing with someone. Thanks all for having us 🍕🍕🍕

Had the plain tom, melanzana, New Haven, and spring special “Finally Sun”. Unreal! Especially the special- the mojo verde was delicious.

Service as it should be, pizza as it should be, vibe as it should be, you get me? We love going back to this place. Being italian we’re pizza snobs and Gracey’s has been a great find for us. I 100% recommend it to anyone.

I stayed local for work and and was looking for something nearby that was different. The pictures caught my eye and i had to have one. Ordered the large Ron Pizza and it was amazing! It was around £21 i think but will do for seconds later or next day if you can't eat it all. The taste was beautiful. Little Floppy but nice, cooked to perfection on top and bottom. Nice and thin. If your local or popping by then pop in and get one to eat in or take a way. Staff very happy, helpful and actually look like they enjoy what they do. If I'm staying that way again I'll be sure to come by again.

Just stumbled upon this place, absolutely fabulous food and vibe. Were happy to do a half and half pizza. Would highly recommend if proper Italian pizza is your thing !

Fantastic pizza, especially the new haven pie. Crispy, crunchy with the right amount of tang in the sauce. Was worth the 1.5hr travel via multiple trains and bus. Will definitely be going back for more!

Pizza here is divine. Really good pizza made with quality ingredients and fresh. The flavours are unforgettable and when you add hot honey drizzle it adds a beautiful new dimension! Got takeaway from here but will totally be back to come and sit in.

We had the Craft & Clever vegetarian pizza and it might be some of the best pizza we’ve had in the UK. The mushrooms and peppers were a perfect sweet, umami combination and the crust was crisped to perfection. Will be coming back here over, and over, and over….

After my new found appreciation for quality pizza (inspired by Dave Portnoy), been researching about this place for almost a month now. The pizza was nothing less than expected, absolutely astounding. The dough was so soft from the inside and crunchy from the outside. It’s unbelievable how they haven’t got a queue of people lining up outside. They’re so passionate about their craft. Tried both new haven (from the secret menu) and the margarita. I could not decide which one was better. So took home each slice and air fryer them both to see any difference, and still nothing. Both have a unique and unexplainable taste, you gotta try it yourselves. The undercarriage of the new haven pizza was just perfect. Prefer the hot honey dip over others. 9.6/10 New haven pizza 9.6/10 Margarita 10/10 home made tiramisu Will be visiting this place regularly from now on.

We arrived by car and there was plenty of parking available. We sat on the tables outside which were basked in the evening sunshine. The staff were friendly and accommodating and there was a family friendly atmosphere. The drinks were delicious and the pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had! The crust dippers really complimented the flavours of the pizzas, which were cooked perfectly. What a wonderful restaurant. Thank you

Came here after reading a review in The Times, the review stated that Gracey's does the best New York Style Pizza outside of NYC; I can vouch for that. My husband and I came for dinner this evening, the place was really busy, but the service and food were not compromised in any way. We pre-ordered our food at the point of arranging a table, and the food came out within 10 minutes of us arriving. Pizzas were crispy, dough was definitely fresh, the toppings were generous and there was no grease on top. We also tried the organic ginger lemonade as well as a larger, and these were good too. So glad we read about this hidden gem- definitely going to be our go-to local pizza place!

incredible pizza, however disorganised kitchens and long wait times on the day i went. the staff were friendly and did their best to accomodate. very small cozy store, and very great pizza. hot honey is a must have, and delicious ranch sauce also.

My mother was born in Naples she’s been here a long time, but when I brought her a pizza from Gracie’s tonight or she could say was this is the best pizza I’ve ever eaten in this country that’s praise indeed from a Neapolitan !!!!

Have picked up pizza to take away here a couple of times and it's always top notch. Personal favourite is the bufala, very garlicky and the mozzarella is really good quality.

Graceys pizza is an absolute gem. Their pizza is ridiculously good. The crust is perfectly crisp and the flavour was bursting. The owners are extremely hospitable and lovey people. Definitely our new go to pizza spot. Thanks Graceys!

My wife said this pizza place was recommended by someone online as their choice for best pizza in the UK (something like that anyway). We’d not heard of it before and we were only 15 mins away. So we pre-ordered online. When I arrived the people who work here had time for you which was nice. When I was waiting for my order outside (took less than 5 mins) a bloke called Tony (another customer) was surprised I hadn’t been to Gracey’s before and went on to tell me that when he lived in Italy the pizza was great BUT that the pizza at Gracey’s was better. I said that was quite a review so I thought I should include that in this review. The pizza was tasty! Good vegetarian selection too. Good experience and would recommend for takeaway.

Best take away pizza in St Albans, is very popular and do run out of dough and order slots, so recommend pre-ordering as early as you can to avoid disappointment.

I don't eat pizza often but got recommended to try Gracey's. Wow, they certainly didn't disappoint. With a small but well put together menu they certainly know how to work those taste buds. I was made to feel very welcome, the staff were very knowledgeable and open to suggestions. (not that I had any) I'll definitely be back to try the other uniquely topped pizzas. Well done guys. The arctic monkeys first appearance they said “don’t believe the hype”. Gracey’s is somewhere which not only should you listen to the hype but, be prepared to have any expectations beaten. Pizza is so often done poorly. Limp undercooked bases, dough that’s had as much care and attention as the late Shane MacGowans oral hygiene routine, toppings that are bland and the whole thing swimming in oil. At Gracey’s, the dough is clearly freshly made and done to a fantastic standard. It is then cooked to perfection which creates a thin crisp crust as opposed to the limp imitations from other places. The toppings are of excellent quality and they are used in just the right proportion. It is then served and finished to create, without question, the best pizza I’ve ever had. The New Haven style specifically is unbelievable. And to be honest, having sampled a lot of the menu now, it is all delicious. If it’s the first you go, sitting in would be the best idea to get the pizza at its absolute best. So if you live close, you HAVE to try it. If you live far away - make a trip! Keep up the excellent work and I consider myself very fortunate to be in such close proximity!

The New Haven pizza was arguably the best pizza I have ever had. It is a very nice and cosy area to dine in and the staff are also very friendly! It is definitely worth a trip to St Albans for sure!

After wanting to go to Gracy’s for a while we finally made the hour trip and it did not disappoint. The pizzas are fantastic! So delicious. We also had both the desserts and they were really tasty also. We will be back.

So so tasty ! Ordered online after seeing on tik tok. Went to pick up and realised we could eat in there Piping hot. Crispy and charred bottom. The flavours were absolutely spot on. Can literally taste all the different cheeses. The mushroom pizza has pee roasted portobello mushrooms all chopped finely. The flavours were out of this world. Will definitely be back. Definitely eating it to get the full experience would be the best way to enjoy

We love Gracey’s. So friendly and helpful, and wow, the pizzas are by far the best we’ve ever had out. Best gluten free base we’ve tried anywhere so far. Thin, crispy New Haven style bases and delicious tomato sauce. The only thing that would improve them would be being a little more generous on the toppings! So lovely to see this place thrive.

After seeing the reviews on google (mostly 5 stars) I absolutely had to visit. We decided to call ahead on the day just in case and they warned us there was only a handful of 16'' bases left one of which they allowed us to reserve. They were also kind enough to reserve us a table for 3 from 5:30pm. We promptly arrived at 5:30pm and our table was ready. Our pizza orders were taken at the counter (a big base bufala and a small base smoky ron) and were warned it would be a 15/20 min wait which we were not fussed about. We got our soft drinks from the fridge and our wine was brought to our table. Our pizzas were delivered on a two tier rack that was placed on the table which was ingenious as it allowed us to have both pizzas on the table at once! We had our pizzas with all three sauces all of which were great, the hot honey being the most unique. My one criticism of the sauces is that they could've been a tad thinner, the pizzas are heavy enough! The pizzas themselves were absolutely incredible. Probably the best in St Albans by a country mile putting all the Italian restaurants to shame. The bufala was rich in tomato and so juicy and yet the base remained completely crisp throughout. The smoky ron was also great and both were demolished crusts n all. You could tell this place was a hit from how many pizzas they were getting through the door. It was busy! But that didn't distract us from the awesomeness of the pizza. If you're about and want pizza GO TO THIS PLACE. Make sure you call in advance and/or pre-order to avoid disappointment as I doubt this place will ever really be quiet... FYI - I mill the flour at Redbournbury if that means anything to you!

Popped in here and got a large pizza. Should have insisted to eat in as by the time we got home it was cold. Good pizza but quite expensive for £18. Very very thin base. Not enough chilli.

This place has the best pizza I have tasted in years! crispy thin and tasty base, yummy sauce and toppings. there is limited seating so worth booking or going early. Staff were brilliant, welcoming and efficient. I would definitely recommend it

I’m from NY and was a bit sceptical at first as I’ve tried so many “NY style pizza” in the UK and nothing tasted like home but this is definitely a NY style pizza, probably the best Pizza I’ve had here and even better then some I’ve had in NY

It is such a joy when you face a great pizza. And this place really brings a lot of joy in the heart. I have tried tonight, for the first time, Gracey's Pizza and can confidently say it one of those places that hit the spot. A perfectly cooked pizza with the right char underneath, great toppings and quality rich and sweet tomato sauce on the top. The family who runs the joint is lovely and everyone is super friendly and smiley. I am not local so decided to eat in. I was early on my booking but they did not make a fuss and were happy to serve me and I voted to take a seat. They welcomed me and brought me some nice fresh water and a glass, which was a very kind gesture. They checked on my a couple of times to make sure I was happy. The heartwarming feeling of a great pizza, with the right crunch and taste, combined with the atmosphere has worked out the magic and for half an hour I was in heaven. I definitely recommend this place for the food and even more for the people who run the business. They are worth a visit themselves. Best of luck with the business moving forward.

Tasty thin pizzas with a crispy base. The large ones were off the menu so we had three small ones. They were tasty but could have done with slightly more toppings. The Aubergine one had 6 tiny pieces on it . No desserts were available either. Would return but missed out on a 5*,

We went for the first time tonight and will definitely be going back. The restaurant is lovely, staff are very welcoming to us and our dogs, we had 2 pizzas which were both delicious and they have a great range of tasty, different to normal drinks!

I had the hubby do a 40min round trip to collect pizzas from Gracey’s and it was worth it without a doubt! * Ordered 12inch pizzas as 16inch was showing unavailable on website (possibly due to oven size!) This wasn’t a problem for us. * One 12inch pizza was enough for a 12yr old and a 9yr old to share. My husband and I managed to eat a 12inch each, going back for the last few slices after a short digestion interval. 🐷🐷 * Crunchy, chewy and bubbly Napoli style pizza crust. * Thin and floppy, New York style base. My wobbly toothed son was able to eat it without any discomfort. * When I reheated a few slices at home, the base firmed up nicely but the crust was still edible despite being super crunchy. I love my pizza as stiff as a frisbee so no complaints at all! * Perfect ratio of sauce and cheese to base (id say 50/50 ratio) with toppings spaced around beautifully like a work of art and not just chucked on. I appreciated this attention to detail. * Called up to order and was able to get a collection time 1 hour sooner than what I was getting on the booking app on the website, so ring in to order unless you have your sh_1t together better than me. * Despite being VERY busy (Saturday night) with dedicated punters waiting outside in the rain, my husband mentioned that owner James acknowledged him from the back of the kitchen and shouted Hello 👋🏼 at him. This is normal for a midlands lass like me but being a Norf Landan lad who isn’t even accustomed to eye contact from strangers, he was really touched by this gesture. * Having previously owned a food business myself, I know the sheer graft that goes into doing the job well. The customer service and quality of pizza we enjoyed today will 100% have me supporting Graceys in the future. * Would love to eat in next time and try the pizzas straight out of the oven! * I wish Gracey and James absolutely every success with their business.
