The food was all so fresh and absolutely delicious. This is the best Chinese I’ve had in Cardiff. I’d definitely recommend, just be wary that their dishes are all quite spicy

Atmosphere and staff are nice. The food was very greasy. I mean, very, you could see the grease from my lips on the can.

This takeaway has proven to me time and time again that the food is never swimming in grease, full of delicious flavours, staff are always helpful and very kind and delivery is never an issue no matter how far you are!

Amazing food, great prices, and large portions! The employees were extremely kind to us! They even threw in a few spring rolls for us! We will 100% be coming back here!

Usually the food here is spot on but this time not so. Every time I order I specify in block capital letters NO CHILLIES AS THEY MAKE ME EXTREMELY ILL. Took one tiny bite, about half the size of my fingernail and it is LOADED with Chillies TOTALLY INEDIBLE. My whole meal was ruined as it was on top of my rice. Rang the restaurant to complain, whilst gulping down milk and trying not to be sick. They offered to replace the beef but not the rice. So I now don’t have a full meal (when it arrives) Asked how this absolutely catastrophic error occurred their response was ‘oh we must have given you the wrong meal’ so they admit mistake but won’t replace the rice. The rice that is their fault is ruined as they totally messed up. They are extremely lucky that I only had a fingernail sized amount and that I’m not on my way to hospital! Very very poor!

Nice clean take away, no frills and cash only. The food is always good and served quickly. Like everything else, the prices have crept up recently. You can usually park nearby, but recommended to arrive on foot. There's a nice spacious waiting area and a table with a few chairs should you wish to dine in. Overall very good, just not as competitively priced as before.

Food was nice but I waited over an hour for my food. Was promised a can of coke because it was late, I didn't even recieve it.

Amazing and Super yummy 😋. I would recommend it to anyone who love Chinese food. I especially love the chicken rice and crispy beef. It much cheaper to order on the phone then online. Also the food is much quicker to cook and tast better if you come and collect. There is just a cash machine just by them. The staff are super nice and you can get so much noodles just from one bowl. Also the chicken balls are super crunchy and huge!

My go-to in the area, it isn't perfect but it's always been a favourite of the family especially due to the fact it feels less greasy than your regular Chinese takeaway. I think prices have gone up recently, but otherwise it's still as nice as the first time I had food there. Be aware that it's cash only.

I don't know what it is. We've been there several times. Dry items such as salt & pepper squid and Chowmein are good, but their curries are just way way to thick. Even after asking them to keep it thiner. It was disappointing the last time we got a takeaway from them. I think we are done going there.

This is the Best local Chinese takeaway. The food is always lovely, the staff are super friendly. Highly recommended.

Try Singapore fried vermiolli from here. It's so good. Only downside is they are cash only

Always has been my go to chinese takeaway. But last order they delivered my vegetarian wife a chicken dish. Phoned them and said would replace order next time.Yesterday we tried to get our replacement. Would only replace the chichen dish for a veg one and not the side also wanted another delivery charge.Joke will not be using them again.Management is easy when things are going well.How u do when things go wrong is the test.They failed miserably

Had them numerous times before, but tonight 45 minutes late, was told an amount over the phone, had to pay more. No apology for lateness either! All the food was dry and most of it overcooked, salt and chilli chicken and prawns, overcooked prawn toasts, very poor. Offered 10pc off next delivery not good enough!!

I’ve been a regular customer for about a year now since the first lockdown closed my previous takeaway. I’ve stuck with Gourmet Kitchen as meals are consistently good, never delivered late and 5 star hygiene rating, also reasonable delivery charge. Happy to recommend them.

We’ve ordered from here a number of times since moving to the area almost 2 years ago and they have never disappointed. We live close enough to collect so can’t comment on delivery (where most negative reviews are focused). We normally almost always order the veggie set meal for two which is just amazing value for money and very tasty. Will happily continue to use if they continue to deliver in quality....

Ordered a meal at 6pm tonight to be delivered tonight for 7pm still waiting for it at 7.45 hey turned up gone 8 pm in the meantime fed up with waiting went to Posh fish and chips food dekicious , Chinese toured up after 8pm TOO LATE, was looking forward to it...hey ho your loss. Wont be bothering with these people again..,

Order not ready when they said it would be. Instead of giving me an updated time I was continually told it would be a few minutes. Ended up waiting for an additional 40 minutes before asking for my money back. This was met with a lot of attitude. Shame really as I'd always enjoyed the food from there.

Absolutely disgusting service. I will never use this place again and the same for everyone I know. They missed items from my last order and no answer when I called back. Eventually got through days later and was offered 10% off my next order and the missing items back if I added that to the notes. They got the order wrong AGAIN! I paid for what I had ordered then a lady called me shouting and very angry. Repeating herself over and over again that I had done something g wrong by doing exactly what I was told do last time. I said that if they had sent me more than what I ordered then feel free to collect it. The lady carried on ranting and repeating herself for about ten minutes then hung up on me. If I treated my customers like that; I wouldn’t have any customers.

Absolutely immense food, I went for sweet and sour spare ribs, beef chow mein, chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, lasted me 2 days and it still tasted amazing 👏

Delivery time was 1 hour 30 mins which is already bad. After 2 hours we ended going to collect it because they hadn't even started cooking it! When my husband returned with the food they had missed a dish and the worst thing is the chicken was pink. Disgraceful! Do not order from here!

Lovely food as usual. But the place has become a fortress against Covid 😵

I waited 2 and a half hours for the food as they hadn’t checked the app , when the food arrived it was awful ..the chowmein was dry , the curry tasted like cheap powdered curry ..the pancake rolls tasted very fishy and it cost £22 with delivery ..avoid at all costs !

EXCELLENT 5 STAR DINING no doubt , HIGHLY RECOMMEND Well I'm absolutely speechless, food was delicious, service excellent, very polite staff,when you order you will not be disappointed, We have eat in many 5 star restaurants and this takeaway was definitely 5 star standard the pork, chicken was deliciously tender and tasty everything up to the peas was very well cooked wow that's all I can say ,delivery was quick ,very satisfying meal my first time eating here and now my absolute favourite . Thank you very much for a very pleasant experience.

Food is amazing!!! Very kind they gave us free spring rolls when our order was under 25 pound as a one off! An there receptionist Jodie is a laugh very polite an very bubbly if you want a laugh while ordering your self some wicked takeaway jode is your girl best food on the strip!!!!

Excellent food but customer service is extremely lacking as rude, abrupt and overtalks customer while trying to order . As a regular customer this is extremely dissapointing especially for the business.

Tried to place an order but unfortunately was unable to do so as the lady on the end of the phone had such poor English I couldn't understand what she was saying, took me 5 minutes to give her my postcode.. I asked for another member of staff which none were available so I ended up cancelling and going elsewhere.

Absolutely awful! The person answering the phone was completely useless and barely spoke a word of English. Everything that was said was completely illegible! How does this place function?!

Very polite staff on the phone, amazing food and twice we’ve been told around 1 1/2 hours for delivery both times have been around 20 mins earlier. Would highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. Also enough for a full meal the next day. 🤗 amount of food enough for 3 of us to have two meals. Duck with pancakes, barbecue ribs starters both lush. Chicken chow main, beef with black bean sauce, sweet and sour chicken x 10,balls, egg fried rice large, 2 bags prawn crackers, chips and extra plum sauce. All lush Total £50.

Used to use this place all the time, but after waiting over 3 hours to recieve the wrong food I won't be bothering again. Waste of time and money.

Dont bother! One star because the food is decent but it's not worth the wait. On 3 different occasions I've ordered food for delivery and it's taken over 2hrs to arrive. No warning, no courtesy call to say why etc. There are plenty of places within walking distance that are just as good and wont mess you about.

One of my absolute favourite Chinese takeaways at the moment. Great selection, freshest tasting ingredients, competitive prices, and generous portions. Add to that helpful professional friendly staff, what's not to like?! 👍😎

Best Chinese in Cardiff!! I recently found out I have coeliacs disease and thought I wouldn't get to have Chinese takeaway again... The staff were so understanding and made me a special gluten free version of everything I wanted :) tasty, hot and arrived quickly. Also my boyfriend had the crispy wonton and says they were delicious :) xx

Do not order from here if you wan't poor customer service and communication skills ordered food instead of them giving me a large chow mien they gave me chips so i called them up she said about delivering my chow mien and it would take 45mins nothing came by then my food was obviously cold so i called them back up then she said that i agreed to having the portion for free next time like why would as then I'm obviously not having my money worths of food that i paid for today so then an hour later after that call it finially came it's a pity as their food was nice but never again from here for me

Wrong order, sent chicken balls to a vegetarian order. Over 30 minutes late and the food was cold. Rude staff and had to go through just eat to resolve as they “didn’t see a problem”. Advise to go elsewhere

don't order food if you want it within 3hours. absolutely terrible service , and when you ring to find out where your food is you get the same answer " its just left" . never pay for your food up front as they make you wait longer .

Absolutely garbage the chicken wasn’t even cooked. Or plucked, or even dead in fact my spicy crispy chicken was a live hen with spicy powder sprincled all over her. I abopted the hen and called the rspca. This barbarian why of cooking food must stop. A least kill the bird first.

Exactly what you need from a Chinese takeaway. Can always rely on it for great for and fast service.

Very very rude staff. We made an order, waited an hour, called up to check on it, to hear the driver came but left. We had NO missed calls and our phone was working fine to call them back. We were told it was not their problem. So much sass and attitude from the lady and no help whatsoever. Cancelled order and never returning - I'd advise if you want customer service and actually receive food, don't go here.

This is really the best chinese in Cardiff! They have brilliant customer service, the portion size is plentiful and is so tasty and everything taste so fresh! From here I have eaten - sweet & sour chicken balls in batter, beef with ginger and spring onions, Singapore noodles, king prawn Thai curry, cocunut rice, crispy beef, boiled rice, chips. They really care about there customers. Do not go anywhere else. I don't get deliveries though so don't know what they are like on time scale. I always order and pick up.

This is my favourite place to get Chinese food in Cardiff! I enjoy experimenting with different items on the menu know that whatever I order will be unique and also taste great! The portion sizes are the biggest of anywhere in the Heath/Roath/Cathay's area that I've tried in the last 6 years
