Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) in Camden

I went for an early dinner on a Friday evening after a hectic week. Quiet at that time. Very small branch with limited seats and some outside too. Appears to do a lot of delivery. Clean. Staff were friendly and pleasant, good service but it was just me with a restaurant to myself! I had the Korean BBQ chicken burger which was a chicken breast fried with GBK seasoning, kimchi coleslaw, Korean BBQ sauce, sesame seeds and coriander. Chicken is halal. Sides are not included, so you need to order this separately. I had the sweet potato fries. GBK are one of the few places to do it. So good! The fries came with a complimentary sauce so I chose the tomato relish. Food was divine. Freshly made and well presented. Needed. Portion size is generous. The burger had a little too much BBQ sauce which was overpowering so you couldn't really taste the coleslaw. Very messy to eat. Nice but I wouldn't have that burger again. The fries were so good with the relish. Not cheap at all. Nice for a treat! Not a huge menu or variety but enough. Vegan options too.

I order via Uber eats and their burgers are literally the best!! Also try the sweet potato fries 🍟

Beware, beware, the chicken is expired, and it has a stinky smell. Today I was in the hospital cleaning my stomach. I waited in the hospital for ten hours.🤮🤮🤢🤢

Received an overcooked, burnt burger that tasted horrible. Probably the worst burger place in the area

Was quite disappointed by this GBK in particular. To start the burger was quite burnt on the outside which took away from the taste, it wasn’t just a smoky chargrill taste but burnt. Fries were very mid as well. Milkshakes one was very watery compared to the other. Staff prioritise the deliveroo drivers who were constantly coming in leaving a cold draft at this time of year unfortunately. Altogether the worst GBK I have been to unfortunately!

The great was super. I had some issues with my wowcher deal I had bought and redeeming this via the gbk app. Alexandra was amazing she was able to figure it ok and put the order through for us via the app and was able to use the wowcher. Thanks for saving our date night

He gave me the option to choose the degree of doneness of the meat, and it was cooked to perfection, best burger I've ever tried

The Korean chicken burger didn’t look like the picture at all. Looked lame and underfilled. Also the chicken was burned outside but looked red inside. Not tasty. The chips were very soggy. Definitely not worth the £15 plus service charge plus delivery. Food has been coming quite bad in my last deliveries and this was probably the last straw. Not getting from here again

I adore GBK! I highly recommend this place. I never get burgers better than i do here even if its at a high end restaurant. However, I am so upset they got rid of the chocolate chips in the chocolate milkshake and the very skinny fries! I hope they bring them back. Don't let that stop you from coming though!

Limited menu but its exactly what the concept is for a "medium posh" burger shop. The burgers are flavourful. Although I noticed some inconsistencies across the same item regarding texture and taste. I guess depending on the Chef but usually always good in different ways. I have had takeaway and eat-in here so I understand both experiences. Cleanliness can be better overall (Toilet, Restaurant floor and cups and cutlery). Staff and Management are great. I had my order mixed up order and the whole order was replaced for free the next time I visited.

I just had the best time in GBK! The cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The food was seriously delicious - each dish had its own special flavor that made me smile with every bite. The service was top-notch too, they really made sure I had everything I needed. Can't wait to go back and enjoy more!

I’ve visited twice and the table service is excellent with really friendly and attentive staff. The burgers and sides are super tasty and served hot. Portion sizes are good. The Oreo and salted-caramel milkshakes are delicious, come x-large size so very filling! Cosy and small venue with an American diner style ambience.

We ordered from this place for the first time on Deliveroo. We wanted to love it, but my "well done" patty was black and charred on all sides, and covered in condiments so it was not immediately visible. That patty shouldn't have been served. Bad quality and non existent QA. Avoid.

I recently visited GBK with my wife, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. We arrived at the restaurant approximately 30 minutes before the closing time, as displayed on Google Maps. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming lady who promptly seated us and handed us the menus. However, our positive expectations were shattered when another employee approached our table and informed us that the restaurant would be closing in just 10 minutes. This sudden change in attitude and tone caught us off guard. Understandably, we considered leaving, given the limited time remaining. When we expressed our intention to leave, the employee urged us to stay and place our order. Unfortunately, his choice of words left a bitter taste in our mouths. He commented that we should "mind the times" before entering a restaurant. This remark was delivered in a condescending manner, implying that we were at fault for not being more aware of the closing time. The encounter left us feeling upset and unwelcome. It's disheartening to receive such discourteous treatment, especially after being warmly received initially. The overall lack of professionalism displayed by this employee tarnished the otherwise pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. While I cannot comment on the food and service beyond this initial encounter, I believe it's essential for the restaurant management to address these issues. A respectful and accommodating approach towards customers, even during the closing time, would greatly enhance the reputation of the establishment.

Loved their burgers especially blue cheese with chicken panko burger and their oreo milkshake. 😋 I miss their satay burger which is off the menu now hopefully it will be back soon🤩

I’ve ordered from this branch of GBK before in the past. I usually order the same meal and I was very disappointed by the quality of the Taxidriver burger this time - it was practically inedible. The avocado was brown and stodgy, and I tried to remove this only to realise that I couldn’t differentiate between the avocado and the cheese. It was a gloopy mess and my burger bun was soggy.

This was the best meal of my life. The service was absolutely amazing!! Can’t fault

Tasty! I had ordered a few sides as they were half price, this turned out to be an epic combo, everything was poifect 🤌 (note - what is in this bowl is only half of each portion, I couldn't fit it all in to 1 bowl)

We really enjoyed our lunch here in this cosy GBK. The best thing though was how happy the two people working there were. So helpful too regarding the menu and intolerances. It's so good to see someone actually enjoying their job.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at GBK and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Server gave a milkshake 3/4 full and tried to charge the optional service fee and got upset when I asked to take off. She was of Eastern European descent with a poor command of the English language.

Easily my favourite burger place. Good quality meat, cooked to perfection. Their chunky skin on fries are lovely and I highly recommend the milkshakes.

Ordered via Deliveroo with plenty of notice. Food was delivered very late and cold. Pretty gross tbh. GBK prepare the food but are held to ransom by Deliveroo, apparently, so they take no responsibility. Deliveroo offer 25% refund, to use for their future services.Miserable and expensive experience..

Could do better in seating arrangements. Food wise could have coming more warmer then what we had. And takeaway delivery person should wait outside for their delivery those an the bikes or motorbikes. Management should address this quickly,. There was a smell in the restaurant which I presume was from the drains. Overall will back in distance future 😊

Pretty poor experience. The food is pretty expensive for a start and then you have to pay extra for everything else. Chips? Extra. Sauces? Extra. When I'm paying £13+ for a burger and £3.50+ for chips, I at least expect to get BBQ sauce for free. Personally, I'm not going back.

Never going to come to this West End lane, West Hampstead branch again. Would not let me leave a review without a star. Terrible customer service, we went to have a family meal on a lovely day and were turned away because my daughter had a peanut allergy, even though we have eaten at this branch many times previously without any issues. Their explanation was that they were not serving anyone with an allergy, which we found quite discriminatory. The children were very upset at the menor in which we were turned away. The bad customer service might explain why the premises is always so dark and gloomy.

Delicious food and pleasant service. Handy location for transport and parking on some side streets after 6pm - you have to walk 5 minutes as the immediate streets have long restrictions. Burgers are extremely tasty and not unreasonably priced. Wish they came with a side though! My burger was described as having some kind of salad, which I thought would be a side. It wasn't. It was just the filling. Fortunately, I'd ordered fries, otherwise that's £12 eaten in about 6 mouthfuls. Delicious but over a bit too quickly! Overall, a great place to enjoy a burger in West Hampstead, especially if you get good weather and can sit out on the terrace.

My first time at GBK but for sure won't be the last one. I been impressed from the Luiza and Silvia's service. They were quite busy with deliveries but always laugh and smile printed in their face. I had a fried chicken burger and it was delicious! The store was clean and well organised, I liked the atmosphere and the layout chosen. I'll definitely back!

Great service at the till (otherwise no table service), very friendly staff, super food! Recommended for burger lovers. Excellent sweet potato fries and garlic mayo sauce. Try the Taxidriver burger! Their 2 chilli sauces were excellent but the last time I went I was told they were out of stock and they weren't sure if they would be back :(

The burger I ate was by far the best in the whole world. And I have traveled everywhere. Back in India, when I was doing my apprenticeship in sword fighting, I encountered a young man who cooked burgers. He was very well known for his burgers, yet they were not as good as here. And then, when I went to Brazil to become professional footballer, before quitting after three years, I ate one of the most famous burgers in the whole world, done by Juan Jose. It. Was. Not. As. Good. As. This. One

The delivery service is 0 out of 10. I use deliveroo and GBK have twice got my order wrong. Very rude manager. I ordered 5 burgers well-done and received 3 rare. One was missing. When i called to complain she said that I'm lying. I took photos and she said she packed the bag. Very rude manager and very poor food. Shame that GBK are going down hill.

We've been ruined. We'll never be able to have burgers as good as these back home. One of us had the bacon cheddar, and it was incredible, with thick smokey bacon and delicious cheese. My blue cheese burger was so flavorful and had the perfect sharpness. The thick, skin on fries were perfect with the burgers, and next time we'll branch out and do their sweet potato fries (which I'm sure will be just as amazing). Their onion rings are real onion and very crunchy. Finally, the staff. Our waitress (I feel bad I never got her name) was the best. Funny, super friendly, she really was the icing on the cake. It looks like we'll have to keep coming back to London from Chicago just to eat here more - and we'll be eating there at least one more time before we leave.

Food was great as always especially the cheese and bacon burger! The staff lovely and accommodating but one member I’m assuming the manager was very hostile and I witnessed a number of times being rude towards the staff. Do better GBK I would hate to work with a manager like that!

Have ordered delivery a few times and always hit the spot, but latest order was miss after miss. First, burgers ordered medium rare arrived charred and dry. Secondly, the "Taxi Driver" burger arrived without any, and I mean any sauces or garnish. Literally a bun, a patty and a slice of cheese. Thirdly, the onion rings portion was 5 rings... That's just insulting at more than £4. We were always pretty loyal, basically weekly customers, but I believe firmly in reputation and only being as good as your last performance. Sadly GBK West-Hampstead's latest performance has been very disappointing. 2 stars because at least it was food that arrived, but what did arrive wasn't worth the price at all.

Visited West Hampstead on a Friday lunch time Was soo busy but the team did such a great job to accommodate all the customers. Food looks came out within 15min and was delicious

I had a really good experience here. Wet and windy not to mention cold Saturday afternoon. Empty when I went about 13:30 but filled up quickly. Treat day. Sit down, check the menu and order at the counter. Delicious burger and fries as I wanted. Medium cooked. Freshly made and well presented. Clean. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Would recommend.

Way too crowded, but additionally, at one point there were 4 delivery people inside, by the door, waiting ( at least 1 unmasked), instead of waiting outside. Nice staff ( unmasked), but I took my food away, felt too unsafe inside!

Service and food deserves more than 5 ⭐️

I love GBK but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in any restaurant. The manager (not the rest of the staff) pointed at a table when we entered, grunted hello, and then ignored us. My friend explained she had an intolerance to gluten but could handle a little, that she had been to other GBK's before, and new what she could and couldn't eat. The manager then proceeded to patronise and lecture us on what my friend could and could not order, kicking up a fuss about every choice we made. Eventually we got sick of the manager's attitude and left. I feel sorry for the rest of the staff, I've worked under many horrible, arrogant managers such as her and there is no excuse for their behaviour. Also, they never get any better and the best thing for them is to be sacked. I've also worked in hospitality for many years and would never dream of greeting/speaking to a customer this way. GBK if you care about your customer service, you should have her reviewed and fired. No wonder there's never anyone in this restaurant. I would rate minus ten stars if I could

Normally I would visit GBK 6-7 times a year. This bank holiday weekend was my first visit since last August, and I was very disappointed. Horrible horrible food today and very disappointed. Sorry guys.

Cheeseburger ordered, no cheese. Burger was overcooked and too dry. First and last take away! Very disappointing.
