Friendly cafe, always good service. Breakfast is great. Dinner, well, depends on how the chef feels that night. Sometimes its great and other times the vegetables are hard as a rock, chicken dry and overcooked.

We visited Chez Bob (not for the first time) on Pancake Day to take advantage of the brilliant 2-for-1 pancake deal. Our meal was absolutely delicious (we both had the Buttermilk pancakes), service thoughtful and efficient, and the price incredibly reasonable. Chez Bob has remained one of our favourite places for a date night - with great cocktails and an easy, comfortable ambience in the heart of the delightful Belsize Park, it's a well run restaurant with exquisite quality, a brilliant atmosphere and excellent service. I recommend brunch - the Avocado Smash is fantastic!

Had a lovely lunch, the sweet potato curry was really nice. Highly recommend a visit, whether it is a catch up with friends or a family gathering.

The staff are always really friendly and service is quick. Had the alpine burger and sticky toffee pudding, and both were absolutely amazing and really good value for money. It's definitely worth going for the happy hour, as cocktails are £3-£4 and super tasty.

Accueil sympathique (excepté un serveur). Carte variée. Les plats étaient très bons (plats+desserts). Un rapport qualité/prix excellent pour Londres.

Restaurant looks nice, menu is great. Steak frites is the go to as in big and bold everywhere from outside to inside Unfortunately, the steak is so thin you can’t have it less than well done even if asked 3 times as rare as possible and when served was described as pink (when no chance to find a drop of blood). Even after replacing it with another one a bit less cooked it was card box material. Might come back but avoid any steak or beef piece if you have cooking preferences. Staff were polite and understanding.

Tasty food though the chicken was dry & served by friendly staff in clean & bright surroundings. Near to Belsize Park underground station.

We visited for lunch and the service was very friendly and attentive and the sirloin steak was perfect. We will definitely visit again.

It was our first time here the service was good & welcoming . We had the burgers I have to say they’re nothing special , in fact our 10 year commented that he preferred Gourmet Burger I would have to agree We also didn’t didn’t like the fact that the service charge of 12.5% is included , a lot of restaurants do this but my thoughts are you tip what it’s worth Would we retire probably not

Excellent service and food. We ordered a Chicken Sawarma Mezze platter, the garlic bread and some naughty fries. Service was exemplary and the food was excellent. Going back there tomorrow for breakfast. Recommended.

First visit and we weren’t disappointed. Probably the best onion soup I’ve ever had. Couldn’t finish my steak, disappointed because it was delicious but far bigger than I expected. Staff couldn’t be better. Very attentive to my allergy issues, couldn’t have done more to accommodate. We will be returning.

La mesa inicial en la que nos sentamos era demasiado pequeña e incómoda, así que nos cambiaron (lo cual fue mejor). Suficiente variedad de menú y precios consistentes con el amplio Londres. Pedimos la sartén focaccia que estaba delicioso, pero muy pequeña como un elemento "compartir". La hamburguesa era sabrosa, pero los bollos estaban muy quemados. Los aros de cebolla se enumeraron como "crujientes" en el menú, pero eran de un paquete y no eran crujientes en absoluto. El pollo en la ensalada estaba recocido. Linguine era bueno sin ser excelente y en base de tomate pesado no es ideal para mariscos. El servicio fue razonablemente amable y lo suficientemente rápido. Lugar perfecto para una fría noche de enero, especialmente con las bebidas a mitad de precio hasta 7. 00 pm! ! Ambiente cálido y acogedor, buena variedad de menús con muchas opciones vegetarianas. Las ensaladas son geniales y el halloumi es delicioso. El servicio es excelente No habíamos estado por un tiempo, pero definitivamente volveremos pronto.

A quick early dinner with a friend. We went for the 2 course fixed menu and both of us enjoyed our main meal and dessert. We took advantage of the happy hour on selected cocktails which was a bargain. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

We were visiting Royal Free hospital in London and decided to have a meal out in the evening at Chez Bob the staff were really lovely very helpful the food was really tasty I had pasta in mushroom sauce with a side of veg my husband had Prawn and Crab pasta he ate every spoonful of it ,every thing was cooked fresh hot when it came out of the kitchen . The bill came it was very reasonable would differently eat there again and would highly recommend it

Nunca he tenido una experiencia tan positiva. Desde el proceso de reserva hasta la comida, Chez Bob fue tan cálido y amable, organizado, flexible, que lo hizo completamente libre de estrés y agradable. ¡Mis colegas (20 impares) quedaron entusiasmados con la comida, que generalmente no se conoce con una fiesta tan grande!

My friend and I popped into Chez Bobs in Belsize Park for dinner tonight after having spent the day at the Royal Free Hospital as I had been undergoing some tests. The staff were incredibly helpful once I told them I had to stick to a special Lodmap diet and ensured that everything I ordered was acceptable. The good was fabulous I had a steak ( fillet ) my friend had the Barnsley Chop and the food could not have been any better.

Its great to have a local independent restaurant and so we eat here often. Food, drinks and service are always good and the prices reasonable for the location on Haverstock Hill.

Had a lovely brunch at this place - I had the full English and wife (who is veggie) the smashed avocado on toast. Both dishes very tasty. Will visit again.

Staff christmas meal. Catered for 7 with presecco on arrival. Food all came at the same time and was all delicious. Staff were ensured we were having a good time and drinks were topped up and food was all okay. Great meal!

Lovely, reliably excellent food, with a good range of choice and a great atmosphere make this restaurant a must whenever I’m in the Belsize Park area. The staff are just fabulous and really go the extra mile to make your meal perfect, including going out of their war to accommodate guests with special requirements.

A slight improvement since my last visit a year ago but they are still missing the point! Food is basic and non inventive! Service is nice but doesn’t fit somehow to the kind of old fashioned french touch wannabe restaurant chain.

We can't say more how much we always enjoy Chez Bob. Lovely environment with very friendly and helpful staff, with very good food. We shall revisit, and definitely recommend for a non-posh though very enjoyable breakfast / lunch or dinner.

We went for the Fixed Price Menu. I normally select from the A La Carte but we were a group of 8 so it seemed a good deal. I wish I had had my usual teriyaki salmon! At 5.50 pm there were only 3sea bass left? How on earth is that possible!

Stayed in a local Premier Inn and this place was our saviour! Polite, helpful staff, chic modern establishment, clean and bright. The food was wonderful, had evening meal two nights and breakfast one morning and left feeling satisfied that we had great food at reasonable prices. Good value for money and would highly recommend

I have been here before and can quite honestly say that I have always had a good experience. My friend had not and was really pleased with the quality of the food which is also very reasonably priced. So, if you are looking for a really good quality meal go to Chez Bob in Belsize Park.

Not quite sure about the French connection unless this place were a Cafe Rouge in a previous incarnation. The menu here is rather eclectic ranging from burgers and Carolina pork ribs to Italian linguine and the rather English sounding roast chicken leek and tarragon pie or Barnsley chop. But as it was a weekday it was the lunchtime prix fixe which grabbed my attention featuring two courses for £11.95 and three for £13.95. I began with a very elegantly assembled prawn cocktail whose pink sauce covered crustaceans sat on a bed of lettuce between standing soldiers of sliced cucumber and avocado either side. Even better was to come with a steak frites with a garlic and herb butter melting substantial minute steak accompanied by some of the crispiest fries I’ve had in a long time, a sprig of watercress and a choice of no fewer than three mustards, including a wholegrain I enjoyed so much it was difficult not to consume it like a pickle. For a mere £2 more a bowl of blueberry compote atop a yoghurt with a trove of honey at the bottom. With a glass of Merlot, an espresso and service the bill came to little more than £20 which has to represent one of the best values for money I’ve experienced in a while.

Another fantastic Sunday brunch - super busy but such amazing staff who always get it right. I prefer lunch or dinner here as it's less crowded but the food never disappoints and there's something for everyone - vegetarians, vegans and carnivores!

Service and food always consistently good. Nothing is too much. Was watching a new member of staff being trained and the smiles did not stop. One feels welcome and the high standard of food is an additional bonus! Tasty and fresh ingredients and the fact changes can be made very easily means the kitchen does the work.

Chez Bob is the breakfast king of Belsize Park. You can have the best smashed advocado and poached eggs in town, with a side of whatever you fancy, a stack of fantastic blueberry pancakes with stuff. A couple of pots of Earl grey tea. Have meetings, make calls, read the papers, and a couple of hours later emerge having conquered the world.

I was organising a family meal of 15 persons for a Saturday evening in the Belsize Park area and Chez Bob was one of the few establishments able to accommodate our party.

Brilliant from start to finish. Buzzy atmosphere, friendly welcome, a menu with something for everyone. Food was tasty and very reasonably priced. Service was absolutely first class and makes such a difference these days, wherever you are. I have been before a few times and enjoyed it, but we left thinking ' why don't we come here more often?'. Which must be a very good sign.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining, with my brother, at Chez Bob. We couldn’t have been more delighted with the two hours spent. Warm and professional service coupled with great food. The atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed. Menus has good range. Lovely red and white wines, too; some offered at discount for promotion. We can’t wait to return! Thanks to the team.

Nice post cinema dinner, place was packed but service was fantastic. Massive menu lots of different choices, I had the chicken with garlic butter and fries tasty and delicious.

I had a really positive experience at Chez Bob, would definitely recommend. I ordered the cheese and onion tart and steak frites from their set menu all for £11.95. A generous salad came with my starter and the fries were great. Though the steak was admittedly rather chewy, you can't expect much else for that price. Overall I was very impressed with the service and quality of food - everything was tasty and came out quickly. I'd definitely go back, there are so few actually nice places to eat in Hampstead/Belsize Park area.

Having been recommended we were expecting a great evening. The service was lacking apart from a willing and pleasant waitress who unfortunately didn't speak fluent English. We had our meals delivered, one not as ordered which was rectified fairly quickly. Two of us had steaks which were tough/dry, the (over-priced) side dishes were under-cooked and not flavoured as promised. We asked for the bill and asked for the service charge to be deducted only to be met with an argument. Explained that food was not worth the price charged and the 'supervisor/waiter' had a very bad attitude. Will not visit again and would warn others to avoid.

Had a lovely meal and drinks at Chez Bob. Chicken dish and pasta dishes really good. Staff great and attentive. Well worth a visit if in the area. Nice to sit outside too when sunny or warm. Blanket provided on chairs.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, but it was close, available and for what it is, perfectly ok. Simple, honest comfort food is probably where I’m coming from, but for what we wanted it was just perfect.

Stopped here since there were many satisfied-looking customers and it was a nice sunny Sunday afternoon. Had the Madame Bob sandwich that was very rich with flavors and goodies, and the staff was very attentive without being intrusive. Good food, ambiance, and location.

This is a good restaurant in a good location serving good food at good prices. Sitting outside on a warm summer evening under lovely mature trees enjoying the food and watching the world go by. Only spoilt by the endless smell and smoke from the two chain smokers on the next table

As locals we've been to Chez Bob many times and absolutely love it. They have a wide selection of food ranging from breakfasts to evening meals, drinks and cocktails. The staff are very friendly and there's a great atmosphere. When the weather is good there's plenty of seating outside, for a table inside it's often worth booking.

Very very slow service. Waited over 1 hour for the main food to come. Table was not properly cleared as we had 4 empty glasses laying on the table for at least 45 minutes. Food was okay, but nothing special and definitely not worth such a long wait. We ordered dessert and after 30 minutes of clearing the mains they told us the dessert we chose was unavailable. Very disappointed and would NOT recommend.

We were staying at the Premier Inn up the road and wanted somewhere for a good breakfast before heading to the cricket. What a great find the food, service and atmosphere were great. Eggs Benedict Royale, Mushrooms on toast and the Brunch special all excellent, really good coffee and fresh orange juice. Perfect! Will definitely return when next in the area.

Having been recommended to Chez Bob, we were very disappointed. Inside it is loud and echoey. The service is average at best. We waited ages to order from a very restricted set menu and Happy Hour choices are even more restricted! The food was disappointing: lukewarm and no flavour. To top it all, they add 12.5% service charge to the bill. I prefer to tip as I see fit; it's supposed to be discretionary not compulsory!! Not a restaurant I'll be revisiting.

Steak frites excellent value....served by first rate staff....give it a try. Even better with a piece of lemon rather than the garlic butter.

The food, staff, restaurant are all amazing. The menu literally has something for everyone - loads of vegan and vegi options. Grilled and Teriyaki salmon are terrific - my favourite - good wines to choose from and a buzzy atmosphere. A huge plus are the big glass doors they open on summer evenings onto their massive outside seating area. Great before or after a film at the Everyman right next door!

We have dined here many times for dinner, we just love this place, the location, food, atmosphere. The staff are all superb and so attentive, particularly the waitress who served us, I don't know her name, but she is amazing.

I have been there twice now- both times with friends for lunch- and thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the experience both times! The two and three course menus are a great value, prepared from fresh ingredients and beautifully presented and the staff is attentive and helpful! I am already thinking when I can come back!!!

Nos topamos con este restaurante cuando buscábamos algo fácil para cenar después de una boda. El personal muy servicial nos encontró una mesa para 2 a pesar de estar muy ocupado. Buena comida, tenía los calamares para comenzar que era realmente bueno y una generosa porción ya que compartíamos entre 2. Luego tuvimos los kebabs de cordero con harissa y lentejas, el cordero estaba perfectamente cocinado, rosado y delicioso, ten cuidado con la salsa harissa que está caliente, pero funciona bien con el yogur y las lentejas. El plato principal se retrasó un poco y el personal se disculpó extremadamente aunque no nos habíamos quejado. Sin duda volvería si en la zona.

Popped into this restaurant during the week for a quick meal with my daughter. The building works outside did not help the ambience but they will not be there all the time. We were greeted and sat at our table by very pleasant and helpful staff. The menu is varied with a very reasonable fixed price meal or a la carte if you prefer. The food was again reasonable if not spectacular. The staff continued to be charming and helpful even changing my daughters starter as it was prawns which were breadcrumbed although this was not how the menu described them. Saying that the staff changed the starter immediately and a replacement provided without fuss. The prices are fair and this is a good place for a reasonably priced meal in good surroundings.

A wonderful neighbourhood café / restaurant with a real welcoming and cosy feel. I eat here at least once per week, be it a lovely sunshine breakfast, or a tasty dinner when I cannot be bothered to cook!

We really enjoyed a delicious brunch here on Easter Saturday. All the staff were friendly and helpful, very professional. Everything was served quickly and tasted delicious - poached eggs perfectly cooked. Great coffee too. Kids were given coloring pages and crayons as soon as we sat down. Highly recommend this place.

Staying in Belsize Park to go to Rich Hall’s Hoedown we were looking for something to eat before the gig. We wondered up and down the road between the hotel and the tube station and saw Chez Bob, we dithered a bit and wondered were we really just going to be uninspired and up at GBK as we often do when staying here. Eventually we decided to give Chez Bob a crack and it was the best decision we made that day. We came in quite early and the place was fairly empty, though that changed quickly. The staff were lovely and solicitous, without hanging on your shoulder. I tried the Camden Hell lager, and then tried several more. I had Korean BBQ wings for a starter, nicely firey but still flavoursome and my wife Sharon had an halloumi skewer thing, which has left her with a determination to eat more halloumi. Mains were a Philly meatball burger from the specials board for me and crab and prawn linguine for Sharon, who definitely won the mains round. I had pear and blueberry crumble and Sharon a peanut butter cookie with vegan ice cream, this round was a draw as both were delicious . Lots of vegetarian / vegan options whilst still offering plenty of choice for us carnivores, this will definitely be our choice of eatery for the next visits to the area.

We have now been here 3 weeks in a row for the brunch service and because the croque Madame and sweet potato fries are so good I’m struggling to pick something different. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. Thanks guys see you next weekend.

The restaurant had happily organised tables for two sessions (9.00am and 10.00am) for brunch for wedding guests the day after the wedding. The restaurant was well organised and the staff produced a wide range of tasty meals which came at the same time -eggs royale and benedict were ordered along with pancakes, and porridge -if you order the porridge you won't have space for anything else! There are also large glasses of fruit juice, and the teas and coffees kept coming. Making the whole thing a very pleasant experience.

Visited for brunch on mothers day and had a lovely meal. Prompt service, delicious food, nice atmosphere, was a little pricey but it was worth it.

I booked a table a week ago as we were a reasonably large group, I requested to all sit together. Arrived at 10 this morning, table ready and our lovely waitress ‘Anna’ was ready to greet us with a big smile. We all had hot drinks, followed by breakfast and more drinks and Anna was amazing getting all the drinks out and all the food which arrived all together. Most of us had the full English, one pancakes and a couple of other dishes and every single plate was delicious! It was a special occasion and Anna was a fantastic host and waitress, delicious food, great quality, lovely ambience. Thank you so much

With a young family we decided to try Chez Bob to escape the usual raft of chain restraunts. Food ok, kids ate well, service so so. One hour after getting home stomach cramps, boating, significant retro-sternal pain followed by ongoing diarrhoea and vomiting all night. White bait, Alpine Burger, and sticky toffee pudding. Reported to relevant authorities. Never again.

We’ve been to this and their other branches. A good wide menu with something on it for all. The food was good and well cooked. The wine list has also something for all. Good service helpful servers with a smile and attentive.

The menu is great as it has something for everyone. My wife is vegetarian. Son pescatarian and I’ll eat anything . It’s all at at a good price with friendly helpful service. What more could you want?

Visité este restaurante hace unas semanas con mi hija y me lo recomendó el hotel local. Era una noche fría, pero el restaurante era cálido y acogedor, con buena iluminación y cómodos asientos. El personal es bueno y atento. Sin embargo, la comida fue decepcionante. Tenía un plato de pato para Agra, que era una delgada porción miserable directamente de una lata. Nada hecho en casa, podría haberlo comprado en mi supermercado local. Tuve una botella de Camden ale - supuestamente una cerveza local, y fue excelente. Mi hija disfrutó de un vino blanco.

Ate here for breakfast and it was superb. Food was cooked freshly and was great quality. Everything was well presented and tasty. Service was excellent. Lovely decor and music. Great value for money. Would recommend.

We just wanted not too large or fancy a meal and this fitted the bill. Hubby had fried whitebait and I had goats cheese salad for starters and then we both chose the chicken which had a sauce and came with salad and fries. We just had tap water to drink. Service charge of 12.5% ( £2.74) was automatically added to bill which brought the total to just over £24. The service was good and the staff attentive.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I've been here several times and the food and service is fantastic. I had the festive menu - 2 course £19.95 or 3 courses £21.95, such great value. I had 3 courses, starter spiced parsnip soup, main course salmon and desert lemon cheesecake. The food was delicious and so flavoursome. The staff are brilliant, 1st class service without being intrusive. I would highly recommend it. You must try this restaurant, if you've not been before you will definitely be a regular visitor.

I ordered the Kerala curry over lunch. It was quite average with overfried tofu, overcooked brown rice and grated coconut pieces that were to hard to chew. The waiter was very attentive and cheerful though.

Stopped off here with some friends ahead of an afternoon walk on Hampstead Heath, which is only about a ten minute walk away. They offered for us to sit at the bar while we waited for a table, which only took a few minutes but it was nice to have the option to sit down. There was a reasonably wide choice of option on the menu, including for my wife who is vegetarian, with some particularly good steak and salad choices. Our mains were good, the crumble dessert was excellent. At one point, I rather clumsily spilled my coffee over the table - the waiter couldn't have been more helpful, coming over to clean it up and replacing my drink for free. Overall, very pleased and would happily return.

My son (4) loves this place, the kids chicken schnitzel and chips as an occasional after school treat.

Pleasantly situated near Belsize Park tube, enjoyed a pleasant brunch. I had fresh pancakes with berry compote which was delicious along with a coffee....will try again when next in the area

Beautiful place. We had great time with my sister. Very nice, chatty waiter helped us with menu, suggests few options. We got edamame with sweet and spicy soy mirin sauce for start - amazing! Than we got miso soul bowl with rice noodles and teriyaki salmon steak. Everything was fresh, generous portions and delicious. We’re coming back on our next visit to London.

Excellent service!! Great food and drinks :) Prices are not too high. We were really nice suprised :)
