Goulding's in South Lanarkshire

Our very favourite place to pop in for a treat and a coffee. Staff are wonderful and the cakes are to die for! Our week would not be the same if we didn’t visit!

Arrived at 11.30 for lunch and to beat the rush and we did…. Just. within a few minutes there were no tables left. Macaroni was way overcooked and mushy, The peas however were vile. Dark green and slimy. Totally inedible. You need to guess what the cakes are as the very grumpy server was not willing to elaborate. When I asked what they were ‘buttercream’ was her very snappy response. They really should be labelled. To be fair though apart from our server everyone else was super friendly and the restaurant was spotless.

Nice home baking with a great selection. Bakewell tart was absolutely delicious and scones with cream were tasty. Coffee was lukewarm though and quite small. Clearly very busy and lots of throughput of guests. Staff should really make it clear to guests that it is counter service rather than table service. We saw two tables who hadn’t been aware of this and were getting frustrated at being ignored.

Had a family day out to the farm park next door and had lunch in here. Really good selection of food, freshly prepared & reasonable prices. Defo recommended

Good food and service in nice location - But why do they put so much on a small plate. I don’t want a bigger plate I just want less on the small plate so the food doesn’t spill on to the table. Are they just trying to justify the price by making it look like you’re getting more!

Very busy. We'll organised getting people to tables but table cleaners wiped food spilled on table onto floor. Food came quickly. Mac n cheese. Very stodgy, tasted /looked like wallpaper paste. Pasta well overcooked. Years ago it was served in a dish with lots of sauce. Not now. I was embarrassed having family with me. We didn't stay for cake. If they can't get the main course right, they don't get my money for a sweet. The deluxe hot chocolate was amazing. At over £4 I'm glad. Had a walk round after lunch and was shocked at the prices. Very expensive!

You are very likely to be met by a sizeable queue when you arrive at this restaurant but it is very efficiently managed and well worth the wait. There’s a very extensive menu offering anything from a scone to a large meal. The range of cakes is all but irresistibly tempting - you have been warned.

I really enjoyed my time at valley view and I would highly recommend it. The little boy at the car park working was really nice so I left him a tip

Went for lunch with my wife, the food was lovely, good choice and very well cooked and restuarant was very nice and clean, excellent service.

We went here for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was busy but the service was excellent and we soon had our lovely lunches. Menu had plenty to choose from. Prices were very reasonable. Well worth the visit.

Excellent coffee shop/restaurant. Good quality home made food and exquisite home baking. Always a huge selection of cakes and scones. Could maybe do with a little barista training, can be quite painful slow watching a cappuccino being made. Only Criticism would be the coffee cups are way too small.

My family and I have been going to Goulding’s for many years at least once a week. We all agree the food and service are exceptional.

I’m a regular visitor here. Absolutely love the salads! They are amazing. The soup is also great and toastier etc also very tasty. The food is slightly pricy but when the food is good you don’t mind paying. Always very hard working staff working to promptly get you a table.

Just loving the home made cooking and baking with plenty of items sampled from the delicious soups, cakes and trifle.

Goulding’s is an excellent Garden Centre. The greenhouse and shop areas are well laid out and fully stocked with a wide variety of goods from plants to food to furniture to jewellery. The cafe is a lovely place for lunch or morning// afternoon tea. They do toasties, soup, chips, sandwiches, cakes etc, the staff are helpful and keep the place clean and tidy. The only drawback is there are folk queuing waiting for a table at peak times which made us feel we had to vacate our table more quickly than we would have liked, no sitting chatting over another cup of tea.

Restaurant is large and was busy. Found a table no problem. Staff were plentiful and restaurant was clean and well organised. Food was good, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Nice inexpensive lunch, with a huge selection. Very nice altogether

We go here often as it is a very popular eating place and garden centre with a lovely shop attached. There is a great selection of food and the homemade cakes are to die for. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Worth a visit

Great meals, lovely setting recently refurbished. Freshly made fare. Terrific for lunches and afternoon teas.

It’s very busy but staff work hard to get you a table quickly and food is served promptly. Food was all very nice and we finished off with coffee and cake. So many delicious cakes to choose from. It was my grans birthday and staff all came out and sang happy birthday - she was delighted! Definitely worth a visit. Nice farm shop and gifts to buy including unique furniture.

I am a regular attendee of Goulding’s and can honestly say that the restaurant is absolutely excellent. The food is beautiful with well sized portions and is great value for money. The staff are friendly and can’t do enough to help you and the atmosphere and surroundings are perfect! Would recommend this place to anyone!

Having read the reviews and being particular difficult person to be pleased I can honestly say with hand on heart what a fabulous experience. Well done to all staff and owner for their dedication and determination to please customers. A true delight and gem.

Took 4 children of various ages and had the best time at the winter wonderland. It was fantastic. Well worth a visit. Lots to do and see. We will be returning next year.

This was one of the best visits to the Christmas wonderland we have being coming for the last 4 years with my nephew .from walking in the door we were made welcome and the fact that we were told we had a one hour wait did not put us off we were in a queue for 30mins and during that time there was staff saying hello and speaking to kids .All the staff were amazing but a special thank you to gordon who was working at photo booth and yes and mince pies stall and then a on one of the kids stalls everywhere there was a big queue he jumped in to help great customer service and our sant a and tractor driver was fantastic too never got name but young blond girl was nicest and pleasant tractor driver every so finally big big thank you to all the goulding family and staff your on in a million and make families and kids very happy.

Used to be a regular customer. Lately have been eating at another garden centre situated nearby however today decided to try Gouldings for a change.

Excellent choice of snacks, all day breakfasts,main meals desserts and cakes. I have never been disappointed in any meal chosen, home made soups lovely, cakes home made and delicious and all mains including salads first class

Delicious food with home made baking. Generous portions and good value for money. Although often there is a queue to get into the restaurant area, it doesn’t take too long and well worth the wait.

Lovely big centre ,plenty parking, good range of plants/ garden accessories. Nice looking restaurant, though we did not drop in today. As well as garden goods a nice selection of other products in store..

Have eaten here off and on for years and have always found the food to be good, not great, but more than just acceptable. However, last week my opinion was turned on its head after having a two course lunch with my wife

Still a popular garden centre with busy cafe, good food, friendly efficient staff service was excellent. Always love looking around this place.

Our breakfast was delightful. Served swiftly and efficiently. Food and drinks brought to table. Piping hot and very tasty. Cured our hangovers! Lol friendly staff. Just what we needed to go a nice walk and burn it all off! Many thanks.

Breakfast was really greasy and the coffee tasted like warm milk. I know some people like greasy food but it’s not for me.

Called in for a coffee and filled roll, staff were nice and chatty and service was quick, food I’m afraid was disappointing, I had a roll with potato scone and scrambled egg, my wife had a bacon roll, my potato scone was very greasy you could have squeezed a cup of oil out of it and the egg was tasteless, my wife’s roll had one piece of bacon on it, yep one piece, it looked very lonely! These two rolls and a cappuccino and a tea was nearly £12, way overpriced, don’t think I will be back.

My friend and I had a fab lunch in the cafe last Friday. I had a really gorgeous mac’n’cheese and my friend opted for the lasagne. We finished with meringue (see pic) and a latte. Great afternoon and the cakes are to die for.

The cafe is fantastic lovely views, home made soup. The cakes are wow wow wow would happily eat every single one. The garden centre itself well I find it boring there’s nothing exciting that wow’s me when I come in here it needs a re vamp.

Popped in here this morning with my wife for coffee and a cake, the place was quiet, however despite same being served took around 10 minutes, there appeared to be only 2 members of staff serving customers, one plating hot food, and the other jumping between making drinks and receiving payments and the til, which led to a que forming very quickly. Staff were friendly and doing their best, however they should never have been in a position where they were having to do several jobs whilst other customers were waiting.

Ate here for lunch and enjoyed it thoroughly. Great fish and chips and the home made mince pie was very good indeed. Good service and a good Garden Centre too. Would recommend.

I have reviewed Goulding's previously and it was good however, if anything it has got better. We arrived at a good time and were seated straight away, the restaurant was busy but no queue at the door. The service was extremely quick and my breaded haddock was perfect and my partners cold chicken salad was enough for two and superb quality. Also I must mention I had a large mug of rich coffee for under £2 JOY.

This is one of the best garden centres I have visited. The food and cakes are excellent. There is a wide range of goods for sale. The garden selection is one of the best many varieties of plants and garden furniture

Visited the restaurant many times never dissappointing food is great and good plateful,staff are always polite and hardworking as this restaurant can be very busy sometimes we had to queue but not for long,would rather it was table service as you have to queue again to place order

Plenty garden centres to choose from in Clydeside but this has a really great selection compared to the others. As well as offering cooked breakfasts, omelettes, filled rolls they also have toasted soda scones with bacon, egg or sausage which are supplied by a local bakery and are divine. Also have lovely home made soup, sandwiches, toasties. and an array of hot meals such as steak pie, chicken Maryland for example. A good selection of cakes including delicious fruit loaf as well as ice cream sundaes so something for everyone. Can order gluten free sandwiches too!

Each time we've visited Goulding restaurant area, there's always a queue. Here's why. There is somewhere to sit whilst you're waiting for a table, and you usually get seated fairly quickly. There is an extensive menu, something for everyone, food hot and fresh, delicious cakes to choose from, clean, airy eating area, pleasant staff. Says it all really. When you've had your meal there is the gift shop also selling furniture, lighting, artwork, toys, baby clothes and a food section. Further along there is the garden centre. You could easily spend a couple of hours between having a meal and then browsing the shop.

Excellent coffee shop / restaurant. A wide range of quality food with lots to choose from on their extensive menu. From snacks like toasties, paninis and sandwiches to larger lunches like breakfasts and full meals. Lovely homemade soups but remember to leave room for the large range of delicious, homemade cakes. Very popular and gets very busy around 12.00 and weekends - you frequently need to queue for a table at these times

Called in at midweek lunchtime and the place was packed which shows how popular this is. Nice menu with pleasant service. We had toasted panini which was very tasty.

Visited for breakfast & some xmas shopping. Food brekkie frezhlyade, staff really friendly & the best restaurant in Rosebank & sorrounding area. Loyalty card for a free coffee or tea always a bonus.

Was disappointed in the whole santa thing went mid week still very pricey and santa rushed the kids you could pick your toy but only a teddy was suitable for a 2yr old girl

Goulding's is a well-run family business. Apart from its extensive gift & jewellery displays, they also have a very accommodating cafe. My wife and I often drop in for lunch to enjoy their home-cooked menus - which can be take you from the soup 'n rolls 9as we had), through fish 'n chips, a steak pie or lasagne (for example) and on to the magnificent selection of cakes and pastries. (I believe we mentioned the lemon cheesecake once before. Toady, we were served by Linda - who took care to walk us through the choices on offer.
