Ordered food at 12.30 no food at gone 1 ..chef ,/ proprietor came out 1.25 wafting till receipts saying his order till had not gone through to kitchen. Through out his time no apology for wait ..he rudely said food was ready 1 hour + later but he'd rather give us a refund than give us food and compensate for their mistake . We left without a meal ,fine mistakes happen but not spotting their only customers haven't been served and then being rude and abrupt won't get the place back on its feet . We are locals and could generate quite a bit of all year round business but will not go there again

Went today with family. Bit apprehensive at first as was expecting sailing club type posh place. Turned out to be very nice. Staff behind the bar extremely friendly. Kids made very welcome. Food was great. Kids loved the chicken nuggets and chips. Partner said best fish and chips she’s had in a long time. I had the squid which was great. My mussels were a bit dry. Maybe it’s the wrong time of year. Passed it on to the chef, just in case. My family thought I was fussy. Maybe I was. The sauce that came with it was very tasty. Would definitely come again if in the area. Especially, if the weather permitted sitting outside to admire the sea views. Well done! Thank you to the staff for being so lovely. H

Since I last wrote a review for this place it seems to have changed management. It is hard to get a full picture given Covid restrictions as I think they are running a restricted menu but if you’re after a pint and a sandwich or jacket it’s great. They also have a couple of options for the kids (though the kids pizza isn’t up to much). Service is much better and the location is fantastic. I’ll be going more often.

I’ve been to Plas Heli many times since it opened. The venue is beautiful, the views are amazing and the food is good but what a shame about the service. Every time I’ve been the service has been chaotic. You have to attract someone’s attention to get served at the food till or bar and many of the kids who they have working there say they can’t serve you. The more experienced staff often just walk past ignoring me. I should say this seems better when one particular male manager is on. I have persevered because I like the venue but today left me apoplectic. I arrived for a late lunch with my two kids. I know service stops at three so I queued up to order food at 2:40. While I was waiting the staff decided the ice cream all needed to be changed in the display cabinet. They therefore devoted all of their attention to that and no one served the queue. When I finally got to the front I asked for three sandwiches and was told that the kitchen closed at three so I could not have them. I complained, pointing out that I had been queuing for over twenty minutes and that it was not yet five past three. I was met with blank refusal. Why is the service so poor and if it is going to be that poor at least serve the poor sods who have been waiting over twenty minutes just to place an order. I’d like to say I won’t be back but I probably will given the location. Please sort it out.

One of the best places I’ve been for a while, especially around the area. Comfortably seating outdoors and a warm welcome from the hostess. Went for the lunch specials (hot pot and jerk chicken) they were outstanding. The thought and amount of ingredients that went into each dish was fantastic. Perfect flavours and HUGE portions. We were kindly offered a takeaway tub as we couldn’t finish it. We will be back almost every time we are back in the area (which is every fortnight or so). Soon to be ‘regulars’

I dropped by on a recent visit to Wales. The food was wonderful and the staff were great. I went in on the Sunday Carvery, which was excellent. As I was in Wales, I noticed the bilingual staff were alternating between the local tongue which is Welsh and English. This is no different to service establishments I have been to in Germany, Italy, Spain etc etc. If you go to Wales, bear in mind you aren’t in England. Only a small minded bigoted racist moron would have a problem with people speaking their own language in their own country. The restaurant is quite pleasant and I wish them well in the future and I will return. Bryan, Glasgow/ Caer Clut.

I have visited the restaurant many times & think the food is fresh & home cooked. The staff are very attentive, they speak English when spoken to in English & Welsh when spoken to in Welsh. This part of Wales is predominately Welsh speaking to naturally some staff speak Welsh to each other. However, the customer from Baisingstoke does make a fair comment regarding how ‘annoying’ it is to hear them speak Welsh; can I suggest that the management there insist that something be pinned on the uniforms of those who continue to speak the language a simple Star of David in yellow cut of rough fabric would suffice or even a piece of wood with W.N etched into it hung by a string around the offenders neck!

We have to attend sailing events at Plas Heli and despite pleading to out national body ended up in here again. This restaurant is attached to the sailing facility and is run as commercial venture with no regard to sailors needs. It is my third visit and has got worse. Service is slow beyond belief, choice on a Sunday poor. The staff are nice individually but when talking to each other about you order talk in Welsh which is just rude. At the end of the day the same staff sat around and chatted freely among them selves in English. Luckily I will never have to visit awful Pwllheli again. This is the second time i have felt inclined to write a review on this place, we revisited today for Sunday carvery. The atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly whilst eating i overheard the waitress reassuring a young mother that the children were fine playing and they weren't in the way. The mother seemed so grateful and said to me afterwards that its the only place she feels able to eat out at the minute, due to the welcome they get as a family. Went for lunch at around 1pm on Friday lunchtime. The place was like a morgue - cold and deathly quiet. Not only were there no signs of other customers, there was also no one behind the bar either. We could hear someone in the kitchen, so we waited...and waited...and waited. Eventually I put my head round the corner and politely asked a lady in the kitchen if we could order some drinks. I was told in a very abrupt manner that she would be two minutes - no greeting, no apology, just a bad attitude. So I went back to the bar and we waited...and waited...and waited. The woman eventually appeared and I thought great, at least now we can order a drink - but no, I was told that she’d be a couple of minutes! Well, sorry, but I was told that two minutes ago! We left and went to Weatherspoons - great atmosphere, good beer and food, friendly and efficient service. Plas Heli is a total joke and deserves to fail.

My friend and I, visited for a roast lunch, as we have done previously, when visiting Wales. The food was delicious and we could not fault it. However, the service was extremely poor. We ordered drinks first, which arrived half way through our meal. On finishing our meal, no one came to clear the plates away from the table. The carvery chef, (Steve) kindly removed them for us. He then had to ask someone to come over to take our dessert order, as no one had bothered to come to our table. The place was not that busy really, at the time we were eating. (FOUR people were stood behind the till, chatting away, looking at their phones, whilst tables were being neglected). A grumpy young girl then came over to take our dessert order and didn't even know what desserts were available! (Choice of 4). My friend and I then went to pay our bill, over at the till, as again, no one bothered to come over to the table. The young girl on the till, said she didn't know what we had eaten etc., as nothing had been written down!! All in all, a very poor quality of service, which spoilt a delicious meal.

Went inside to find a huge bar area with plenty of staff seemingly practising for a forthcoming event. Two bar staff serving one customer before me. Dumb and Dumber couldn't get either of the two tills to work, by the time they'd figured it out two groups of obviously familiar faces came in. Now I'm not a small guy by any means but I suddenly became invisible, I was bypassed so these regulars could be served once they'd finished chatting with D and D. They obviously don't need my money so disgusted I walked out. Not like me, usually a patient kind of person but this really wound me up!

Visited with family prior to going down to the beach. We sat in the lovely grassy area near the bar which was ideal on such a beautiful day.We ordered our food and drinks at the bar and were served promptly and politely. This system worked for us as it was'nt too busy. However for those unfamiliar with the venue i think this could cause problems when it gets busy with a wait to be served and a bottleneck of people on the approach to the bar.

Was down for the GP14 sailing week at the end of August and whilst we didnt eat, we went for drinks on a number of occasions. One elderly male bar man was just a complete miserable old so and so! The other bar staff were polite and helpful but seriously under staffed. Getting drinks took for ever.

Visited here with the family for early tea after a day on the beach. The service was awful from the outset. No welcome on arrival, not even a smile from the lady who was front of house. Our food order was taken efficiently and brought to the table in good time but without any eye contact or smiles. Each of our kids thanked the lady when their plate was put down in front of them but nothing from the waitresses. The food was good and the portions decent. However, when I asked the waitress for the nan bread which was supposed to accompany my curry she asked "do you really want it?". The whole experience was like a comedy sketch, which is a real shame as the food was good and the location great. It upsets me more as I'm a returning local who knows how welcoming, funny & helpful the locals are usually. Siom mawr :-(

We have a static 15 minutes away so visit Pwllheli regularly. Decided to have breakfast where we park. Waited in line as one of staff very slow and ordered full breakfast only to be told that due to an event could only offer a bacon gap, sausagebap or egg bap! Why couldn't they just cook all three and put on a plate! No mention on the door menus that they can't cope when they have an event on. PS we went at 10 am and the event was scheduled for the afternoon. Another example of bad customer service and inability to deliver, sadly finding that this is a common theme in parts of Wales, shame.

A welcome addition beside a lovely quiet beach. We visited it previously but this time we ate hear a few times....the kids loved it and we were also able to bring the dog. Plenty of space inside and outside. Reasonable range of food very much at reasonable prices including child portions. A range of alcohol, wines prosecco, lagers and ales on draft, soft drinks and hot drinks plus the kids loved the ice cream freezer. The Sunday carvery was also nice and value for money. If I had any criticisms they would be very minor the specials have been the same no matter when we have been there and sometimes the tables can remain uncleared for a while after customers leave (that said the staff are always busy). Highly recommended and definitely value for money.

After a lovely day touring the various delightful places on the Llyn Peninsula, we came upon Plas Heli. We had no idea what it was or did, a quick look round the foyer explained everything to us. It's an amazing building with an equally amazing view. We decided to give the restaurant a go which is situated on the first floor with the fabulous view. On entering the restaurant we stood by the cash point/reception and we were completely ignored by the passing staff, so we seated ourselves at a table. The restaurant was not busy with four other tables occupied. We waited and waited, firstly to be acknowledged, then to be offered a drink and maybe a menu. Absolutely nothing!!!

Great little beach and made better by the addition of the bar/restaurant. Free parking, dogs allowed and free wifi made it a regular 'pop in' venue whilst holidaying near Pwllheli. So impressed by the staff and good value of money if food for a family. Visited the Carvey (booked in advance) and was pleased with the meal and service. Been to many places in and around Pwllheli and have to say it's good honest food at a very reasonable cost, with the added bonus of good views. Frequent visited to the area from London and will continue to visit Plas Heli.

What a fabulous spot. Called in for a drink on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Service and prices OK. Went outside and sat down - view almost totally obscured by railing. Moved to a different area but even worse - a solid wall blocked the view! Went to upper deck - a little better but we could not understand how the design could have been passed. What a missed opportunity. Also fairly quiet but rest of town very busy. Need to get their act together to attract people

We visited as a family team for what was billed as a Curry & Quiz night, This must be the worst curry I have ever had, it was chicken curry, I think they must have just waved the curry tin over it could not taste any curry it looked like chicken in a tomato sauce, the rice had been cooked to long & was wet & cold so returned it and believe it or not it was re-heated in a microwave came back hot but reheating had driven the water out of the rice, after finishing the meal because we were hungry having foregone our evening meal the plate was covered in water, If it had not been for such a good cause would have left & asked for my money back.

Brand new complex, part of the local sailing club, glad to see it's open to the public but it is huge and who paid for it ? The central atrium is very large and not sure what sort of events will be staged here - outdoor seated area for drinks , snacks and meals is good but some of it has it's sea view obscured but all in all a good addition to local tourism.

There is times of the day where there's no alternative for having a coffee in town. We went here twice during our visit of Caernarfon. I did not take a coffee at the second visit as I didn't like it. It is less clean inside and everything seems a little loveless. The sweet cakes etc. are great though. At least, the products are rather inexpensive.

We made the mistake of going back to this pub having visited several times over the years, it was completely dead and the bar lady had a serious attitude problem, when two other guests arrived the bar woman was now siting in the corner and i pointed her out simple saying the bar woman was over there - she completely turned on me obviously annoyed i’d called her a bar woman ( she clearly wasn’t a solicitor) which also resulted in her partner becoming extremely aggressive and was expecting a physical assault to be taking place, luckily i managed to de escalate the situation which if full of locals would’ve only been worse. The woman clearly has mental health problems and probably a drug user and shouldn’t be working in an environment selling alcohol.

Alana is a scam artist. Sends damaged squashed and disgusting cakes and then refuses to refund, would not order again from these people

We were looking for somewhere downtown harlech for a drink and food with our two boys, 9 and 14 years of age. We read the sign outside. Everyone welcome except for children. Dogs especially welcome. Adults only. A few of the local guys told me it's a swingers hotel where the dogs can get involved. Avoid. If you do want a good pint with holiday makers and locals all enjoying good food and drink and friendly conversation I would highly recommend walking an extra 200yds to the pub right next to the train station. Dogs, kids, humans all seem to be equally welcome

We popped in without a booking but were happy to have our meal in the bar area. The service was good, prices reasonable and we both had the fish and chips which was excellent. We were staying nearby and would definitely return if we are in the area again.A beautiful location next to the sea.
