Ordered drinks and breakfast rolls, my hot chocolate was nearly cold and more like warm milk, the coffee was just about ok but the bacon roll was served on a brioche bun and the sausage was burnt and very salty. The soup was lovely but everything else was below standard and definitely not worth the money, we will not be returning

Oh what has happened here? Stopped here on my way through for a quick lunch, a regular stop. Only the quick ended up in a long wait despite being only the second table, the rest of the cafe was empty. By the time my toastie arrived my coffee was cold. A cheese and ham Toastie, but in sweet brioche bread? with salad and crisps. The salad was just limp lettuce in a dressing,no other vegetable at all? The toastie was cold in the middle, the cheese not melted and the ham tasted sweeter than the bread, it didn’t mention it was honey roasted or anything? I didn’t have time to complain and wait ages for a replacement so half ate the sweet sandwich and left. Where have the friendly staff gone that used to serve us?

We got completely ignored when we went in. Very quiet so no excuse for being too busy. Had to order at the counter as nobody came to take our order ( looks like table service ). Unpleasant non talkative girl who then came over with the drinks and spilt tea when putting pot on the table. Think she could benefit from some training in customer service skills. Food was average.

We called in to Gordon’s after an average experience at another Braemar establishment the previous morning. The only negative was the 10am opening time, only because we arrived about 10 mins beforehand and were particularly hungry. We all had a brioche breakfast bun and all agreed that these were delicious. Friendly service too from the staff in a lovely environment. A very enjoyable experience that I would thoroughly recommend

Stopped in here for brunch, remember visiting here years ago when I was a kid and it was very old fashioned. New owners now and it’s certainly a more attractive option considering we usually go to the bothy.Decor very nice and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Both had a latte which was slightly cold however, breakfast rolls were delicious, sausage and egg in one and bacon and egg in the other. Everything cooked to perfection, brioche buns made it even better. Slightly expensive at £4.50 a roll plus 75p per extra item. Would return though.

We were a party of 9 popped in here for lunch with Australian relatives and lucky to be able to use the big table in the middle and we could all sit together. Very welcoming on our arrival. Waitress was very friendly and efficient and able to note down all our choices and requests with helpful advice. Our food selection was delicious from the spicy sweet potato soup with cheese scone to the pizzas and filled rolls with bacon/sausage/egg/ black pudding and bowls of chips for us all to share! Teas and coffees came in separate pots for each individual. Everything was as it should be, very tasty and we all commented on how efficient chef and staff were forgetting nothing and very orderly. We will be back. Our lunch was the ‘icing on the cake’ for our Braemar visit and we wish you great success with your business. Thank you!

Arrived in Braemar on a chilly & frosty November afternoon, discovered the Gordon's Tearoom and as it looked rather inviting, we stepped in. What a lovely warm welcome, we disturbed the staff putting up the Christmas decorations, (apologies for that). When we went in, we could smell the Cullen Skink, so we couldn't resist, one with a cheese scone and the other with sourdough bread, delicious. I laughed when I found out that the lovely staff member who served us was from Australia, to leave the warmth of Oz to come and live and work in what has been recorded as the coldest place in Scotland. But you can understand it with the beautiful setting. Would highly recommend a wee visit if you are up that way.

Fish and chips were good yet not unlike any other place we’d had fish and chips, but the Brie, bacon and cranberry panini was exceptional. The chippy is just up the road from us but we probably only pop in to get chips once a month to go with a meal we are making. The chips are always good these days, as is the service and the staff are really helpful. On more than one occasion I’ve seen them going above and beyond to help out a member of the public. Also really pleased to see the phasing-out of polystyrene trays and plastic bags in favour of paper and cardboard over the last few years. Fish could always be bigger but you could say that about any chippy these days and the last few fish I’ve had have been really good. Highly recommended.

We were there during the Haal festival and the restaurant was very efficiently run and the food was great.

Good things : This cafe is in a great location and offers plenty of seating outside which is ideal for those with dogs. Not so good things : The coffee was ok although pricey for the size of cup. Cakes were nice enough, but had too much buttercream icing. Bad things : The layout of the tables inside is a bit congested. The volume and choice of music appears to be for the benefit of the staff because we, and those around us at other tables, to raise our voices to have a conversation.

Disappointed with the cappuccino which was weak milky coffee which I did not finish. Lovely lady who served and made my cappuccino but she was no barista. Been here many times before but this is definitely my last cappuccino.

Been here twice on our break to Deeside. Staff really friendly and helpful. We had coffee and tea on our first visit with a slice of cracknel. Tea, Toasties and cracknel! (again) again on our second visit. Although we only had snacks which were very reasonably priced the food being delivered to other tables looked first class.
