Great spot for casual night out or drinks before jukebox in the local area. Great music and weekly quiz to keep things interesting.

Awful service, have visited numerous times over the years, but bar staff now just act as if you don't exist and make out they are busy topping up ice buckets and cleaning glasses! Plenty of other options in the area.

I came here this evening and was pleasantly surprised at how great the staff were at this pub! Jade was great with recommending us with drinks and catering to us all night. The drinks and atmosphere were amazing. I will definitely be visiting again soon!

I came here the other night with my friend and we had an amazing time. Drinks were great and the staff were amazing. Service was very quick, even though the bar was fairly busy, and the staff were very polite. We were served by Jade, who clearly has great customer service skills and was very pleasant. We will definitely be coming back again! Thank you for a lovely night!

The service in this bar is shockingly slow, I was there only a few days ago and there was five people at the bar and still waited 15 to 20 minutes to get served

We have been here before and it has been ok but when we went today it was very busy but they had one member of staff behind the bar serving! There were lots of people waiting and complaining about this. They do food here which looked good. In the end we walked out as the queue was just not going down! They serve cocktails so making these does take time, so they need more people serving!

We came in for the first time and were greeted by a lovely lady named Kiki in an absolutely jubilant and warm manner, made us feel right at home and the service we recieved for the 3 hours we were there was just amazing 👏 I would definitely recommend to a friend and I'll 💯 be coming back 😃 Thanks again Kiki, Absolute star 🌟

Great beer garden. Tent up jn the winter and a lovely atmosphere in the summer. It's my go to spot with friends and family. Jess G has been working there for a number of years and she is a great bartender. Will recommend for a great place to drink, morning or evening.

Why have you got rid of the one light beer you had and replaced it with two premium beers?? All your draft options are heavy beers like fosters, or premium beers like the new Heineken and Morreti.. They send this email out about kids eat free at Easter, then refuse to let kids in!! Tell me the sense in this. My friend was refused entry with her daughter 2days after receiving the attached email of kids eat free!?? The first bar person called mason didn’t know if kids were allowed / then another said no even tho I showed them this email, double standards / mixed messages

usually good, the security are questionable at their jobs but the bartenders and inside staff are lovely, if you manage to be allowed in

I go to The Goose from time to time and have been for a number of years now. What I don't really care for are all the events that they have more or less every day going on. I'm sure it is to try and draw in more customers than they do. But having observed the way they do things for a while now, it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm not sure what problems the other reviewers have with the door security, but they have always been fine and personable to me. Their job is to maintain harmony within the pub, so of course they are going to refuse people entry that they don't like the look of. The law is that they also do NOT have to give you a reason for doing so. Drink prices are fair considering the fact that everything is going up in price right now. And I would much rather pay extra to mix with better clientele than the twits that you see down at cheap pubs like The Moon and Stars which is just down the road from it. The beer garden is fantastic and the best in Romford! Of course, it is only really useable during the Summer although they do have heaters in an attempt to keep you warm. They only really do a an average job of doing so, but they are what they are. The problem of not having enough bar staff on when it is busy is a frequent problem as is staff looking at their phones a lot. In fact, one particular male staff member told my mate to wait while he finished doing whatever he was doing on his phone just a few days ago! The manager should really have a no phones while you're working policy enforced! And don't think you are going to get a smile from any of the staff, either. When you order food then it's fair to say that you should expect them to say that something is out of stock. It happens to me a lot. Be careful if you pay by card or on their app because it will take over a week to get a refund! Overall, though, The Goose is still worth going to even if it's not as good as it used to be when it was more of a low key pub in terms of atmosphere and the amount of events they had going on. But nothing is perfect.

Came in a Sunday evening around 6 o'clock. Had to wait at the bar for 10mins even though there was no one else at the bar and enough bar staff working. I then got served and without being horrible the bar staff a young women had the worst attitude felt like she was doing me a favour and also didn't know what drinks I was ordering I had to go get menu of the table to show her. I come in here often as it's near the station and cheap drinks. I hate to moan as I run a pub myself and I would never accept my bar staff having the attitudes which are currently working here. Its the not the first time I have had this service here. Pubs gone down hill.

Always slow service. All I see is people on there phone. In the back dish wash area and only 1 person or 2 serving a full bar. This is all the time !!!

We have visited a total of 5 times in the past 2 months. The last day I asked for a Gin and tonic and the girl told me they don't do gin and couldn't understand what tonic was. I explained a Gordon's Gin double up. The first measure was full from the optic but she didn't allow the full measure for the second! She kept looking at her extremely long nails and did not speak at all or acknowledge a Thank You. We ate also another day. Food was fine but I ordered profiteroles which arrived 25 minutes later after I had enquired and they were still frozen. 1 girl working thee continued loading the fridge while a queue built up at the counter and the other staff member kept leaving the bar. I had waited so long that a man the bar gave me his place to be served and he just laughed. Forgive my description but there was one girl with long hair and a blue stripe who struggled to try and keep everything going basically with no help from the other staff members. We sat near the window and there were layers of dust everywhere. As I said we returned a total of 5 times and nothing seemed to have changed. It feels like the staff do not want to be there.I worked myself in the service sector so am aware of my surroundings and level of service.I may visit again and hopefully it will be a better experience. If it is I will write a review to the same.
