I remember when they first opened before having a delivery driver. The service has always been good & the staff friendly. Best local Chinese.

Disappointed with the food and the price , the person who took the order agreed with my views , which made it all the more frustrating it used to be one of the best . But deffinatley now one of the worst !

I placed a review on here about a month ago but it has been taken down. I ordered off the internet to find that the prices shown were not correct. I paid by phone but when it came it was several pounds more. I complained but they told me I should have gone into the shop to order. The food was not good as they have apparently changed hands and that is why the prices on the internet is wrong.

A Chinese takeaway please close to where I live. The service is very quick from you giving your order to them doing it and handing it over. Never had a problem. Tasty and nice food

Very disappointed with the king prawns in garlic. Too much near enough raw water chestnut, only a few king prawns,some mushrooms a bit of carrot and a bit of onion in it. I won't be wasting another trip there...

Not good. First time trying it out. Charged £1 to make a curry extra chilli and it was bland as anything. Chips half burnt. Salt and pepper chips dry. Won't return

Usually the service and food is amazing tonight well... The women on the phone/front desk is very rude! Blunt on the phone unlike the other two ladies that do the same job! When arrived tonight there was a few people looking at the menu not ready to order then myself then a man behind me the rude women then serves the man behind me takes his money and collects his food even after he had stated i was first she then ignored me again and goes on to serve the people that were looking at the menu i then say sorry but im here to pay and collect and very bluntly i was told ' i am serving' so i walk out 30minutes later i get a call asking where i am i state that she was rude so i walk out and explain why i walked away. I then got shouted out down the phone by her! Good food gamston sort your staff and get rid of her the older lady and the lady that is always very bright are much better than the one you had tonight just plain rudeness! Untill shes gone you wont be getting custom from myself again after many many years. 15/4/23

Been ordering from here purely for the battered salt and pepper chips which were amazing even though it's more expensive than my local Chinese. Unfortunately I was told today that they don't do them anymore because it's too time consuming and they only do without batter. Tried these once before and they were awful. Real shame. I bid you farewell good food gamston.

Not been here for a couple of years but got a take out for a Saturday night treat. Ordered by phone (king prawn in black bean sauce, pork chow mein, sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice). Was ready for when I arrived to collect, polite and friendly service and the quality of the food was fantastic. All dishes were perfect.

Ordered take out told it would be 50mins or 80mins it was 2hrs 15mins before it arrived the starters were luke warm prawn toast over done ribs no meat on them only on very small cartoon of sweet sour sauce for 3 persons the egg fried rice was well overcooked very brown and dry chicken Cantonese sauce very thick .sorry but they've lost my custom after this it was awful after costing £40 plus

Eaten here for years and tonight I was extremely disappointed. Really expensive. Food was bland, tasteless and chewy and really vinegary.

We have moved to this Chinese recently and have been impressed with the service and food but tonight was an exception as the food was amazing.

Ordered on a friday eve during their busiest time and the order didn't take long at all despite them being swamped. The food is always delicious, piping hot, generous portions at great prices. Excellent service, the lady at the till is brilliant, would definitely recommend

We are a regular user of the good food at Gamston the food varies a lot from excellent to good to medium but what lets them down is there a delivery service who obviously doesn’t know how to close gates or give change

Absolutely love their mushroom chow mein and yung chow fried rice. The praw crackers you get free when spending so much are shocking though :)

We have takeaways from here most weeks - the food is generally very good as are the portions - the Singapore vermicelli is the best we’ve ever had from anywhere - our experience is that the curries are best avoided as we haven’t found any that are very nice - we think that they should try some different curry recipes. The soups & starters are very varied & very nice - the spare ribs are excellent

Quality food not the cheapest though

To be honest it was fairly awful. I had a beef curry that tasted weird and was bulked up with so much onion. Won't be using again however desperate we are.

Great little place offering, in my opinion, one of the best Cantonese takeaways in the local area. My wife and I order for collection from here on almost a weekly basis and the food is consistently good (as the name suggests!) and usually made quickly. The staff are very friendly and always endeavour to provide reliable service. The prices are also very reasonable. We are very happy eating from here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Portion sizes have reduced, food tasted of dirty fat tonight.....sorry - wont be using this take away again 🥺 it's gone really downhill lately and I have used this place for years.

First time used tonight thought service was very pleasant and food was excellent still hot when got back ... will defo bein goin again would highly reccomend if not tried before 10/10 👍

I almost broke a tooth on a substantial size of grit in the egg fried rice. Staff are for some reason hostile and very unfriendly. Never see chinese people in chinese takeaways I wonder why.

Gave me food poisoning after chicken balls

Good OK but very slow and only few people in on a Friday night. Service was terrible no body seemed interested in what we wanted and waited 15 minutes after ordering drinks waiter just leaning on the wall while taking food and drinks order should no interest or intetaction. Won't go again gone down hill from last visit.

This place gets worse every time I go. Service is slow, I witnessed a waiter arguing with an elderly lady who complained that her steak wasn't cooked properly, and has anybody ever bought anything out of that dirty cake stand on the bar? This is the place to go if you like drinking Jeager bombs at 4 o'clock on a Friday afternoon, other than that, steer clear!

I've used this takeaway a few times, it's always been pretty mediocre. Tonight I placed an order that took 1 hour 30 minutes to arrive (was told 30-40 minutes). The food was terrible - the chips were like cold sticks of cardboard, the crispy shredded beef was soft, the house special fried rice was simply egg fried rice (clearly they messed up our order) and the chicken 'satay' was basically rubbery chicken floating in some tasteless yellowish water.... In fairness the prawn crackers were rather nice. I had to call to see where my order was, when the driver arrived I asked how much I'd been charged for delivery.. £3. When I asked for this to be refunded (I paid over the phone) He said 'it's Friday night, what do you expect' and followed this up with 'I'm just a delivery driver' as he was walking off. Nice. I called to complain and was told that I'd receive a discount on my next order. This is a bit weak and when paying £26 for a spring roll, 2 mains, rice and chips I expect to get half decent food. I said that I wasn't happy with this and that I wanted a refund, to which they declined. I offered to return the food but given it had been dished up and wasn't all there (in order to appreciate just how bad the food was one does have to actually taste it). Because the food wasn't still in the containers and wasn't all there they wouldn't refund mmmm, what were they going to do? Resell it..... Needless to say I won't be going here again and I'd strongly advise anyone reading this review to avoid also.

Great local food in no time at all! Called up last minute for a meal 15 mins before closing time. Very helpful friendly chef took my order and it was ready in no time. I can thoroughly recommend the House Special Chow Mein, absolutely delicious and fresh! A classic Chinese restaurant in the heart of Gamston. What's not to like. !?

The food is excellent, but the young girl on the counter is unspeakably rude. She got my order very wrong and wnet I went back to ask to chnage it she did not want to. Also, a dish was missing. I did not mind paying for it, but she refused to let me pay by card as it was under £10. She actually refused to let me have what I wanted. I was polite, she was rude. The owner came out and said I could have my ish, pay and card and he replaced the incorrect dish. You cannot beat the quality of this food, but damn, that girl needs to get a different job.

Would give zero if possible. Ordered a meal including ribs costing £5. Received a box with a handful of very small dry pieces. Called back to let them know and was told we were 'just unlucky' and that was seemingly ok with them. Asked for some sort of reimbursement and the young lady put the phone down on me. Spoke to manager and he wasn't that bothered, apart from the rudeness of his staff. He thought that their costs keep going up made the portion acceptable. Any other takeaway would've provided 4 times the number/size/quality of ribs. Would not recommend, of course!

Don't bother - we had ordered for family and friends and the order arrived, missing a number of dishes. We called back to complain the order was incomplete 'Call next time and we will replace the items - too busy to deliver' - Well that was another trip to the local fish and chip to make up for the food! Don't bother - and the food was pretty mediocre!!

Beef was fatty and chips were reheated and dry. Not a patch on Canton Express.

the food was awful.chicken balls burnt on the outside soggy in the middle,the chips were rock hard, ordered cans of pop it was put into the same bag as the food.will not eat here again.

Service was excellent, ordered by phone they said 15 minutes and it was ready in 15 minutes. The food is very good will be going back
