Blotts Country Club in Rushcliffe

Brilliant place, I attended as a supplier for a wedding ceremony, where we set up a 360 booth. I have to say the venue was fantastic, the garden area also spacious. The reason for the 5 star rating was that the staff and management were very friendly and helpful, which is so important alongside venue!

A lovely venue for small events with high a ramp walk. I had a lovely time during a lady's only event, it has spacious parking too. On the downside, it is very inside the country side, surrounded by a lakeside, so if you love nature vibes and are happy to drive deep on country roads, you will love this majestic venue.

Attended a wedding here . Would be nice if the venue had clear signs on route as it was confusing to get too. The hall was nice but the bathroom could do with an upgrade and on chilly evenings the heating could do with cranking up. Parking is directly outside the venue which is always a plus point.

Beautiful place with so much space offering great outdoor seating as well as gardens for children activities such as bouncy castle etc. We attended friends wedding and it was beautiful and well laid out. Lovely decor and refurb. Definitely a beautiful venue for weddings and other events.

Had a family wedding at Blotts at the weekend and we had a amazing experience. The New Ownership has made some changes which make a big difference and the management team on the day was Fantastic. They had planned things so well and the changes we requested on the day where dealt with in a quick and efficient way to not effect the guests enjoying themselves. Wish them all the best, if they keep to them standards they wont have any problems.

Overall Its not a bad venue for wedding functions, nice decorative, I've been here a few times before but its always cramped inside seating wise, so theirs not much space. The service is ok, parking too.

Fantastic experience here, the staff helped us in many ways to ensure a perfect day. Always available for meetings, and work with you to ensure your happy. Very attentive. Lovely venue and a decent sized carpark. Eye to detail with every little thing being taken into consideration from the color of the napkins wanted to lights for the staging. Venue looks even better in summer!

Great venue for smaller Asian weddings but you will need to make sure that there are enough waiters to cater properly and speedily for your guests. That said there is a wonderful stage, a nice outdoor area for spring and summer (perfect for children and adults alike) and plenty of parking. It has that cozy feel about it - plush carpet and wooden decor.

Wow.Want to say a massive Thank you to Geoff Blott and all his amazing team for organising Chloe and Jamie's wedding on saturday.From the minute we met to discuss everything we were put totally at ease and came away feeling very confident.Nothing was ever too much trouble.We had a wonderful day.Thanks to the weather we also managed to have the ceremony outside which had been set out beautifully.The string quartet played softly in the background which was lovely.The food was excellent as was the fireworks and the band and the disco.Loved the confetti showering over them during their first dance.So much to be thankful for i can'y remember it all.Joy , you was an absoloute joy and so helpful.😘Thanks also to Jim who loved telling me there was more food coming.😂.You certainly fed us well.Just from the bottom of my heart Thank you to you all for creating our daughter and son-in-law an amazing day.❤xx

Totally discraceful getting our wedding cancelled because we are British this whole situation is racism if I've ever seen it. Totally disgusted in this behaviour and has totally upset my future wife.......

Booked a wedding there and they sold it without giving us prior notice. Plus they've sold it to a company that does not cater for English weddings. Absolutely digraceful service

My dayghters wedding was held at Blotts at the weekend. I have been to many a venue over the years but can rate this as the best. From arrival Jim and his team were so attentive, the staff were organised, polite yet discreate. The food was marvelous, the service brilliant and the over all day went without a hitch, Blotts covered everything. I highly recommend this venue and would like again to thank Jim and his team for a wedding day that will be so memorable. My daughter/son in law were thrilled, all our guests commented on the day too.Thank you!

Our son had his prom there, he said it was an awful dirty place that needed a good clean and a dust! The food was disgusting with no taste and the crockery was dirty!

Blotts have hosted my Wife's day for bereaved parents and siblings for some time now, and have been welcoming and helpful. The venue has outside and inside spaces, so allows small groups and a large general gathering in the same venue, there is even a stage and a bar. It is easy to get to yet feels peaceful and rural. If you fed up with the cool for cats scandi style, then this would be a welcome traditional relief.

The bar staff was gettin there groove on to reggae 😂 great place, knocked a star of for pricing though. Double vodka and red bull £10.80 😮

Horrible owners. Grabbed my son by his throat on his prom which was held there, admitted he didn't know why under a police interveiw....will not accept the apology letter the police want to give me. But hope everyone thinks twice before booking with these animals.

10 of us recently enjoyed a fantastic evening of George Michael for my brother in law's birthday. We actually had a call earlier in the day to explain that compare Des Coleman had been taken seriously ill, and the GM tribute act had phoned in sick, and we were offered a full refund. We decided to go anyway due to the occasion and are so glad we did! The alternative tribute was brilliant, we danced all night, and the food was delicious. A great night had by all, thank you :)

We were there on 23rd Nov to see Rob Lamberti (George Michael)and Des Coleman. Although we were informed that Rob was ill and they had another George Michael tribute act who was rubbish, we were not informed until the other compare came on who was also rubbish. Our party of 6 were very disappointed as we attend Blotts regularly and have been going for a number of years. Blotts a real let down last night.

went to Blotts last night to see george michael tribute act, the original act cancelled last minute, Blotts did call and offerered us the chance to cancel, I am really glad we went as we had a fantastic night. the replacement act was good, the meal was also fantastic. thanks Blotts for a great night.

We booked to see Des Coleman and Rob Lamberti (top George Michael tribute act) on 23rd November. 6 of us paid £240, pre booked. On the day of the gig we were informed that Rob wasn't performing due to Ill health. Ok, can't be helped, get well soon Rob. Then when we got there we had a mediocre meal followed by an announcement that Des wasn't there either!?! So the 2 people we had booked to see weren't actually there!! The whole of our party feels so let down by blotts. There was no offer of refund or recompense for this, we had to confront the manager. I will be pursuing a refund but feel sorry for the other 300 or so people who were there who probably didn't speak out and feel as let down as we do. My advice would be to contact the manager and ask for a refund if you were there, it was terrible service, you didn't get what you paid for, we were all fobbed off with inferior acts!!

We had a work event at Blotts a few weeks ago for almost 300 people. The staff were really helpful in the run up to and during our event, and were really flexible with all our requirements. Our guests all enjoyed the evening, we had loads of positive feedback.

I went to a charity event last night to this place and it will be the last time I ever step foot in the place. The food was absolutely disgusting. The worst meal I have ever ever had. The place smelt fusty and damp. 2 bar staff on duty which caused mayhem as you had to wait a very long time to be served, the selection of drink available was minimal. Staff worked hard and were pleasant and they tried to do their best with very little help. All in all what could of been a good evening was sadly let down by the venue .

I had my wedding here on 31.08.18!! And I would NOT recommend, services was shocking! We spent so much on food and didn’t even get half of what we ordered! Absolute shambles! Table clothes where dirty! With dryed food and all sorts on them, ceremony chair covers was dirty with chocolate on them! Got kicked out before 12pm even tho our taxis hadn’t arrived! Literally showed us the door and lock it! I will be going to seek advice from my solicitor as it was unacceptable. Please book with caution.

Brilliant day, bereavement day for Nottingham children's hospital. Thanks to the staff for all their help and support!

The food was awful! I chose the veggie option. Claimed to be risotto. Tasteless slop. Served with boiled potatoes?? Overcooked dry veg. The sorbet was nice. My colleagues were wondering where the nearest chippie was, as portions were so small. £25 a head? Rip off. Sort the food.

Went to an event with a group of people and it was like stepping back in time. And not in a good way. The place looks run down and smells fusty. The garden is nice but ruined with cheap plastic garden furniture. The serving staff wore tabards - the sort that carers wear in care homes - what’s that all about? Accompanied by white gloves too? Hilarious! The food - one of the worst meals we’ve ever had; A prawn cocktail with TWO prawns Soup like dishwater One thin slice of colourless dried up beef A chicken breast as small as a ping pong ball We also had to send a chicken breast back as it was pink and undercooked. An uncooked sloppy like warm pastry veggie option Over boiled, tasteless and colourless veg And a generous dessert of....wait for it.....3 profiteroles! And these were just 3 plain ones stick on a plate, no chocolate on them! Overpriced unacceptable food for over £40 per head. We have been ripped off. It was like hospital food - cold, overcooked, umdercooked, tasteless and mushy. You need a new chef. You also need smarter staff uniforms, not hospital tabards and white gloves. Although it added to the entertainment for us! You also need to check your drinks prices - 2 gin and tonics - in small, thin glasses, one lump of ice and no lemon or anything - and wait for it......£18 for 2 of these! What a rip off for an out of town, run down, stuck in w time warp place. They’re charging city centre prices and I’d have expected at £9 a throw a nice glass, a couple of lumps of ice and at least a slice of lemon! Also, your stage has sharp nails stick out all along the edge of it. 3 of my friends ripped their hands open on these nails. I suggest you sort that out pronto. None of us will visit here again, just awful.

What a lovely night we had, 10 of us went to see Heroes at Blotts last night. As usual the greeting at the door, the reception and the staff were wonderful. They always make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The meal was delicious, hot plates and very tasty food and being gluten free my needs were catered for too. The Band were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Lucky to have a venue like this in Nottingham. Well done and thank you.

its a decent size wedding venue, drive way lit with bulbs are nice touch, inside ok , problem for video and photographer is low light? you need extra light to light dark corners.

Geoff, Joy, Jim, Michelle and all the staff at Blotts were such a huge part of our magical fairytale, day. It wouldn't have been possible without them. In the lead up, they were always on hand, nothing was ever too much of an ask. The most polite, accommodating and passionate team we have ever met. On the day, they met every expectation and more, from the red carpet to the food, the pristine grounds, the service, arrangement of the fireworks, timing...nothing could be faulted. Thank you so much for everything. We just wish we could do it all again.

Good entertainment with tribute acts of Shania Twain,Boy George, George Michael and The Jersey boys. Food edible but nothing fantastic. Dance floor too small for the amount of people in there. Staff polite, friendly and very efficient.

We had our August wedding at Blotts, having been recommended by a work colleague who had attended a previous wedding. It did not disappoint! The venue and grounds are beautiful, particularly the 'crystal room' which has a stunning chandelier and opulent decor. We had beautiful pictures, taken both inside and outside.

Very nice venue but no WiFi and very poor connection indoors

We had booked somewhere else but were let down at the last minute. Contacted Blotts and Jim was extremely accommodating and managed to get us in for the 17th December 2016! I am a great believer in reviews, and was a little concerned about some of what i read, but i never discount places until i have tried myself so went with an open mind.

We went to the Christmas Dinner and Dance, Soul and Mowtown Night. The nine of us thought the entertainment was excellent and we danced the night away. The venue was very busy so to serve all those people with a Christmas Meal was impressive. There were 2 choices, one vegetarian. Although not my favourite I chose the beef and was pleasantly suprised. None of us could fault the food. We will definately be booking again next year if not before.

My sister got married here in February 2016. what a amazing experience, from the initial meeting with the team to the event itself. The team helped with everything- including all the extra things they provided us ( candy table hire, Table deco, Fridge assess for storage) . The deco is amazing and gives you a proper country style setting. The grounds are well kept and the lights around the building external and internal are always lit up which give the entrance and exit a warm feel. There is a bridal suite that the bride and groom can use to get ready or sit in - my sister got some beautiful pictures here. Such a professional, well structured management team. The brothers are so helpful and will really go that extra mile to cater your every needs. This family run business really takes pride in its work and make sure that everyone - visiting or arranging a function here are given a outstanding service.

Went to a wedding on 27th of August.

Attended at Blotts for a 3 course meal and to watch a great group called "Blue Moon" sing Northern Soul. Soul and Mowtown that went down a treat and filled the dance floor throughout the bands appearance. (But I do love this type of music). The food was superb and well served by waitresses. Drinks were a bit expensive, But the bar provided jugs of Iced water free of charge. The food was well worth the £15 per head on the night. Food was well presented. Large portions and very tasty. I believe that the Beef may have been processed, But having said that, it was very tasty. The chicken did appear to be fresh...as was the potatoes. Would definitely go again to any other do advertised and would recommend this venue to any one wishing to have a function.

Can't say anything more that I was nervous about going out for Christmas lunch for the first time and I was not disappointed in any way. The food, service and atmostphere was fantastic. Thank you.

Organised our annual christmas party here. Seemed a good idea to have a meal, band and disco all under one roof. The meal was absolutely awful. Processed turkey roll, dreadful stuffing, lacklustre vegetables, followed by the smallest christmas pudding I have ever seen, alternative was 3 profiteroles. Then a series of party games commenced with table singing competitions etc etc. it reminded me of the 1970's holiday camp. Then a band appeared on stage, the music was to loud to be able to hear the vocals, the dance floor remained empty, all in all a terrible performance. Then the disco started. I have never been to a christmas party night when not 1 party tune was played. Not one of our staff left their seats to dance all night. For the money we were charged this place is a disgrace. Avoid at all costs

I was surprised not to find previous reviews for this venue as the website claims it is perfect for weddings and other functions. I had heard about Blotts for many years, but my first visit was a couple of weeks ago for a formal dinner, It was not at all a cheap night out and the quality of the food was shocking for what we paid: nasty, cheap packet soup, with a tasteless roll, a 'Christmas dinner' with very poor turkey and horrid stuffing [probably another cheap packet mix], and a tiny Christmas pudding with a swirl of thin custard. This may have been acceptable back in the 80s,but people now have higher expectations. The mark-up must be huge! I have no previous visit to compare this with, but I would be extremely disappointed to choose Blotts for a major function and be served similar food and would certainly not be prepared to recommend it based on my experience. On a positive note, although the décor is somewhat dated, the layout is good and the DJ and the excellent band ensured that we all had a good evening, in spite of the food.
