Upon arrival, I wasn’t greeted in a professional manner, I had to wait almost an hour for my food to be served, the food tastes dry with a lack of spice, the rice was cold and wasn’t very Fufiling. The price of the food was also ridiculous, a meal for two costing around £35 which I found quite expensive. On top of this, the service wasn’t great. I was forced to move tables when sat down. However at the end they gave us warm towels to wash our hands with which I found quite helpful. Overall I would give this restaurant 1/5, I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody else, you’re better off elsewhee

Again this is the last review for Bengali restaurants in Romford as they all seem to serve cheap meat thrown into a sauce no effort never authentic

We used to go here often AND loved it. but the service & quality has seriously gone down hill. It can be hit or miss how fresh the food is , the same goes for the quality of service. The same goes for the food.

Booked in advance with friends but really didn't need to have done. Really good service and food, and good if you like it a little quiet mid week. Can get busy on weekend.

We regularly eat at the Gondo and also get take out. The guys are friendly, they have their own loyalty system. Will continue to visit at least once a month for a well cooked good value dinner

We ventured in here yesterday for the first time and had a lovely meal. We've lived around the corner for almost 3 years now and have never bothered with this place as it doesn't look great from the outside - seems to be a common theme with Romford restaurants. It's very nice inside, nothing over-elaborate, just clean and relaxing. The food was very good, I particularly enjoyed the jalfrezi. The service was good, non-intrusive, not rushed. All in all it was great experience and a perfect way to use up a couple of hours while the rain lashed down outside. We will definitely be back!

Good takeaway. Food tasted great. Nice staff and I would definitely return. They also operate a loyalty scheme which is worth having for a takeaway.

We normally visit the other side of Romford for an Indian as near where we live. We were this end of Romford so thought we would give it a go.Staff were excellent, friendly but polite and available. Plenty of customers. Food was good and nice. We ate everything as it was tasty and good quality but there was a lot of salt, we would prefer this omitted but just personal preference.Toilets lovely and clean and the decoration nice and fresh and smart. All plates, cutlery sparkling. With the bill came 2 shots and we spent ages trying to work out what it was as the smell reminded us of childhood! We worked out it smelt like cola cubes but the waiter told us it was a cherry liqueur. Also a rise for me and 2 chocolates and a loyalty card - great idea.Nice restaurant, staff brilliant, lovely extras, food nice but salty for us but I don't add any salt in my cooking as I have to avoid it for a kidney problem but give them a go, we had an enjoyable meal :-)

Recently under new management with high emphasis on the GuestsFood is excellent, well presented and for the high class this restaurant provides good value for money. The decor after the recent refurbishment is very contemporary but with an Asian twistI certainly will be going back and I am hard to pleaseTry it you won't be disappointed

The worst decision I’ve ever made was going into this restaurant . Should have know as was empty but we thought (give it a go) well we waited and waited for our starters( 45-50 minutes ) still being the only two people in there we thought must be very fresh as taking a while . Well we thought wrong, salad on starter looked like last weeks and the meat was so over seasoned it was like they we’re trying to disguise it , also the dips for our poppadoms were dried out and nasty looking . Needless to say we didn’t wait for the mains ( could have been there all night !) Don’t be fooled by the nice decor or low lighting this is not worth your time or your money .

Went on a Monday and found we were the only customers. The chef and waiter greeted us with big smiles which was a good start. Told him we had a Wowcher, No problem. Got our drinks and the waiter gave us five mins to order our starters. When we got that out of the way he gave us another five to sod around choosing mains. Got to say that some of the items on the menu I,d never heard of before(will get back to that later). The starters came up a little on the small side but were quite nice. The mains(one Passanda, one Korai and one Tikka Mossala were reasonable sized but all three were very different from what I had ever had before!!! They just weren,t what we were used to. They were very nice, and I think reading between the lines and the strange items on the menu led me to conclude that Chef might not be your average East End/Essex Indian restaurant chef. Possible he is from some obscure part of the Asian Subcontinent. Plus points...... good flavoured mains, nice rice and sides. Friendly geezers. Minus points.....small starters, Peshwari nans came up plain. No draft beers(despite at least two pumps at the bar). That's why it,s only three stars. Just remembered none of the phone numbers work so had to take a chance they were open

Do not order from this place. The delivery driver has now stolen things from my porch twice, and was caught on my ring doorbell. Also items of food have been forgotten a few times and not replaced.
