Efficient and lovely staff. We always do a very specific order and the food, as always, was perfect. Hot, done in time and always to the specific expectations we have. Thoroughly impressed. My favourite Chinese in Staffordshire

This takeaway has deteriorated since Pauline and John left. We waited 3 hours for delivery and it was cold when it arrived so my husband refused to pay for the meal. When he spoke to the owners they were very rude and were not at all bothered about what had happened . Very poor service and they obviously do not need our custom

Wow - somethings changed at the Golden Wok - portion sizes dramatically reduced, flavourless and really cheap quality meat and the prices have rocketed. Used to be our go to and would always recommend to others. Not now.

Golden Wok used to be our Chinese takeaway of choice in Lichfield. Not visited for a little while and our recent return was very disappointing. Prices were up which is fair enough for a decent meal in these challenging times. However, the quality was down - crispy shredded beef was soft and chewy, sweet + sour pork was hard and dry. Portion sizes were smaller - most tubs were just over half full. Maybe we visited on an off night and this isn't indicative of all Golden Wok food but our experience has put us off trying them again for awhile.

Too busy talking to other people whilst taking an order over the phone, then telling you you didn’t order that main meal when you phone and ask where the meal you ordered is. There was only two of us and it wasn’t a complex order. Never again

Had takeaway from here whilst working in the area, really tasty food and polite friendly service, great stuff!!

Our new ‘regular’ Chinese takeaway. As always, absolutely fantastic and such prompt efficient service. Can’t wait for the next one.

First visit since new ownership. I thought it strange that I was the only person there and no phones ringing. All chefs stood chatting. Got home and completely wrong meal. Ordered beef curry and chips and got chicken curry and the smallest portion of rice ever Cheap curry sauce used. Sadly won’t be returning.

Good food no complaints, we've found our Chinese in Lichfield. Very understandable on the phone, you can see your food being cooked, no sound of the DING machine

Disappointed with the service, they missed some of our takeaway but the apology I got started to get argumentative and she was a tad rude Shame as we have been going for years so may need to look elsewhere next time If they are new owners this may explain why

New ownership ??? Why have the size of portions almost halved, never seen such small containers, very disappointing. Your a Chinese takeaway competing in Lichfield you should at least try and match others in the city.

We recently ordered a takeaway and, although the food was good, the service was terrible. We made the order over the phone and, despite the order being read back to us, it arrived with some of the meal missing. We called the restaurant and explained the situation and they agreed to send out the missing food. When it arrived, we were charged extra for the missing food as well as an additional delivery charge, despite the restaurant apologising for their mistake. Sadly, we won’t be ordering from here again as this is not the first time something like this has happened.

Best Chinese food we have had for years. We will definitely go again. Every dish was cooked beautifully. Extensive menu and friendly service.

We ordered lots of different dishes from here tonight for our anniversary meal as we couldn't go out. And wasn't disappointed everything was beautiful really fresh,the battered prawns in garlic and chilli are delicious. We will definitely be ordering again.

Brilliant takeaway. 3 meals plus rice, noodles, spring rolls and a free bag of prawn crackers. All delicious! Highly recommended.

We ordered one of the set menu dishes for 2 and every dish was delicious. You can tell they are using high quality ingredients and put a lot of effort in. No negative feedback whatsoever. This is definitely our new #1 for Chinese takeaway!

Visited the Golden Wok when we first moved to Lichfield at the recommendation of a Friend who was born and bred Lichfieldien. The BEST Chinese we’ve ever had despite boasting living by a great Chinese in Streetly prior to moving here. Since the Golden Wok has been closed for lock down we sorely miss the food, despite being glad they are staying safe in these troubling times, we have tried other Chinese takeaway options in Lichfield and it’s highlighted how poor other food is in comparison. Please support this establishment when lock down is over, it’s truly great food that needs to be recognised! Can’t wait for you to open again when everything is safe and back to normal!

We have used this place since it opened when it had a change of owners and a new name after closing and a refurbishment.Always friendly service and good delivery.The food is not the best Chinese you will ever eat but it is good and consistant in it's quality.We will continue to use it as a take away.

Can't fault the freindliness and the service.Unfortunately the food wasn't as tasty as we expected.The ribs were in the wrong sauce.I'd initially asked for BBQ sauce but was asked if I was sure as the most popular was Cantonese sauce.I thought I must have it wrong so went for the recommendation.It was too tangy for me but the ribs were of good quality (some takeaways ribs are awful, mainly fat).The other dish was chicken satay.Very bland compared to our usual takeaway.The chicken was very 'uniform'. Oblong, as if any marinade couldn't soak in properly, assuming it had been marinated?Shame.We will no doubt try again one day and this time I will see if I was right to ask for BBQ sauce.Oh yes, one other thing.They didn't have a card machine, they had to write the long number, date, security number down.Didn't like that.This would definitely put us off if we didn't have cash on us next time.

Has always been good and efficient until tonight when they failed to produce the order I’d paid for. It’s not exactly rocket science for a takeaway to give you what they’ve taken the money from you for. Very poor service - it will be a long time before I visit this takeaway restaurant again.

I ordered a takeway for delivery on New Years Day. The lady who took the order is very professional and friendly and the time given of 45 minutes was spot on. I ordered Crispy Aromatic Duck and I love the fact that they prepare it for you unlike many takeaways where you have to shred it yourself. Chicken satay skewers, Yuk Sung, Chicken wings in chilli and salt, lemon chicken and chicken chow mein with prawn crackers which were so fresh. Every dish was full of flavour and quality ingredients. This really is the best chinese food in Lichfield including the restaurants. The hygiene rating of 5 is welcomed when you look at the closest chinese restaurant to it Lee Garden and its hygiene rating of 1!!!

I've been visiting the Golden Wok for many years now, and it gets better and better, the food is first class, staff are wonderful. And the value is amazing. I shall always return, I reccomend this fantastic establishment every time. I shall see you soon. Xx

Our first visit but we will definitely used the Golden Wok again. Excellent meal, food was freshly cooked and piping hot. Very reasonably priced and good quality products. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and chatty

Today is the first time we have tried Golden Wok and ordered Crispy Aromatic Duck, Sweet and Sour Chicken Cantonese Style Chicken Chow Mein and Spicy Shredded Crispy Beef. All the dishes were simply superb. Piping hot from the delivery man., The quality of all dishes really good and unlike many takeaways where you have to shred the duck yourself this is pre prepared so even better, I moved from Sutton Coldfield and this takeaway is superior to any that I used to use around Four Oaks and Streetly.Highly recommend.

This is a great takeaway with lovely food . Wouldn’t use anywhere else locally . Have been using this for a couple of years and every meal is excellent.

First time we've used golden wok and I am really impressed the food was delicious. We have lived here 9 years and rarely have Chinese as it never seems great. This was excellent and will definitely use them again!

Found this Chinese restaurant on trip adviser and facebook so though we would give it a try. We dont have Chinese very often as our favourite doesn't deliver. However we were more than happy with the food and delivery service the Golden Wok gave us. Expected a 40min wait and 20mins later the food arrived. Good ribs, nice Yuk Sung, Nice crispy shredded beef and the kids demolished ALL of their dishes too! Will definitely use again!

This place is a diamond amount the rut. The food is outstanding and consistently tasty and hot. I cannot fault a single dish we have had. The place is clean and run my the most friendliest Chinese women I have ever met. She is very welcoming and friendly and seems to recognise our order on arrival. It is also very well priced when compared to other comparable Chinese restaurants (such as Lee Garden). Please visit you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely great food - love the hot and sour soup, crispy duck, noodles, in fact everything we've had. Add to this the lovely lady who runs the place and this is my new favourite takeaway.

I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to write one for the Golden Wok. The quality of the food was superb - the best ribs ever, fabulous yuk sung and our main dishes weren't filled with the gelatinous gloop that so many Chinese takeaways are. Definitely recommended!

I chose the Golden Wok on the strength of the existing Trip Advisor reviews and I am very glad I did. The food was ordered easily and arrived quicker than expected at our destination and it was every bit as tasty as I could have hoped for. We had sweet and sour chicken, duck, chicken chow mien and boiled rice. The duck was exceptionally tasty and succulent. The food was hot and fresh upon arrival and my family enjoyed a lovely celebration takeaway at our hotel lounge. Would definitely recommend Golden Wok; the food was also very reasonably priced as well as very enjoyable to eat.

I will only ever use golden wok. The food is always 100% and delivery is very quick! If your in the Lichfield are do not try anybody else other than golden wok they will not let you down!

The only Chinese we ever use, tried a few other in Lichfield and none come close. The food is always hot and timely, staff are friendly and everything is delicious!

My first place to go for Chinese food. Cooked perfectly , good range of dishes , delivery is fast and friendly , simply the best in Lichfield.

Myself and friends found service to be great. The lady who we spoke to over the phone was excellent, polite and friendly. The food came in a timely manner and the man who delivered it to us was also very polite and friendly. Will be ordering here again.

Excellent food - fresh, balanced and tasty without the saturation of oil and gloop in some of their local competitors - recommended and good value

This was our first experience with the Golden Wok, we had such a warm welcome when we came to collect our order - so lovely!! The food was exceptional, piping hot and brimming with flavour with no trace of oil or anything. I would 100% recommend the szechuan beef, it was so tender - I've never had anywhere cook it so well!

Delivered in 40 mins, very polite delivery man too. Starters were lovely and really enjoyed the chicken balls. Excellent service and good price and quality.

The Golden Wok, opened today 27 July 2017. The chicken and duck curries were beautifully spicy, and my daughter claims the egg fried rice was the best she has ever tasted. The lady at the counter was described as "lovely" by my son.
