Golden Star in Poole

We were staying in Rockley park for a holiday and decided to have a Chinese takeaway there were a few to choose from but we decided to go for this one as it had higher ratings than the others. The lady who served us was very friendly and polite. Came back to our pod and the chicken chow mein was amazing (hubby said the best he has had) the Singapore fried rice… the chicken was lovely but the rice was very dry chips and curry sauce was delicious too. Overall a nice Chinese restaurant!!

They must have new owner's. Spring rolls were very greasy! I had chrispy shredded duck, it was cold and slimy!! No crispyness about it. Ended up in the bin.

This is definitely a little gem, great food and value for money, we had the set meal for 3 and there was loads, this is not my normal Chinese, but I will definitely be using it again

Away on holiday and fancied a Chinese WOW we couldn’t have made a better choice……. You normally find Chinese is never better than the one you use at home but this was superb ( cooked to perfection ) . 5*****

Best chinese in Poole food was at a standard i only ever experienced in China. Flavor not greasy good portions and decent prices definalty recommend 👌

Food was made quickly and the customer service was excellent! I highly recommend it. in addition, the menu had many delicious looking options, I love the variety, though I’ll always stick to the classic chow mein

Had a take away from here and the set menu for 2 was awful, food tasted bland and not cooked properly. A total waste of money will never return

I ordered 3 massaman curries 1 with chicken and 2 with roast duck. What we have got looks like a canned chicken soup consistency and in colour. Duck looked like pork loins sliced with fat on the edges. The best bit was the free portion of prawn crackers, which were extremely small. £30 pound wasted.

Served very quickly and food cooked quickly. House Special Chow Mein was a little salty. The rest of the food was lovely.

Beware. We ordered from this Chinese takeaway to be delivered to rockly park, but what they are doing is charging you alot more for being a hoilday maker than if you were a local!. £2.00 extra per item, plus a delivery charge. Although food great.

Little hidden gem of a Chinese in Poole. The food was of outstanding quality. Fresh, hot and completely grease free! 10/10 and excellent value for money. I'm not from this part of the UK but will definitely be visiting again when I'm back down south.

Ordered a take away delivery Sunday 31/7/22. Arrived within the hour as promised. The food was absolutely first class and plenty of it.

We ordered a king prawn dish and a house special curry. My wife said it was the worst she had eaten, tasted very powdery. My dish was mainly vegetables and not many prawns.

Been meaning to write a review for ages but alas the old brain cells have let me down. My stomach hasn’t with the delicious saviour, sweet, spicy delights of Lucky Star. My favourite being Singapore vegetarian fried rice (plenty more spice is never refused) and their succulent juicy monster pancake rolls 👍 I’ve tried various dishes from here and have never been let down in flavour, in taste, portion size and price. All my boxes get ticked in this way. The happy smiling greeting of the staff is always upped by the elusive but sneaky smiling of “Ping” whose eyes shyly pop up at the counter a la ‘Chad’. I always big this place up to anyone who asks especially as it is a far superior take away establishment to the dodgy kebab merchants next door(don’t go there 🤢)!!!! All else I can say is go visit and enjoy a rather fairly priced delicious takeaway for either yourself or family and friends.

My dad and I regularly order from here and the food is always delicious. Well priced, good portions and lovely staff. Definitely recommend to anyone!

Not great strange flavours. Prawn crackers has a cheese taste...odd Chcken curry mainly onion...fried rice not fried??

We live very close to this takeaway and used to use it all the time, I believe it has had a change of management, a new name (Lucky Star) and the quality has taken a dive.

I've tried many different Chinese places and this one is by far the best one. The food is so good here I highly recommend.

Now, this is only take-away (and delivered) food so let's keep a sense of perspective. It's never going to win awards for presentation when served in a plastic pot! However, this is, without doubt, the best take away food in Poole! The noodles are sooo good! I have travelled around Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia and this is the nearest that you will get to that elusive yum taste of the East. Incidentally, the plastic pots that it arrives in are very useful for the freezer and even stack well when empty.

Always really friendly in here. Not had a bad meal from here, have used them a lot and only twice had wrong item in our order.

There are many take away options if looking for a Chinese. Tried them all but keep coming back time after time to Golden Star. Good food, reasonable price and home delivery. Just pick up the phone and order, never got the wrong order yet. Brilliant
