Golden Pearl in Spelthorne

I had a really poor meal here once before - but it was a while ago and I thought I’d try it again. Unfortunately, this time it was even worse. Szechuan chicken - a clear sauce with a few bits of Szechuan pepper. Otherwise totally bland with no discernible flavour at all. The chicken itself was dry, stringy and chewy - literally like leather and absolutely inedible. It had definitely been pre cooked quite some time ago. Even the rice didn’t taste fresh, and the vegetables needed salt. The staff were pleasant and polite and service was quick. Otherwise disappointed - definitely the worse Chinese cuisine I’ve ever tasted.

Disgusting food, not improved as all, it has actually got worse.... why did I go back again? I'm a glutton for punishment.

I had a take away from here once and vowed never to eat from here again, it was awful, thank god for Phoenix house in the high street have never been disappointed

We use the home delivery service. The food is usually good and the delivery is usually within the time specified.

The golden pearl i used for years as didn't realise Phoenix house takerway in stanwell village was so good no would waist my money buying food at the golden pearl

Excellent Chinese takeaway which is very quick from order to 'counter' ready. Sizeable portions and averagely priced. High recommendation.

I visited this restaurant for a lunch. They had a good deal for lunch and they prepared delicious food very quickly. Bear in mind, they only do the take aways.

The food was excellent. Nice and hot and very tasty. Order was very fast. Delivered very quickly and driver was very polite. Great value for money. Will definitely be using them again. Thank you for good service.

I thought I would give it another chance after a few months of not eatting from here as the food was poor last time this time my other half had chicken chow mein and chicken fried rice and I had prawn balls but you could taste the prawn in his chow mein and he doesn't eat prawns also the sauce (sweet and sour) is badly watered down

Esta fue nuestra calle 1 para llevar desde aquí y nos quedamos muy sorprendidos después de leer algunas de las otras críticas. Sólo puedo hablar como me encuentro y puedo decir que fue muy agradable. La carne satay era muy sabroso, caliente y la carne era tan tierno. Las costillas a la barbacoa eran exuberantes, un montón de carne en ellos. Los fideos con pollo era muy buena, como la salsa de curry. Sin duda alguna volveremos otra vez.

This is my local Chinese and it's not very good at all. Everything is the same colour & pretty much tastes like any other dish.

Very friendly staff, food reasonably priced and a good choice. Clean and comfortable area to wait for food.

Visited this take away a couple of times. Both times have found the rice to be extremely greasy. Chop sueys are greasy and the meat is extremely poor quality do not eat there

La comida en el Golden Pearl es siempre bueno, fresca y caliente. El Singapore arroz es el mejor que he tenido. También tienen muy buenas y barbacoa de curry salsas. Precios razonables y un personal amable. Yo vivo en Bedfont y siempre ir a Stanwell para esta chino en vez de la local.

Tenía un curry chino desde allí era horrible como picante agua marrón con unos trozos de carne y 3 o 4 setas nunca jamás estás advertido jaja.

Disgusting food - tastes like heated up left overs.Had bad experience before xmas and thought we'd give it another try as it may have picked up a bit...wrong...still vile!Go to Pheonix House in the village...lovely food, good value and brilliant staff

cleanliness need some attention in this place, below average food, cant put my finger on it but seems like there's a distinct lack of attention to the prep and cooking of the food, its sloppy, the rice just seems to lack flavour, and all thrown together in the container, the good side was it was hot!! there's better in the old village up the road, what this one lacks, the other one makes up for, I would eat there again..... but it will be some time before I do and will go to the old village first every time, its cheap but I would rather pay a little more and have better food

Chinese food poorly prepared. Main ingredient seems to be onion.Over cooked & tastes awful. Great if you've had a skinful down the local pub.

Always welcoming and quick service. Great local Chinese. We normally collect and get a couple of their meals for 1 with rice, main dish and drink for under £5. Would recommend.
