We ordered crab meat and sweetcorn soup which was thick and stretchy (not a soup) and tasted overly sweet like dessert, with strips of fish stick. Absolutely inedible. The proprietor should be ashamed of producing such rubbish. One star is too many. The other food king prawn chow mein, shrimp fried rice, monks vegetables were savoury but bland and arguably worth one star. I will not buy from this place again.

Probably the worst Chinese I've ever had!! Made me feel sicky eating it!!! Gaggggggggy

Ordered on the “hub” Waited over hour and a half for delivery when called to see where it was the staff were very rude apparently it was still going to be over half hour before we would get it. Refund will take 3-5 days Terrible service

Moved into the area 2 days ago, thought we would check out the local Chinese, bitterly disappointed. Firstly the food took 2 hours to arrive, when it did finally arrive it was inedible. Sweet chilli beef was so tough you couldn’t get your teeth through it, the squid was soggy and chewy and there was nothing “crispy” about the duck at all either. All of it tasted like it was cooked 3 days ago. Will not be ordering ever again ZERO STARS.

Over 1 - 1/2 hrs late for delivery and when we called them just excuse after excuse no apology food was cold and very poor quality, please don’t waist your money.

Poor. Delivered on time but food wasn t hot. Hardly any chicken in the chow mein. Used to be good but gone downhill. Won't take credit card now and if ordered online every item is more expensive

Just moved to the village and tried out the Golden Havest. Very tasty food freshly cooked with friendly staff. Will definitely be going back Beware their card machine isn't working so its cash only for phone and shop purchases. You can still pay by card online

Placed an order, waited ages, only to be eventually told they’d cancelled our order because they ‘didn’t have any drivers’.

I'm sad to say i would give this place zero stars for the food if possible as its the worst Chinese take away i have had kung-po chicken more like sweet & sour egg fried rice think they forgot the egg beef curry could have been beef stew what more is there to say even my dogs turned there nose up and walked away and anyone who rates it good must have no taste buds or don't know good chinese food, this i write coming from a Chinese family please be warned and the atmosphere rating was n/a

Food was good and portions generous. Nice balance between acidity and sweetness in the sweet and sour sauce with large pieces of pineapple and vegetables. Wife and son happy with their food too, they had the Singapore noodles and Chicken satay ,respectively. Staff were friendly and efficient, food was prepared quickly. Feel like we must have been at a different place having read some of the other reviews. Definitely one of the better Chinese takeaways we have tried.

Ordered through just eat with golden harvest, the food was absolutely amazing it was the best we had for ages! The service was fast and fantastic, they forgot to put a sauce in our order so they sent it out straight away someone to come back with a pot of sauce we live 10mins away. Honestly the food the was amazing! We’ve had bad experiences with this restaurant in the past but it’s really surprised us tonight how good it was! Thank you for a lovely meal! X

Ordered a family meal tonight spending just over £65, ensuring to leave enough time to arrive as guests had nightshifts to get to. Order placed at 18:50, phoned to check on our order at 20:20 as it was running late and lady said it won’t be long, had to phone again after 30 minutes to finally cancel and refund our order with our guests going without. Then having being recalled soon after saying the delivery is just down the road if we pay half the price, for 2 hours late and having our guests already left we declined this offer. Totally unacceptable and very disappointed with the service. Will not be using again

Fast service. But food isn't good. Chicken tasted like it was re heated. Nothing had any taste. Food was delivered at 515pm so should be one of the first order so should be freshly cook.

Shouldn’t comment like this but still thought to share my review for the people ordering food after scrolling all this comment, I wish they shouldn’t disappointed. Can say that’s it’s not worth for the money and disgusting

I'm not sure what's going on with this place but some of the worst Chinese food I've ever tried tasted burnt it wasn't so I think it was the oil that was really bad tasting food would never chance again 3 of my kids were sick after eating it and mine and my wife's stomachs were doing somersaults bad hygiene too I was a worker pick his nose right I front of us then served someone their food with washing his hands from nose picking

Ordered at 5.30pm, an hour and 10 mins later I called back, it’s on its way so within 5 minutes I was told. We waited another 30 minutes and called again, ‘it’s on its way’. When I questioned this as it’s what I’d been told half hour previously, he said yes it’s on route. When I asked if they could ring the driver, I was told they didn’t have a number for them, but pressing further it was a member of the kitchen staff, so yet another lie. I was then told that they hadn’t done the order and had now cancelled it. Nearly two hours after ordering, we now have to make other plans and told it would be a day or two before my money would be returned to my card 😡😡😡. Absolute joke. Do not go near them!

I did my order online, I have received it in time. We did not eat good Chinese quite a long time now. We were satisfied with this, the hot and sour soup was how it should be and the rest of the food too. We will certainly order again.

Food was nice but had a bad experience from the driver. Sent (what looked like) his daughter to the door. We didn’t hear the doorbell so she was waiting for a couple of minutes max. We have a ring doorbell so we heard what was said outside. The driver himself began to shout and moan about how we hadn’t answered the door yet and moaned because there was no apology from ourselves for making her wait. I’d understand if it was a very long wait but it wasn’t. Driving jobs aren’t difficult so I don’t understand why he was so rude about it.

Had a take away. Was so disappointed in the black bean and beef. To be honest it looked and tasted like it was beef in normal gravy. Other food we ordered was alright but nothing special. Wont be ordering again

Has completely gone downhill. They’ve shrunk the portion sizes of the rice, the Thai chicken was watery and full of sugar. We’ve stopped ordering from the Harvest. Fei’s in Coggeshall is so much nicer!!

This take away is always busy, hidden off the high street with terrible parking. There are a number of ways to order, phone, online app or in person. I have used to app which gives you a time for collection, although this is usually wrong and whatever you do, don’t question this with the front of house as you will get a volley of abuse. I have used this take away a number of times and although the food is not bad, it’s the customer service which is appalling. Every visit I have been subject to an angry and rude response for asking on waiting times. I have also heard the female at the front of house speak to others on the phone with the same tone. Terrible way to operate and frankly has made a number of people go elsewhere. In conclusion, food not bad but terrible customer service, the worse I’ve ever experienced at a take away.

2 hours and ten minutes since ordering and still waiting. When called staff had no idea when or if it had left. On a positive the nice girl on the reception desk has just rang to ask if we had received the food and would chase it up. Hope it is warm when it gets here.

If l could have given no stars l would.Food arrived over an hour late, barely warm, tasteless, poor quality. The food was almost inedible most went into food bin. Unfortunately, took so long to come too late to arrange alternative food delivery. Haven't ordered from this chinese for sometime as last experience over 2 years ago extremely poor. Will never use again, definitely would not recommend total waste of money. Apologies to friends for such disgusting food.

Just had the most disgusting Chinese takeaway we've ever had .we ordered crispy aromatic duck which was stone cold, with chowmein ,curry and spicy chips. Chowmein was cold and totally flavourless

I have used this takeaway for decades. Not anymore. food average, Trying to turn car around to get out, nightmare! Only sign says No Parking Keep area clear, where everyone for years have used to turn round. Now, without any form of notification, their delivery drivers block. The parking is also shared with a fish and chip shop, so if there are cars also parked for that, the only way is to illegally back out onto a main road. These people do not possess the common sense they were born with!

Tasty food always freshly cooked and not rubbery either. Staff helpful and able to produce what you require!

Took 1hour 30 minutes to arrive then they got the order wrong warm at best taste well not good phoned to complain got told they cant deliver the correct order as to busy offered 20%off next order there wont be one may as well put money in the bin

Food is always great, service is good too..

We have been regular customer's of the Golden Harvest and have been for many years. Sadly of late we have noticed that the food quality has deteriorated and the portion sizes have deminished. To add to this when we ordered this evening we were told that we would have a one hour wait, in fact it told two hours from time of order until delivery "ridiculous'. Upon delivery and after the long wait I struggle to rate the food as average. We normally spend between £45 to £50 on our orders, but sadly tonight will be our last order we will be placing with Golden Harvest, will visit the Lucky Star or the Jubilee instead.

Service took a while but good food, great portions and prices. Five spice chips were great.

Amazing food. By far the best Chinese we have had and they even delivered to the lake we were fishing at. I can see why there phone was engaged and took a while to get through. Shame we don’t live close enough for home delivery as would be our new Chinese take away. Might have to drive and collect myself lol.

First arrived 40 minutes late and was like warm Satay chicken was which and watery with no flavour, chicken yellow bean again was very watery and very bland, chilli beef was awful and soggy and could tell it was cheap chilli sauce used which was more like vinegar. Did complain via messenger as couldn’t get through on the phone but no response even though it shows as read. One of the worst meals I have ever had. Shame as a few people had said they gotten better but this obviously isn’t the case. £30 that went straight in the bin and ended up eating beans on toast.

Very disappointed in our meal, the beef and broccoli was tasteless and the sauce was bland, the prawn toast was dripping in oil, lemon chickentastelss and ribs were thought a lot of money to bin.

Terrible food & terrible service. From the moment we placed our order the lady on the phone was rude & condescending (when I asked for no veg or beansprouts she replied beansprouts are veg), made a fuss about finding our address as we were staying in a holiday cabin... Items were missing & wrong dishes were sent. When we called up to tell them we were told by the rude lady that she was a chef and that it was the correct dish (for anyone wanting the Thai basil and chilli dish FYI it is sweet and sour NOT Thai basil chilli) food was luke warm when delivered, tasteless and very disappointing.

worst takeaway we have ever had, should of taken it back and got a refund, bland food, chewy chicken balls, curry has no flavour, and menu's stuck all over kitchen windows to hide whats going on, wont be rushing back in a hurry.

Hard to find in a back yard off the main road but well worth the search. Nice and clean and polite staff quickly got our order ready. When we got back to the caravan we tucked into a delicious meal of good portion size.

It’s always good and way better than the warmed up food in the other place. The two complaining that it’s bland must have ordered chips or something as you select right and it works. Crispy duck done very well also.
