Golden Gate in Stockport

Chinese food superb but sadly the chips were hard and spoilt the meal 😕 hope they weren't warmed from lunch time, if so it doesn't work.

Salt n pepper wings must of been a week old burnt dried up chips n curry small trey and the price you pay 20 quid for oroble wings n 3 chips n curry disgusting never again and the cheek of it cash only this country will be on its knees soon

Great chippy and Chinese takeaway. We've been going for 30 years - there isn't a better one in the Stockport area.

The fish and chip side of this business is excellent and have used it for 20 years or more when it was based on Councillor Lane, Cheadle but the last 2 visits when I had Chinese meal was very disappointing.a large chips seemed small compared to regular size, and the amount of meat in my chow main dish was small, and not good value for money. Will now only use for f and chips

Best Chinese/chippy by a mile. Would highly recommend. We’ve been going there for the last 10 years and never had any reason to complain,the barbecue spare ribs are the best ever and you get that many they can’t close the lid!! Forget all the other rip off Chinese takeaways and go to Golden Gate.

Good honest chippy! Much better than the ones you get around didsbury and reasonably priced. Fish always taste fresh and I love their chips with curry sauce. I’ve also tried some of the chinese food and enjoyed that too. They always have customers here so you know you’ve found a good one.

This is the worst Chinese meal I have ever tasted. Threw most of it in the bin. It was recommended but certainly did not live up to expectations. The black bean sauce was glupey and thick. The prawn toast was greasy with very few prawns. A very disappointing meal 🙁

Prefect place for those chippy nights. The chips are the best I've found in the area, the service is quick and friendly, shame they don't deliver but worth it.

Consistently excellent fish & chips cooked to perfection and served efficiently by friendly helpful staff.

Tried here by chance as working next door....this is takeaway only serving chippy at lunchtime and Chinese in addition in the evening. We ordered Szechuan chicken, which was absolutely beautiful, very tasty with a kick and plenty of sauce, meat and veg, sundries are ordered separately, the fried rice was fresh and not gritty as with some takeaways, the portion of mushrooms were the nicest we ve ever had. The food was piping hot, even after our 15 minute drive home. Well worth telephoning an order through as it’s very busy and does not do delivery. We can’t wait to try another dish.

Had a bit of lunch today and went for the chips and curry. The lady when asked told me it was home made Chinese curry ?? So I went for that. To be honest is wasn’t the best so my friend went for the chips and gravy and that was fantastic the gravy tasted so good. It’s up to you but try the gravy that’s what I’ll be getting the next time I call in.

Hands down the BEST chippy in the area. The most friendly staff and brilliant service! I really wouldn’t go anywhere else. A full Chinese & chippy menu for your eating pleasure.
