Golden Fry in Sunderland

Do not get anything delivered from this place there is always something missing from the order, it is always late and cold and when you phone up to tell them your order is wrong their attitude is terrible.

Used to use this place but got wrong order then a fned proper attitude on fne said wud take ages nope they r a disgrace 0 from me staff disgrace and owners nope nope nope

Prices have gone up and food quality not as good as it was

As always it's a pleasure to order food from here always fresh salad and the fish and kebabs are first class

Not worth a star at all, I need not say anything as the reviews speak for themselves, too pricey and less food which tastes like rubber. Will avoid from now on!

Don't order from here ever. Been ordering from here for years and past 2 times they have come Cold, late and food was horrible avoid like the plague

Didn't even bother finishing with my order on the phone. The guy sounded sick of his life and like it was a hassle to speak to me, so told him it doesn't matter hung up and orderd from dillons in thorny close. Don't know if it was the owner on the phone or what, but whoever it was needs to be less miserable when speaking to customers. I'm not the first person to say they were not feeling the vibe from this place. I ignored these comments and thought I'd order tonight. Well the comments were not wrong infact there was accurate. I won't be ordering again from here so congratulations to the guy on the phone.

Great food super fast delivery on time

Ordered food at 9 o clock Over phone, was told around 40 mins! It got to 10:45 I thought It had been a while maybe they forgot and it had shut at half ten. so received no food, fuming is an understatement

We both fancied sharing a mixed souvlaki and a tomato garlic bread. Golden fry was always known for their amazing souvlaki and unfortunately we were left disappointed. The size has shrunk and the doner meat was not the best at all and not much chicken! The garlic sauce and hot (and very spicy) chili sauce was lovely but not sure we will go again for the souvlaki. Plus side was plenty of tomato paste on the garlic bread so that was delicious. For a take away which used to be amazing, it's now just bang average and expensive!

Pizza tasted of dirty oil don't know how. Chips were so dry. We will never go there again

Food was rank, cold and hard. Paper stuck to the chips and the sausage was undercooked. Onion Gravy rank and cold Price is way too high to justify that rubbish. Dog food probably a better choice. But then again it's probably on par it was that bad

Worst service I have ever received shouted at and had to wait 15 minutes to get served then told they can’t hear and walked off and asked why I’m not listening to the fact they can’t hear me

No atmosphere. Not friendly ordered fish chips.time got home chips were disgusting.

Solvalaki was terrible. Kaba meat was feom last Julember and the wrap was made for a borrow ans tasted like cardboard, Garlic sauce was the only thing qhich was nice the food was cold. Website also needs updating for times. Let us order and pick a time to collect when the place wasn't open upon calling they weren't bother and kind of just shrugged there shoulders.

Ordered a mixed kebab...chips and salad with a CARTON of garlic and a CARTON of chilli...when opening there was no cartons of anything and garlic all over the kebab I carnt eat garlic that's why I ask for it separately as that was for my partner and the chilli for me.. the chips shouldn't be fed to a any children under the age of 3 and should come with a choking hazard..as there just hard sharp bits of potato..the chicken tikka is questionable..and the kebab meat is wafer thin... so the lot went in the bin...I should have learnt my lesson after the last time ordering as that order was also wrong...give them a one star because I couldn't comment with no stars

After using this fish shop a good few times i will not be ordering anymore. I ordered fish, chips and curry sauce along with 3 bottles of pop. The order arrived friendly driver. The meal was tasteless the fish was really greasy, the curry sauce was like water and some of the chips were not cooked properly absolutely dissapointed as it is not cheap.

Ordered a chicken & garlic pizza which was burnt & dripping in grease, the chips were disgusting they looked like they'd been warmed up several times and the garlic dip l ordered turned out to be mint! Never again. 🤮🤮

Ordered delivery tonight, said it would be 1 hour, 1 hour and 40mins finally arrived, ordered 2 pizzas and 1 chips, 2 pizzas and 2 chips arrived, paid for a bag of chips I did not order but just as well they sent 2 as they were only a very small bag, chips were luke warm and so was the pizza, first and last time I will order a take away from golden fry

Got my son a kids meal, fish fingers and chips. The fish fingers looked absolutely disgusting. They were burnt and rock hard.

Suvolaki's are the best from here, always has been! Pizzas are spot on - infact we've never had anything bad from this place and we've been going here for years 👍

Food was really tasty, pizza and souvlaki delicious, sauces, salad and chips were great, would have been a 4 or 5 if they hadn’t have forget the chicken in my mixed souvlaki and I found it a little overpriced at £19 for a pizza and a souvlaki.

Female member very sharp and rude. No please No Thankyou. chips where scraps very bland.. ended cooking my own food. Waste of money...... Never again

Try this shop after good quality reviews but there was rude person lady on front of the shop think she can make her own rules the food was under cooked and had to pay for chilli tub after I told her I'm from Birmingham and will probably come back.but no good.

Used to come here often a few years ago for their kebabs they used to taste like lamb with really nice garlic and chilli sauce, got one tonight and it tasted more like sausage meat, the chilli sauce that came with it was a teaspoon so I couldn't taste it, the garlic sauce was ok but cost another £1:20! It wasn't in a polystyrene carton so backseat in the car was covered in red cabbage juice! For a top price kebab £7:80 I will not be going back

I usually order kebab and garlic bread from this takeaway..and the kebab is always hot enough to eat and garlic bread is just the same, wonderful food and hot....well done staff..best takeaway around sunderland.

Got my order wrong, started shouting at me for no reason

Having used this shop for the last 10yr can say this will be my last. Delivery last week 1hr 30mins This week 1hr 50 mins after having been quoted 45mins don’t mind shops putting prices up in the current climate approx £1 min per pizza, but the standard of food has reduced dramatically, 2x pizzas warm and soft obviously been cooked for a while and chips absolutely atrocious over cooked and burnt, I have recommended this shop to so any people over the yrs but not anymore, how can a shops quality decline so quick, luckily I can’t upload a photo of the chips

Don't order online since the timer until collection is dishonest my pizza was suppoesed to take 20 minutes, but in reality the timer was so slow that i waited 1h+ for the timer to finish. However when you go to the shop and order from there directly it takes long but nowhere close to 1h

Ignorant staff. No hello, no eye contact when taking your order, shouting at each other in a foreign language, just not a nice encounter. Food was average at best.

Really good local chippy, prices are fair given the size of the portions you get. Staff are nice and pleasant too.

Very disrespectful staff, they got my order wrong so I asked them politely to change it and they said no so I asked for a refund and they also said no, i asked them why and they said I had a attitude problem and to get out. Very rude!!! Would not recommend at all, would never go back 😡

Workers were rude and disrespectful they got our order wrong and refused to change and correct it. The workers screamed at us for asking to correct it and then told us to get out . If it was possible to give then 0 stars I would . Would NEVER recommend this to anyone. Will NOT BE GOING THERE AGAIN!!!!

We have been going to this place for the past ten years and never had a bad experience, I can honestly say it is the cleanest fish shop. I am on my way for another fish supper now and I am sure I will not be dissapointed.

Possibly the worst chippy in Sunderland. £1.80 for large chips that weren't enough for a chip butty. This place used to be OK but I won't be returning.

iv never had a smaller kabab deliverd in my life no worth half the money never again.
