Golden Fish in Great Yarmouth

Ordered a delivery from here while on holiday in the area, (menu left outside caravan) food arrived early and piping hot. The food was brought direct to our caravan. Food was delicious and well worth the money, will certainly order again when back in the area

Gravy was the most bland tasting gravy I have ever tried, glad I tasted it before pouring it over my chips which to be honest tasted like warmed up frozen chips. Glad I am only in the area for a holiday as I won't ever be coming back

Funny little place in the middle of nowhere. but decent food at a decent price. 2 of us had a Chinese meal and 1 had fish and chips. Worth a visit

We're staying in a holiday park and were worried about ordering delivery in case they wouldn't be able to find us easily. But ordering online was so easy and after placing the order there was even an option to drop a pin to your exact location so they could find you easily. The lady who delivered the food was really friendly as well. And the food itself was delicious! The Malaysian satay was to die for! Thank you very much :)

Don't let the appearance fool you. We ate here as it was convenient to where we were staying on holiday. Two ordered Chinese food and two ordered fish & chips. Both meals were excellent. Decent portions, hot and good quality...

As expected, quick collection (10 minutes) only issue was No.92B the Black bean sauce was very watery.

On holiday here and this was the closest Chinese to us so thought let’s give it’s a go. Great price, great food, lovely service and big portions. Don’t be put off by the appearance of the shop as it’s in a dusty carpark that looks like a mot shed. But by far top notch food Definitely be using again. When we return for another holiday. Ordered online and picked up and it was bang on time too.

Ordered for delivery to Yare Village Breydon Water. Arrived on time and very hot. Best Chinese i have had in a long time.

We ordered enough for 4 as a group of adults. Food came in 7 minutes as we ordered it as delivery to Breydon Water caravan park. Food was nice when we ate it but 2/4 people who ate the shrimp fried rice were violently sick the next day. Vomiting and diarrhoea. Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. Not worth the pain!

Looks like a run down shack ,but got a delivery ,arrived quick ,fantastic food ,hot tasty ,I've got to say it is the best Chinese food I have had in a long time ,I don't normally write reviews but felt I needed to this time, don't be put off by the look of the outside .

Worst Chinese meal I have ever had, smelt fusty,only managed a couple of mouthfuls, fried rice tasted like the days before,the shop looks like it could do with a deep clean, there is a florescent light fitting above a disused chip frier it should be white, it was brown on the bulb part, and the fitting was grime, the menu frame was full of grease and dust, and basically run down. all in all a bad experience.

Good quality food. The crispy beef was excellent. The battered pawns were tasty and fresh. Great pancake roll with loads of prawns. We ordered about 8 different dishes. I'm really fussy but this food was all round really good.

Have not visited for a while, popped across today and enjoyed pa great, tasty meal. Had rice with meat and Prawn which has delicious and tasted so fresh. The owners were very friendly, I ordered on the internet, it only took 10 minutes to be prepared. Definitely returning soon. 8

We were in Great Yarmouth for Oct wk end, once again had a takeaway from “ Golden fish” As usual excellent!!! Chicken curry had loads of big lumps of chicken, chowmein, chicken fried rice so tasty!! We look forward to this twice a year,

When visiting this evening I asked the lovely lady behind the counter what was gluten free on their menu and she was very helpful and recounted everything they made and even asked the chef if she was unsure which was a comfort. I'd definitely order from here again as the food is delicious.

Ordered via website and chose to pick up as only staying across the road at Kingfisher Holiday Park. Order was large so was expecting a wait but it was ready quite quickly, reasonable price and two free bags of prawn crackers. Food was hot when we got back to holiday abode, 6 of us had plenty of food and it was very tasty. The assorted battered balls were extremely good and batter was crispy. Sauces were in larger containers than we are mormally used to, and was very tasty. All good and would recommend.

Had a take away..food very hot (temperature) so that's always a plus by me! The taste was good but it was a bit 'grey' in colour..maybe no additives I dont know but just didnt have strong vibrant colour that most Chinese food has. The noodle dish was not as expected or how we have crispy noodles down south.. other than that. All good

Ordered from here good Friday, Food was nice & sizes was ok. Price a little dear but that's normal for holiday area's. Collected was ready in 20 mins.

Not the best but not.the worst either. Looks quite a bit dated and in need of some tlc. Worst part was waiting for our order . Nothing extravagant just fish and chips , maybe they are quicker with the Chinese food. Another customer actually had to ask how long as the poor lady had stated she'd already waited 20 mins . On returning to our van fish and chips were OK enough for what we paid . Staff pleasant enough. The English delivery driver does a good job with helping them out . She knows her stuff so credit to her . Unfortunately not a lot at all in burgh castle to choose from..

Avoid! If I could give zero stars…! At least 20% more expensive than our local Chinese and over half the portion size. Throw in a burnt taste, greasy and weird flavours and you just feel well and truly ripped off!

Lovely food. We had sweet and sour prawns Hong Kong style and Kung Po chicken. Large portions and good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent.

Went here as I was we were staying in the Breydon "Holiday village" and the food prices there were overpriced for mostly heated up food. The pancake rolls here were very, very greasy indeed and we were glad we had towels to hand to mop the grease after every bite. The chips were ok but I won't take them home to see my mother at any point. The mushroom curry was tasteless and more like mushrooms in brown stuff. The staff who took my order was nice and polite. The place itself looks like a run down truckers greasy spoon cafe. If I had to make the voice between the caravan park food and this Chinese I would probably still go for here so it's a bit of a toss up whatever you decide to do.

Popped in as the food at the local camp site was way too expensive and dire. The grass is not always greener on the other side. The. Crispy pancake rolls were so full of grease, very unpleasant indeed. My chips were good in portion size and just ok in taste. My curry was so, so bland and had very little flavour indeed. The staff were nice and polite. The place needs a bit of attention as it does look like a truckers greasy spoon.

Wonderful food, hot and very tasty. Well worth a visit. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Menu was easy to read and order from. Very impressed. In a word "YUM"!! Myself and my friend was staying near by and fancied a Chinese. We wasn't dissappointed. Plenty of well cooked food at a reasonable price.

My order was delivered in good time , but sadly i didn't eat much as the beef in the chow mein was dry and tough and the chow mein was mush. The curry sauce was like unset jelly. The only thing that was ok was the chips but how hard is it to fry frozen chips. Won't use again...

Staff nice but food not nice, stayed at a holiday park nearby and this was the closest place, the place looks very run down inside and out and not nice to pull into as the car park is in need of some tlc, (it also says it’s a fish and chips aswel I don’t know how as it so chinesey inside), only ordered 2 rices as a late night snack and I’m glad that’s all we ordered as they looked ok but when ate they tasted like they were cooked in a rotten dirty frying pan, of which, had a dirty smell along with it.

Was apprehensive because of the mixed reviews however, it was AMAZING! We ordered the Peking Crispy Beef, Chicken Chow Mein, a combination meal (sweet and sour hong kong style, barbecue ribs and fried noodles), vegetable spring rolls and prawn crackers. Portion sizes were great for the price and the food was hot, with plenty of meat and veg. The is the best Chinese I have ever had. The delivery was also brilliant, they brought it direct to our caravan!

Firstly, I never complain or provide bad reviews, but this is the exception. I had the cod fish and chips tonight. I was a bit worried the food may not be entirely up to scratch due to the shop being grubby and I could smell the oil was ‘old’. The meal was absolutely disgusting!!! The chips had been refried, hard and were incredibly greasy. The batter was greasy too and stuck to the roof of my mouth and the fish was not fresh at all. I literally could not eat it. I am appalled that anyone could produce that type of food and happily pass it over the counter. Needless to say I would not recommend this establishment

During our holiday, one night we decided that we fancied a Chinese. We knew we had passed one while out and luckily someone in the past had taken a photo so we were able to get the name! We then Googled it to obtain a menu and did find one, although it was not the best of easiest to read! So we decided what we all wanted, with backups just in case and then my wife and I drove down. It is only a small place but there is parking. Inside we were able to place our order straight away with 2 people waiting before us. The menu is very substantial and I think they actually offer everything possible and then some. They are also open 7 days a week and offer delivery with a charge depending on distance. We waited about 20 mins for our order and were also given a free bottle of pepsi and prawn crackers. When we returned to our van with the 5 meals, everything was there that we ordered and was very hot so you could tell it has just been cooked! The portion sizes were extremely good and the food excellent. There was no food left at all, not even a grain of rice; however, there were bones left from the ribs!!!😜 After finishing and cleaning up, we discovered they are on Just Eat ... So we could have looked at the menu on there easily, but never mind!!! 💯% recommend this place for food, as mentioned above, quality, portion size, temperature etc. was fantastic!!! ... A must have

Ordered chicken curry, mushroom fried rice, beef chow mein with scampi and chips (not all for me). Very nice, everyone was happy with their choices.

Had takeaway from here last week as it’s the only food outlet nere the hoilday camp so tried it food was ok but the place it self smells of old cooking oil but ok

The golden fish is my favourite chinese take away. Friendly staff and great food . Their pancake rolls are unbelievably good, so large and full. I have never had a bad meal from them.

We were holidaying nearby so gave it a look. Personally I was totally unimpressed. The curry was flavourless.the beef was Chewy and the rice stodgy and sticky. Would not return. Our friends enjoyed their chow main though and the staff were friendly.

Ordered fish & chips as that's what we fancied. Was told half hour wait after our money was taken. Fish was surprisingly good after reading some reviews, however chips let it down in a big way. Not traditional chip shop or Chinese takeaway chips more like undercooked oven chips, so bit disappointing overall. Would return to try the Chinese next time but definitely avoid the chips with anything.

Stayed at haven wild duck, decided to get a chinese and picked these guys, was so good we had it again 2 days later... probably the best chinese I've ever had

Went here twice while staying at the nearby Cherry Tree holiday park. We had fish and chips one night and Chinese food the other. Big portions and great tasting food. We picked the fish and chips up ourselves and the Chinese meal was delivered right to our caravan door. Great service.

Never visit here,the food is disgusting i spent £30 and had to throw the food away.The cod was slimy,chips were hard and tasted strange,chicken nuggets also tasted strange.I would not want any one else to waste there money.

We ordered portions of chips on a Saturday evening and although you may be an amazing Chinese as a chip shop you definitely fall short. My son who is a vegetarian also found a piece of chicken ball in his portion!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably the worst chips I've ever had, presume they were cooked from frozen. Seriously overcooked dark brown and tasted burnt. Very small portion too for the price. Fish was better, but not good. Very disappointed after waiting for nearly an hour to receive our order. If you want fish and chips, go elsewhere.

We remember this chippy from the 1980s when we stayed sat Burgh Castle Marina. Delivery service to the caravan on Cherry Tree was excellent for Chinese, didn't bother with their fish & chips as they only do cod.

Sign outside claims it's also a fish a chip shop. Ordered fish and chips for whole family, no salt and vinegar, no sauce and chips way to crispy and overcooked. Won't be using it again

As we were staying on a park nearby we thought we'd give them a try, we did have to wait for 15 mins but when the food came out freshly cooked and piping hot we didn't mind. The food was beautifully cooked, the chicken was moist and soft and covered in a sauce full of flavour and I've never had a more tasty satay chicken on skewers, it was amazing. There was plenty of food for all the family and nothing was wasted. I might get another sneaky one in before going home,

Used this takeaway twice whilst on holiday in a nearby park (yare village parkdean) and was fantastic, really fresh food and superb tasting. Far far better than the on site "restaurant" my favourite from this takeaway was the house special fried rice in black bean sauce. Honestly just order that if your hungry and want a great tasting, big portion Chinese meal it's honestly the best I've had. Only downside is we are going home tommorow and won't get to experience it again :( Thankyou Golden Fish. Brilliant.

I had ordered from the Golden Fish many years ago and it was dreadful. I was advised that there had been a owner change and that I should give them a go. I am very glad I did. The food was extremely tasty and delivery was timely. I strongly recommend that if like me you have had a previously poor experience, please give the new owners a chance to rewrite the past - give them your support. You won’t be sorry!

This in my opinion is the best Chinese takeaway on the east cost, I live in Ipswich and I've tried them all. When I come to my caravan I order extra to take home. A little more expensive than Ipswich but well worth it. Staff excellent and friendly. Try it and see. Mr King.

I decided to give this place a try as we have a holiday home close by. We went once before before the new management took over but were none too keen and used a place in Great Yarmouth instead. Jackpot, the food was very good, very reasonably priced and the young couple running it were nice and friendly. The pork balls were all meat inside, no fat and the chicken rice tasty. Should save us on the mileage.

We are staying just down the road and decided as it was raining to have a Chinese takeaway. There was only one person in there so I was served first but it took 25 minutes to cook and we only had the meal for 2, B which wasnt very much. At hone our Chinese takes about 10 minutes and double the portion. The friend rice was more boiled rather than fried and was so over cooked it was like mashed potato and bland. The sweet and sour sauce had lumps and the pork balls tasted strange, the pork inside was dark and over cooked although the chow mein wasnt too bad. However although i didn't eat very much I was sick right after finishing. Not sure why but I think it was the pork balls. We will not be going again. Someone on our site said they had fish and chips but the chips were frozen and not nice and neither was the fish but I don't think they use the chip fryer in the front of the shop as it didn't look like ut had been used for a long time. When I left there were about 8 people waiting and none had been before so wonder how long they waited. The 2 people serving, one was a school girl of about 12/13, also seemed to get the orders wrong when they repeated them to the customers.

Oh my goodness we are over full n over the moon very well priced huge portions so so tasty we can't remember eating a nicer takeaway thank you so much we will be back time n time again xxx

I'll give 2stars for fast service but... really disappointed with "plain" taste. portions was good but we ended up throwing half of it away. glad it was only one time holiday treat but wouldn't go back there.

Looks very tired and a bit rough to be honest. Ordered never the less for our family of 4. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Portions were very generous and reasonably priced. Really tasty food and we were all very impressed with our meals. Would definitely visit again and recommend.

Very dated looking premises, in an unexpected location ! Must have been a chippy once upon a time though it looks years since the (camouflaged) antique fryer has been used.That said it was recommended to us and we were told it had changed hands since the negative reviews online had been left. We had food for 4 and it was all delicious with good size portions at a reasonable price.Don't let appearances put you off..... give it a try!

Mon-Sun ,except Tuesday . 5-10-30pm and open bank holidays ,delivery for small charge . Seems Google says they are permantly closed when they aren't it's a blip but definitely open .
