Golden Fish in Norwich

Although it's called the Golden Fish it serves Chinese Food. We were staying nearby in a Houseboat, we rang in our order and collected it 15 minuts later. The food was really good, plenty of meat in the mixed chop suey and mixed sweet and sour. Large portions too. A delicious meal.

We have been using this Chinese regularly for over a year now and we have never had a bad meal, everything is fresh, hot and delicious, lovely staff and can highly recommend

Thought we’d try out this Chinese as it’s much more local. Placed the order over the phone, the lady was very friendly and checked the order and told me the price. She said the order would be ready in 20mins. I arrived just after 5 and the order was ready and waiting for me. Food was piping hot, much less greasy than other Chinese takeaways and very tasty. Will definitely be going back here!

Lady serving us was super friendly, how order was cooked speedily and was still hot and delicious when we got home. Nice we could wait inside with our golden pooch who was quite a hit with the staff 😊 Thank you

Said they had no noodles then that it would take 20mins extra to cook some. Gave myself and my friend severe food poisoning. Won't be back.

Delicious food, good value and amazing customer service from the young man taking the orders. So polite, thoughtful and very professional- a credit to him and his family

Disgraceful. We ordered special fried rice and two crispy duck with pancakes. The rice was just about acceptable but the duck pancakes were almost inedible. So overcooked you could not tell it was duck, it was like eating pork scratchings as well as being small portions. We would have returned it but live 4 miles away. Very poor, I can’t believe the chef thought it was acceptable to send food out like that. Very disappointing.

Great takeaway, all the dishes were really enjoyable. Quick service we phoned the order for four through and it was ready in 20mins

Absolutely fantastic Chinese food , tasty excellent quality, huge portions and reasonably priced. Best Chinese I’ve had from a takeaway. Friendly staff. Shame it’s not my local.

Best Chinese take away I’ve ever had, staff were lovely and accommodating to our requests for some of the foods. Chicken was beautiful and had so much flavour. Everything was cooked perfectly and nothing greasy at all. Would recommend this place 10 times over. So worth it Definitely recommend the salt and pepper chips, salt and pepper flavour on chip shop chips are amazing! They did so well will definitely be back🤍

Rubbish food tasteless wouldn't use it again while these people have it, plenty of others close to me that sell better food.

The food is always excellent, very extensive menu. Phoned ahead and order was ready on time. Prices have recently gone up but is still good value.

Visited this takeaway whilst on holiday. We placed a large order for 8 people and were unanimous in agreeing that this was the best Chinese food we had ever eaten. The food was freshly cooked, hot and flavoursome. Can't wait to visit again

I was stood Eating our lunch with my children, surrounded by many other families at the side of another business near to the golden fish. There is an opening where business owners can drive through to park behind there shops, the lady who owns the golden fish proceeded to drive through and instead of politely asking people to move, proceeded to shout at full volume- F***in move, F***in move now, wa****kers. In the very short time she gave us we proceeded to move out of her way, she had plenty of room but if not confident i could see the issue, there was two gentlemen who were relatively rude who didn’t help the situation, but were not with us. After she had got through the chaps had walked away and whilst my children finished eating there lunch she proceeded to get out her car and shout at us, calling my 15 year old son a big fat F***kin W***ker. After knocking him out the way with her car. Apparently it happens quite frequently. At this point i walked over to her and said please do not hurl abuse at my son he is 15 and has done nothing wrong. To be told to F***k off big fat W***ker multiple times at full volume until everyone at all the surrounding businesses including all young families could hear her. She told us never to visit wroxham again to f**k off and dont come back. I then tried to say i had tried to diffuse the situation with the two chaps, and could understand her frustration and that we were not with them but she just hurled more abuse at me. Lots of other local business told me she is often the same. Not good news for wroxham, my family often visit wroxham when in norfolk but i am in no rush to return. It also does not surprise me they have relatively bad reviews. Doubtful they will get any better or for the surrounding business when one talks to people like that. There is a way to ask people and treat people. That was not the way. It left my youngest rather shaken so we left wroxham immediately. As we passed the shop she gave me and my family the dirtiest of looks. My advise- take a wide berth.

Rang up to order and lady was very pleasant. We ordered at 7.40 and collected at 8.00 food was hot and very good. We ordered a set meal for 3 people but there were four of us and even though we are all good eaters there was still some left as we were full!

Have just had our first chinese food delivery, everything was piping hot, excellent tasty food, delivery was at the time we were told it would be delivered when booking, excellent safe distancing from friendly delivery driver, would highly recommend, food, delivery and service throughout, Thank you, will be ordering again soon

Tuvimos dos comidas chinas, una mezcla agridulce y una mezcla de Chop Suey. El agridulce obviamente acababa de verter la salsa sobre el contenido, ya que no había cubierto las carnes en algunos lugares. Porque parte de la carne que se veía a través de la masa era de color gris. Al comerlo, tuve la impresión de que parte de la carne se había calentado ayer, estaba muy duro. Hubo algunas cosas buenas: los langostinos parecían frescos y sabrosos. Para el chop Suey, era de un color rosa y sabía a salsa de tomate, algo inusual para este plato.Entonces, lo comí y no sufrí efectos nocivos, creo que si estuviera buscando comida para llevar la próxima vez en Wroxham, lo probaría en otro lugar.

Sorprendido por otras críticas, pero tuvimos una gran comida china allí. Estaban muy ocupados (6 ish) y ordenaron por teléfono que recogieran una hora más tarde. Optamos por el menú fijo para 3, que tenía una buena relación calidad-precio si mirabas lo que contenía. Toda la comida que tuvimos fue muy buena y no pudimos terminarla de una vez.Sin duda lo recomendaría y volveré a visitar cuando navegue en la zona. También hace pescado y patatas fritas, etc. pero no las probé aunque las patatas fritas son muy agradables.

I used to come here years ago and it was amazing but on this occasion all the ingredients tasted cheap and it was not worth the 10 min wait.

The service was fine but the special curry was very watery and mainly veg, nothing wrong with the chips but overall a poor meal

Dont normally review fast food takeaways but this place is so slow its pathetic. Nearly 1hr 30 to get a simple meal, advised it might be up to an hour when we ordered so turned up to collect at the 50 minute mark still haven't started the order. If it wasn't so late in the day I'd have gone elsewhere. Won't be using this place again.

Fresh and wholesome this place does what it says, fast and reasonably priced Chinese food, can't say any more

Grabbed fish and chips last night, average at best. The chips seemed like very cheap frozen ones and the fish was a bit soggy. Not great considering it was cooked fresh too...

We have just had a Chinese takeaway, we had 3 miles go home the food was delicious and piping hot, the staff were very friendly, we will certainly return and would recommend the Golden Fish.

Solía ser un cliente habitual cuando Chi y su tío dirigían este lugar. Pero anoche pensé en probar este lugar nuevamente, pero me decepcionó mucho. El pescado se pegó totalmente al papel y los chips fueron de la cocina china, no de las freidoras de pescado. ¡Patatas fritas congeladas! ! ! La masa que quedaba en el pescado estaba empapada. decided on a takeaway and visited the golden fish, very pleasant service the food was middle of the road, nothing wrong but not "wow", there was quite a wait but the prepared meal was fresh and hot so not complaining

Needed a quick feed and popped into the Golden Fish for some Chinese food. Prompt, polite service & the food that we bought was wonderful. Premises were clean which always gives a good first impression as well. Well done to the Golden Fish - we'll be back again.

Stayed in Wroxham in Oct and used the Golden Fish a couple of times. The lady on the counter service is very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. We had the mushroom foo young, beef with oyster sauce and a chicken curry, plenty of crispy chips and free prawn crackers.

Tuvimos una comida para llevar en familia y lo mucho que disfrutamos, hubo un pequeño problema con el pedido, pero estoy feliz de darle a esto un cinco. La señora también fue informada de que solo necesitábamos una salsa de curry y ella inmediatamente dijo que la tenía gratis. Mi especial era tres gambas cocidas maravillosamente, Char Sui y pollo en una deliciosa salsa. Teníamos el arroz especial de la casa y el arroz yung chau, y todos decían cuán hermosas eran sus diferentes comidas. Def recommend good portions all freshly cooked, chips nice, sweet and sour chicken balls delish, chicken in black bean sauce and chicken curry lovely Yung chow fried rice and Singapore noodles cost approx £27 Ish which was good. All tasty and brill.

the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Once upon a time they were the best in the village. The cod was not real cod, the chips were a mix of burnt chips and undercooked chips. I will never go back there again

Al quedarme en casa de mis madres, decidí probar algo y le apetecía pescado con papas fritas y me dijeron que esta comida china se lo lleva. Soy un gran fanático de las tiendas chinas de pescado y patatas fritas, ya que siempre preparan la pasta perfectamente. Sin embargo, estos no fueron buenos, las papas fritas eran delgadas y la pasta era terrible, gruesas y pastosas. Recogimos el pescado, pero no fue bueno.

Hemos estado teniendo china y el pescado y patatas fritas para muchos años. Pero esta noche fue horrible. Todas las salsas eran lo mismo en platos diferentes. Las patatas fritas patatas fritas congeladas no parecía fresco papas como las que usan. Fueron los mejores chippy en wroxham ahora no creo que me volveré que es causa pena, estaba muy bien durante años.

Parece un convencional llevar chip shop, pero no sólo tienen un completo menú chip shop, es un restaurante chino llevar así. Optamos por china en nuestra visita. el curry de ternera con arroz al huevo frito era encantadora, y había una barbaridad de pelotas dulces y amargos de pollo. Todo el mundo fue muy amable, y el servicio fue estupendo. Le agradó mucho.
