Golden Dinner in Cheshire West and Chester

So if you want a decent meal, this is the place to go.To.you must try their fish. Dinner.omg, it was perfect. The fish was proper cod great size to.the gravy was really nice, and they put plenty on, so its not dry... sweet and sour was nice to good portions,delicious is the word you must try .very friendly staff..this food is cooked in front of you .so you know it's fresh. And they dont rush .I can't wait to go again.finaly found a chippy that sells proper chips, not frozen . Thank you golden flower really enjoyed your food. Xx

Massive portion size compared to other Chinese takeaways. Tasty and hot food. The only downside is cash only, so make sure to take some with you, or you can do a bank transfer if you have no cash. Staff are fantastic and cheerful.

Superb meals, love this place. Special Chilli and Garlic is immense. Still the best Chinese Takeaway in the area. Shredded Beef....omg 👌 wow amazing.... I just wish they delivered. Never been disappointed in 26 years. Special GungPo tonight, a bit spicy but very very tasty and very enjoyable. Always get a great meal.

Terrible service. Ordered food at 7 o’clock and they said 25 minutes so went to collect it at 725! Finally got my food at 2015. Order the week before you want it

Staying at a nearby hotel with young kids on a Bank Holiday trip for Chester Zoo, we wanted something a bit different from burger and chips. Wasn’t that sure about it as it appeared to be a “chippy” from the photos but was pleasantly surprised. Masses of good quality tasty Cantonese food and didn’t cost much at all. Cash only.

I'm not one to normally leave negative reviews, however this left us with mixed views. Yes, it's Chinese in the north of England so understand they're playing to the local crowd. Problem is, the crispy beef was like eating bullets as it was so overcooked, the fried rice was seriously lacking in flavour, the shrimps in curry sauce looked more at home in a baby diaper and the Cantonese duck went to the cats, who knocked it back too. From the reviews, the locals seem to love it, but if you like more authentic dishes, not one for you...

Went at approx 5pm, ordered meal, was made quickly and staff are polite and friendly,got very busy at one point but the staff didn't mind and got everyone's order right. Would definitely recommend, amazing food and have been back since and definitely busy which always means a good chippy.

Salt and pepper wings were terrible flavour all wrong and coating not crisp. Shredded chill beef like water no thickness to sauce plate was swimming and again flavours all over the place.

Absolutely disgusting! Myself, my daughter & her partner used to use this place regularly but after Saturday 18th June 2022 we will never use it nor eat Chinese food again. We all ordered several items that we usually have, starters followed by Salt & Pepper chicken with noodles, soup, prawn toasts etc. We started on the S&P chicken and all said it tasted "fishy" so I took my piece out of my mouth & avoided it. We noticed afterwards the whole bag of food smelt fishy. I commented on how bad the noodles smelt but sometimes you just don't realise at the time that they're off. I didn't eat a great amount as usual, my daughter ate a fair few pieces of the chicken but her partner cleared his plate. Approximately 4 hours later he started with sweating, stomach cramps, chills, vomiting & then really bad diarrhoea, around 3-30 am my daughter was the same. At 4am I had to go back to their home & care for their 7mth old daughter who was awoken by them being so ill. My daughter was on the bathroom floor when I arrived & her partner was vomiting violently. 3 days later & they're still ill. It was my daughter birthday on the Sunday, 19th June & she spent it being very ill. I'm lucky I didn't eat much & apart from a bad stomach I was OK. I've reported this takeaway to the food safety agency. Eat here at your peril! It's usually busy so I can imagine we're not the only people who ate the same meal from there!

My daughter & her partner had a takeaway from here on Saturday evening, June 18th, both are currently in bed with food poisoning. Good job I was able to get to their home @ 4am Sunday, as they have a 7mth old baby they're in no fit state to care for! Shouldn't happen if your foods fresh & cooked properly!

One of the best Chinese / chip shops around Ellesmere Port. Food is always fresh and not too greasy. Pricing is fairly reasonable. Staff are always polite too customers. Shop is always clean and well maintained.

The curry sauce is so nice I order to much I’m that full I can’t eat till the next night nothing is to much for the staff extra chilli no problem extra onion no problem defo the best curry just a shame no delivery

been eating here 7 years, love duck curry there, i dont right reviews but seen steve r review and for someone who has always lived in port and ate at most chippys in port and had 100s of meals at this one, i had to write review as either steve r just a troll, or competing chippy. i suppose chance had bad meal, or his taste buds used to sweet curry , but hard to believe as i never even had bad chip in 7 years here.

Was so looking forward to experiencing the food from this joint, after reading so many positve reviews Drove 3 miles specially to go and waited 25 mins for my order which I was ok with Got it home and started tucking in and instantly threw it in the bin The curry sauce was absolutely dire and the beef I ordered was basically non existent Will never use again .. Garbage
