Absolutely shocking - told I can pay by card and then when I go to pay demands cash because they don’t accept card unless online orders. Had to reorder food via the website whilst collecting - got home and the food was cold & the taste was just unenjoyable. Waste of money. First time using this Chinese & I’m never going back - will use slow boats in future.

One of the best Chinese takeaways I have ever had in the UK. We don’t live in Keynsham anymore but still make the effort to travel down just for this takeaway. The food has so much flavour and is always made fresh. The chicken is always super tender, the vegetables are always well seasoned and the rice is well balanced. Beats M&S/Waitrose Chinese takeaway any day! Reminds me of what Chinese food tastes like back home in Canada.

Terrible experience. Would not order from here again! We ordered two basic curries with rice and it took 1 hour 50 minutes. The customer service was shockingly bad when we called to enquire about the whereabouts of our food. When the food finally arrived it wasn't particularly good. Avoid this place.

We’ve ordered a takeaway from Golden City numerous times over the past year or two, all to be delivered locally - the food has always been good but once again tonight, our takeaway is late. No matter what time we’ve requested delivery, it’s arrived over an hour late on the last few occasions. Tonight we’ve had to chase up our 7.15pm delivery and apparently it’s due to arrive nearer 9pm. Not good enough. If they can’t cope with demand, they shouldn’t accept so many orders. I’m not sure we’ll use them again unfortunately.

Very very off smelling prawns had to spit some out due to such a gone off taste. Won't be ordering again very overpriced for what we received.

Great quality Chinese food, seems all freshly prepared and prices not too bad either. So why not 5 stars? They seem to be hardly ever open for delivery! Website lets you select items then says “not available” when you try and check out. Or you call them and get a “mailbox full” automated message. If they’re open though I highly recommend!

We've never ordered from here before but after reading the reviews we decided too. I ordered the special offer of two small starters and a main - (spring rolls, BBQ Ribs and beef curry with egg fried rice) for the price of it, seemed ideal for one person. However when it arrived I had 2 very tiny gristley ribs, the egg fried rice looked and taste odd and the beef curry, I had about 6 small bits of beef with a very tiny bit of curry sauce. My Sons sausage and chips were not cooked, the chips were raw and the sausages did not taste right. So for that reason I couldn't eat mine and neither did my Son, did try and call but as we ordered rather late no one answered. The parts that we did try and eat we both had upset tummy the following morning. I don't even want a refund, just making people aware that our experience with this Chinese was awful.

I'll tell you now for any customer, the garlic butter prawns are one of the most insane meals/starters you'll ever have. The Singapore rice noodles are just what you would expect, spicy, sweet with pork, chicken and prawns just insane. Those butter prawns though just wow

2 hour and 20 minutes it took for them to deliver 20 minutes ago we were told it told on it's way never arrived I would never go there again as the woman was laughing on the phone aswell

Reading the previous review left me a little confused. It was written about one month ago by a Jennifer Larkhall. The reason I am confused is that unless I am on holiday . ( Last holiday Nov and Dec ) then I should be the ONLY driver working for this business. ALL of my regular customers will testify that I am always happy, with a smile and ask how the customers are. This is always followed by a respectful thank you and a wish that they have a good evening. I am glad that Ms Harkhall usually tips the drivers also ,as many customers do not , this is the only way we can supplement our very low incomes. It would be of great benefit to me , If Ms Larkhall would order another delivery and she could see if indeed she has the correct person in mind, also the correct takeaway.

Every time I have had food here I do enjoy it a lot. I have gone to this Chinese style take away since it opened and I always choose it over others. You can get deliveries from this takeaway. I would recommend using the golden city app if you wish to order online. You can use just eat as well but the prices are a little inflated and just eat do charge takeaways quite a lot of commission which is the reason for the raised prices on there (all takeaways do it on there not just this place) Staff are always friendly and welcoming. I guess as with any restaurant or eatery it is open to your personal tastes and preferences. As with any place you eat. If you are dining in alone may I suggest the special offer box currently £8. Enjoy

Proof that the best things come to those who wait this remarkable takeaway offers an excellent variety of food from typical Chinese dishes through to an array of English food. The chips are exceptional and overall quality and quantity go hand in hand. Staff are also very friendly and although there is a bit of a wait all the better for it because you know you are getting fine fresh food to enjoy. 5 star rating was easy to give in this instance upon reflection of my own personal experience. My partner and I have been looking for a good Chinese takeaway in keynsham for ages. By chance I drove past this takeaway this week and thought we'd try it. All other Chinese we have tried in Keynsham have been really disappointing until now... when we called we were greeted by a very helpful lady who was very polite and took our order. When we arrived to collect the place was spotless and very clean, we had a very warm welcome and nice conversation. The food was out of this world! Totally fresh, good tasty food, not greasy, full of flavours, not your typical Chinese , no msg. Was absolutely beautiful and I believe all made fresh . I will not be going anywhere else from now on. If you haven't been then you must go!! 😊
