Golden City in Charnwood

I’m afraid the food wasn’t great. Friendly delivery but was later than the estimated time. The pad Thai noodles were mushed together and very spicy. The soup was tasteless and hardly and chicken or noodles. The chips were soggy and the prawn crackers seemed old and hard. I won’t be ordering from them again which is a shame as the menu looked inviting.

They forgot to send the curry sauce I ordered with the chips, then said the driver had gone home so could not deliver it even thought the web site was still taking orders for delivery. The packaging of each item was covered in oil. The beef chow main was oily and the beef not cooked properly and the chips they sent me were also very oil and did not look fresh.

I ordered one item; salt and pepper chicken wings. Just ONE dish. Honestly the worst chicken wings I’ve ever tasted. Completely bland and oddly tasted of onions as there were more onions in the pot than wings. I could have made much better myself at home. They literally had one job and couldn’t get that right. Will never be ordering again.

The takeaway was okay,the fried rice is a bit pale and undercooked,the chicken balls were undercooked and a bit pink in the middle,the beef was great and the king prawns fantastic,will try there again but only certain dishes off the menu.
