Golden Bowl in Harborough

We moved to the village last year and have been ordering food from Golden Bowl at least once a fortnight ever since. Fantastic food, heaps of choice and always so so quick. We’ve been through most of the menu and are yet to find anything we don’t like!

Lovely Chinese, clean open kitchen, friendly staff. Best salt and pepper prawns around! A must try dish! Well priced too.

Brilliant Chinese, not greasy at all, ready in good time and really friendly and efficient service! Would highly recommend!

Got to rank amongst the worst Chinese take away I have ever had! We searched the pad Thai dish for the chicken, and found 1 very small peice peice, in the entire portion, hardly any meat in the pork dish, and the salt and pepper chicken was less than average!... a waste of £28!.. never again!!

Really tasty, especially the salt and pepper king prawns! Pretty good value for money, and very polite service too. Best in local vicinity.

Lovely food, reasonably priced and very good service. Liked how I could see the kitchen when I collected the takeaway, as you can se show clean and organised it is, which is very important to me!

We got a selection of dishes including sweet n sour pork. Too much sauce , also too sour and the pork bits were tough and grisly. The Dim Sum collection was not that great. The spare ribs were fatty and pretty tasteless. The rest of the dishes were Ok, not the worst we’ve tasted, but far from the best. On the website it’s says contactless payment and credit cards are accepted but when you pick up the food it’s cash only.

Nice Chinese food, a little pricy for what you get, but nice enough. Quick and efficient and no waiting around too long for your order which is nice. Cash only though.

This is one of the best places for Chinese food ever, they are super quick friendly and always seem happy. Never had the wrong order or any issues with food. The food seems fresh and really nice!

I order from here a couple of times a month when I'm at The Gliding Centre. Food is always great and is ready for collection really quickly.

Probably the worst Chinese ever,stayed at brook meadow camping site,said would deliver after 2 hrs went to get it and had to get refund as was awful,please avoid

Second time we've ordered and second time we've had problems! They cannot even manage to remove certain ingredients for someone with an allergy despite them acknowledging and saying they would. The food has no flavour, seriously it's water with huge chunks of veg, we ordered a variant of dishes and everything tasted the same! Within an hour of eating we all felt sick with one person actually vomitting. It's over priced. Literally the worst Chinese we've ever had! I must be fair and mention the only positives; The guy on the front desk is friendly and there is parking facilities at the shop next door.

I’m always happy to eat from here! One of the best I’ve found. I’ve never had a problem with the quality here!

We decided to try a different Chinese takeaway and to much disappointment the food was not great at all.The price isn’t bad but we found the sauce very watery and quite tasteless, so to me the price is expensive for the quality of food. We personally won’t be revisiting

I ordered a vegetable curry with rice. The curry sauce was awful...it was very thick and stodgy.Had the consistency of very thick custard. I counted two peices of sliced carrot, four slices of corn, two green bean type vegetables and some very soggy cabbage. There were a few peas in there too...no more than ten. Oh and about six mushrooms and lots of chucky onions.I ate about half the rest went in the bin. I had a bad stomach the next morning I have ordered here before and had the same problem, but thought I would try again.I won't be going again

Positives - quick and friendly service Negatives - chicken in the Thai red chicken curry had the most disgusting 2mm thick layer of jelly textured fat all over it. Mushrooms were really greasy. Chow mein was bland.

We've had two takeaways from here. The first was a chowmein and we have been used to that dish not being smothered in sauce, so this was a bit of an oddity and not much liked. Also the portion size is small with only 3/4 of the dish being filled. Am used to dishes being filled so you know you've eaten well. The second time we had crispy shredded beef, couldn't wait for this as it's a top favourite, I know the dish says that it comes with sweet chilli sauce ....but it's so much nicer without it, again, small portions. The shredded beef tastes if beef fat more than meat. The plus side is that the takeaway is spotlessly clean and you can see what's going on.

Lovely service from the girl taking my order however food was a big let down.

We were camping at Brook Meadow Farm Campsite in Sibbertoft but didn't want to cook, this was the most local take-away that we could find, we placed our order for 7 people and they kindly delivered it to us, didn't take long to arrive and we were all very impressed with the quality of the food, our bill was very reasonable too, would definitely use again. The delivery driver was very friendly, thank you Golden Bowl for a great meal!!

We found the food was very good, we had it delivered and it came on time and was hot. The lady who answered them phone doesn't speak very good English.

Being from Husband Bosworth it's great the have a top quality Chinese take away on your door step! Amazing food (chicken chow main, chicken balls, Ribs, currys, rice, crispy duck) great service and a very clean restaurant. You can tell some love goes into the cooking!

Used Golden Bowl many times when it was in Welford - was great then - but since the move to Husband's Bosworth it has got better.
