Hong Kong Takeaway with Fish&Chips in Harborough

Asked for a small chips, small curry and two fish cakes. Was asked for £11.60 and walked straight out. Are they having a laugh? I won’t return. They clearly are no longer a chippy.

Recently moved into the area and pleasantly surprised to find a Chinese takeaway a few minutes walk away. Cash only Shredded beef could risk a bit more chilli haha.

I rang up to order food and the way the guy spoke to me on the phone wasn't very professional and rude don't think I'll be ordering from here anytime soon the way he spoke to me

Food was excellent in large quantities. Service was polite and chill. Good value. We had the house special chow mein, mushroom chow mein, egg fried rice and chicken curry. Not a complaint from anyone!

I found myself in a situation and frankie was very helpful and not judgemental. He didnt make me feel uncomfortable. If anything he put me at ease and for that I'm grateful. Thank you frankie . Plus food is yum

I had a lovely meal from hong kong take away. the rice was just right, the sweet and sour chicken was delicous. would definatly recommend them. the delivery was really quick. i will definatly be ordering from them again.

Recently moved to Harborough and were looking for a chinese that delivered. We were not disappointed, the food was amazing. Special Hors D’Oeuvres were nice and crisp, the mains were hot and a complimentary portion of prawn crackers to top it all off. Really happy and will be making this our go to. Delicious **************** Just ordered a second meal a month later and it was just as good as the first. We decided on “starter extravaganza” mixed hot d’oeuvres, chi& salt chicken wings and large dumplings ( asked for curry sauce instead of sweet and sour) from the Chef’s specialties. Everything was amazing. Hot, crisp and very tasty.

Was staying in the area on holiday and this was the local Chinese takeaway. Everything was absolutely spot on, staff were friendly and welcoming and accommodating to making adjustments to the dishes ordered. Food was fresh, flavourful and piping hot and generous portion sizes plus if you spend so much you get some free starters which is a lovely touch. Enjoyed it so much we came twice in one week. Definitely would recommend and I’ll be back when I’m next in the area!

One of my favourite takeaways in town. Food is always spot on. As someone who is allergic to chicken meat, if I have any of their "specials" which contain this, as it is all freshly prepared they can make without with no fuss. Also if you call in, there is never a long wait compared to ringing up for a home delivery.

New to the area… I really was hoping to have found my new regular as the reviews were so good.. I must have been unlucky as the food had to go straight in the bin… the chow mein was soooo dry & bland, fried rice was clearly not properly cooked (hard grains) & the sweet & sour sauce tasted vile with dry chewy chicken. The person who took my order on the phone sounded half asleep & uninterested… delivery was quick though & driver was courteous & polite

First time customer really tasty food - big portions and free chips as a new customer - they did forget one dish but they were so apologetic and delivered it asap along with some free starters really good customer service would definitely recommend

We had our first takeaway from this place tonight & I admit it’s the best takeaway meal we’ve had for a long time ! The chilli salt chips are to die for & the chow main & house special fried rice was also superb. Will not be eating anywhere else from now on . Love it !!

We had a big Family anniversary party and hired a local hall, We all decided on a take away as there was over 30 of us. We could not fault the service from start to finish all staff and the very helpful delivery driver went out of their way to make this big order and easy as possible for us. The food itself was AMAZING as always and a big bonus was a lovely bag of freebies, Thank you very much we will all be ordering from you again. Could not fault the food and very helpful service. Been looking for decent Chinese food for many years in Market Harborough, this is the place we love the most. Crispy deep fried squid & king prawns, shredded beef in fruity sauce, beef stir fried with broccoli, king prawn stir fried green peppers, and lemon chicken are our favourites! Highly recommended!

Husband went in to get pie snd chips at about 9.45pm. Tried to charge him £7. He asked how much it was again and was told £7. He said pie and chips is not £7 and the person in the counter said £4.80. He had one pint. Think because he smelt of alcohol they could overcharge him.

Just a lovely Chinese takeaway. My favourite been the chilli chips and sweet and sour chicken. And there hot and sour soup. Yum

Really good spread of well prepared Chinese dishes. Very tasty, highly recommended and good value too. Will definitely return. There’s no decent photo of the menu online so hopefully these photos will be an improvement.

Had take away this evening, chicken and pork was tainted and inedible! Called restaurant, said they were sorry and offered small discount on next order! Never ordering from them again! Don’t waste your money is my advice.

What fab food from this takeaway it great price they only take cash but that is fine the phone never stops with orders we even get our fish and chips from them cheaper than most of the takeaways around in market harborough and even the batter stays crispy when you get home they are good

Hong Kong Chinese I would highly recommend. Food is always piping hot and delivered fairly quickly. You can mix from Chinese to Fish and Chip shop dishes also. Duck and pineapple and Chow mein very nice.

Mr Yong cooked me a bespoke vegetarian dish not on the menu and it was realy good - tomato, onion, mushroom and cashew nuts in a tomato sauce with fried rice - yummy!

Visited for a Take away and it wasn’t bad at all, the chips are very nice and the Curries aren’t bad neither. The place looked clean and tidy and the food was hot. Recommended place, will visit again.

So, this one time at VBOA camp at Market Harborough Showground in 2017, we decided to order a Chinese from the menu supplied. This menu was for the one and only Hong Kong in Market Harborough. There was a few of us, so we decided to write a list. Being the thoughtful beings we are we decided to then go through the long list and add the numbers off the menu to help out the chap on the phone when ordering. Once we had all salivated and decided on what we were having, the champion man vs food representative of our group called the restaurant to relay the list of numbers to make up our order, to be met with a response of 'no, tell me what it is you want'. So he proceeds to order, repeating 'beef and mushrooms' at least four times!! Anyway, once we reach the end of the huge order, he asked for some prawn crackers. I mean can you imagine a Chinese takeaway without prawn crackers?? It would be like a sausage roll with no sausage. We then Patiently wait the hour for delivery. Sure enough, an hour later one driver arrives at the gate. Great we're thinking!! We excitedly take bags of food from him and ask him where the prawn crackers? "All in the bags" he replies. Well, he looks trustworthy... ish. So we believe him and hand over our hard earned cash and rush back to enjoy the delights. Now, can you only imagine the dismay we faced when we find no prawn crackers in any of the bags. That's right.... none!! I can only describe this feeling as the shock and betrayal someone may feel if your best friend had run away for coitus with your pet poodle! Once we'd mopped up some tears we thought we'd get on with eating! We unwrapped the food to feel our next emotion. Surprise and confusion. Salt and pepper chips - not fried and not looking like salt and pepper chips. Beef and mushroom in what looked like a white gooey substance (the coitus disappointment returns if you get me) There is one other slight point to note, and this may or may not be related to the food, but one of our group ordered chicken balls. They were ball shaped, that much he can confirm (he's pretty clued up on balls). And when he seen them again only a couple hours later, the only thing that had changed was that they were no longer ball shaped. This was a little uncomfortable for him, as well as the rest of the group having to endure the wretching sounds disturbing our sterling performance of 'kumbaya' around the camp citronella candle! That said the food tasted pretty good. So, if you don't mind being promised prawn cracker and not getting any, are not put off my the look of your food and can live with an emotional roller coaster then go ahead and order. But don't waste time writing down the numbers!!

Staff are welcoming and freindly. Food is fresh, tasty and made with care and great produce. This has to be the best takeaway Chinese or fish and chips I have been to and I love my takeaway food. Only take away they offer crackers for free!!... this place is superb!!.. 5 star for sure...

Best chinese takeaway in Market Harborough. Friendly service and usually short wait times. Also has a wide variety of foods and also homemade chinese food.

Unfortunately this was the worst take away we have ever had. The sweet and sour vegetables was awful, the sauce was like water and it was mainly onion. The pancake roll was filled with a disgusting mush and was inedible. The mushroom chow mein was very bland. The sweet and sour chicked balls ( my husbands choice ) were strips of overcooked greasy chicken again with a thin tasteless sauce. The vegetable curry was gloopy and there few ingredients and little taste. As a vegetarian I am usually ok with chinese food. A waste of £25.10. I am loathed to give it one star, but as there is not a website of email, this is the only way I can complain. Also, we are within the 1.5 mile radius for delivery, but were told we would have to pay delivery if we wanted an order delivered next time ( not that it will ever happen ) . Plus they only take cash, no cards.

Looking for a delicious, authentic Chinese takeaway? Then I'd definitely recommend the Hong Kong takeaway. The portion sizes are really brilliant - definitely enough for seconds. The staff are all really friendly. Whenever we order delivery it always arrives in a good time. My favourite dishes include fried shredded beef with chilli, salt and chilli squid and chicken in kung pao sauce with cashew nuts. They have recently updated their menu where there are now vegetarian options which all look delicious.

Not a bad meal yet after several years food is always fresh and hot on delivery. The spring rolls are awesome the English menu is good too.

A regular user of this Chinese take away and I can honesty say it's my family favourite. Set meal for one is plentiful & at around £8 good value for money too. Too many good things to say about the food & if you buy between Sunday to Thursday you can add free items depending on your spend of prawn toast, prawn crackers, mini spring rolls & curry triangles. Good job, kept going since the previous owners went back to China.

A good and inexpensive take away. Run by the Chinese, of course.
