Top Wok in Harborough

Today had one of the best Thai meals outside of Thailand. Thanks Top Wok. I pre ordered a pad Thai with king prawns. Excellent, served hot straight from the wok into the takeaway box. Masses of huge tender, juicy prawns. For a starter I had Tom yum soup with king prawns. Lovely. If I closed my eyes I could have been in Thailand instead of Market Harborough !! Very friendly Thai staff and excellent service in a clean and cheerful takeaway.

One of the best Chinese take aways you will find. Food is top notch and great to watch the team cooking while you wait. You know it is going to be good!

We've used Top Wok for years and have always enjoyed the service, delivery and food. We have tried others in town but always revert back to the Top Wok.

Nive Chinese takeway. We surprisingly not received any prown crackers. Lived their chow mein and the price were friendly too..

Have ordered several times from Top wok and each time the food is fantastic, delivery drivers have been really friendly and people taking the order on the phone have always been polite and helpful!

Fast and clean. Good portion. Ordered fried rice. Slightly better than typical London standard and 2/3 of the price. I actually went there because of it's Chinese name. It is a rather poetic name for a UK Chinese takeaway. On those negative comments ... I really dun know what your fuss is about. Oh one comment said they only take cash. That's wrong. I saw the guy after me paid in card. (I was misled by that comment and paid in cash ... Now I have so many coins in my pocket. Idiot) Those like fried rice, please don't always order eggs fried rice. Try yeung chow fried rice. It has shrimp, eggs and BBQ pork in it.

We ordered soup, pancake roll, Singapore fried rice n chips. Good, tasty, reasonably price and quick service. Thank you top wok.

Great takeaway! Extensive range, fair pricing, huge portion sizes (enough for leftovers as lunch the following day), topped off with friendly and courteous customer service. Looking forward to trying the lunchtime menu!

The rice was under-cooked and the crispy beef just tasted of flour. Didn't like the black bean sauce either. I've never been so disappointed with a Chinese takeaway!

First time ordering due to our usual go to Chinese not being as nice the past few times. Definitely will be ordering again. Amazing portion sizes well worth the price. Chips were nice, chicken balls were delicious, best we’ve had for ages. Curry was nice and so was egg fried rice. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be ordering again and trying some other things.

Collected the worse takeaway I've ever had. Only ordered plain noodles which were burnt and smelt burnt too plus overpriced. Called and was sent some more out, which were the same. 🤬😤

Delicious and great value. My favourite takeaway is the king prawn pad Thai. Loads of prawns and packed full of noodles. Each order is made fresh so wait is normally 10-15mins, but we'll worth the wait. Will try the red curry next time. This place, plus the Little Thai restaurant near the bridge, are both my fave places to eat in Market Harborough

Ordered a meal for delivery was told 1hour after 1.5 hrs still no meal rang again to be told it was out for delivery and again after 2 hrs to be told they had lost our ticket. I was looking forward to my meal it wasn't a massive order but nevertheless it is still business business they need in the current climate. I will not use again very disappointed.

I had been told about their new Thai lunch menu by a few friends so gave it a try today. It was amazing had the chicken pad Thai best I have had since travelling round Thailand. Also well priced. Definitely going to be working through the whole lunch menu.

I tried them on seeing the previous reviews. Unfortunately everything was dry and not particularly tasty. The Pork Balls were mostly batter with tiny amounts of dry and recooked pork inside. Will not use again.

We've been coming here since it first opened in 1996 when we lived nearby. It's great to see that the quality and service are as great now as then, if not better. Will be prompting parents to go again next time we visit

Great service over the phone and delivery arrived before the ETA so all good there but unfortunately the food was not good. Cold chips, tasteless and unseasoned overcooked beef in the chow mein, curry the chicken was lovely but sauce far too runny and so was the barbecue sauce. Tried Top Wok again for the first time in a while but unfortunately won’t be ordering from here again

Our regular Chinese for a couple years now, just down the road from us, tried so many in Harborough wouldn't go anywhere else! Food is always hot and tastes amazing, always pleasant to order over the phone and young delivery guy is so lovely. My faveeeeee!

I use Top wok all the time, the food is always delicious and the service is great too but I tried the Thai today and it was amazing, honestly the best food I’ve had for years, I really hope they add it to their evening menu, try it you’ll be glad you did! Well done Top Wok.

My telephone order was taken accurately and easily, food was delivered promptly by a friendly driver. The food was piping hot and og good qualitu.

We ordered for the first time on a Friday afternoon. They have their new Thai food lunch. Let’s just say I was not disappointed. From the moment I called to place my order to the last bite of my meal. Service was exceptional. As soon as we walked the gentleman behind the counter was very welcoming. The atmosphere and decor of the takeaway restaurant itself was inviting and clean. None of the food felt greasy or heavy. Just delicious. I couldn’t stop eating it. The photo of my plate was at the end so not very presentable. But when we initially opened it all for the grand reveal, everything felt well put together and pretty. I will definitely go back!

No card or contactless payments during a pandemic, want you to handle cash with no hand sanitizer available. Basic hygenie seems to be lacking

Definitely one of the best chinese takeaways in market harbs. Great sweet and sour chicken and decent size portions. Always a delicious family treat.

A typical takeout, huge menu, quick service all in plastic trays. Weirdly it is cash only, not so much an issue as cash machine outside. Food was ok. The kitchen is open so you can watch the frenetic activity in the kitchen bringing all the orders together.

Hooray! Love it. Fab food after a few dodgy experiences in other places. We have found our regular takeaway now :)

Delicious food and very friendly service

Located right on the High Street, Top Wok is always busy but worth the wait. Despite what other reviews may say, none of their food is microwaved or simply heated up from frozen. The staff work hard to take and cook orders, and also deliver to the surrounding towns/villages. A nice, family-run takeaway with tasty Chinese food. The house special fried rice is one of my favourite dishes - a huge portion with lots of meat and BBQ sauce on top. Would also recommend the crispy shredded beef or chicken in Peking sauce.

Top Wok have been open for a number of years now and I used to get my takeaways else where before they opened. I have now them consistently since then and have found the quality surpasses that of other takeaways. Service is always quick even though they are always busy and that is because they have so many staff. It is always disappointing when I want a Chinese takeaway and find they have closed for their holidays, but they certainly deserve them. Last weeks meal was great, as usual.

The good: The whole place looks clean and the place runs like clockwork Didn't have to wait too long for our food. Plenty of people collecting pre-ordered food The not so good: I chose a mixed starter for two of spring rolls, etc. @ £6.50 Quite honestly, they were the worst mixed starter of this type that I have ever had. Edible, but only just. AND there was no accompanying soy or other sauce. Fortunately we did have a couple of condiments at home to make it taste a bit better. Our mains were from a set menu. All the vegetables ( peppers, onion, celery? that was a first in a chinese meal were gigantic slabs of veg. This rather hid the meat which was lurking in there somewhere. I long ago gave up on gloopy sauce and it was in abundance on the sweet and sour chicken. Even the pineapple were giant sized cubes. I didn't recognize any particular flavour in the entire meal - a large amount went in the bin. Sorry to be negative. Ordinarily I don't leave unfavourable reviews but this place was not to my liking at all. For what we had, I felt we did not even have 'value' for money This was

I phoned to make a takeaway order and when I said I would pay on my Bank Card, The reply was "Sorry we only Take cash"

We have used topwok for years, the food is always of a high standard and the delivery times are always very quick (upto around 40 mins) food is always tasty and well prepared. Can't ask for anymore really

The best takeaway food in Market Harborough. Food is always delicious. Chicken curry, vegetables curry, house special chow main and our favourite soup: wan ton soup this is what we're always having. The staff is always friendly and welcoming you with the smile. We recommend Top Wok us our favourite chinese takeaway.

Can be busy at times but food is excellent

Good menu at reasonable prices. We've ordered large and small quantities and had excellent service and quality every time. Best to pre order by phone if you are on a tight time schedule. Home delivery is also available and we found this to be very reliable too. Sometimes there can be a wait but you will be kept informed. The kitchen is in full view of the waiting area and you can see everything being cooked for you.

Best Chinese takeaway in Harborough IMO. The food is always fantastic and every meal we've had (which has been a LOT) has been tasty, hot and generous portions. It can get busy so you sometimes need patience when ordering, but the staff are great and always friendly.

Once again having just finished my meal I feel I must make a comment. When I arrived,there was at least twenty people waiting, it didn’t take them many minutes to serve everybody,whilst at the same time answering the phone, as well as dispatching their home delivery people off into the cold night. When it comes to good food follow the crowd they can’t all be wrong. Our evening meal was superb.

I have just finished my evening meal, this takeaway is always busy and never fails to to please. The management, and I suspect their family, can be seen working in a spotless organised kitchen. Again our evening meal was first class.

Have been there several times and have never had a bad meal. I will continue using Top Wok. Recomend crispy beef and Peking chicken which they will adjust the amount if chillies if you ask.

This place used to be excellent, the special rice is still good, but recently I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and egg fried rice at the counter, it was ready in 45 seconds, but cold! the egg fried rice sticky with very little egg. The chicken balls were massive, just all greasy soggy doe and batter, with a little bit of mushy reconstituted chicken stuff in the middle. I was very disappointed and it's not cheap. I'm not sure, but I think it may be new management

Had our first takeaway after being recommended by a friend. Love the open kitchen idea. The food was very tasty, great variety. Don’t get free prawn crackers so need to order some. Will be back.

We usually go to Abbey Cottage but thought we would try Top Wok. It was ok, but clearly pre-made and microwaved. Wouldn't order again, chicken fried rice was so dry, the duck was dry, just pre made then heated up! Delivery was on time.

El uso de comida para llevar comida china que normalmente estaba cerrado, así que tuvimos una comida desde aquí. La comida estaba bien y yo no tengo ninguna queja. Una comida para llevar de aquí. La comida era buena, pero no justifica un 4 / 5 'muy bueno en mi opinión. La comida se entregó y llegó un poco antes de lo esperado.

The staff here are always so helpful wether it be on the phone or in person, the food is delightful and exactly what you want from a Chinese. No reason not to give it 5 stars.

Hay un montón de sitios de China en Market Harborough, pero Top Wok es el único que ofrece los ingredientes frescos, recién hechos a la orden. Verduras crujientes y sabores preciosa preciosa. No GMS aquí. Sin duda el mejor de la ciudad.

I love top wok, do not eat Chinese from from anywhere else. Always quick, friendly and tasty. We always collect and the food is still hot when we serve it up. I do tend to have my dishes extra spicy, the kon Sui chicken is amazing as is their spicy beef.

Want Chinese food at very reasonable prices, then just go.The food is well cooked and presented, priced to suit all pockets and has menu that will suit nearly everyone.Its made to order and arrives piping hot.They will listen to special orders and will accomodate the one off request for more ..... Went there once for take out and the food was fresh but the taste was just ok. The place is for take out only. The waiting time to received the food was around 10 mins. Ordered the following items:-Hot and sour soup, which was too sour-Chicken corn soup, which was very pasty (too much cornstarch) -Beef with oyster sauce, received black bean beef, it was good but not the right order-White rice There are better Chinese restaurant options in town.

My very bad first experience with Top Wok, would not recomend them and definitely not ordering again. Had a curry meal (this was quite OK) and roast duck with mixed vegetables - well I can tell for sure it was definitely NOT roasted also the duck (if it was the duck) had plenty of fat (skin) on it, duck and vegetable were in undefinied sauce. Would not even give it to my dog. Plus they have different (lower) prices in online menu then what they actually charging. I usually do not complain about the food but this time I had to. Gutted. Typical Chinese take away, but food is of good quality and reasonably priced. Great for a quick feed if you do not want to cook yourself. Interestingly, quite a few Chinese customers here!

Amazing takeaway, the best one in Harborough! I've heard people would even rather go here for the chips instead of the chip shop over the road! The selection is brilliant, cooked by authentic Chinese chefs

I use this place all the time and have been coming here for takeaways for years, the food is always excellent and authentic, I recommend the chilli and garlic king prawns (dry) and the roast pork chow mein, have these dishes with curry to sauce it up.

This place is awesome! 1/4 Duck was great, Shredded beef in spicy satay sauce was very spicy and tasted amazing as did the Kon Sui chicken and the beef in black bean sauce. Chicken Chow mein amazing as well. I really can't rate this place highly enough. It's nice that you can actually watch the chefs cooking your dinner in front of you too. Will definitely be back soon. Oh, and probably not a huge point for a Chinese but have to say that we also had a bag of chips and they were the best chips we'd ever had from a Chinese takeaway.

As a typical chinese Takeaway on a high street it is what it says on the tin. The food is ok depending on time of evening and when you use. After around 9pm on weekends, well service is very quick but food standard drops as most trade is from people up and down the high street on a night out. It is popular as a dive in to grab something on the way home at weekends and that is reflecred in the quality. During the week and early on the food is good but far from a high standard. Best summed up as the equivalant of a local chippy on the way home.
