Goffs Manor in Crawley

This is a lovely restaurant. The inside is not massive but very cosy. It’s very busy in the summer outside which is next to the road but separated by the bushes. Dogs are allowed here which is good and they have a dog water bowl outside. The food is great but menu doesn’t change much. It’s a posh pub so prices are not cheap.

The staff are friendly and the food is lovely. Didn’t feel rushed at all and would highly recommend.

Terrible experience due to a female member of staff who is rude and has a bad attitude , not only on this occasion but on previous occasions. Therefore I won't be returning.

Lovely pub which we have been to many times. Service was very slow and we had to wait over an hour for our food. A party of 10 and only 8 got food - 10 mins later the other two dishes arrived, which were only burgers. If you are not very hungry then opt for mac and cheese or fish pie as portions are very small. Fish and chips were delicious.

We visited recently for Sunday lunch after finding the Black Swan closed for refurbishment. We assumed a pub by the same brewery would equate to similar standards, how wrong we were. We got out the car and the first sight was piled of rubbish at the rear of the building: rubble sacks, polythene packaging strewn around. Not a nice welcome. We went in and gave our name for our reservation. We were shown to our table and told before we'd even sat down that we'd need to leave in 1.5 hours. I replied that I'd actually booked a 2 hour slot online but no we were told they need to turn the table around so we would need to leave in 1.5 hours. Wow, thanks very much for that. So much for a how are you all, and have you travelled far, how's your weekend going.... nope, it was here's your table, you need to leave by X time. I don't think I've ever felt so unwelcome in a pub. It wasn't just us, the approach to every table who arrived around us was the same. Not even a hello, just being told what time they'd need to leave. Incredible. We ordered our food to our solemn waitress, who was able to crack a smile while she stood laughing with her colleagues, but not provide us with one. The food? Sadly not the saviour in this review. Dry roast turkey, roast potatoes that were certainly NOT cooked that day - they are either brought in cooked and re-heated, or frozen and re-heated. Not surprisingly we couldn't wait to leave. For the record, we were at our table for 40 minutes. We didn't have a starter or dessert because your attitude was so unwelcoming. I suspect the reason this pub is busy is because the Black Swan is closed. I should add, the Black Swan is fantastic. A warm welcome, very friendly staff, delicious food, and guess what, we've NEVER been told we have to leave a table at a certain time, which means we've spent about 6 times more money in there! Thanks for ruining what we hoped would be a relaxing lunch with a friend who was visiting from overseas, and was off to the airport later on. Anyone reading this, I recommend the cafe at Squires Garden Centre instead. We went there for coffee and pudding and had a lovely time.

Very happy with the friendly helpful staff, the menu selection, food quality and price! We will definitely be visiting more often! Such a relaxed and homely feel too.

Only one girl serving food and drinks. No Cava either though its on wine list. Fries were cold and glasses dirty. Whole place looks very run down, shame as is a lovely building

We booked a table for 25 people for our choir post Christmas meal. The food and service were excellent. All of our meals hot and very tasty. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient at all times. We all had a wonderful evening and would highly recommend to everyone. Compliments to the chef and staff from all of us.

We went there twice in 24h! It's a lovely setting suitable for bigger groups. The service was not as efficient as we would have liked but friendly. The food was excellent, some of the best fish & chips ever.

We visited on Sunday 1st October. We booked a table for 2pm for 10 people, celebrating my dad’s 85th birthday. Service was slow especially the time it took the food to come out. Our roast beef was so tough and when you see photo of what we got served, you would question whether they have ‘chefs’ or staff that just heats up food. In this case the beef was so over done it looks like they left it under the heat lamp and let it frazzle. It was embarrassing as we had invited my dad friends for lunch and they commented how tough the roast beef was. My 10 year old child could have done a better presentation of the food. I didn’t bother complaining as we watched another customer complaining about the service and the ‘manager’ face said it all. She was the least interested person. I’ve always though the food at Goff’s was good, been going for last 20 years. When we visited on 7th August, it wasn’t so great, but we still came back thinking it was one off, but this time it was a triple A rating.. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Please don’t waste your money, go somewhere else.

We booked for early Sunday evening for a family members birthday. 6 adults, 2 children. The restaurant was quiet but it still took nearly 15 mins for someone to take our food and drinks order. The drinks then took another 15 mins to arrive. The starters arrived a short while later for those who ordered them and were fine. It took some time for the plates to be removed after we had finished and again, quite a wait for the mains to arrive. these were again, OK, although I was advised the chicken and ham hock pie was very good. 4 of us had roasts ( beef only option). The meat was somewhat chewy and most of the veggies were hot. The kids meal portions were very good and food hot and tasty. Again, it took ages for the plates to be removed and we had to call someone over to take dessert orders as no one came near. It took nearly 15 mins for 2 tubs of ice cream, 1 triple scoop of ice cream and one warm apple pie and ice cream to arrive. The warm apple pie wasn’t, although again, it was apparently very tasty. Not once, throughout the whole time, did anyone come to check that everything was ok. All in all, a very mediocre and rather disappointing evening.

A menu with limited options was made even more limited by a number of items not being available. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, however the service was very slow. It was clear the staff didn’t want to be there. It is a place that is ok for a drink only, but not for a meal.

A very nice venue. Clean tidy and spacious. Comfortable with tables not close together. Food was a very good standard at an excellent price.

Came here on Monday 4th September for a birthday treat, lady that served us (unfortunately didn’t get her name) was brilliant, couldn’t have asked for anything better. Food was quick and piping hot. Overall a excellent evening.

This is a lovely country pub with plenty of space indoors and out. The menu is traditional and includes a good selection of light starters which can also be used as a tapas selection. The staff were friendly and attentive without seeming rushed.This is a good place for groups as well as couples and families and I am sure to come back.

Visited Goffs Manor for lunch and are so glad that we did! Fantastic food and the most incredibly lovely staff ever. We all chose a delicious vegetarian burger which was unlike anything we’ve had before….the brioche bun contained two crispy vegetable bhajis which were really crispy and flavoursome, as well as mango chutney, salad and poppadoms, served with a yogurt sauce and fries. A genius invention! We had our dog with us and he was made equally welcome by the amazing staff who got him a bowl of water and made a fuss of him. It’s rare to find such a warm and genuine welcome as well as delicious food and we only wish we lived nearer so we could be regular visitors.

Met up with family for lunch here. Never been before, but glad we did. We booked a table & had a welcome sign on the table when we arrived (a very nice & personal touch). We were very impressed with the food, Fish & chips, fish pie & a bacon & brie cob roll. The staff were very friendly & extremely helpful. I can't thank staff enough, due to illness and Covid it had been 3 years since I saw my brothers. We had a table at Goffs Manor for food, which was excellent, and then just sat having a lovely afternoon to early evening drinking good beer and wine. The staff were fantastic, at no time did we feel rushed. Will certainly go again.

I am very very disappointed with goffs manor - we have recently moved to Crawley and we enjoyed coming here for food and loved coming here to watch the euro football matches also - so over a week ago I booked a seat in the tent with the big screen for myself and my fiancée for the euro final - we were excited that we booked and was confirmed - then I get a call a couple days ago saying sorry the seats are only for 4 or 6 people and will be cancelling - even tho we have sat here many of the games and watched the matches and had dinner!! Total rudeness and all to make more money - we will never be going here again due to this I think it’s appalling they can do this.

Nice work lunch , easy to book.You have to order on the app which is fine if you want everything on the actual meal.I had Caesar salad £12.50 tad small but tasty, colleagues had plant burger and fish and chips.Came quickly and all in all happy to return !

My wife and I have just had a very relaxing sunny afternoon in the garden of the Goffs Manor. Once we did all the Covid precautions, we chose our table in the garden.It was to be honest a very steep learning curve using the app on my phone, to order and pay for our drinks. But after doing it once, I was very impressed with the service we received. As our drinks arrived promptly, bought to us by a very pleasant gentleman.We also ordered our food through the app, and were very pleasantly surprised that the cobb rolls we wanted. Could be ordered instead as wholemeal sandwiches. Both my cheese/onion and my wife's egg/cress sandwiches were very filling.And I would like to say thank you to everyone at Goffs Manor, for dragging me into the 21st century. As it was so easy, once I had got used to the app, to order more drinks.

Tue 11 May 2021, 19:00, x2/x3EXCELLENT COVID19-safe eating/drinking!upon arrival, QR check-in and proof;we hadn't booked, so no room in marquee, but warm/dry, so sat outside;QR on table for drink/food ordering, which was only 5-10 mins wait;by 20:30, we managed to move inside, cos of no-show bookings;marquee is VERY nicely done out... carpet/flooring... well-spaced tables... one-way system... and whole marquee very tastefully decorated!table-service rather than QR online ordering...we only had chips, which were great, and cider/beer/coffeeall in all, a reassuringly SAFE experience, and very pleasant too!we haven't been here for a few years, but used to be regulars - we WILL now be returning!!!

Went here for my first “out out” drink since lockdown eased. Was absolutely brilliant, great marquee decorated lovely. Table service was very quick and efficient. Highly recommend.

We went for drinks after 4 months of the bars bring closed , Fernanda was the best host , she was very professional and made us feel very comfortable at Goff Manor, she made our visit very special.

I went here with a friend during the Tier 2 UK restrictions and we sat in the outside area, which was very well done. They had some fires going to warm up the marquee a bit and it was nicely decorated. The service was prompt and we had two of their sandwiches, which didn’t disappoint either and came with fries. Overall there isn’t anything i’d change, it was much better than the previous time we had food here.

Wanting to support the pubs, see topped at goffs manor on way back from shopping. Lovely log fire on a cold December day! Lots of outside seating feeling very festive under a marque! We day inside by fire, nice pub grub, staff very helpful and friendly. All feeling very Covid safe, lots of cleaning going on! Would recommend.

Visited here yesterday, we sat in the marquee outside. Couldn't fault the service or the food. Lovely evening, covid compliant and fab all round.

Very friendly staff and an decent atmosphere. The drinks were brought to the table quickly and food wasn’t too far behind either. The burger was a bit dry but the fries were very good. Easy parking and good covid measures.

Atmosphere was filled with the screams of babies. This is in no way the fault of the Manor but be warned a lunchtime Sunday meal hear can be very noisy when the kids are howling and it was difficult to hear ourselves talk over the screams. The beef arrived cold and the vegetables were stone cold on the plate. The 28days aged beef was also super chewy and three of us that had it found it difficult to eat it all given just how tough it was. We raised the issue of the cold food with the waitress and she said she would get the manager but the manager never showed up and we just wanted to get away from the screaming babies at that point. Won't be rushing back and I suppose in hindsight for £12 some tough chewy beef is probably what you should expect.

The food and service was excellent. We sat near the log burner which is a nice feature. Very friendly staff, with a bonus of Wicked Wyvern on tap! Highly recommended.

What a great service we have had from a staff member called nikki i believe. She was so helpful with the food menu and she recommended us some delicious food. Despite how busy it was she looked after us 10/10. Always had a smile on her face.

I came here with friends for a few nibbles and drinks and I was very impressed by the measures that were in place to keep us safe regarding social distancing etc. Jo and Ruby were very welcoming and friendly. They made sure we were happy and felt safe (there was a very rude table next to us breaking social distancing and they dealt with them accordingly). This was my first visit to the goffs manor and I will definitely be returning. Thank you to the team and jo for a great evening

Crazy bad customer service. Jo the lady in change was literally so rude no customer service at all we will never return this * place ever again. Good luck on trying to get chromed to return as we were 10 of them.

I visited with my family for a meal and the food was amazing! Jo sorted out all of our food and drink for us, explained the social distancing rules and was super helpful and friendly. Would highly reccomend.

This was our 2nd post lockdown to Goffs Manor, today to take advantage of the Government scheme. We were so impressed at the 1st visit and the Companies adapation of Covid distancing rules that we felt comfortable to return, we were equally impressed. They have literally mastered it, to a point in fact that I'm hoping the ordering and paying process remains forever. The shortened menu offers a good variance of taste and actually suits me personally as i always struggle to decide with larger menu's. The food is fresh, hot, in abundance and well presented. Today I opted for the Fish and Chips, I've eaten Fish and Chips in every corner of the UK, these are certainly in my top 5 if not higher. The 'Staff', its almost a shame i mention them last as because without their professional attitude and attention to detail, none of what i write would be possible. You will need to book in advance, and they do fill up, this itself is testimony to the service they offer. If you get the opportunity to Visiawley, make sure you add a visit to GoffsManor to your itinerary. P.S, Your Dogs are Welcome too

We booked a table for Sunday lunch. We were extremely impressed with the organisation and the strict adherence to the current Covid 19 guidelines. The new app ordering food was easy to use. Staff were fantastic and we had a very relaxing lunch despite these difficult times

I live opposite the pub and am really concerned regarding the social distancing rules as at 11pm when the beer garden license expires they just herd all the customers of the beer garden into the pub, regardless of their own regulations that you have to book a slot in the pub and time is regulated.

Just visited our local Goffs Manor who reopened Wednesday - booked a table in garden as required, arrived to friendly and effective staff, tables very well set out, slight IT blip with ordering app but they offered free drinks for the inconvenience (we politely declined as they clearly are trying to get back on their feet but was very generous gesture). Blip quickly sorted and enjoyed great beer and food - first time we’ve visited any type of venue since beginning of March and it was a joy!!Can’t recommend enough, go out and enjoy a bit of ‘normal’ at the Goffs Manor - it’s well worth it!! Delighted they are opened again!

After a walk around the town and park i was recommended Goffs Manor by a local and was very much the visit nice pub with a fantastic steak cooked to perfection i was greeted and served by a young chap Michael very smiley and helpful would recommend highly and will be returning.

Use to come here all the time to lift my spirit with the delicious chicken buffalo wings but they discontinued them and broke my heart. Right before that they did the same with chili cheese fries that me and my boyfriend use to love. Don’t take me wrong they have other good dishes and cozy environment but I haven’t come back since

We live locally and have been to this pub many times but were so disappointed by our visit today I feel compelled to write a review.We reserved a table to have a Sunday lunch today. When we arrived the table was laid for 5 people instead of the 7 that we had booked for. The table was coming apart in the middle and creaked every time someone leant on it. We waited 1.5hrs for our main courses to arrive. We had two young children with us who were ravenous by the time their food came and then one of them didn't get what they'd actually ordered but the waitress didn't mention anything, I'm not sure if she realised he'd been given the wrong food or not. All of our meals were luke warm but everyone was just so starving we couldn't stand the thought of sending them back. The staff apologised when we complained about the wait and offered us complimentary desserts. So some coursecl we all ordered desserts, hoping it would make up for the poor meal. But then had to wait another 30 mins for the desserts to arrive- by this point the pub was pretty much empty. When the desserts came they were all cold. We sent the sticky toffee puddings back but then realised that the crumbles weren't just cold - they hadn't actually even been cooked. We asked to see the manager and she was really apologetic and knocked another 25% off our bill. When we did get our bill we had been charged for more side dishes than we'd ordered. The whole thing was a shambles. I'm not sure what went wrong and wondered if the chefs had gone home but when we went to pay our bill we could see them through the door so maybe the chefs are just not very good? Anyway, the whole afternoon was a major disappointment and it will make us think twice about returning. Such a shame.

We had Dinner here once, and really enjoyed the Food, the atmosphere is Warm and Welcome, Staff was super friendly, helpful, and service was excellent. Good quality and didn't wait long for our Food. We took our Friend (visiting from abroad) here for Lunch last summer, he is a Restaurant owner, and couldn't fault the place. We had some of the open sandwiches. Fresh and so tasty. We had few drinks in the Garden, and really enjoyed the Summer Sun. Great place to visit Winter or Summer. Super Food

Two adults, a teenager and child went for a meal after the Hawth Panto ( oh yes we did!). I had booked a table.There was a lovely ambiance , it was busy but it didn't feel frantic. Service was a little slow but she was friendly.Meal for the 6 year old was fish goujons and it was two large pieces of fish which was too much but would be fine for children with larger appetites.Burgers were excellent.Pie was tasty, mashed potatoes a little too salty. We left feeling satisfied and full.Car park could do with some repair when the finer weather arrives.

Excellent Table Service and Quality Food Party off 20 Looked After Perfectly Relaxing Restaurant set in old pub surroundings

Fish and chips were really well cooked. Light batter and crispy chips and the portions were huge. The staff were welcoming and attentive. Shame the car Park isn’t better lit but otherwise no complaints.

We had our work Christmas do here and I have to say I was very impressed. For pub mass served food it was hot and tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the pub itself was decked out nicely for Christmas with a homely warm inviting feel to it. Recommended!

Had the best experience at the goffs manor pub today. The staff are so friendly they couldn't have been more accommodating for me and my 18month old son. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived, nothing seemed to much trouble for them. Special thanks to michael who went out of his way to make the evening extra special! Would strongly recommend a visit to the goffs manor pub.
