I so wanted the experience. Drove non stop 7 hours from Hull to meet family (10) near Crawley for Sunday lunch 15.30. Overall happy with southern prices for both food and drink .The Manor decor is spot-on .However when I got the bill ,,, noticed a bottle of HOUSE white charged £33.95 . I asked to see the wine list ?told they don’t have one ,I must download from the app.?? Our day was almost perfect meeting with family. The food . Having used Tripadvisor often and never strongly criticised ( not in my nature) no comment.

We were visiting family in Crawley and used Goffs Manor 3 times in 3 days and each time we had a warm, friendly and welcoming experience. The food was delicious and good value. Well done to Hannah and her amazing team. I would highly recommend visiting Goff Manor. Looking forward to visiting again .

Everything was good, food was tasty, service was excellent - quick, friendly and helpful. We ate in the garden and it felt very relaxed. However we thought the roast dinners were expensive. We know that food costs more, and so ordered them anyway. What was disappointing was the tiny portions of veg. Two ribbons of carrot! Two ribbons of parsnip! A dessert spoon full of red cabbage, 3 roast potatoes. I was going to order a child’s roast, but the servings were so small I could eat it all anyway. The ice cream servings were also small. The best value was the sticky toffee pudding which was a generous portion.

Great atmosphere and absolutely delicious food. I worked in bars previously, and if you want to have a nice pint, that’s the place to be. Team was very friendly and chatty, advised us to pop back in next time to enjoy Burger Wednesday. Fab selection of wines too. All in all had a lovely evening with my partner. Thank you ever so much :)

Was meeting up with an old friend in Crawley. Never been to Crawley so we opted for a pub meal, menu looked great online, food was a bit pricey but the pictures looked good and worth it and the pub atmosphere looked good. My friend made a reservation for 7pm. We arrived at 6.55pm pm. Nobody greeted us, staff were quite taken aback, I must pint out, we were two brown people, I know right, brown people in a very very VERY white pub. We were offered a tiny table in the corner behind a wooden pillar. My friend is a 6ft well built guy and this table was ridiculous. Other patrons who entered however, two old ladies, a mother and an adult son and two males, were offered large tables that would comfortably seat four people not needed for two. The common denominator? They were ALL white! No courtesy from staff or anything placed on the table like menu's or cutlery or how to order, I guess brown people's money isn't as good as the white folks. We ended up taking menus from a different table which produced some very shocked looks by the staff. We finally ordered at the bar and were asked to pay immediately. Our starters didn't arrive for nearly 45 mins and we had to ask. They were not worth it, just deep fried husks, over cooked and dry! They'd been sitting on a shelf in the kitchen to die before being served. We then waited, and waited and waited and waited some more for our main course. Two orders of fish and chips. We had to ask 3 times for our order. The "manager" came over and advised they had to defrost a piece of fish from somewhere else and would bring the mains over in a couple of minutes, it was around 8:30pm by the time we received our mains. Horrible fish and about 10 chips dumped on a plate, nothing like the pictures online. We were offered a free drink each and told not to pay upfront next time and offered a discount for our next visit. Unfortunately, we will NOT be returning. It was obvious we were not welcome, it was obvious they didn't care about us, it was obvious customer service isn't extended to people of colour as it was the only denominator in play in comparison to how other patrons were treated. We were polite, courteous and there just to have a nice meal and catch up, which was marred by this horrible experience. If you are white, you will enjoy this place. Brown/black people, please don't spend your hard earned money here, they don't want it. The food and service is terrible.

Had a few good evenings and dinners at the Goffs Manor over the years but last night’s experience was so awful it was bordering on a comical farce It’s a lovely location being in the outskirts of Goffs Park and the building is historical and characterful place but alarm bells started to ring when sat down on a bench that was loose and falling apart, under a chandelier with on one working bulb Our first staff interaction was with a lovely Australian waitress who provided us a surprising list of mundane items not on the menu - no peas, no cold slaw, no pies apart from the fish one and no steak - rather poor stock control to run out of these by 7pm we thought There was no table service so we had to queue up at the bar with our order but we were able to set up a tab About an hour later the blancbait starters turned up for 3 of our party of 6. It’s normal good manners to wait until all the food arrives before tucking in, but after a couple of minutes of nothing else being delivered to the table we started. The blancbait wasn’t particularly hot as if had been hanging around the kitchen after being cooked. Half an hour later a waitress approached the table with a bit of paper asking if we had ordered three other starters? We confirmed we had but it was far too late for them now - “ok” she said “I’ll take them off the bill” no explanation of why they never arrived, no apology and off she went Another hour went by with no staff coming over to take drinks orders, apologise or explain what the delay was - the members of our party who never got a starter had now waited 2 and a half hours for any food so were past peckish We approached the bar to cancel the entire lot but were told “it’s on its way” Again no offer of any drinks or explanation why everything was so late A couple of minutes the food did arrive and it wasn’t worth the wait - the fish burger and fish and chips were Luke warm, chips were cold and the previously “not available” cold slaw was so awful it went straight back Staff in most decent restaurants normally pop over during the mains to check with diners that everything is ok - no one came over to check and when they eventually did remove the half eaten plates we weren’t even asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu The restaurant wasn’t even that busy - I would guess at about 25% capacity looking at the number of empty tables We asked for the bill and some money had been knocked off but no one came over to the table to explain how the refund had been calculated and more importantly apologised for such a poor experience- we paid what we though was an appropriate amount which was approved by a manager in the back of the restaurant who again didn’t bother to come out and talk to us Over all a shoddy unprofessional amateurish service delivering poor quality badly cooked food - an awful experience best avoided

This is a lovely restaurant. The inside is not massive but very cosy. It’s very busy in the summer outside which is next to the road but separated by the bushes. Dogs are allowed here which is good and they have a dog water bowl outside. The food is great but menu doesn’t change much. It’s a posh pub so prices are not cheap.

We visited recently for Sunday lunch after finding the Black Swan closed for refurbishment. We assumed a pub by the same brewery would equate to similar standards, how wrong we were. We got out the car and the first sight was piled of rubbish at the rear of the building: rubble sacks, polythene packaging strewn around. Not a nice welcome. We went in and gave our name for our reservation. We were shown to our table and told before we'd even sat down that we'd need to leave in 1.5 hours. I replied that I'd actually booked a 2 hour slot online but no we were told they need to turn the table around so we would need to leave in 1.5 hours. Wow, thanks very much for that. So much for a how are you all, and have you travelled far, how's your weekend going.... nope, it was here's your table, you need to leave by X time. I don't think I've ever felt so unwelcome in a pub. It wasn't just us, the approach to every table who arrived around us was the same. Not even a hello, just being told what time they'd need to leave. Incredible. We ordered our food to our solemn waitress, who was able to crack a smile while she stood laughing with her colleagues, but not provide us with one. The food? Sadly not the saviour in this review. Dry roast turkey, roast potatoes that were certainly NOT cooked that day - they are either brought in cooked and re-heated, or frozen and re-heated. Not surprisingly we couldn't wait to leave. For the record, we were at our table for 40 minutes. We didn't have a starter or dessert because your attitude was so unwelcoming. I suspect the reason this pub is busy is because the Black Swan is closed. I should add, the Black Swan is fantastic. A warm welcome, very friendly staff, delicious food, and guess what, we've NEVER been told we have to leave a table at a certain time, which means we've spent about 6 times more money in there! Thanks for ruining what we hoped would be a relaxing lunch with a friend who was visiting from overseas, and was off to the airport later on. Anyone reading this, I recommend the cafe at Squires Garden Centre instead. We went there for coffee and pudding and had a lovely time.

Lovely pub which we have been to many times. Service was very slow and we had to wait over an hour for our food. A party of 10 and only 8 got food - 10 mins later the other two dishes arrived, which were only burgers. If you are not very hungry then opt for mac and cheese or fish pie as portions are very small. Fish and chips were delicious.

We visited on Sunday 1st October. We booked a table for 2pm for 10 people, celebrating my dad’s 85th birthday. Service was slow especially the time it took the food to come out. Our roast beef was so tough and when you see photo of what we got served, you would question whether they have ‘chefs’ or staff that just heats up food. In this case the beef was so over done it looks like they left it under the heat lamp and let it frazzle. It was embarrassing as we had invited my dad friends for lunch and they commented how tough the roast beef was. My 10 year old child could have done a better presentation of the food. I didn’t bother complaining as we watched another customer complaining about the service and the ‘manager’ face said it all. She was the least interested person. I’ve always though the food at Goff’s was good, been going for last 20 years. When we visited on 7th August, it wasn’t so great, but we still came back thinking it was one off, but this time it was a triple A rating.. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Please don’t waste your money, go somewhere else.

We booked for early Sunday evening for a family members birthday. 6 adults, 2 children. The restaurant was quiet but it still took nearly 15 mins for someone to take our food and drinks order. The drinks then took another 15 mins to arrive. The starters arrived a short while later for those who ordered them and were fine. It took some time for the plates to be removed after we had finished and again, quite a wait for the mains to arrive. these were again, OK, although I was advised the chicken and ham hock pie was very good. 4 of us had roasts ( beef only option). The meat was somewhat chewy and most of the veggies were hot. The kids meal portions were very good and food hot and tasty. Again, it took ages for the plates to be removed and we had to call someone over to take dessert orders as no one came near. It took nearly 15 mins for 2 tubs of ice cream, 1 triple scoop of ice cream and one warm apple pie and ice cream to arrive. The warm apple pie wasn’t, although again, it was apparently very tasty. Not once, throughout the whole time, did anyone come to check that everything was ok. All in all, a very mediocre and rather disappointing evening.

I can't thank staff enough, due to illness and Covid it had been 3 years since I saw my brothers. We had a table at Goffs Manor for food, which was excellent, and then just sat having a lovely afternoon to early evening drinking good beer and wine. The staff were fantastic, at no time did we feel rushed. Will certainly go again.

Been coming here for ages. But when great service hits, it's only fair to recognise it. Both times I've visited in the last 2 weeks, we've been served by Josh. Really knowledgeable and very tentative, real asset to the place. Great job dude

I am very very disappointed with goffs manor - we have recently moved to Crawley and we enjoyed coming here for food and loved coming here to watch the euro football matches also - so over a week ago I booked a seat in the tent with the big screen for myself and my fiancée for the euro final - we were excited that we booked and was confirmed - then I get a call a couple days ago saying sorry the seats are only for 4 or 6 people and will be cancelling - even tho we have sat here many of the games and watched the matches and had dinner!! Total rudeness and all to make more money - we will never be going here again due to this I think it’s appalling they can do this.

I have just enjoyed a lovely roast in this beautiful pub, with a lovely country feel even though it is in a town. Staff all welcoming and friendly.

My wife and I have just had a very relaxing sunny afternoon in the garden of the Goffs Manor. Once we did all the Covid precautions, we chose our table in the garden. It was to be honest a very steep learning curve using the app on my phone, to order and pay for our drinks. But after doing it once, I was very impressed with the service we received. As our drinks arrived promptly, bought to us by a very pleasant gentleman. We also ordered our food through the app, and were very pleasantly surprised that the cobb rolls we wanted. Could be ordered instead as wholemeal sandwiches. Both my cheese/onion and my wife's egg/cress sandwiches were very filling. And I would like to say thank you to everyone at Goffs Manor, for dragging me into the 21st century. As it was so easy, once I had got used to the app, to order more drinks.

I went here with a friend during the Tier 2 UK restrictions and we sat in the outside area, which was very well done. They had some fires going to warm up the marquee a bit and it was nicely decorated. The service was prompt and we had two of their sandwiches, which didn’t disappoint either and came with fries. Overall there isn’t anything i’d change, it was much better than the previous time we had food here.

We day inside by fire, nice pub grub, staff very helpful and friendly. All feeling very Covid safe, lots of cleaning going on! Would recommend.

Very friendly staff and an decent atmosphere. The drinks were brought to the table quickly and food wasn’t too far behind either. The burger was a bit dry but the fries were very good. Easy parking and good covid measures.

Atmosphere was filled with the screams of babies. This is in no way the fault of the Manor but be warned a lunchtime Sunday meal hear can be very noisy when the kids are howling and it was difficult to hear ourselves talk over the screams. The beef arrived cold and the vegetables were stone cold on the plate. The 28days aged beef was also super chewy and three of us that had it found it difficult to eat it all given just how tough it was. We raised the issue of the cold food with the waitress and she said she would get the manager but the manager never showed up and we just wanted to get away from the screaming babies at that point. Won't be rushing back and I suppose in hindsight for £12 some tough chewy beef is probably what you should expect.

What a great service we have had from a staff member called nikki i believe. She was so helpful with the food menu and she recommended us some delicious food. Despite how busy it was she looked after us 10/10. Always had a smile on her face.

I came here with friends for a few nibbles and drinks and I was very impressed by the measures that were in place to keep us safe regarding social distancing etc. Jo and Ruby were very welcoming and friendly. They made sure we were happy and felt safe (there was a very rude table next to us breaking social distancing and they dealt with them accordingly). This was my first visit to the goffs manor and I will definitely be returning. Thank you to the team and jo for a great evening

This was our 2nd post lockdown to Goffs Manor, today to take advantage of the Government scheme. We were so impressed at the 1st visit and the Companies adapation of Covid distancing rules that we felt comfortable to return, we were equally impressed. They have literally mastered it, to a point in fact that I'm hoping the ordering and paying process remains forever. The shortened menu offers a good variance of taste and actually suits me personally as i always struggle to decide with larger menu's. The food is fresh, hot, in abundance and well presented. Today I opted for the Fish and Chips, I've eaten Fish and Chips in every corner of the UK, these are certainly in my top 5 if not higher. The 'Staff', its almost a shame i mention them last as because without their professional attitude and attention to detail, none of what i write would be possible. You will need to book in advance, and they do fill up, this itself is testimony to the service they offer. If you get the opportunity to Visiawley, make sure you add a visit to GoffsManor to your itinerary. P.S, Your Dogs are Welcome too

I live opposite the pub and am really concerned regarding the social distancing rules as at 11pm when the beer garden license expires they just herd all the customers of the beer garden into the pub, regardless of their own regulations that you have to book a slot in the pub and time is regulated.

Each time we stay at Premier Inn at Gatwick's North Terminal, we have dinner in-house at Thyme Restaurant as it is far more convenient than going elsewhere or suffering the limited, bad-valued terminal food. This time we booked out dinner slot as soon as we checked-in. for 5pm. From experience, if you simply show up you can expect to be accommodated in the restaurant after 9pm as they are always crazy busy. We had a meal deal. We hadn't realised that kids eat free breakfast so it's better to just pay the menu price for kids' food. Our extras with drinks totaled another £30 but that was okay. The meal deal is something to seriously consider as £30 per person for a dinner may not be worth it if you don't ordinarily order 2 courses. We don't usually have an appetiser so it turned out to be not good value for us as our mainstay is usually a fish n' chips. The food was fine. But what stood out to us was the service. Mandalin, our server, was on-point and provided exceptional, attentive service! Thanks to him, our meal went from okay to amazing!

The BEST takeaway in Crawley. For years, I've always been a bit of a food snob and would never eat from burgers vans until I went for the first time on Monday. I had the best bacon sandwich with hashbrown I've ever eaten in my life. It was so good that I've eaten 3 sandwiches in the past 48 hours. Really can not fault it! Also, my friend always orders the chicken burger and says its one of her favourites in Crawley.

Had an excellent experience at the Coaching Halt today. Went with a friend who has allergies. We were looked after by Laila and she could not have been more friendly and helpful, particularly re the allergies. Additionally, Nicole also looked after us and, again, was particularly helpful re my friend’s allergies. Food was good, the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming and the staff are brilliant. Thank you Laila and Nicole.

We were booked into the Hilton the night before our flight and decided to try the Garden Restaurant. Our food was excellent, every dish was enjoyable and well prepared. There is a good choice for both meat eaters and vegetarian such as myself. I really enjoyed the goats cheese and asparagus starter and the beetroot Wellington certainly did not disappoint. The highlight though was the above excellent service from Raji. He is a credit to the restaurant. He was attentive and explained every dish we asked about. He was helpful and went above and beyond to offer helpful advice and provide a great experience. I would have no doubts in eating here again. Thank you.
