Goat in Kensington and Chelsea

Travelling through the UK. Been to a few overpriced establishments. Not with the Greene King chain though. Be it the tucked away Old Starre Inn in York or the Goat Tavern in London overlooking Hyde Park, a warm, welcoming and budget friendly experience awaits you. We'll be back for more!!

Great food! And great staff! Darpan and Alex both made great suggestions for food and drinks and our meals and drinks were delicious!

It is in my favourite corner of London. Very welcoming nice pub. Food portions are big and dishes are delicious. Personel is very friendly. My choice was steak and ale pie. Between 5 of us we tried most of the mains and everyone was very happy with their choices.

Came in for something to eat with friends, drinks are great and service even more so! Thankyou Vicky for looking after us and for going above and beyond! Your service alone will prompt a return!

The atmosphere and service very good. The steak I ate, although it wasn't bad, I can say that I have eaten better in many pubs in London.

I want to apologize for my initial review, as it left room for the owner to make fun of us. Here’s a clearer account of what happened: On New Year’s Eve at 20:55, we called and booked a table for two at this place. Despite it being a busy night, they accepted our booking. We arrived 10 minutes later and were seated at a high table next to the bar. A lady handed us the menus and told us, “Please order at the bar.” At first, I misunderstood—it’s not a self-service restaurant, as they do bring menus to the table. If the owner, with their high sense of humor, doesn’t recall our booking, I’d like to point out that after us, another eight people arrived looking for a table. Despite the crowd, the staff eventually found seating for everyone, even though it was clear they were overwhelmed. We understood that expectations should be adjusted for such a busy night, and I even mentioned in my initial review that it might have been a bad moment. However, the owner’s response to my review made me wonder if this was simply routine for the establishment. To clarify, the owner is correct that there were two staff members behind the bar and one working outside, not three behind the bar as I had initially stated. That said, if they insist we didn’t come, I can provide a screenshot of my phone log to confirm the call. In response to the owner’s question about where we went after: Yes, we walked five minutes to Megan's. There, despite being their last walk-in customers for the night, we experienced some of the best service in London. What stood out most at the original venue was the lack of attention when I stood in front of the bar to place our order. It felt as though no one noticed or cared.

First of all we stood there for a good 10 mins at an empty bar just to order a beer and some chips. Bowl of chips was pathetic, could have counted on two hands how many chips were on the plate, didn’t come with salt or sauces, absolute ripoff, gotta be better! England ain’t running out of potatoes, Good Guiness tho

Went here for a meal with friends, didn't book but they fitted us in, food and drink was great and reasonably priced for central London. Staff are very cheerful and friendly.

I don’t like to write bed reviews but I don’t even like to spend my money in a place where we felt not welcomed since the first second we have stepped in. The staff is rude and one of the guy at the bar after I have asked if in the vegetarian roast there were mushrooms (I am allergic to it) he literally says: “nobody knows what’s inside of the veggie roast because isn’t made here so we don’t know”. After he insists to make me sign a paper to take his responsibility off in case I would feel seek. I had to choose a veggie burger instead. My three friends eat a Sirloin roast each and they think the same: “The roast was small, not properly cooked and the sides weren’t tasty at all”. We will never go back there and we live in London. So please if you can go somewhere else.

A wonderful evening out with a group of friends with a wide variety of dishes to chose from the menu - I can recommend the Steak & Ale Pie - & draught beers & lagers. Very quick food service!

Nice pub with warm and comfortable decor. Close to Richmond Park, Albert Hall, and washing distance from Knightsbridge. Menu is varied with choice of dishes, burgers, fish & chips. House white wine tasted a bit insipid. Recommended but also book at busy times.

Got the Sunday Roast here on a whim. Loved it, so we came back for fish & chips again the next day! Absolutely unit of fried fish and easily a hit. High quality food and friendly service, fair prices, and an overall a good vibe for a pint and a bite. Battered halloumi with chilies were also a favorite.

As good as ever. We first went to the Goat 13 years ago and now in 2024 it's still a quaint little pub in the heart of Kensington. I had the steak and Ale pie. It was bloody delicious. The goat ale was rather good too.

I didn't have any food but popped by here for a drink and a break from all our walking with London. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was fantastic. The food did look and smell great, so maybe another time I will have the hunger to try it out.

My brother and I went to this pub because we liked it while passing by, we returned for 3 consecutive evenings because we had a good time. The staff is welcoming, the food is good and they have some great beers.

My husband, my son and I stopped to have a beer before continuing our walk. We didn't eat, but those next door ordered two dishes that looked incredible. They were very nice, especially to the child who didn't know English.

This establishment is located across from the Royal Garden hotel in Kensington. Busy and serves a variety of food and drinks. For London a very reasonably priced tavern. Well worth the time to go and enjoy good food, drinks and a great atmosphere.

Korean burger out of this world. Peter was fantastic, you dont get customer service like that anywhere.

A typical English pub with delicious food.

When they say a door closes and another open for you. That’s how we chance upon this pub. Excellent place, great pub and brilliant ambience. The host was welcoming and friendly. We ordered the fish and chips and a couple of Guinness. One of the best fish and chips I had in London and will definitely be back here again. Will definitely bring my colleague if I do come to London again. Cheers and keep up the good job.
