We visited here for my sons 18th birthday. Was a last min event and the staff were so helpful and accommodating for us with a group of up to 30people and had already started blowing up balloons ready to decorate as they didn't know if we'd have any... We did but that was So sweet as didn't expect that. It's the small details that matter. The food was AMAZING. Everyone was happy and the portions were great.. Food left was only because portion size so good as food was lovely. Would highly recommend. Special. Shout out to Danny who took the booking, Alice for dealing with all the last min orders and especially Joanne who looked after us all on the night.. Great job guys.. We will be back soon.. Thank you X

We had table booked on Saturday, end of September 2024. Drinks came fairly quick, but we have waited for the food to arrive 2 hours!!! We complained, other customers complained. There was no reason given to us to why such a delay. It was a busy day with football on. They obviously couldn't keep up with orders, but they were still inviting new customers. When asked one of the waiters if they are short of staff, he unapologetically said 'no we're fully staffed' and 'just one of those days'. One of us has never received his order, and his wife shared her meal with him! One meal was inedible - dry steak pie with chewy beef, not a drop of gravy, it was returned. We had to request money taken off the bill for two meals and requested that 1x round of drinks be taken off as well - it was granted but should have been offered by the staff. On a positive note, my chicken linguine was very nice, and steaks on the rock were also nice :)

Been here many time during our stay in Weymouth honestly can say this is the worst place in Weymouth, badly ran poor service and rude assistant manager . I told a member of staff that I wanted to make a complaint and the man told me his name bluntly ‘Danny’ and walked off, another member of staff told me he was the assistant manager, absolutely laughable he can’t manage a line of people let alone a pub full. My best advice to the big bosses get a new assistant manager and quick! The rest of the staff I can’t complain about just doing thier job. Food and service was vile won’t be returning intill it’s a different assistant manager

Had to book online as no telephone available. Online appearance opulent. Steps for disabled and elderly challenging. Overall ambience was discouraging as sticky tables, grubby dogeared menus and dirty seats. Torn curtains did not help appearances. Cappuccino was weak normal coffee. At this point we downgraded our hopes of a wonderful steak because of the difference of online promise of 28 day dry aged steak and the fact at source was only available on Tuesdays. So we ordered fish and chips. WOW. Huge portion of tasty fish but disappointment with frozen average non handcut chips .Petit pois ok. Service was excellent and friendly. Attentative table appearances. Delicious puddings. Costly but -------?

Quite big inside and is dog friendly which was nice. All in all not worth the money. We were sat down and not told we had to order at the bar. We sat there waiting for 10-15mins before we asked and found out we had to order at the bar. Food came out quite quickly but after we finished they did not come collect our plates for around 15mins and then we got fed up of waiting and left. You are made to pay in advance of getting your food and thats because the food is terrible. The hallomi fries were rock solid, if you order the ribs; you will get one rib and when challenged they say that there is always only one rib. Its a shame, under different management it could be really nice there.

The Gloucester was suggested by a few people as somewhere to eat that is on the seafront and close to the parking/pavilion. When we arrived, we didn’t know how to get in - you need to head down the steps, not up! The decor wasn’t what we were expecting and left us a little trepidatious about whether we had made the right choice; it definitely needs a facelift and - to be completely honest - a really good clean. We could see other diners looked happy, so we decided to give it a go. The staff were lovely and clearly worked very hard. They did their best to serve us quickly, even though it was busy. The food was good. We can recommend the steak pie, it was really well filled and very tasty. Burgers were good quality too. All reasonably priced. We would return.

Very nice food slightly on the expensive side but not enough to be an issue. However the service was quite lacking, waiting 15-20 minutes for our server to even clear our starter plates after waiting about 40 for them in the first place, then another 50 minutes from for our food, making me think the server forgot to put through our mains order. But the food when it came was very nice with large portions that somewhat justified the price. A nice place for good food if you’re wanting more of a pubby atmosphere, just hope you get a good server

Food was far too expensive - £22 for ribs and half a chicken and far too big-this would have served 3 people! Also the Tuesday deal was badly worded as we thought we would be buying 1 and getting 2nd for a £1 as advertised which is why we thought the price was so much. Been here a few times over the last few weeks for the Euros, and I have to say what was once one of our favourite bars in town has quickly moved down to the bottom for me. On our most recent visit we booked a section (2 tables) for 12 people to watch the football. Upon arrival we were told we didn't have a reservation (even though our name/booking was on the clipboard), but they would move things around to accommodate. We were put on a table of 6, so were already compromising what we had booked, but were just grateful to be seated (well, half of us anyway) as it was very busy, which we pre empted, hence the booking. We all bought drinks, and proceeded to sit at the table we were allocated. Another lady then came over and told us we were to move because there was a booking on that table. We explained that the first lady had seated us there because we had a booking, and they had accidentally messed up. She then said that's no problem, went away and got the security guard to escort us away from the table?! The security guard was very understanding, and brought the manager over who moved us to the table next to the one we had. Very frustrating as the people sat here (a party of 8) didn't even have a booking, yet we were being told to move and they weren't. So all in all, a bit of a shambles. It's like nobody there knew what was going on. Instead of trying to sort it like the first lady, everyone else just wanted to get us to move. No point in booking here so wouldn't bother. All of this and the fact there was only 2 people on the bar, causing queues to go out the door just made the whole experience shocking, waiting nearly 40 minutes for a drink. They said 4 people had called in sick hence only 2 members of staff, but I beg to differ as it was the same for the semi final on Wednesday. Sadly won't be returning here, and I am gutted as mentioned this used to be a firm favourite for us.

Great food (British), unfortunately the service does not know the menu, does not pay attention to the guests or the full tables of guests who had already left. After more than ten minutes we were still sitting with empty plates in front of us. The waiter was chatting in the kitchen. We went to the bar to pay. The lady just turned around and walked away without saying thank you or anything in that vein.

So, we went to this steakhouse on Tuesday. You know how much we love steaks, and they had this awesome promotion—the second steak was only a pound! We ordered the steak on stone, which was cool because we could cook it exactly how we wanted. It came with chips and salad, and it was all really good. The peppercorn sauce was a bit pricey at £3.50, but it was a big jug, so I guess that makes up for it. The atmosphere in the place was great. They had a TV showing the football, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend going there. We spent a little over £40 for two steaks, a coke, a beer, and two peppercorn sauces.

Popped in here to watch the football , have a snack and a few beers on a Sunday afternoon. A good size sports bar with a fair selection of beers. Tvs at every angle all round the bar so where ever you sit you can watch the sport. Ordered a couple of bar snacks which came out in good time and was hot. The nachos with cheese and chili's were excellent. Sadly the barman didn't know how to count and tried to charge for just one beer instead of 2. Finally he charged for both and couldn't work out what change to give. He then shut the till with no change given. A supervisor came and made it right. Found out that he was a new member of staff. Sadly we found this to serve the most expensive beers at over £11 for 2 pints. Other establishments are all about £9 for 2 pints. Toilets were clean and tidy. All in all a average pub.

We were recommended to come here by our BnB owners. They said the Sunday carvery is the best ever worth every penny. We had to try it. As it looked very popular we booked. It was as the only time they had by 6pm on Saturday was 2pm Sunday. Not a problem very small breakfast it will be. The pub is a sports pub so tv screens on ready for the big games of football. Big bar and restaurant areas. We were shown to our table with a chalkboard showing our name and time explained how to order at the bar. Got drinks little tickets for regular carvery, as they do childs regular or large. Were then able to get our carvery. 2 meats and so much veg to choose from. My friend cant have honey so as carrot and parsnips were already in honey they brought out a separate bowl very thoughtful. The carvery was gorgeous the veg cooked to perfection not soggy not hard. Yorkshire stuffing balls amazing. Beef and pork meat was so tender and extremely flavoursome very good. There was no rush and people were leaving and arriving all the time. As the football started we left. But we shall return. Just book 1st. Lovely location lovely staff even the 2 on trial shift. Hope they were successful.

The majority of the food wasn’t good, we were there for a birthday and no one didn’t really want to make a fuss. The medium rare steak was well done, chips were dry and the king George burger was so dry that with the dense brioche bun was impossible to swallow. The young man which was tending to our table was very polite and apologetic. On the other hand the manager was full of attitude and excuses about how much the meal was eaten and begrudgingly offered a refund. Wouldn’t go back there for a meal if they said it was free!!!

Having a short break at Haven Seaview we fancied a nice fish and chip tea/supper. Looked at the reviews of the nearest chippies to our site and Stacey's stood out in comparison to others. Ok parking wasn't easy on nearby roads but it was well worth the effort. The shop is very clean (as expected but not always so), the staff are very friendly and efficient and a fair price too. Our cod and chips, on returning to the sire, looked beautiful, lovely colour and not greasy at all. The fish was nice, batter crisp and perfectly cooked, and the chips were about the best I've had from a chipshop in many years. Must not forget the curry sauce, my partner always pours it over her fish, I dip my chips in it. For the connoisseurs out there, the curry sauce is amazing. Don't listen to the one bad review, our portions were plentiful. Many thanks and I will make sure to return next time I am down here.

The fish portion was exceptionally small for it to been deemed a 'regular' size in our opinion. Both our portions of fish would have made a regular sized fillet elsewhere. My partner jested he's had eaten bigger fish fingers and at how pleased he was that he hadn't ordered us both a smaller portion! It was more like chips with a side fish. We both felt ripped off at paying over £22 for 2 'regular' fish and chips, to receive a child's portion. Other than the size of the fish, it was cooked to perfection, thin crispy batter. The chips were not under cooked or soggy, nice and chunky, very few little, scrappy chips and they tasted really nice. Both members of staff were polite and very efficient.
