My Husband and I had lovely Sunday lunch today at the Glenside. The meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection, and plenty of both. Always a friendly welcome by Alan.

As good you'll get at home there is a good selection of starters mains and sweets you get good size portion of meat and vegetables which are always cooked to perfection at £7-50p for a main course your not being robbed. We have eaten at some of the so called gourmet restraunts in the area and food is more expensive and not as good. The bar is well stocked and usually has 3 real ales available. The service is always very good and food is nice and hot. Only open for food steak night Thursday and Sunday lunch booking advisable to avoid disappointment tel:01661843060 or try Facebook page.

We have been to the Glenside for the Sunday lunch and the steak night on quite a few occasions. Always great friendly service from Alan and the team. Food is probably the best value for money anywhere in the area. Quality of meals and portions top notch. Best to book though.

The Glenside is very local to us and has got a lovely atmosphere, the Manager and waiting staff are sooooo friendly and nothing at all is a bother. The steak night is excellent value, an excellent choice of steak available and good luck if you order the mix grill. Overall a lovely relaxing place to eat.

Called in today for Sunday dinner. Both myself and hubby had the roast beef served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, turnip and baby potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection. Hubby decided to have ginger sponge and custard for pudding and quickly devoured the lot. Would recommend booking as was very busy.

Went to the Thursday steak night. Excellent quality meat and enormous portions.£23.50 for 2 meals and a bottle of wine. Don't know how they can do it for the price. My dog enjoyed the doggy bag I took home. Can't understand why it was so quiet on the night we went.

Just back from our 1st visit to the Glenside for a Sunday Lunch, it was Really Good ! Traditional, Honest Food, Fresh Veg, Quality Meat all perfectly cooked and great service at a very very good price. It was so nice to have Honest Food that hadn't been mucked about with or de-constructed etc etc. Don't let the exterior or the entrance put you off, fine dinning it isn't but this is a great place for Great Sunday Lunch with Great Service and a really friendly welcome all at a very reasonable price.

The Steak Night on a Thursday night s excellent value for money at £21-50 for 2 steak meals mix grill or gammon steak served with veg and chips you also receive a bottle of house wine. It is also possible to add a sauce as shown on the blackboard or upgrade to a fillet steak for a small additional cost. There is a very well stocked bar with drinks being reasonably priced in comparison to similar venues. They also serve a good Sunday lunch booking is highly recommended for both steak night and Sunday lunch.

Stopped in for breakfast on the way to do a walk at Kielder. Loved the place. Fantastic , well cooked , quality breakfast. Decent size and good value at £10.50 including toast and a brew. Couldn’t fault the food. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had. Ticked all the boxes for us. Dog friendly. Liked Falstone so much did a walk from there instead of Kielder and came back to the Old School for dessert. Bread and Butter pudding with cream or custard ! Although I was tempted by the Old School sponge. Thank you for a lovely experience

Nearest pub to our accomodation, spent several evenings here chatting with the locals and enjoying local ales. We had the pie off the day (steak and ale) one evening and it was delicious. Definitely more steak than you usually get in a pie. Had to have several more drinks before heading home else we would have needed a push up the hills!! Nice little corner with local products in the coffee shop area, cakes looked rather tasty but we were only in of the evenings.
