We had the ham panini and it was scrumptious and moreish. The chocolate cake was delicious and the butter icing was superb. Our teacher enjoyed her coffee!

The Glendale tea-room is located in the Glendale Garden Centre in Wooler. It is a small cafe, but beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It serves a good range of cold and hot drinks including teas, excellent coffee and hot chocolate, plus a varied menu of casual meals. One can choose from light meals including soup, jacket potatoes, a good selection of baguettes, sandwiches and paninis and a delicious array of scones, cakes and tray-bakes most of which are home-made. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly. It is an excellent place to pop into for a light meal or coffee and one can of course enjoy looking around the Garden Centre whilst there. There is ample parking right outside the front door of the Garden Centre.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.
